Dealbreaker

Rate this book
She’s the biggest movie star in the world.

And she’s in danger.

My specialty is security for the rich and famous, so when legendary actress Willow St. Claire asks for my help protecting her, I can’t say no.

The only problem is that I’m in danger too.

Of losing my heart.

She’s smart and sweet, beautiful and kind, and despite my determination to never fall in love again I know I’m going to make her mine.

But when her past catches up with her, the future I’ve begun to plan is suddenly at risk.

I might lose her.

And everything I never knew I wanted.

“𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗱𝗼. 𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲.”

I absolutely LOVE this Kat Mizera and Elise Faber duo! Two powerhouses coming together to create possibly one of my favorite series, the Gamebreaker series! These are all stand alones but they are interconnected. This book picks up where the last book left us dangling on that cliffhanger, wondering what in the world happened to Dash after falling off stage.

Dash is our broody and emotionally closed off MMC. Ex military and now running a security firm for celebrities with his best friends…he finds himself in a hospital recovering from a broken hip after falling off stage trying to save his last client from a psycho fan. Nightmares of his past plague him and he has trouble sleeping…as he’s up and wandering around the hospital, he overhears a disturbing conversation. A man , threatening a patient. But this isn’t any patient. It’s Willow St Clair…former child star turned major movie starlet…only thing is…she’s in a coma and this man is threatening her life. And Dash is not about to let her be in danger while he’s around.

Willow is our beautiful starlet FMC who is hiding a dark secret. To the world , he life looks perfect…but as she lays in the hospital, deep in a coma from a head injury, it’s clear that not everything is as it seems. Her fiancé and director has been abusing her and is the reason she’s been critically injured. Her life is in danger…the nurses aren’t sure if she’ll ever wake up. But her own Prince Charming is there to protect her…even if she doesn’t know it yet.

Dash takes it upon himself to stay by her side every day. Reading to her…arguing with himself at the ridiculousness of the characters 😂 I was in literal tears reading his reactions and inner monologues. Eventually , Dash’s voice pulls her out of the coma. Willow is oddly calm and feels safe with him even though they don’t really know each other. He promises to help her and keep her safe. He knows her fiancé will try to get his hands on her the minute he knows she’s awake, so Dash sneaks her out and hides her away at his house. Giving her time and space to heal and process through everything that’s happened.

This is a very slow burn and I loved it. I loved how Dash fell for her so hard, so fast…his hidden feelings bubbling to the surface without his permission. He never rushed or pushed anything with her. Making her feel safe…protected. Being her friend first and foremost. Did they but heads sometimes? Yes. But it was so nice to see them work through things and see their relationship develop and grow.

Dash helped Willow find herself again…find her inner strength and confidence. Helping her put herself first and break free from the abuse she’d been enduring for so long. Willow helped Dash work through his guilt from the past. Showing him that he isn’t defined by the dark events he can’t let go…and helping him get more in touch with his feelings and emotions.

Obviously…it isn’t all rainbows and unicorns. Danger lurks and I’d still very present for Willow. But Dash and the whole Gamebreakers crew had rallied around her and taken her in as family. No one’s coming after Willow without a fight on their hands.

This is a must read , fun and suspenseful read with a gang of characters that will keep you coming back for more! 💙

This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Dash and Willow’s story.
Dash is a security specialist, who is in rehab to recover from hip surgery, when he hears another patience being threatened. Willow is one of the biggest movie stars in the world, and she is in a coma. Dash is attracted to the women in a coma, as his protective instincts come to the fore, and he is determined to protect her, and he starts to read to her every day, and slowly his voice beings her out of her coma, but she is in danger.
This is a well written slow burn, action packed story, with found family, friendships, emotions, danger, suspense, intrigue, forced proximity, amnesia, touch her and die vibes, humor, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, captivating page turner.
I look forward to reading more from these talented authors’ whose work I highly recommend.

Dealbreaker was such a phenomenal story. Hudson “Dash” and Willow meet in unusual way at the hospital while both recovering from serious injuries. When Dash starts reading to her everything changes for the better for both of them. Dash has the means to help Willow of an abusive relationship. That’s what Dash does he runs a very successful businesses in protecting people. And Willow is a a very famous actress. With time they both learn a lot about one another. And Willow finally finds the freedom she needs while still getting everything she lost in her life. Dash gives her a roof over her head, an amazing friendship group that are more like family. Everything that she was basically missing out on. There friendships turns into so much more. You see all they both are still struggling from past trauma. And you see they both love deeply and it’s great to see how far they’ve both come from. I just love coming back to this series and see how strong their bond is from the others guys. And I can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

Arc was provided for honest review.

