Learned two things;
First, social (political) upheavals that people in South Korean went through last 10 years or so.
Second, made me think about the role of (healthy) journalism.
As a TV news anchor, the author was in the center of all the notable ups and downs of South Korean society. Even though I've been following major news from South Korea, the stories he shared were shocking (to say the least). During such turmoils, the author questions deeply about the role of (Korean) journalism. There were a lot of learning points, the historical relationship between media and Korean oppressive government, journalism as guard dog, lap dog or watch dog, how digital (internet) has positively and negatively affected the information share (and opinion making).
