"I just want my books read and for people to love them. For my words to be the last thing people read before they go to bed and the first thing they reach for on a rainy day. I want my books to be a reprieve, an escape."

Andi Callaway wants to be an author and when an opportunity presents itself to become an assistant for her favourite author Ford Delaney, Andi jumps at the chance. Working for such a talented author could be just what she needs to make the contacts to get a foot in the door when it comes to her own desire to make it as a writer. Little does she know that this job will impact almost all aspects of her life, from her friendships, to her relationship with her boyfriend, to her future as an aspiring author.

What an enjoyable read Written On Her Heart was. I really loved that the story centred around Andi's desire to be an author. She was so confident in her ability to write a great story and that was really refreshing to read. I also liked that for the most part she wasn't scared to speak her mind and stand up for herself, although it did take a little longer for her to achieve that with her boyfriend Peter.

She felt an inexplicable pull to him, as if he held an invisible string tethered to her somewhere deep inside.

I loved Ford. He was that boy with a bad past. The boy's whose been wronged and fallen on the wrong side of the tracks, only to work his way out of it all and make something of his life. He was driven and passionate when it came to his writing. The romance was slow building despite their almost immediate connection, but it was at just a perfect pace. Not too rushed at all. They had a great rapport with each other and I especially loved how easy Ford found it to confide in Andi.

"I think a world without true love is a world without hope, one I don't want to be a part of. So, I choose to believe, whether it's real or not."

Andi's boyfriend Peter had me a bit torn. There were times when I liked him and then times when I just felt a whole lot of blah about him. But as the story went on, I was so happy with the way things progressed with him.

One of my recurring thoughts while reading this book was that I didn't connect very much with Andi's two best friends Carma and Rachel. In fact there wasn't a whole lot that I liked about Rachel at all. If she was a friend of mine, I'd be changing that real quick. She was so self centred. Yeah, she was having issues in her life, but that doesn't give you the right to be a crappy friend. But despite the things she says and does, Andi seemed to readily forgive her pretty much all of it.

The authors writing was great and allowed me to get completely lost in the story and the time reading it just seemed to whizz by, and before I knew it I was done. The story wasn't all one dimensional and touched on some tough issues. And while this is a New Adult read, it was never overly wordy in describing the intimacy between the characters but still being able to portray the connections adequately.

I do have lots of questions left regarding some of the supporting characters. Having had some background into them throughout the book, their stories are left somewhat up in the air, so I'm assuming that the following books in the series may cover their stories. I'm definitely looking forward to finding out how things go. Written On Her Heart was a great start to the Calloway Cove series.

"I don't let people in, but with you it's easy... so easy. And it feels like I've known you a whole hell of a lot longer than I have. Like maybe I've known you forever, as cliche as it sounds."

I want to say thank you to Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review. Lately I been really wanting to read contemporary books, mostly because its summer and I just want the fluff that comes with these kinds of books. This book was just that, it is a perfect summer read. I think my biggest issue when it came to the book was the romance between Andi and Ford took forever to happen, yes there was that instant attraction, but it didn't happen until like the last 10% of the book and even then they didn't officially become a couple until the last chapter of the book. I would have love to see their relationship be explored throughout the book even more. The book was extremely predicable and that's what I these fluff books are, but that's what I want for the summer.

Andi as a character is easy to relate to because her career choice is really risky and there isn't that support to it as with other careers. Especially with her boyfriend Peter, who I dislike a lot. He's the kind of guy that wants a girl to be by his side and support every thing he does, but when the girl wants to do something they don't support her. Then her 'friend' Rachel was even worse because she thought everything should be handed to her and she continue to purse the job with Ford after she didn't get it. I really liked Carma's character and I hope there's going to be exploring with her sometime.

The plot of the book needs the extra push to me because it lacking something that puts everything together. The book was really character oriented which I think is why the book is lacking in plot. The main thing we see is Andi working and trying to reach her dream.I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait to continue this series and read more by this author. I recommend this book as the perfect beach.

Written On Her Heart is a good and captivating contemporary romance book...Andi Callaway is back in Callaway Cove for her summer break and the opportunity of working for her literary idol Ford Delaney is up for grab...She has dreamed of becoming a published author her entire life and here was her chance...in the form of Ford Delaney - a famous but reclusive author who has always wanted nothing more than to escape his past.