The Dynamic Duo Did It Again

Groundbreakers, which is an elite security and bodyguard firm, have another highly famous client, Willow St. Claire. After Dash overhears something while he is in the hospital, he makes it his business to help Willow out. Willow has been living with an abusive fiancé and grabs onto Dash to find her way to a better life. This book was both heartbreaking as well as heartwarming which easily made it a big page turner for me.

These authors know how to put their heads together and always gives me the perfect book.

Willow and Dash❤️‍🩹

Dealbreaker is the third book in the Gamebreakers series and focuses on Dash aka Hudson. Willow and Dash’s story is one of healing and a chance at true love.

Dash is injured when he is protecting Jade at the end of the previous book. While recovering in hospital he overhears a concerning conversation and immediately begins to investigate the person of concern. This leads to him befriending Willow and helping her in her time of need. But what started as friendship, soon turns to something more.

Will Dash be able to protect Willow and will things work out in the end? Only one way to find out😉 Looking forward to Atlas and Lily next🥰

Dealbreaker is book 3 in the Gamebreakers series and carries on from the shocking epilogue in Heartbreaker, following Dash as he falls for Cinderella.

Dash runs Gamebreakers Security, a company he created when he discharged from the military. He provides services to the rich and famous and anyone else who needs his services. He is a grump and has some hard edges, but he loves hard and forever.

At the end of Heartbreaker, we get a glimpse in to what Dash will be dealing with at the beginning of Dealbreaker. When the unthinkable happens and threatens Jade, the country award winning singer he is protecting, Dash is there to save her. But at what cost?

Willow is an A-List actress in Hollywood. She is engaged to a Hollywood producer and appear to be the perfect couple. But looks can be deceiving.

Dash meets Willow while reading a worn copy of Pride and Prejudice during the late nights that keep him up. He never thought he would read a romance novel, let alone become invested in the story and the characters.

His voice lulls Willow in to a feeling of trust and protection, something she has not known for years. Who would have thought Dash would have a lulling voice?

Once they get home to his house, he helps her get set up in his guest room. He is currently working from home in order to be around to help Willow. In addition, his guys are over regularly to bring him paperwork and check in with him.

When Dash takes Willow to Sunday dinner with his "family" it is a big deal. He does not tell her that, but everyone there knows it. Dash never brings anyone to Sunday dinner. He is falling for her, even though he knows he absolutely should not. But when Atlas hears her story, he goes in to Mr Fix It mode.

When her ex fiance starts blasting updates on social media, Atlas is on top of it. Again, he is Mr Fix It. On top of that, Dash helps her retrieve some of her belongings from her former house. Everyone is helping her and she is grateful. But when Atlas provides an update, relief floods Willow's system. She had no idea what had been going on since she hooked up with the ex.

But when Willow makes a last minute decision to do something she knows she should not be doing, will Dash and his guys be able to circumvent the possible repercussions? Emotions will be at an all time high after the fallout.

Sadly this story happens every day. Not to this extent, obviously, but it is still too common of an occurrence in our world.

When Willow hooked up with her ex, he was good for her. But over time things changed. To the point that she had to get out. I loved that Dash understood and was there to help her. He got her out of a dangerous situation, provided her a place to recover, and helped her become the happy person she used to be.

Dash is always aware of how she reacts to him. If he raises his voice, walks away to cool down, or just gives her a look of love. They are attuned to each other.

Watching her and Dash cut loose in the kitchen with the whipped cream and sprinkles was so fun to read. Both of them just enjoying life and having a good time. No worries.

Watching Willow fight back. Showing she has a spine and is not willing to let anyone walk all over her or try to take advantage of a situation was good to see. Before she and Dash became a couple she would have cowered, but now she is showing the world she is back and ready to fight for what she wants and what is rightly hers.

And Atlas. Oh Atlas. I cannot wait for your book. I think he is an onion just waiting for the right person to peel away his layers. And I really need to know where his Mr Fix It tendency comes from.

Dealbreaker is book three in the Gamebreakers series by Elise Faber and Kat Mizera. This is a slow burn, forced proximity romance between Hudson Dash, a bodyguard and Willow St Claire, a Hollywood movie star. The story continues from the cliffhanger ending of Heartbreaker #2 which left us worrying over what had happened to Dash after the security incident with Jade at a music awards event. This is a story of giving someone the freedom, understanding, kindness and love to recover from a trauma. Dash falls first and is very protective of her, so lots of touch her and die vibes as he shows her what life could be like with him. Willow shows such strength and ends up helping him like he helps her. A heartbreaking story at times but their romance brings light and love into both their lives.

