This is a short story with the highlights of Jesse James. He lived a wild short life, he was a famous outlaw, gang boss, bank robber, folk hero, train robber and became a legend after his death. He came from a well to-to-do prestigious family living on a farm with slaves. His father was a Baptist minister and help founded William Jewell College. His mother was married three times and lived on a plantation in Missouri. Jesse was a Confederate soldier in the Civil War, an expert horseman and was racing horses. This was a short book packed with great details and very enjoyable, well written with loads of information.
This was a decent little book but there were a few issues. The verb tense shifts from past to present regularly, which makes the book flow poorly. I did like the quotes from Jesse at the beginning of each chapter though. The history part seemed researched well enough, too.
I enjoyed this short book by Larry Berg about Jesse James. I thought it was good for a brief introduction to this historical figure. I think that if you want more details, you would need to rely on a different book, but if you just want basic information and a list of some of his exploits, this is a good beginning.
informative factual interesting well done as Jessie James is an intragle part of American history, of the wild west which I enjoyed to the maximum. thank the writer for his research.
