Dante wasn't looking for a woman. He was content with being a single dad, and slowly but surely taking his place as leader of his club, Devil's Disciples. His life was busy, and he didn't need women complicating things. Fuck them, leave them. Don't catch feelings. But Dante had never met a woman like Rachel.
Rachel has a past. One she has worked hard at erasing. With others paying for her crimes, she moved half way across the world and put it all behind her. Until a chance encounter with Dante seals her fate, binding them both together in a toxic, violent embrace of passion.
As the two strike up a relationship that is as fiery as it is all consuming, she begins to unravel, revealing wounds that time has failed to heal, igniting a protective fury within Dante.
But in a world where loyalty is currency, and strength is power, betrayal strikes, threatening to destroy the very foundation of the Devil's Disciples. Dante is bound by his loyalty, and Rachel soon learns that the biggest danger may not be the secrets she hides, but the man riding at her side.
J.M. Johnson is a UK based author, often writing books set in her home of Yorkshire.
She writes dark romance that are very, very spicy, with morally grey men, and strong female leads. With a profound love of sarcasm (that's the British in her!) her books are always filled with it, as well as sprinkling humorous banter throughout.
All of the books come with trigger warnings like a shopping list, but are also plot heavy.
When she's not writing, she's either practicing her special effects makeup, or spending time with her three children, her fiance and her two dogs.
1st and foremost - thank you J.M. Johnson for the opportunity to read this book before release date!
The song vibe that comes to me for this book is most definitely "Slayer" by Bruce Savage!!!
Stolen had me engaged as soon as I started the first page. The wrath between Rachel & Drake was so entertaining! Maybe I'm a bit sick & twisted, but I laughed so hard everytime Rachel opened her mouth. She is an absolute spitfire!
This is by far on my list of tops for Dark Romance. This book is so intense and full of drama that you will not be able to put it down once you start it!
"Whether we like it or not, both of us know deep down that we are perfect for each other. A match made in hell. Two f*cked up souls completing the other".
I'm looking forward to putting this book on my dark romance shelf! Fan-f'in-tabulous book!
This is book 1 in a series and am so looking forward to book 2!
Oh! My goodness I started this late on and couldn’t put it down but needed sleep too, my eyes shut involuntarily and I am not ashamed to admit my phone fell on my face 🤭
The story just pulled you in, dragged you along for the ride and the ending 😱
Our MMC Dante (lol name says it all) VP to the Devils Disciples, sees, wants and kidnaps our FMC, Rachel. She in turn has a past that she is concerned will catch up with her. For the time being she is safe where she is even though she’s being held against her will she’s as feisty as they come and rightly so 😉 The dance between these two is hot, flaming hot just like an inferno 😜
I am not giving you anymore than this, otherwise it will spoil your whole reading experience. Suffice to say, read the trigger warning ⚠️. The spice in this one is strong, rough and savoury 🫣 It is the first in the trilogy with the second book being released Jan 25 and the third around July 25.
I’m gonna start this by saying BUY THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW. Do you like sons of anarchy? Buy this book. Do you like sexy af morally grey tatted up bikers? Buy this book. Do you love a smart mouthed, take no shit, fiesty FMC who is not afraid to punch a 6 foot 4 giant tatted biker in the mouth? Then BUY THIS BOOK.
Rachel and Dante are one wildly toxic chaotic perfect ride. When I say I was OBSESSED from the prologue, I mean absolutely positively OBSESSED! I would have Rachel’s baby in a heartbeat, and then turn around and have Dante’s. They are so wildly perfect for each other. Their demons go hand in hand. This is definitely an enemies to lovers. Even when it’s getting spicy, they still borderline hate each other but are also obsessed with each other. I think the author sprinkled fairy dust in the pages because when I say I couldn’t put this book down, I mean I was hiding in my work bathroom to sneak in an extra chapter. Dante and Rachel might be a little bit toxic but they were HILARIOUS! I’m talking dying laughing out loud in a crowded room funny.