Soon though attraction starts building between Andi and Ford and unfortunately she begins to discover that consequences come hand-in-hand with great things: Andi’s other relationships start to crumble, Ford’s fame comes back to haunt him, and the heat they generate will either make them stronger or threaten everything she holds dear...This is a very good book. The author dives in the characters' most intimate feelings and emotions in a very beautiful way, and the plot is captivating...

Written On Her Heart is the 1st book in the Callaway Cove Series...looking forward to the next books in the series :)

This was one hell of a roller coaster ride and I wasn't expecting so much drama! I normally avoid love triangles and I didn't realize this book was a love triangle when I first started reading but I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The only complaint I have was that I felt the ending was rushed. I feel like Andi was way too forgiving in the end and that kind of annoyed me. There were some things that I felt went unanswered, especially about Rachel and her relationship with Ford. I also wish this would've been told in dual POV. I really loved Ford and would've really enjoyed getting in his head a little bit. I look forward to the next book in this series and kind of hope it's about Rachel (even though I can't stand her!) so that maybe she can redeem herself.

Ebook provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

As an avid reader, the stuff that happens behind the creation of a book fascinates me. As a frustrated writer, I have always wondered what life would be like as a writer and Paige Rion’s first novel in her Callaway Cove series just fed this curiosity of mine in such a delicious way.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Written on Her Heart is a perfect book to read on the beach this summer. The romance was sizzling hot and steamy without being overly graphic. Even though it’s mostly a romance novel, I loved the fact that it is not limited to that one aspect.

Andi Callaway has always wanted to be a writer. She is in the process of writing her first novel and is trying to come up with ways to kickstart her career. When she hears of an opportunity to work as an assistant to one of the biggest names in the literary world, she makes up her mind that she’ll get that job no matter the cost. After all, Ford Delaney is a renowned, international bestselling author and she’d be a fool to pass up the chance this summer job presents.

In her mind, Andi is more than qualified for the job. After all, she’s a writer herself (well, almost). She’s almost positive she’s got it in the bag. Things get a rocky start when she finds out that she’s competing with her two best friends, Rachel and Carma, for the position. This situation then creates a strange tension between Andi and her bestfriends. She couldn’t quite understand what they could possibly want the job for. This can be Andi’s big break. For Andi, she needs this job so much more than they do.

This is an example of how Written on Her Heart does not just focus on the romance. I loved how Paige Rion was able to showcase the dynamics between her characters, especially between these three women. They all want the job for different reasons and it was compelling to read about Andi’s efforts in trying to understand where Rachel and Carma are coming from. The tension between these three was absolutely palpable and I was definitely interested how this one opportunity tested their lifelong friendships. As much as it was horrible how they treat each other just to get the job, I actually enjoyed how Rachel tried to undermine Andi even after Andi got the position.

As Andi struggled to juggle her relationship with her friends, she’s also faced with a much bigger problem. Sure, she got the job but she did not foresee what working for Ford Delaney meant for her. She certainly did not expect the attraction they felt for one another. It’s all well and dandy but Peter, Andi’s boyfriend, wouldn’t really appreciate her working for a man she keeps having inappropriate thoughts about. And have I mentioned the sexual tension? Wow. I was thisclose to shouting at my e-reader to tell Andi to just get it over with!

Working for Ford definitely challenged her idea about her relationship with Peter. They’ve never had any problems before but spending time with Ford showed Andi what it would be really like to have a relationship with someone who understands and supports what she wants to do with her life. She knows she can’t possibly let the opportunity with Ford go but she can’t seem to do that and keep her relationship with Peter intact at the same time. We find Andi as she becomes increasingly confused with her feelings. She can’t deny whatever she is starting to feel for Ford but she also can’t just forget the years she spent with Peter.

