Enjoyed this book. This is the first time I have read a book in this genre, and I was pleasantly surprised. The characters were fully developed, as was the plot. Although the mystery begins with missing hydrangeas, the crimes actually become far more sinister as the story unfolds. There is quite a lot of action and drama as the mystery is solved – but what I enjoyed most about this book was the gentle amble through a small Indiana town with the town’s busybody and sleuth. It was pleasant to read as the protagonist took on everyday obstacles such as: suddenly having to take over a large catering job; dealing with a power outage; or dealing with personality conflicts with other choir members. I thought the illustrations at the beginning of each chapter were delightful, and the recipe included at the end of the book was a nice touch.