This book was also so much for than just a hot fun toxic but sexy relationship in the making. There’s a killer plot that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. There is a found family aspect to it as well. It’s about accepting yourself and realizing that you might not “fit the mold” of everyone else and learning to be okay going against the grain. Accepting every part of yourself, demons and all. It also shows healing from past trauma, trauma that you think you’re over but really you just buried so deep inside you and it’s still festering away. Coming to terms with that trauma and facing it head on are shown so beautifully in this book. Rachel has had a hard life but she is the total definition of a bad bitch, a survivor. I instantly fell in love with her character, and she is easily in my top 5 favorite FMCs. I relate to her so much and I absolutely loved this book. I would give it 186372 stars if I could. Please do your self a favor and check the trigger warning and then dive right in!

"Let me take all the darkness in your soul as my own. Let me take it so your light can shine through."
♡This was my first read by J.M. Johnson & I freaking devoured it! Stolen has easily become one of my favorite enemies-to-lovers books that I have read. The plot kept me engaged, the banter was top-tier & the spice did not miss! The ending had my jaw on the floor as I begged for more!
The duet narration for this book was phenomenal! Lucy is one of my top narrators & she brought Rachel our smart-mouthed fiesta FMC to life perfectly! Ben is a new to me narrator & I thought he did an amazing job voicing our morally grey, broody biker Dante to life! The emotion Lucy & Ben put into this performance was impeccable & the connection felt between these two Mc's was perfection. Joe did an amazing job as a cameo for this performance as well!
If you like morally grey bikers, a strong af fmc, & a true hate-to-love trope look no further!♡
FMC mother could take a nose dive off a cliff and I’d be ok with it. Please read the triggers (this isn’t you grandmother’s reading material) I enjoyed this book and after 48 chapters it ends in a cliffhanger!!! But honestly once I started this book I couldn’t stop. The plot is there. The characters are there. This was a new author for me and I’m looking forward to more not just the next book. You won’t be disappointed by reading this. It is dark entertainment and I can’t say more because I get wordy and if I say more I’ll spill the plot. I will say I get Jax Teller vibes when it comes to the MMC. I can’t express enough to encourage you to read this book!!
Phewwwwww this was a *wild* ride, y’all. I’ve never read a book with two main characters who were so messed up and toxic…but perfect for each other and didn’t realize it? They just needed to use words and logic but neither character had much of it and were quick to anger (not even anger- explode!) I was iffy on the story, not gonna lie, because it didn’t seem like anything was changing between the two characters, but then the redemption started happening, and I was finally having HOPE! There was some growth, there was slight communication, there was a little bit of peace. And then, y’all…it ended in a cliffhanger. A heartbreaking cliffhanger. And I *knew* who the betrayer was in my heart, but the fact that I was right made it worse and now I gotta wait for the next book; it’s torture.
The reason I gave the book 4 stars and not a full 5 was because I do wish that passage of time was easier to follow, and the prologue confused me more than it helped, so I don’t think it was necessary.
This book is *very* heavy on the triggers. I mean very very very heavy, so if you are not prepared to be shocked and appalled, don’t pick it up and read it. It’s not for the faint of heart. However, if you don’t have a trigger line, it’s definitely an adventurous read.
“She would be either my greatest victory, or the death of me.There was no in-between.”
Let me start by saying read the trigger warning before diving into this book. This book is dark and delicious but is not for everyone. It did give me sons of anarchy vibes and was super spicy. This is like enemies to lovers in the extreme. I enjoyed the cat and mouse dynamic between our two main characters. The FMC was fierce! She took no crap from anyone and I loved that. I also liked the MMC but he would make me so man sometimes because he never budged! If you are wanting a super spicy, motorcycle club, morally grey, enemies to lovers, he falls first, with a bully mmc then check this out! The cliffhanger is abrupt and makes you need the next book immediately!
Based on the last lines of the dedication this book gets s 5 star review from me… Now to actually read it
The plot 🤌 the characters 🤌 everything is on point in this book. This book is dark and captivating but read your trigger warning.
Dante is tall, tattooed, bad boy, biker with a wonderfully sinful mouth. Rachel a strong, smart mouthed, independent woman who is hiding from a dark past that she is trying to outrun. Rachel and Dante are messed up, toxic and chaotic yet perfect for each other.