This becomes the main crux of the novel. We witness Andi’s struggle to reconcile the different versions of herself that these two men bring out in her. She is faced with the decision to ultimately choose which “Andi” she wants to be because with each day spent in Ford’s company, it becomes increasingly clear that she cannot be both what they want her to be. I found it beautiful how Andi finds the courage to be who SHE wants to be regardless of whatever the people around her think. It was also nice too see Andi learn how to stand up for herself and shove aside the pushover persona she’s always had. For once in her life, she’s making decisions for herself instead of always thinking about everybody else. Don’t get me wrong, I admire her for her selflessness but I thought it was really brave of her to finally start speaking her mind, to let go of her perfectly controlled life, and to be and do what SHE wants to.

I can’t let this review end without saying how much I loved Paige Rion’s writing. I think she was able to create a beautiful multilayered story. The depth and emotional value of this book is simply exquisite in the most complex of ways (if that even makes sense). Written on Her Heart is more than just your typical romance story, it’s a tale of how a this unlikely group of people endeavored to overcome conflicts in personal interests in order to preserve the bonds of friendship and family. How far are they willing to go to take what they want? Is there a price too steep? What are they willing to sacrifice? Would it be worth it?

Paige Rion answers these questions in a summer adventure you won’t forget.

Andy, è una studentessa universitaria con una passione forte e decisa per la scrittura. Sa quello che vuole scrivere e il suo target.

"I just want my books read and for people to love them. For my words to be the last thing people read before they go to bed and the first thing they reach for on a rainy day. I want my books to be a reprieve, an escape."

She felt an inexplicable pull to him, as if he held an invisible string tethered to her somewhere deep inside.

"I don't let people in, but with you it's easy... so easy. And it feels like I've known you a whole hell of a lot longer than I have. Like maybe I've known you forever, as cliche as it sounds."

Detailed Review: I had the honour of beta-reading WOHH for the author.

No words can describe my admiration for the author after reading Written on Her Heart.

The story is very simple, but this book proves to be one of those books that are simple yet touching. Also it has got these layers of secrets waiting to be peeled back at each turn of the page.

WOHH tells a story about a girl who dreams of being a writer and when an opportunity arises that allows her to achieve her dreams, she eagerly takes it, mindless of the consequences or the effects it will have on her life.

Callaway Cove is a very beautiful setting because it just gives this stay-calm vibe that makes the pain and beauty of the story stand out even more. It just brings out the characters and their stories.

Andi, the main character is very much a control freak. She has got everything planned out for the future. But the sudden job offer brings her future plans to a halt and she has to start from scratch.

Ford has always found writing as a form of therapy but he never expected it to backfire against him. He goes to Callaway Cove for refuge. And finds unexpected surprises waiting for him, including his assistant Andi.

The swoon-worthy romance was a winner. It definitely captured my heart. I was surprised by how much it had affected me when I finished the book.

Not to mention the splendid twists I stumbled along the way. It took quite a while for me to finished reading this book because every time I reached a twist, I couldn't read on for fear of what would have happened after that. However, it never took long before I was ready to take on the challenge of reading again. It's almost like overcoming your own fears. I felt so proud of myself after finishing.

Brief Review: When I think of WOHH, I can't help but remember the feelings I experience while reading it. I have no doubt that Paige Rion has crafted a masterpiece that will be admired by many in the future. The subject which this book is focused on will attract the attention of many aspiring writers. It wasn't only Paige's writing skills that impressed me; it was the setting, the characters, the romance that captivated me.

Final Rating: 5/5 'Totally Amazing!'

This is the first book in the Calloway Cove Novel series and I really loved it. It is considered a New Adult novel-to find out exactly what that is here is the link where Paige Rion explains it on her blog Essentially it is a novel written somewhere in between a Young Adult Novel and an Adult novel. What ever it is it works for me!

Andi Callaway, aspiring young author has one more year and she will have her college degree. She has been dating one of her ex professors who is a bit older then her. Her boyfriend is trying to get a grant for an experiment he wants to preform and is totally immersed in "ME". Andi is kind of selfish also but does support this guy--although he is not so supportive of her-especially when he learns she is going to possibly not finish her college degree.