Dash is ex-military and runs Gamebreaker Security, an elite security and bodyguard firm for the rich and famous. He suffered severe injuries when he fell of the stage while protecting Jade from a psycho fan. While recovering in hospital he suffers from nightmares so one night when he can’t sleep, he goes for a walk. He overhears a guy threatening one of the other patients who has been in a coma for a month after a head injury. He’s a big movie producer and she’s his fiancé but Dash is disturbed by the conversation and his protective instincts kick in as he realises shes in danger.

The nurses aren’t sure if or when she’ll wake up so Dash starts reading to her. It’s hilarious how invested he gets in the story and his comments about the characters cracked me up. Willow finally fights her way awake and is surprised how safe she feels with Dash. I loved how he sneaks her out of the hospital after she tells him her memories of that awful night that led to her injuries. They both know her ex will hurt her so Dash hides her at his house. They slowly learn to trust each other and start to build a life together. He is so aware of how his actions affect her and acts accordingly, so caring and thoughtful.

They develop a friendship and understanding as both dealing with past trauma. Willow had a sad childhood before she became a child star. She rebelled in her teenage years and then thought Dylan was her saviour but found herself trapped as he became manipulative, controlling and abusive. She went from being in love to being terrified for her life and no-one believing her. Dash is usually closed off as he’s still trying to cope with the grief and guilt over losing his best friend. Dash is angry at the emotional and physical abuse Dylan has put her through and is obsessed with keeping her safe. He’s determined to help her recover from the horrors she’s endured but it’s a long process and at times affects their relationship. He does worry if she will be happy staying with him or if she’ll go back to her glamorous life. He knows he won’t cope with another person he loves leaving him.

The rest of the Gamebreakers play a big part in this story. They support the couple, do all they can to make Willow feel part of their group and help her get back on her feet. Atlas is amazing when he finds out the extent of Dylan’s lies and Banks turns out to be her favourite Viper. There’s a hilarious scene when his sister interrupts them and his niece finds a princess in her uncle’s house!

When her past makes her mess up and risk their future, emotions run high for everyone and leaves Dash questioning everything. The epilogue has a very satisfying outcome and there is a hilarious ending with Willow surprising Dash. The authors also give us a funny teaser about Lily and Atlas, ready for the next book.

4.25stars-DEALBREAKER is the third instalment in the contemporary, adult GAMEBREAKERS erotic, romantic suspense series co-authored by Kat Mizera and Elise Faber. This is former US Marine turned security specialist Hudson Dash , and actress Willow St. Claire’s story line. DEALBREAKER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Hudson and Willow) DEALBREAKER follows in the aftermath of separate attacks, and recovery for our story line couple. Hudson Dash’s most recent assignment ends with a broken hip and sprained ankle. While in the hospital, frustrated with his recovery, Hudson overhears a series of threats against another patient, and quickly discovers former child actress Willow St. Claire, the target of the abuse. Willow St. Claire is a survivor whose life is no longer under her own control, and Hudson has offered her protection from the man who is determined to destroy her life. As Hudson and Willow begin their recovery together, someone else is waiting behind the scenes to finish it all.

The world building follows Hudson and Willow from hospitalization to recovery in the face of smear campaigns and lies directed towards our story line heroine. Willow has not been in control of her own life since her earlier years and a show of her own, and the team at Hudson’s elite security and bodyguard firm for the rich and famous, offers Willow the opportunity to face down the man who has taken control of her life.

The relationship between Hudson and Willow is one of immediate attraction. Hudson knows that Willow is in trouble, and is determined to protect the woman with whom he will quickly fall in love. Willow has had no one to protect her, from an early age. The rampant excess and emotional betrayal in the industry has left Willow a shell of her former self. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, we are reintroduced to Hudson Dash’s close knit group of friends and co-workers: former rock guitarist Royal Ewing and Jade Cantrell, hockey player Banks Christianson and his fiancée Aspen, Atlas; Dash’s sister Briar and her daughter Frankie; and Willow’s ex Dylan Durand. Atlas’ story line is next.

DEALBREAKER is a story of betrayal and vengeance, abuse and survival, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is fast paced, dramatic and entertaining; the romance is spirited and sensitive. ; the characters are sassy, charismatic and animated.

Hooked from the beginning

The author collaboration of Kat Mizera and Elise Faber is one of my favourites, and their Gamebreaker series highlights how seamless their joint writing is. DEALBREAKER, book #3, is another entertaining, heartfelt read, and I was hooked from the beginning. It is a bodyguard/movie star, forced proximity, protective MMC, he falls first, she's down on her luck, found family romance which had me laughing, swooning, and raging.