The cliffhanger at the end only makes you wanna read the next one asap.
6** motherfucking** stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Literally where was this author hiding 😭😭 like why is this not famous??? Did I just read my favourite book of the year? Yes. Was it the most unhinged dark romance I have ever read? Also yes. Just read it okayyyy.Don't think if you love dark romance though it can be heavy for some people. Rachel my girll 😭😭 she has gone through so much and the ending 😣 So excited to continue this trilogy 😺
Stolen is a wild, exciting, dark biker romance that I ate up in a day. It's brutal, gritty and raw. Dante wants an "old lady" to take care of his five year old daughter. When he sees Rachel he knows she is it. So he takes her. Literally.
Rachel may go willingly, but she will not go quietly. She is a force of a woman and let's Dante and the other biker men know it.
There's a lot of spice, but also a plot. Yay. This is narrated in duet by Ben Hart (new to me) and Lucy Rivers. I definitely need more Ben Hart narrations in my life. I loved his voice and accent.
This ends on a cliffhanger and I know I could read the next book right away, but I'll be waiting for the next audio.
Thank you to the author and Blue Nose Audio for the advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Hell yeah! I loved this book! I loved the plot, I loved the characters, I liked the level of dark, loved how well the narrators did in the audiobook and I have to say, I think a biker romance is exactly what I needed right now!
What the HE**!!! You really had to leave us hanging like that J.M. Johnson?
I'll admit I didn't think I was going to like this book. After reading the prologue. But then it captured my attention in a sudden turn of events. Rachel had a difficult past she is trying to outrun and can be a bit** with the best of them. Dante is a selfish prick and always has to have his way. Which makes for a very toxic and explosive relationship. Yet they may be just what each other needs. It does leave you anticipating the next book. If you have any triggers, you need to check them out. Because it is definitely full of them
Excuse me! I find amazing dark romance in a while and you live me on a cliffhanger??? C’mon.. 😩 Anyway, I DEVOURED this book in less than 24 hours! Rachel and Dante are toxic af and I can’t get enough of them!
Stolen by J.M. Johnston is a fierce and exhilarating ride through the tumultuous world of love and loyalty, wrapped in the raw and gritty embrace of an MC romance. Johnston delivers a story that is as intense and complex as the characters who drive it, crafting a narrative that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
Dante, the brooding leader of the Devil's Disciples, is a character defined by his strength and singular focus. As a single dad and club leader, he's firmly entrenched in his way of life—one that leaves no room for emotional entanglements. His mantra of keeping things simple and avoiding complications is challenged when he crosses paths with Rachel.
Rachel’s arrival into Dante’s life is like a storm—unpredictable and powerful. Her past is a heavy burden she’s tried to leave behind, but her chance encounter with Dante pulls her back into a world of intensity she thought she had escaped. Their chemistry is immediate and explosive, leading to a relationship that is as tumultuous as it is passionate.
Johnston’s portrayal of their relationship is both brutal and beautiful, capturing the essence of a love that is raw and unfiltered. The dynamic between Dante and Rachel is fraught with tension, both emotional and physical, and their connection is tested by secrets, betrayals, and the unforgiving world of the Devil's Disciples MC.
The novel excels in its depiction of loyalty and betrayal. Dante’s commitment to his club and Rachel’s struggle to keep her past at bay create a gripping narrative that explores the limits of love and the costs of loyalty. The stakes are high, and the consequences of betrayal are devastatingly portrayed, making for a story that is as heart-wrenching as it is thrilling.
Johnston’s writing is immersive and evocative, drawing readers into a world where every decision has weight and every action has repercussions. The dark, gritty atmosphere of the MC world is brought to life with vivid detail, enhancing the sense of danger and urgency that permeates the story.
While Stolen is a gripping read, some might find the intense emotional and physical conflicts a bit overwhelming at times. The darkness of the characters' lives and the high stakes can be intense, but they are integral to the story’s impact.