Andi is home (very small town) for summer break and has a chance to work as an assistant for a well known author, Ford Delaney. She manages to get the job--which her two best friends also tried for. This causes a bit of trouble as I'm sure you can imagine. Andi also finds out that all is not how she thought with both of her best friends. I'm hoping the next couple of books are about them and what happened in their lives! Her boss, Ford Delaney, is given an unfinished draft of Andi's novel by his really nasty administrative assistant (why are they always on the snippy side?)-he loves it and sends it off to the person who helps him get publishers.

Meanwhile there is a kind of standoff between Andi's boyfriend and her boss-(actually a couple of them)-ultimately exit boyfriend and enter boss--but then boss, now boyfriend leaves but then comes back-but leaves you hanging as to whether he will stay or not-the story ended--OUCH!!!!

Definitely a 5 star rating in my opinion and I really want to read the rest of this series NOW!!!!

Have you ever read a book and see it play out like your watching a movie on a screen. Written on Her Heart by Paige Rion, was filled with D.R.A.M.A and it kept me intrigued from word to word, chapter to chapter all throughout. The debut novel is apart of the Callaway Cove series and I’m so glad it’s a series because me want more (said like a little kid wanting candy.) The narrative explored such a pivotal point of being a writer and the struggles you are faced.

Everyone can relate at one point or another throughout the book, whether it be a rivalry between best friends, falling out of love, falling in love and following your career desire even if it means you have to make sacrifices. I am usually not one for drama to a full extent but it was beautiful written so I kept on reading. The characters were flawed and I think that makes any book unique. Andi and Ford aren’t head over heels for each other from the start. Andi’s admiration for Ford as an author steers the narrative from the beginning. I loved so many scenes within the book. I would like it to have been a little bit faster but given it’s a series and a debut novel Rion did an amazing job at breaking grounds into the author scenery.

The narrative, the characters and the dram filled debut from Paige Rion was one of joy, heartbreak, love and choices. I was gripped from the moment I picked it up to the very end of the first novel. I rated Written on Her Heart by Rion, a 4 Lit Love as it was filled with drama. The narrative and characters kept me asking questions and it was relative to many different aspects of life.

With characters and a story line that will hook you in the first two chapters, Paige Rion’s Written On Her Heart will captivate you and leaving you anxiously downloading the next book in the trilogy.

Written on Her Heart is the first of the Callaway Cove series and is about a young woman who is seeing all of her dreams come true with some struggles along the way, but none of the eye-rolling at the overly dramatic plot lines that you will occasionally find yourself doing with some of the contemporary romance stories.

As I don't like to give out spoilers in my reviews so I am hoping to give a brief synopsis without hopefully giving too much away!

You meet three friends; Andi, Rachel, and Carma as they are at an assistants interview for famous author Ford Delaney. The story focuses on Andi and her ambitions to one day become just like Ford, where everyone has her book on their shelves. With a love triangle of the existing boyfriend, Rachel vying for Ford’s attention, and Andi and Ford’s undeniable chemistry this book will have you rooting for love, wanting to reach out and smack the boyfriend, laughing and also crying at the seriousness of the some the situations. While the book mainly focuses on Andi and Ford, you get to know Rachel and Carma and a little bit of their story, so when you get to their book, it doesn’t leaving you feeling like you're missing something.

Paige Rion does a fabulous job of giving you everything you want in a book, staying up late to find out what happens next, fabulous story telling where you can imagine the town, and characters with actual backstories that are relatable.

With friends like these, who needs enemies?!

This book was filled with drama! So much so that I really felt like I needed some popcorn! I'm not joking. I loved it though. Every page was filled with some kind of drama! Whether it was best friends tearing each other's hair out and pushing each other into a pool, or men fighting over a girl, these pages were just filled with it! And normally I wouldn't be into this much drama but it was the sort that kept me wanting to read. You know that kind where you just have to look at the accident even though the whole time you're hoping that nobody got hurt? Yeah, that kind!

The plot was extraordinary and the characters left me speechless numerous times. The only downside I have is that I wanted a little more background to some of the characters or a little more further in the book but I know there's going to be a book two so that's not too much of a downer.

I do seriously think my favorite part was during a restaurant scene where these two guys are fighting over a gal. I'm not saying who does what, I'm just saying, IT WAS EPIC. And I wanted the gal to just run away from both of these idiots. Although I also had my favorite guy, they were just being gorillas pounding their chests and trying to show off for the females... ugh! Neanderthals, I swear!