Being in hospital recovering from an injury, security business owner Hudson Dash wanders the corridors at night out of boredom. He comes across a situation which enrages him and does a little investigating, leading him to assess the situation and discovering a patient who needs his protection. It's not long before Dash finds himself reading to the patient hoping to help bring her out of her coma. Willow St. Clair is a famous movie star who has been living with an abusive fiancé and wants to leave. Before she can though she ends up in hospital in a coma, thanks to his actions, but it may end up being her saving grace. Listening to a total stranger, a gentle male voice, read nightly to her slowly wakes her, leading to huge changes in her life.

I loved Dash and Willow, their chemistry sizzled. After the death of a close friend Dash had closed off his emotions, but through his friendship with Willow he began to rediscover them and open himself up. Dash is exactly who Willow needs too, a gentle giant who made her feel safe and secure. I loved that they were able to relax around each other, the fun they shared, even their serious moments. Admittedly, Dash fell first but while he was falling so was Willow. When they finally allowed themselves to follow their desires the heat between them was scintillating. This couple were perfect for each other.

Dash is a member of a group of men who have been friends since college, they are more like brothers than friends. These men and their partners are a found family, and when Dash brings Willow into the mix everyone readily accepts her, something she lost in her previous relationship. Of course, not everything flows smoothly and there's a touch of drama and suspense added which brings some tension to the storyline. I can't wait for Atlas's story, which is up next, this broody businessman is definitely going to be brought to his knees.

Another unmissable read from these talented authors.

I apologize to Kat. Elise, and Julie for the late submission. In the end, it was because this story was my lifeline to sanity.

Everyone gets a call that they are expecting but don’t want. That was my case. I took my go-bag, my e-reader, and gasoline. As we drove the 500 miles to collect family, my turn in the passenger’s seat was spent reading Dealbreaker. When it was my turn to drive, the story was resonating in my head.

It captures you from word one. It starts with a bang. A situation that is all too common. A man, a bully, and a genuine swine. My apologies to porcine creatures. He does something unconscionable. He raises his hand to another human being.

I appreciated the way that the two main characters were introduced to each other. It is proof that Jane Austen works anywhere. I will leave you that teaser so you will buy the book.

Dash and Willow’s story is full of events that everyone, except the emotionally challenged, will feel, and become furious with equal measure because there is someone in the universe that is an entitled prat. The story builds to a point where you just read faster and faster. Then, the book ends. In my case, it was because I needed to read it again. I did. The second time, I picked up nuances that I missed the first time. A gentle man with his own struggles, fabulous sub-plot. A woman, who has a checkered past, a truly wretched mother, and the strength to make a difference in her own life. She steps outside the box to build a new one.

In the end, it is a situation fraught with tension, and ripe for resolution. They make it happen for them in their own time and in their own way.

My recommendation: Buy the book. Settle in with your favourite libation. Read it. Then, read it again. I am on my fourth reading. Thanks, Kat and Elise, for a magnificent adventure.

I am always promised a good time whenever I pick up a book by Elise Faber, and this one that she co-wrote with Kat Mizera is no exception. Again, this is another unequivocal five star read for me.

What I've come to look forward to in the stories these authors create is the unique way the main characters meet for the first time. In this book, one would never have anticipated the way Hudson's and Willow's paths would cross, and how their lives would unwittingly change trajectories for the better from that point on.

I found the main characters' personas in this story quite compelling too, despite their roles being quite common: she is an actress, while he is the security expert who eventually takes on the task of protecting her. But despite being a renowned and successful actress, she is enduring a painful truth about her life from which she is desperate to escape. And while he is an extremely wealthy and capable security expert living by an honorable code, it is one that has been dictated by a painful and tragic loss he has endured in the past. So it is like they were meant indeed to meet as they offered each other the hope they direly needed in order to overcome the hidden gloom cast over their lives.

But perhaps what I favored most in this story was the climax, one that involved a deeply moving scene between Hudson and Willow. It was heartbreaking in one moment, but the way the two of them handled it - with a refreshing dose of emotional maturity and clarity - uplifted my spirits soon after. It was definitely a gratifying way to end Hudson's and Willow's story and achieve their happy ever after.

I am thankful to the authors for granting me a free review copy of this book. I leave this review voluntarily.

