I liked the premise and thought the story had legs to be a little longer. There were many opportunities for plot expansion that I think we're missed. Cute ending.

Where do I begin....I had the pleasure of being a beta reader for Ms Shyla and this book is so worth the read. The book takes you on a journey about finding true beauty in oneself and not letting your limitations hold you back. Up In Flames is about Kirk and Liandra and what happens when they are involved in a plane crash. Kirk is a billionaire who is at a cross road..does he follow the path his parents have set out for him or venture out on his own path. Then you have Liandra, who is hearing impaired but hasnt let that stop her from reaching her goals of capturing true beauty in photography. These two people are thrown together by circumstance and discover that no limitation or difference can tear apart true soulmates when they meet. Not giving anything away but let just say that they come into their own and stand toegther to make a future for themselves...there is a surprise at the end that will warm you heart....I hope Ms Shlya revisit this couple later in another book because they are truly lovable....I read this book in one setting because I could not put it down and trust me you wouldnt either...Awesome Love Story :)

A sweet, short story with a happy ending. It was enjoyable, but I would have loved more. A chance to delve more into the character's lives before the crash would have been great.

I was provided this as a beta reader. I didnt know what to expect but I love this book. It had so many great moments, that you will be surprised at the direction it takes. I laughed smiled and was like omgoodness! I wish my hubby was here right now!!!! Thank you shyla for being able to experience this book, I love it to pieces and I look forward to reading more from you. This is a must read for anyone, you will not be disappointed. A one of kind unique love, one we all wish we could find.

Well written story of love to the rescue! Liandra and Kirk are in a awful plane crash and have to depend on each other for survival. Along the way, they find out each other's flawless and manage to heal each other from within. What happens when the rescue party shows up and they go back to reality?
I LOVED this story and Ms Colt did an excellent job of writing about Liandra's hearing impairment. I hope there is another story to this one because it could have more to say.

Pretty good
this book wasn't bad. it got straight to the point, It was a really fast read for me, and I would have loved to know how the wedding was, if they had a boy or girl, and if they had more children... I also loved the fact that she was plus sized and that he was fit but didn't care about her size. I was more people were like that.

Loved it!
Short but sexy! I loved how she wrote her heroine who has a handicap in such a positive manner. Kirk is sexy & alpha; my kind of guy!

This is a short, sweet, romantic read. This is Liandra and Kirk's story. Kirk is my kind of guy he stood up for his girl against his own. I enjoyed reading this book.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a short read but it was packed full with a little bit of everything. A real love story born out of tragic circumstances.

An unexpected love
Wow this was a unexpected and quick read! Liandra is a beautiful, curvy, intelligent, and deaf. She doesn't let her disability stop her from living life to the fullest. Then you have Kirk, who is handsome, rich and just wants to have fun before he takes over the family business. These two come together when their plane crashes and they are forced to depend on each other to survive. This was a very quick love story that nice to read on a rainy day like today. I'm a big fan of Mrs Colt's writing and look forward to more! I loved how the author wrote dual points of views and how Kirk went after Liandra, I also liked Liandra spunky personality. Only complaint is that I wished this book had been longer! 😫

Will their love stand the test of time when they are found and catapulted back to reality? It's worth finding out by purchasing this gem of a story. Excellent job done by author Shlya Colt!

Sweet
As much as I hate flying, I almost didn't get this book because the idea of a plane crash and being stuck on an island trying to survive, scares the crap out of me. But since it was a Shyla Colt book, had to get it...lol. And if I go through this in real life, I HOPE that it happens with a sweet hottie like Kirk.

Too short! Way too short!
I knew this was a short story but there was so many dynamics involved that I was really hoping for a little bit of more development and more education regarding disabilities etc....
In any case, it was cute and very romantic. Go Kirk, fight for what you want, that's what a man is supposed to do!!!

Love the greatest sense of all
Opposites in everything become each other's best friend and greatest love. A tragic event brings them together. Having to rely on one another to survive brings people closer together. I really enjoyed this story of a billionaire and a deaf photographer.
In the end glad to see his mother take off her blinders and see.

Extreme circumstances bring extreme love
The storyline is self explanatory . The characters are well thought out , which was a pleasant surprise from this short story. Up in Flames definitely brought the heat

Literally Falling in Love
Yep. It’s the crash-land-deserted-Island-find-one’s-soulmate-story I’ve been waiting for. I’ve been binge reading Ms. Colt’s work this whole holiday and this story got me swooning over a 21 year old. I’m done (smile).

It’d taken a plane crash to get someone like him to notice her. It’d be foolish to read too deep into anything. Convenience and a calamity didn’t equal a love match.
This novella moved far too quickly and there wasn't enough depth or detail for me to savor the story and unfolding circumstances in the way I'd initially hoped.
I might have been able wrap my head around the sex happening almost immediately between them (as a result of the life threatening circumstances they'd survived) if there had been more of a build up towards that significant moment in their connection.
Last night had been phenomenal, and stupid. She stifled a moan. Sex with a total stranger, in a cave, any minute she’d wake up from this dream and swear off eating Chinese before bedtime.
As it was, the beginning of this tale felt like a set up for sex scenes and didn't really work for me.
Also, it wasn't believable to me
That being said, there were some sweet, funny moments between this couple, as well as some interesting challenges in their relationship, that conveyed the potential for this story had it been longer and explored things in a deeper fashion.

“Nice one, Casanova. You already hit the skins, no reason to lay it on so thick.” She smirked.
“You have to know you’re gorgeous.” The shock in his eyes made her stomach tighten.
“Right? Cause you noticed me pre-crash?” She placed a hand on her hip, issuing a challenge with her words.
“No, girls like you aren’t my type, too much substance and common sense.” He grinned.
So this was just an okay read for me but I feel it had the bones for a story I might have enjoyed so much more.