So, if you can't tell, I could not put this one down. Totally fantastic, really fast read. Loved the pacing!

Andi’s lifetime ambition is to become a published author and the perfect opportunity lands with her, when she returns home to Calloway Cove. Her idol and renowned author Ford Delaney is looking for an intern to help him with his research, and Andi knows this is an opportunity of a lifetime.

Ford Delaney is hiding in Calloway Cove away from the paparazzi and intrusion into his private life. He’s got a past that haunts him, and his attraction to Andi may very well be his downfall. But he is willing to help Andi achieve her goal, as he creates openings for her with his literary resources at his disposal.

As Andi and Ford try to curb their growing desire for each other, the consequences of their actions seem to leave a deluge of broken relationships and pain behind them. As Ford’s past catches up with him, Andi finds herself fulfilling her life-long dream of becoming a published author, but alone and miserable and hoping one day Ford would come back to her.

The plot is good, and the storyline is interesting. Lots of time I had to remember that Andi is only 21 years old, and her actions and reactions are of a young adult. Ford is the successful and arrogant guy hardened with life experiences, yet he is very protective of Andi.

All in all, Written On Her Heart is a good one time read, and for a first time read of Paige Rion, I liked it.

I thought that this book was refreshing. It was another good one that got me back in the spirit of not only reading but writing as well. I loved that Andi was a writer. I loved that Ford was a writer. I loved the chemistry they had together. Paige Rion’s writing was easy to read, easy to comprehend, and lovely.

I really related to Andi. I’m not sure if it was because she wrote like I do. Or if she was just a really relatable character. But, I loved reading about her and diving into her world. I was a bit jealous that she got to go to college and take lots of writing classes (my college barely had any). I loved Andi as a character and I would love to have her in my real life.

Ford. Ford. Ford. I loved him. He has a shaky past. He has a rise from the ruins kind of story. And he’s sexy. What makes him even sexier? The fact that he reads and writes books. There’s not many men out there in the world that I know of who like to read and write. Hell, most of the men in my life hate to read, unless it’s articles about science or cars.

Andi’s friends. What can I say about them? Well I didn’t care for them. Not one bit. I think that they were rude. Snotty. Selfish. I didn’t get along with them. And Andi’s boyfriend, yea can’t even remember his name, because that’s how much I didn’t care for him.

All in all, if you want a quick, new adult, contemporary read, pick this one up! I enjoyed it and it got me back into the reading and reviewing and writing world again.

This was a delightful romance story about a young woman and her author idol. Combining a romance story with an inside look at the life of a celebrity author, this book was quick and enjoyable read.

The focus was mostly on the characters, who were fully formed and believable. Andi was everyone’s friend, and I loved how she kept blurting out comments, even when they weren’t appropriate. It was endearing and amusing, and never malicious.

Her “friend” Rachel though… Ugh, what a piece of work. Still believable, yet not at all likeable. She was so malicious and almost the definition of frenemy; it was disgusting.

The storyline was a tad predictable, which fits my expectation of a contemporary romance, although there were a few times when I wasn’t sure there would be a happy ending. This touch of unpredictably brought me a lot of joy (what can I say, I delight in painful reads) and made the story more exciting.

Overall, this was an enjoyable romance story with an inside glimpse at celebrity life that would make for a great weekend beach read. The characters were realistic and believable, and were the highlight of the story.

I just spent the last few hours totally engrossed in Written On Her Heart and I must say that Paige Rion has been added to my list of favorite authors! Her writing is impeccable and the story was absolutely captivating. I totally fell in love with Callaway Cove with its history and small-town quaintness. Andi and Ford are so good together and I hope they get to make another appearance in future stories. There were other characters introduced that had their own troubles and issues so I hope we get to see them again as well. I really felt bad for Carma and although it appears she might have decided to take the wrong direction in life, I am hoping she finds a caring, swoon worthy man like Ford to love and take care of her. I am really not fond of Rachel. She as her own set of problems, but she just came off as a back-stabbing, self-centered bitch person.