Dash runs Gamebreakers Security, a top of the line security company that provides security for the rich and famous. Dash is hurt at the end of Heartbreaker protecting Jade and finds himself recuperating in a hospital after hip replacement surgery. Unable to sleep, Dash wanders the halls and overhears a man threatening an unconscious woman and finds himself intrigued by the woman after the man leaves. Willow is an A-List actress who is engaged to a Hollywood producer. Her life appears to be perfect from the outside, but one night it turns ugly and puts Willow in a coma. Dash takes to reading nightly to Willow from Pride and Prejudice. When Willow wakes up, she begs Dash to help her after telling him about her abusive ex and his plans. Dash and his men whisk Willow out of the hospital and to his house where he sets her up in his guest room. Will Dash be able to keep things professional between himself and Willow, or will his heart become involved? Will Willow learn to stand up for herself against her abusive ex and her mother? As Dash and Willow spend time together, will they be able to keep their hands off each other as their attraction grows? Will a decision to retrieve a family picture from her house cost Willow more than she bargained for? Will Dash get to Willow in time when he learns she went to her house alone? I loved Dealbreaker by Kat Mizera and Elise Faber! Dash and Willow are a great couple who both have suffered trauma and helped each other heal. I love how Willow seamlessly fits into the Gamebreaker family. Cannot wait for Atlas' book. I would highly recommend getting Dealbreaker and the other books in the Gamebreakers series by Kat Mizera and Elise Faber. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is the 3rd book in this series comprised by two fabulous writers who are able to catch your attention right from the start and hold on to it until the end. Sometimes they can even have you craving for the book to continue because you want more. This book does deal with some things that affect so many women and even men in today’s world. So it is not something that is for the faint at heart. While it can be stand alone it does help if you have read the previous books in the series to truly understand all the characters. I can honestly say I can’t wait for Atlas story to come out!

From the outside Willow St Claire has this incredible life as she is an A list actress and engaged to a successful director but inside their home doors she was suffering from abuse. One night it went to far and she ended up unconscious in the hospital. She never imagined her rescuer would be a this man who reads her Pride & Prejudice, offers her a safe house, teases her with ice cream, whipped cream and sprinkles and treats her like no one has before. But will she ever be able to get away from her ex who has control over everything of hers. She can, she will need help along the way and for the first time she might just have it.

Hudson Dash runs a top of the line security company and is recovering himself in the hospital from a serious injury when he comes across Willow. Something draws him to her and he never wants her to leave. Not just because he is protecting her from her ex and her mother but because he is falling for her, something he swore he would never do, be in love.

Thanks to 1852 Media and the authors for letting me read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

If you haven’t dived into the Gamebreakers series by Elise Faber and Kat Mizera yet, let me ask just one question—why not? Because you, my romance-loving friend, are seriously missing out on one epic, heart-pounding, emotionally-charged ride. And Dealbreaker, Book 3 in this addictive series, tripled every single one of those feels.

At the center of this story is Willow St. Claire—Hollywood royalty, adored on-screen but shattered behind the scenes. She’s the biggest movie star in the world, yet beneath the glitter and glam is a woman carrying the deep scars of betrayal from someone who was supposed to love her. My heart broke for her.

Enter Dash—a man who knows danger, who protects the rich and famous for a living, but never expected her. From the moment Willow hears his voice, she feels safe. And from that moment on, Dash is all in. He takes slow, deliberate steps to earn her trust, and it’s beautiful to witness. His quiet strength, his protectiveness, the way he sees her—not the celebrity—had me swooning.

Their chemistry? Electric. Their connection? Unshakeable. Watching Willow slowly begin to heal, to reclaim her light and her life, was breathtaking. Watching Dash fall for her—and fight for her—was nothing short of mouthwatering. Add in his amazing family and friends who wrap Willow in warmth and support, and you’ve got a romance that gives found family, slow-burn tenderness, and high-stakes suspense all in one.

But just when things start to feel safe, danger looms. Because when someone as precious as Willow starts to shine again, there are always shadows trying to steal that light. But Dash? He’s not about to let anything—or anyone—take her from him.

Elise Faber and Kat Mizera have once again delivered a knockout. Dealbreaker is sexy, emotional, protective hero perfection. A story of survival, healing, and the kind of love that rebuilds you piece by beautiful piece.