Overall, Stolen is a powerful and captivating read for fans of dark romance and MC fiction. J.M. Johnston delivers a story that is both fiercely passionate and heart-wrenchingly real, with characters who are as complex as they are compelling. If you’re looking for a romance that pushes boundaries and explores the deepest depths of love and loyalty, this book is definitely worth picking up.
I honestly didn't think I was going to like this. I was wrong!
This gave me Sons of Anarchy vibes big time. It did take me a few chapters before I became invested with the story but once I was hooked I couldn't put it down. Dante and Rachel are so toxic together but also kinda perfect. Rachel came off as sweet and innocent at first and her snobbiness was a little off putting but once you get to really know her character she was actually very relatable. I loved her fierceness and how she'd stand up to Dante even though he was most likely terrifying. She truly was a survivor and everything about her screamed that. She didn't back down or shy away from things and when she was determined to do something then nothing could stop her. An absolute force to reckon with. I loved her! The narrator did a great job portraying the emotions of the scenes. Lucy's one of my favorites tbh.
And Dante was pure danger, dominance, and power rolled up into a sexy package that had me holding on to every word. I didn't even want to like him. I mean let's be real, he took Rachel and then basically said "I'm keeping you and I don't care if you like it" but l still ending up loving him. The way he was with his daughter and the way he saw Rachel, like really saw her in ways she didn't see, I loved that. I think their back and forth banter/arguments were my favorite tho. The sass, sarcasm, and "take no crap" attitude placed answers had me laughing a few times. And the narrators voice!!! It had a similarity to Spike from Buffy that I ADORED!!
The only thing I have to say that I didn't like was the usage of the term "Old Lady" I really think there could've been a better term to use for Rachel other than that but I also feel like it was said a bit much and I started to kind of roll my eyes when they would bring it up. That's my only gripe tho which isn't too bad.
But the cliffhanger at the end...... I was hanging on every word and then all of a sudden..... credits started playing. I definitely need to know what's gonna happened next.
This was one of my favorite audiobooks from Blue Nose so far.
This book! Wowza! Let me start with check your trigger warnings this is a dark romance, it's not a light and fluffy read. Okay now that I've said that onto the review.
This book hooked me right from the beginning, when I wasn't reading the book I was thinking of the book, I even woke up at 3am one day and thought to myself 🤔 do I really need to adult tomorrow couldn't I just read the book at 3am instead and regret my choices in the morning... No no I can't🙄
First if all Rachel is my dream FMC she was so full of sass and was a bratty little spitfire and I was here for it! I loved every single time she stood up to Dante. Love a strong FMC that won't back down when she's in the right.
Okay Dante that mouth on him 🥵🔥🫦 it was so sinfully delicious.. Love me a good degradation and humiliation kink topped with praise 🤌💋.. I loved the little glimpses of the love he had for bee and the things he did for Rachel even though she didn't realize.. I do wish they would have talked more but the banter was everything
This book does end on a cliffhanger but I cannot wait to see what happens in book two!
Our FMC is something special. The bad ass she is!.
Bee was adorable🥹 I really hope we get to see more of the three of them together.
Let’s talk SPICE. Woah. Okay. That was HOT😅
As much as I loved the hate & passion between them both.. I wanted more softer connections between them both? They are so bad for each other but also so perfect for each other? & I hope to see more growth & character development in the series! (This is just my personal preference & I know more books are coming!)
I love how she changed her hair colour.. it’s just such a statement moment!
& the ending… I actually sat up & said ‘WHAT’ & tried to refresh my kindle😂😂 come on!! You can’t leave me like that!!!
But… I know we have 2 more books in this series &this does give me positive hope for them both & I have a good feeling it’s going to get bigger & better!
Fab read & highly recommend but make sure you check the TW’s!!