Written On Her Heart is the first book of the Callaway Cove Series and I am eagerly waiting for the next book to come out. Ms. Rion is a breath of fresh air in the romance genre and I applaud her for writing an amazing, well-written story!

~*~My Thoughts~*~

I really enjoyed this book the story caught me from the beginning and definitely held on all the way till the end. Going into this I didn't really this was a love triangle type of story which I honestly try to avoid because they drive me crazy and I usually end up disliking the girl. This was definitely not the case with this book I loved Andi all the way through she was an awesome character. Ford I absolutely loved and I couldn't get enough of him. The only thing I would have changed was that I wished things had happened sooner. Things kind of went slow and then bam it's one thing after the next and your heart stays in your throat till the last page. All in all this was a great read and I can not wait to read more by Paige.

I am actually heart-sick about this book. The fact Andi called those two selfish pricks "friends" was awful. She literally had no one she could count on. Her parents were ancillary characters that didn't seem to care one way or the other about her. We didn't get closure about Rachel or Carma...not that I necessarily wanted it, but it would have been nice for them to get their due after being so terrible to their so-called "best friend." And Peter? What the hell is his situation? I knew he would come back to her, but this was too much. There was way too much time before he came back and I didn't like it at all. Nope. And it felt like she randomly threw pieces of information at us - she's big chested, she likes vintage clothes, why did she get gold shoes?. Not that great.

~~ ARC provided by Obsessed by Books for an honest review ~~

Written On Her Heart was a good book to read. It took me awhile to get into it. It started out slow and then it picked up half way through it.

The book tells the story of Andi a small town girl who's big dreams are to become a writer. During a summer job that Andi tries to get she meets Ford who they become fast friends. They both compete against each other trying to get the writing job. Both Andi and Ford will do anything for various reasons for the job. Many obstacles come in the way between Ford and Andi. Andi's friends get in the way of her trying to get her dream job.

The friends were annoying I wanted to reach in the book and slap them. They were mean and spiteful to Andi. Andi was amazing character like how she achieved her goals. Ford was okay he didn't really stand out for me, but overall the book was good.

This was an ok read for me. The writing was easy and flowing. Andi gets the opportunity of a lifetime when she gets a chance to work for her idol. Ford is a big time author hiding away from the paparazzi. I liked Andi even though she was very self absorbed. She thought her friends were selfish, when she barely was aware of what was happening to them. Ford was pushy, he didn't respect the relationship that Andi has with her boyfriend, Peter. Even if Peter was the right one, he crossed some boundaries. The story moved at a fast pace. Overall it was enjoyable.

Written on Her Heart was an easy read that I enjoyed more than I expected. I loved the setup and I thought the romance was sweet with just the right amount of tension. Although I would have like just a little more of a plotline to hold my interest, I appreciated how well developed the main characters were. Ford was definitely swoony, although I didn’t like Andi as much as I had hoped. She could be somewhat immature, but I had to remind myself that she is fairly young. I look forward to reading more from the author’s series.

This is a light hearted read and a little predictable. Andi wants to be a writer so when an opportunity arises for her to work under one of her favorite authors she jumps at the chance.

Ford is hiding from the media and working on his new book. He doesn't expect to fall in live until he meets Andi an he knows she's different. Add in secretive best friends, a jealous boyfriend an you get a good read.

I loved this book! I could not put it down. I found myself relating easily with what the characters were feeling. The twists and turns kept me turning each page. Andi was a well written character with real feelings and thoughts. The interactions with her peers and with Ford and Peter helped you root for Andi to follow her heart and make the decision that was best for her.

It was a great story till the end....it was rushed at the end and she just forgives him for hiring her no good friend and leaving with her acting all chummy?? That's bullshit....I loved the story till the end it was just frustrating

I enjoyed the overall story and romance but there are way too many unlikable characters in this one. It got very irritating at times. Still, not a bad book. Full review here at SeeKikiRead.com.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I basically finished it in two days (postponed reading my textbooks...haha).
It's a bit predictable but I would recommend this book as it's a light-hearted read.

I couldn't deal with the stupidity of the heroine and a romance book with competitive catty girlfriends. Support each other people! Stopped at 80 pages and gained a day back of my life.