This game breaker series is the bees knees . Great in fact . I love to read Elize Faber and Kat Mizera books because they’re just what the doctor ordered , together working on these ,they’re on fire. Willow is found by Hudson out cold in a coma on the hospital corridor ,what’s more he finds out that she has an abusive boyfriend ,she needs protection from though persuading her of that he’ll have to see. The Dash family welcome her in with open arms ,and eventually she starts to let go a little but not wanting to fall at first for his charms in case she’s disarmed . She didn’t stand up for herself with her ex and I think she wears the guilt of this and it’s complex. This gentle man does all he can and she feels safe enough to vex her annoyance at him but later says sorry. She’s a sorry state and no mistake ,thanks to Dylan the rake . She’s a famous actress Willow St. Claire but she’s been undermined by her infamous ex at every turn and feels overshadowed like she can’t breathe without his permission. Hudson Dash happens to be in the right place at the right time ,recovering on the same corridor that he found her in . He reads to her until she comes out of her trance state, it’s so sweet and he’s so protective of her thinks she’s great and she’s all demure and all but things hot up pretty swift if you catch my drift ,the chemistry is aflame with desire . The family dynamics in this are bliss and something to admire… Great writing amf the storytelling is compelling..

Dealbreaker is the perfect way to enjoy some time reading a really fun story. Kat Mizera and Elise Faber have bounced their ideas off each other and come up with a seamless jewel.

Willow is that woman of the big screen who has always been loved. But with that kind of adoration, can come others that want to manipulate her successes. Sometimes being groomed occurs without even being recognized.

Hudson, or Dash as his friends call him, Is all alpha. Equipped with skill, strength, size and power he is the guy you want at your side when things go bad. But under that skin, life can be prickly and sad.

Different circumstances may have caused them to be in the same place, but we all know “ya know when ya know.’ Compassion is a blessing that sometimes is discovered when one is not looking for it. And as someone said, “Life is too short not to enjoy chocolate cake...or something like that." Hahaha Through all the battles and discoveries, I found myself cheering these two on. Not sure my chants were heard, but I am still glad with the results.

Dealbreaker is Book 3 in the Gamebreakers series and does not disappoint in any way. From an unknown meeting to nurse Renita to discovering that family really is not blood deep, you will enjoy. Great job ladies and worth all the stars. Now, on to the next adventure!

Willow St Claire is an actress in a coma at the hospital where Hudson Dash is recovering from his surgery after he broke his hip protecting Jade Cantrell. When Hudson overhears Willow's fiance, a very well known director, threaten what he will do to her if she doesn't wake up, Dash knows he has to do something. Dash spirits Willow away without anyone knowing, and gives her a safe place to recuperate. Willow is rightfully scared that her ex will try to find her, especially as her overbearing mother signed over power of attorney to him and he has been siphoning off her money. But when Hudson introduces Willow to his sister Briar and his found family, Atlas, Banks (Aspen) and Royal (Jade), she starts to feel a sense of belonging. As feelings deepen, between Dash and Willow, Dash has to learn to let Willow live her life without smothering her, something his alpha self has a lot of trouble doing. Of course, the real star of this series is Frankie, Briar's adorable daughter.

For this being a co-wrote book, the story is seamless. It flows so easily, the characters are engaging and this book, the third in the series, is just as fantastic as the first two. I am so looking forward to Atlas's story next. Anyone who can make the reclusive billionaire tongue tied, is going to be a winner.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Ms. Faber and Ms.Mizera once again play with our hearts and emotions. Dealbreaker is the third book in the Gamebreakers series and we finally get Hudson's, Dash's, story. This duo has delivered a book that is filled with love, chemistry, friendships and found family. But most of all, it is a story of two people who start as strangers but there is something there that is more than just two strangers who become friends.
Dash, owner of Gamebreaker Security, while recovering in the hospital, falls for his sleeping beauty. The only thing is that his sleeping beauty, or princess as he calls her, is the famous actress Willow St. Claire and she is in a coma. Something about her draws him to her and deep down, he feels that she is in danger. Finding out why she is in the hospital has Dash's protective side coming out, but not because it's his job; but his heart and mind are involved this time. Willow is a frightened woman who has no reason to trust Dash but her heart tells her he will keep her safe. Her past comes to the surface and it has Dash falling more and more in love with her. They have chemistry that grows more and more and living in the same house makes it even easier. Add in the family of friends Dash has, who also embrace Willow, and you have a beautiful story that will have you feeling the love shared.

4.5 Stars

This is the third installment of the series and I love how we still get to interact with all the characters even though each book is surrounding a new couple. It's like being home with old friends or family. This duo works seamlessly, I can't tell who is writing which parts.

Hudson "Dash" is in the hospital recovering after the incident at Jade's concert when he overhears things in another room from the hall. He doesn't like what he hears. Soon he is keeping an eye on the sleeping beauty in the room. Always a protector, he starts to watch the comings and goings. Before he knows it he is in the room reading to her when he can't sleep at night.