I'm going to shout this from the rooftops this is one of the best dark romances I've read 😀 and the cliff hanger 🤯 I need book 2 now, this second 🤣 I absolutely love Rachel she's one kickass girl & Dante grew on me as the book went on, at 1st I wanted to hunt him down & put him 6 feet under, but when his unusual way of showing he cared came out he won my heart, the banter & chemistry between them was amazing & always left you wanting more & the spice was 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵. However, there is one character that stole my heart from the start & that is Vienna I'd quite happily be his old lady! I absolutely loved his humour & his banter with Rachel, his fellow hair growth partner 🤣, I can't wait to see how his character grows in the next book. I will be recommending this book to everyone & it's definitely one of my favourite reads this year 😀
First and formost check your triggers. With that being said..my brain just went through a rolled coaster of emotions finishing this ARC book. I really did not now what to expect, I am a visual person when it comes to buying a book and base it off the cover. You remember the saying “don’t judge a book by itS cover”, completely true. I loved this book and recommend it to anyone. If you love strong female characters that dont put up with anyones bull this is for you. I love the banter that these two characters had, but at points (being the reader) wanted me to reach in the book and shake these two senses because of what they were not telling eachother! I highly, highly recommend this book!
*Arc Review* This book is fucking PERFECTION!!!! 💯 Literally SCREAMING at you to read it immediately!!!! Do not add to tbr, just buy it right now!!! Dante is not the hero, he's the best morally grey man you will ever meet! I'm definitely color blind cause all these red flags are shining bright green! 💚😈 I don't think I've ever loved a FMC as much as I love Rachel! She gives no fucks, does not hold anything back, must be the trauma. The freaking spice is just 🥵. Vienna is my bestieee! Will this book rip out your heart with the cliffhanger? Yes, it absolutely will! How can you do this to me JM? I need book 2 right now!!!
I have never seen such a toxic relationship from start to finish in my life. Like usually it starts toxic and then fixes itself but noooope. Incredibly toxic from start to finish 😂
BUT Rachel is NOT a pushover and gave as good as she got…she’s usually the one who started it, to be honest. That girl has a nasty streak lol but Dante matches her one for one with ease and sometimes even winning. But even when Dante wins, Rachel retaliates 😂 so again toxic 💀
I will say though that a lot of their problems could’ve been resolved if Rachel just learned to talk instead of assuming.
Another book boyfriend to add to my ever growing list 🥰🥰
Wow, what a read it had me gripped from the 1st chapter. I loved the whole banter between Dante and rachel, which was funny at times, especially Rachel's spitfire attitude, who answered back to Dante 🤣. The spice for me I loved it wasn't too much, and it wasn't too little either. The ending WTF!!!! What a cliffhanger. I am now going to wait impatiently for book 2 to come out so I can find out what happens. This is 1000% a reread for me.
Holy Spitfire! Rachel and Dante's ongoing push and pull has me INVESTED! Every time Rachel opens her mouth my jaw ends up on the floor. She takes ZERO shit and has a comeback for everything. The woman is a bit mad and I love it. Dante is just as fiery and a tad crazy. He doesn't sugar coat and gives it back just as good as he got it. These two are EPIC together and their story is just getting started. Looking forward to continuing this series.
This book is hard to put down, there’s a lot of back and forth between Rachel and Dante but it’s definitely worth it! Rachel hasn’t had it easy and even though she’s just surviving it’s not living. And Dante seems to bring her back to life but it isn’t easy fitting in with his family and not knowing who she can trust and who’s manipulating her!
I did enjoy the potential grumpy ruthless biker and a mouthy brat girl - to a point. The constant arguing just got on my nerves a little. Especially after she shared with him what she went through and the next fight he was a 🍆 to her again. Like bruh, get a grip. You kidnapped a woman with trauma why are you such a 🍆
I started off this book struggling to enjoy the dynamic between the characters and slightly hating it however the last quarter of the book had me beginning to change my mind. The cliff hanger I did not really see coming till last second. If the next book continues building on this new dynamic between characters it will be much more enjoyable
Dante dante dante 😮💨 good lord! This is a man who knows what he wants and takes it, without question. I love a man who knows he's a cunt and owns it ✌️
Rachel Is a feisty hell cat and I LOVE her. Fuck around and find out vibes all day long! That cliffhanger?! Urgh!! I need book 2!
The FMC and MMC are definitely enemies to lovers. They don't see how they complete each other. This is high paced and full of action. It keeps you guessing all the way to the end. But I loved ever bit of it.
