If we take a good look around us, it may become clear that our world doesn't appear to be the way God initially intended it to be. This deterioration happened initially in the garden of Eden and exists in full effect to this day. If we look at our own lives, we may wonder how we have played a role in this brokenness. The question then Where do we go from here? Magnify seeks to answer this question by taking a look under the hood at how we tend to view both God and ourselves. It examines God's word, the Bible, to discern how we may position our lives to do what we were initially created to "magnify the Lord" (Ps 34).
This was good. I really appreciate Lindell‘s effort to keep it scripture based. It felt as if every other sentence was backed by scripture and I really appreciate that. Overall I think that this book was great in its practicality and I think that it could really be a good book for new believers to propel them deeper into their walk with Jesus. I also appreciate Lindell approaching somewhat difficult questions, yet again answering them with what scripture says and not himself. Overall good read.
“The key to unwavering peace in the midst of uncertainty and hardship is found in laying down our very being before the Lord and allowing him to take full control of our lives.” - Trevor Lindell
“Your primary motive in life must be to elevate your King and to bring him more glory.”
That single line summarizes Lindell’s desire for the reader — to be encouraged to magnify the Lord.
Lindell’s Magnify challenges, encourages and edifies the reader; all in a truth-filled way. He uses scripture throughout the entirety of the book not just to make his own points, but more importantly, to let God’s word speak for itself in how the believer can pursue glorifying the Lord in their day-to-day.
The author packs a punch with numerous one-liners that provoke the believer to continue their path to holiness. I wrote my favorites down and will leave them below.
Overall, I’d recommend this book to any and all believers! Very solid, short, and extremely applicable. Loved it!
