Some Family Feuds Last Beyond The Grave… Life as a vampire's housekeeper is rough. Try cleaning a haunted mansion when spider webs reconstitute every hour, or keeping a positive outlook when the ghosts put tarantulas in the morning coffee. Then there's the boss, who gets a little savage when his prune juice runs out. Deidre's life is no walk in the park, but with the impending arrival of Nathaniel's sister, things go from crazy... to crazy plus some extra deadly fun thrown on top. Tiffany arrives in high fashion, amazing curves and sharp fangs on full display. Her posse includes a zombie husband who smells like the city dump is his bathtub and a chilling ghost. As Deidre struggles not to burn dinner, impress Drew (hunky wereferret with a capital H), and stay one step ahead of an insane ghost who delights in dropping chandeliers on heads, she discovers Tiffany has an ulterior and vengeful purpose for her visit. Nathaniel has put on his very best cape just for this latest vampire novella. (He does love his capes!) Join him, Deidre, Drew, and a growing cast of colorful characters in this new and laugh-out-loud adventure in The Vampire's Housekeeper Chronicles series. Can Deidre stop the powerful, evil, not-even-fair-how-good-she-looks-in-skinny-jeans, Tiffany? Or will Nathaniel learn that death can't solve all family disagreements? Find out! Here's what readers are saying about The Vampire's Housekeeper Chronicles >>> "A very funny story that gives reading about vampires a delightful and refreshing twist." >>> "Although undead, Nathanial is a fresh take on the genre, and the Chronicles are quite enjoyable." >>> "I would recommend this story to anybody who is tired of chick-lit vampires and appreciates a large amount of wry sarcasm." This killer female vampire novella will have you laughing your fangs off! Pick it up today and don't forget to bite into all the books in this funny vampire girl series by J Bennett.
J Bennett lives and writes in San Diego. Her writing partner is a bunny named Avalon who contributes to each manuscript by trying to eat it. His adorableness is his primary strength as a writer.
J Bennett is a professional copywriter and an author who loves asking that oh-so-dangerous question – “What if?” She currently writes a paranormal adventure series, Girl With Broken Wings, and a tongue-in-cheek short story series, The Vampire’s Housekeeper Chronicles, featuring a very old, very grouchy, very non-sparkly vampire and his patient housekeeper.
I love a good J. Bennett book. This series is great, along with her Girl with Broken Wings series.
If you're like me, you will start reading The Vampire's Housekeeper Chronicles and not be able to stop.
This short story features Tiffany, a female vampire who also happens to be Nathaniel's sister. The names were very well chosen for this story. Both Nathaniel and Tiffany act like you would expect. No offense to anyone with those names, it's just that Nathaniel is an older name, one set in tradition, and Tiffany is one that is newer and featured in movies as the mean girl or popular girl.
The story line might have been more predictable if the cast of characters didn't also include ghosts, a zombie, a wereferret, and Deidre. I have to say, Deidre is a great model of perseverance. She may look at her poster every night and feel like she is failing, but I would have given up long ago. She just keeps plucking along.
This series is a hilarious read for anyone that is looking for a vampire read that goes against every normal convention.

This series will have you in stitches from first to last 😃. Our poor housekeeper is once again fighting off ghosts, but this time it's also the vampires sibling 😲. Thanks again J, this truly is funny as heck to read and I can't wait for the next one 🤓.
Fifth in the “Vampire’s Housekeeper” series. I do so enjoy these stories, of Diedre, overweight, single, employed as a housekeeper to Nathaniel, a curmudgeonly vampire of some 200+ years, who has very traditional views of women and who has voted for Eisenhower since he ran for President. His house, besides being quite creepy (“the Thing in the Basement” as well as the ghosts: Dex, the artist; Joe, the white guy who fancies himself a professional rapper; and the Mad Mother, a nun who fully embraced the Plague in her lifetime). Diedre has also adopted a pet, a gerbilsnakelizardbat named Mr. Peanut. There’s also the hot guy down the street, Drew, who’s actually a wereferret; her love for him is perpetually unrequited.
Into this very – uh – unique environment comes Nathaniel’s sister Tiffany for a visit. She’s, well, “bustin’ out all over,” so to speak and speaks in a seductive manner to all, except Diedre, whom see seems to fancy as a snack. She’s accompanied by her husband Donald, sort of a poorly-adjusted Zombie whose limbs keep falling off. Well, the longer Tiffany’s there, the more Diedre suspects she’s up to something nefarious and wants something of Nathniel’s. Nathaniel, of course, will have none of it, after all, she’s his beloved sister. The process by which Diedre discovers Tiffany’s underhanded plan takes up the rest of the story, with fun and funny aspects, including a Bingo game with the neighborhood ghouls. Lighthearted times. Four stars. I’d recommend reading the first book, “Employment Interview with the Vampire” before reading this or the other ones (see my reviews).
