A fun take on the Scarlet/Violet story. Prince Violet is an interesting lead (although a bit annoying), and all my favorite characters from the games are showing up. Very happy with this one.

Playing Pokémon Violet left me infuriated with the games bugs, but I was enamoured with the story and eager to see how the eventual manga series would translate it. Now that I have reached that point, I feel mixed about the result. I think that the set-up to the characters' stories work well, and am eager to see how they develop as trainers and grow as people. However, it does feel pretty fast-moving initially that I wish it took an extra chapter to let things breathe more. Also, the lead character is a protagonist that gets a bit on my nerves with his belief at being royalty, something which I expect to change as he develops, but it is wearing thin right now. Also, no Scarlet character this early on? An odd choice, but oh well. Let's see how this story goes.
