This book contains graphic scenes of extreme violence. Some readers may find offensive, if your sensitive to things of this nature this may not be the book for you.
Angel Demorte had been a dedicated therapist for years, spending her days helping traumatized patients overcome their demons. The work was fulfilling, but what others didn't know was that Angel had her own demons to deal with. She had a secret, a dark side that she kept locked away, hidden from the world. But with each story she heard, each confession from her patients, that darkness grew stronger inside of her. But then, a new patient entered Angel's life. Brandon Quinn was a troubled man with a secret of his own. As they worked together, their bond over human suffering became stronger and stronger. And with each passing day, their twisted desires and thirst for destruction grew. Together, they were a dangerous pair, ready to unleash their terror and destruction on an unsuspecting victim. Their twisted relationship was a ticking time bomb, ready to explode at any moment. And as they got closer to their target, it was clear that nothing could stop them. The question was, would their bond over human suffering be enough to satisfy their dark desires? Or would it drive them to turn on each other?
I finished this short debut novel of Extreme Horror from M.M. Delorey tonight in one sitting. The early part of the novel was refreshingly original. I felt the character of Angel was very sinister and I was pulled into the story without a struggle. Likewise, the introduction of the male trauma patient in Angel's "take a snooze" Tuesday group being picked up on Angel's radar was a recipe for a perfect storm. The text was littered with more than a few editing errors which I normally overlook if the content merits that courtesy. The character development of the gratuitous torture tag team was at least fair. That said, at the conclusion the narration documented one of the two lovers sedating and then murdering his/her partner in a specific manner. When the police find the grisly scene, the opposite partner is discovered "dead by drill". I was not pleased with that outcome because it appeared to be arbitrarily written in as a plot twist with no obvious foreshadowing. I did wonder if the good doctor suffered delusions and created the male partner. I felt this could be supported by Angel going to hell in a handbasket with poor hygiene and stinking apartment, staying away from her job. But I also speculated this because it was uncanny how similar the male partner's little boy's injuries were to Angel's little sister's trauma in the accident specifically how the pair reacted to the same wound. Everything considered this is not a bad first effort, but the torture murder came across more gratuitous and sicker while a random victim off the street would have served the novel better. Hardcore fan or not it really touches a nerve when some poor women who has been through hell and fought her way back and is pregnant with a new husband to get picked for another torture marathon with death the last item served at the party. This was a quick read and the plot was promising. Insufficient facts from the book to turn the end upside down and a " plot twist" is not what I would term the sleight of hand at the end of the novel. A rating of 3 Stars in my opinion. I have a couple of her other books of hers based on a highly respected friend's recommendations so I will read them.

Outrageous, depraved and deeply disturbing, but containing a great neat and well-disguised twist at the end.
A good, extreme splatterpunk tale but one which, in the end, I was not quite expecting.
Although the narrative was solidly constructed, a few aspects didn't quite add up for me - but there is no doubt that the gory, grisly and gruesome elements would certainly not disappoint fans of this type of gratuitously violent, totally OTT, blood and flesh-filled, despicable horror.
Whilst reading the story, regular typing errors and poor editing became noticeable at times which were both disappointing and slightly off-putting.
Overall- a bit of a mixed bag for me...but a tale which can most definitely be classed as being of the 'extreme' variety. Discretion needed.
Rating: 3.5 deep-red stars of the truly grotesque.
Really disappointed with this: there was quite a lot of errors which I couldn’t wrap my head around but also the ending made zero sense to me. Was amazing until the errors and the ending which left me wishing I hadn’t read it
I did not see that twist coming. Truly. I mean, wow is really all I can say. Damn good story, loved the characters, and that ending was jaw dropping. Loved it!
this was abhorrent. i’m not talking about the subject matter, that was pretty standard as far as splatterpunk goes, but seriously did no one proofread this? not a single instance of the word “you’re” is spelled correctly (check my kindle notes), and there are NUMEROUS other spelling errors. punctuation was just completely abandoned at some points. oh, and don’t think i didn’t notice that you used AI to re-write some passages, the color on my kindle app for those passages was darker. SHAME ON YOU, THAT IS PLAIGIARISM
3.5⭐️ rounded down. Yup. That’s is extreme horror alright. It ramped up pretty quickly. Totally entertaining the whole way through. There were a few moments that had me in shock! That ending…. Wow, was a surprise.