Willow's life has not been her own in so long she can't remember. But waking in the hospital afraid for her life after the fight that put her in the hospital. Worried about what will happen next for her. But she wakes to Hudson, wanting to help her and give her her life back.

Watching Hudson's family step up for Willow when they didn't even know who she was. Her struggles to find her place while being out of sight for her own safety. Watching the relationship grow between Hudson and Willow was sweet but not without issues.

Excited for the next book in the series.

Willow and Dash ❤️

Willow is an A lister actress. Controlled, and abused by a devious psycho fiancé. Dash is a body guard. His job is to protect people. Until this latest injury. Somehow, they both end up in a hospital together, at the same time. Both healing. Willow is in a coma due to domestic violence from her fiancé and Dash from getting hurt on a job. Not being able to sleep one night as he’s walking the halls of the hospital hallway he hears the controlling fiancé talking to Willow about taking her home and ending her. He doesn’t like what he hears and his protective side comes to the surface. He calls his friends who are like his family and they somehow get Willow out of the hospital before her fiancé can get her home and do her more harm. Slowly Willow begins to learn to trust again and – falls in love. What I loved about this story is that domestic violence can happen to anybody and it happens in every walk of life. And I loved how the story walks through the way Willow had to regain trust in the very simplest of things also, Dash was still grieving his brother in arms who was killed on his last tour – blames himself for not being there and able to protect him. This story also was wonderful. I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait for the next one.

Gamebreakers #3

Hudson Dash is 28 and runs an elite security and bodyguard firm catering to the rich and famous. After a job lands him in the hospital with a hip replacement he is now itching to get out. But one night while walking the hallway he overhears a man saying threatening things to a female patient so he waits until he leaves.

Willow St. Claire an actress, has been in the hospital for a month in a coma and there's no timeline on her coming out. When Hudson hears the threats he goes in to check on her and then comes by everyday reading to her and finally talks her out of the coma. Willow has been a victim of domestic abuse and is scared of what will happen to her if she gets out of the hospital. Dash offers to help her and they both leave the hospital with Dash taking her to his house.
Willow knows that she will have to prove what happened to her since she kept up appearances to show otherwise.

Dash and Willow grow close as he works on her case and getting her to trust again. All his family has rallied around Willow and made her a part of it too, but is it enough?

What a wonderful story! Hudson (aka Dash) and Willow meet in the most unconventional way, but this strangers-to-soulmates story has all the feels!

Bodyguard Dash is recovering in the hospital following a hip replacement after being injured on the job. While there, he becomes fascinated with Willow St. Claire, an actress who is in a coma, after hearing her boyfriend/fiance accuse her of faking her coma and threatening to kill her when she wakes up. Needing to be close to his Sleeping Beauty, Dash begins reading to the mysterious woman each night and becomes her knight in shining armor when Willow wakes up and is afraid for her life.

Ever the protector, Dash takes Willow back to his house to keep an eye on her... and it's not long at all before these two are falling in love.

The connection between these two characters was so rich. Willow is dealing with some serious trauma, and Hudson immediately becomes a safe space for her. But because of the abuse she suffered in the past, there are some issues that they run into as they embark on a romantic relationship of their own. Giving her time and grace is the best gift Hudson can give to her, because Willow just blossoms into a different person. She believes in her strength, and channels her anger at her ex and her wicked mother to fight back brilliantly. Along the way, the Gamebreakers family adopts Willow as one of their own, and she fits right in.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Dealbreaker is another fantastic collaboration in the Gamebreaker series between two of my favorite authors.
It was easy to fall for both Hudson Dash with his protective personality that comes out in spades when he finds a female patient in a coma on the same hospital floor as he is recovering being threatened by a male visitor. He knows he needs to find a way to not only keep her safe but he needs to find a way to eliminate the threat and once he finds out who she is, and that is Willow St. Claire a famous actress, he knows he needs the help of his security company and his friends.
Willow is sweet with a big heart but has lost herself under the influence of her famous boyfriend and his manipulative ways. Now, with the protection and care of Hudson and his friends she is finally discovering who she is again and where she wants her life to go and she knows she definitely wants Hudson Dash to be a big part of her future.
I loved these two together as they navigated this unexpected relationship where they seem to understand and support each other but most importantly they found the love they needed with one another.

I was hooked on this emotional delight from the very first page! Elise Faber and Kat Mizera are teaming up to bring us the Gamebreakers series and the group of guys that this series revolves around are really great. They have been friends for years and have a deep connection. Each one is slowly finding their forever love and taking the gang along for the ride as they add on to their little family. This book is Hudson's book and quickly jumps into the heart of the storyline. Willow is vulnerable and easy to take under our proverbial wing as she grows closer to Hudson and his crew. The emotional depth of this book is powerful and the underlying issues are showcased in just enough detail to get the point across without making the story overwrought with sadness. I loved getting to know Willow and Hudson through each other's eyes and seeing the depth of love simple kindness can inspire. Great characters, well developed plot and lots of emotion and turmoil to keep us reading. Loved them and can't wait for what's up next for the gang!

I am loving this series, a group of college friends who are all alphas and the women they fall in love with.
When Hudson “dash” is injured on the job, he finds himself in the hospital recovering. Nighttime boredom has him wandering the halls where he overhears a man saying horrible things to a woman lying in a coma. Dash does a little more snooping and soon finds himself filling in for the nurses who are reading to the woman. When she wakes, she is scared and he knows the threat is real.
Willow St. Claire is a famous actress who found herself in an abusive relationship, she knows when she wakes that her fiancé will eventually either get her pregnant or kill her.
Dash to the rescue as he takes Willow to his home and since he has his own security company, he knows she will be safe. A friendship quickly turns into more but the threat of the ex-fiancé is still a problem.
Oh how I love this happy world the these two awesome authors have created. It’s full of love, laughs and a family bond that can’t be broken.

This might be my favorite book in the series so far!
We met Dash in the previous book, and he's at a rehab facility taking care of his hip after surgery. The hairs on the back of his neck go up when he hears a man yelling about another patient in the facility. A woman. He knows that this man is dangerous and he makes it his mission to protect this woman no matter what.

Willow St. Clair is a famous actress in an awful relationship. She wants out, but she doesn't know how to get away from him. When he pushes her, she falls and ends up in a coma. It's almost a blessing because this might be the best and easiest way to get away from his abuse.

Especially when Dash's voice starts to bring her out of that coma. He reads to her each night and slowly falls for her. His protection of her starts when she wakes up and continues through their romantic interludes.

This was a wonderful bodyguard romance with a twist. And they are perfect for each other from the moment they first kiss. Can't wait to read this book again.

Dash is part of the elite bodyguard company and is in the hospital recovering from a bad fall… or I should say tackle lol.

Dash overhears a man speaking harshly to a woman and it piques his interest. Dash recognizes the woman to be Willow St Clair, a beautiful famous actor. While keeping watch over Willow, he begins reading to her and eventually she wakes up. Willow tells Dash about her abusive Fiancé’ and his diabolical plans for her and without any thought, Dash takes her on as a new client.

Dash breaks the rules and hides her at his house to keep her safe. There he can watch her 24/7. Willow is doing her best to get her life back and begin her independence with Dash and his friend’s help. Along the way, Dash and Willow find safety and love in each other. But danger is still ahead, and Dash and the rest of the gang will have to go all out to keep her safe.

This book is both swoon worthy and painful. And I loved every second of it.

This is my first by this author duo and will not be my last.

We adored Willow and Hudson's engaging story, filled with drama, angst, emotional entanglements, beautiful friendships, and family. dynamics. While Willow's hospitalization was a difficult moment, we were captivated by the beginning of her and Hudson's love story.

The characters were fantastic, portraying love, genuineness, and engaging personalities. Willow is navigating a challenging period in her life, finding solace in Hudson's support and protection as she works through her issues. Surrounded by Hudson's friends and family. She is gradually healing and growing stronger each day.

Hudson is a caring and protective man, providing Willow with the love and support she needs. Their chemistry and trust in each other are evident as they navigate the challenges of their past and present together.

Their relationship has its ups and downs, with past issues occasionally resurfacing to test their bond. However, through patience and kindness, they overcome these obstacles and build a loving and happy relationship.

Irresistible Romance with a Perfect Touch of Suspense!

DealBreaker by Kat Mizera, the third book in the Gamebreakers series and is a captivating blend of high-stakes suspense and slow-burn romance that had me hooked from page one.
High-profiler actress Willow St. Claire is everything you’d hope a Hollywood star would be: smart, kind, strong, and stunning with a bit of a troubled past. Dash has some of his own demons that he is dealing with and running from. The chemistry between her and her and Dash is electric, and their emotional connection is just as powerful.

As their storyline progresses, layers of trust, vulnerability, and passion developed between them. There are so many heartfelt moments, witty dialogue, and just enough tension and suspense, especially when Willow’s past threatens their future. An absolute page-turner!
This story delivers on every level—romance, suspense, emotion—and proves that sometimes, love is the most dangerous risk of all. If you’re looking for a heartfelt and thrilling read with characters you'll root for, DealBreaker is a must!
