I bought this anthology PURELY for Roxie Rivera's contribution; Collateral which is the first book in her new series; Debt Collection and I LOVED it!!! Ben was HAWT (as are ALL of Roxie's men!!) and I can't wait to read more from this new series of hers!!!

And while I haven't read the other books in this anthology, I will definitely get around to them as they sound pretty awesome as well.

Okay, so the truth is I only bought this for the Roxie Rivera novella, Collateral (Debt Collection #1), and so far it's all I've read in this anthology. I'll rate Collateral as a solid 4 stars.

Debt Collection is a new series that is a spin-off of R.R.'s Fighting Connolly's and Her Russian Protector series'. This novella features Ben Beciraj--nephew to the Albanian mob boss, Besian Beciraj. Ben was first introduced in The Fighting Connolly's book, In Jack's Arms. At least I THINK that's when Ben first showed up, if he was mentioned in earlier books, I have forgotten. Anyway, Collateral is Ben and Aston's story. Aston is living a polar opposite lifestyle than Ben. She's an heiress and set to eventually be CEO of her late-father's company. But when the one possession that she holds so dear is stolen, Aston heads to dangerous, scary territory to get it back. Enter Ben: Car booster, mob enforcer, mechanic and the son of a mob boss and a prostitute. Obviously sparks fly and those sparks are hot--This is Roxie Rivera, here, it's smokin'! Since it's Roxie Rivera, not only is it smokin', it's also full of suspense and cartel/mafia intrigue. If you've already read R.R.'s other stuff, this will be a quick, steamy and fun read; if you haven't, there's the possibility that you could become confused or annoyed a little bit about the name dropping--Sergei, Nikolai Kalasnikov, Lalo Contreras, Guzman, etc. It's all one big on-going drama in Houston. And it's awesome.

There were a few typos that I noticed, but I was so darn happy to be reading this that I didn't care. I'm ready for Marley and Besian's story, too. Bring it on, Roxie Rivera!

A BARGAIN

I bought this book bundle primarily for the Roxie Rivera story, I had already read Caged Wolf an offbeat romance. But at the time I downloaded this it was so cheap, it was a real bargain. I won't go into each story as there are quite a few here. There's something I'm sure to suit everyone's taste. Besides I just couldn't resist a collection featuring hot alpha men.

When I first started reading the Alphas After Dark books i had only ever read two of the authors listed. That would be Vivian Arend, and Kit Rocha. I am glad too say that I have found some new authors to now add to my collection.

Marie Halls book is Rumpels Prize. An interesting twist on the fairytales we read as kids. 5 Stars
Vivian Arends book is Copper King. This is the first time reading a book in her shape shifting series, and i look forward to reading the other books related to the Takhini Shifters series. 5 Stars.

Deanna Chases book is Marked by Temptation (Coven Pointe, 1)This is the start of a new series and I will be sure to keep a look out for the next book in this series. This is a Bourbon Street Spin Off. 5 Stars

M.Malones book is called Tank. This is also a spin off from the Alexanders series. This book is also the beginning of the Blue Collar Billionaires series. 5 Stars

Crista McHughs book is Shattered Web and is A Deizian Empire story featuring Marcus and Sexta. 5 Stars

Kit Rochs book is Beyond Solitude and is Ford and Mia's story. Nothing is better then reading an O'Kane story. 5 Stars

Roxie Rivera's book is Collateral and spinoff from her Russian Protectors Series. This story is Arben Beciraj and Aston McNeil's story. 5 Stars

Mimi Strong's book is Blue Roses and the start of her new Baker Street Romance Series. The first one is Luca and Tina's story, and very funny. 5 Stars

SM Reine's book is Caged Wolf. This was an interesting story of the Paranormal, and throw in a tarot card and things start happening in a place called Lobo Norte. 5 Stars

I gave all these stories 5 stars because they kept me interested in what I was reading and did not disappoint.

Each story will be independently rated.

Copper King by Vivian Arend: 4 stars
Jim is a workaholic lady's man and Lillie has escaped...something for one last hurrah. When they meet, sparks fly. I kind of figured out the ending, but Jim & Lillie's antics kept me entertained the whole way through.

Marked by Temptation by Deanna Chase: 3.5 stars
I liked this one. The world is interesting (angels, witches, demons), the action is relentless, and the characters are likeable. The last bit of the story crammed a whole lot of action and information into a very short bit of reading. However, I would certainly read more from this author.

So far I have only read Kit Rocha's Beyond Solitude and Vivian Arend's The Copper King.

I loved Beyond Solitude. Despite being a novella, the characters were well developed and the plotline was tight. It's one of my favourites in the Beyond series, and I have liked them all!

I really liked the Copper King as well. The interaction between Jim and Lilie was sweet, and believable. I also liked Jim's relationship and interaction with his best friend.

I like picking up anthologies and bundles because they are an economical way to introduce myself to new authors and find new series to read. I picked this one up specifically for Vivien Arend's Copper King.

Copper King (Takhini Shifters #1)
by Vivian Arend-A shy and secretive black bear shifter meets an alpha (slightly bipolar) grizzly bear and the results are hot enough to melt copper making an unexpected happily ever after.

Marked By Temptation (A Coven Pointe Novella)
by Deanna Chase-Basically, sex, because, well sex. No real plot or characterization, this is more erotica than anything else. It isn't poorly done, or poorly written, but it doesn't make me wish to see how the story line across the series might play out.

Rumpel's Prize (Kingdom #8)
by Marie Hall This is the eighth book in a series that looks at the HEA's of the villains of our beloved fairy tales. The only thing I guess I have to say to this, is that I'd never wondered why precisely Rumpelstiltskin made the deals he did. Well written and enjoyable. This was my first introduction to this series and I think I'll be looking into the rest of them.

TANK (Blue-Collar Billionaires #1)
by M. Malone-DNF The oddly done first person writing style did not make reading this enjoyable.
Shattered Web (Deizian Empire #4)

by Crista McHugh-This is the 4th book in this series. It was well written and the characters were relatable and the world McHugh has created seems interesting. It seems like a magic infused off planet version of the roman empire. The heroine is a former brothel madam turned ship's captain and the hero is the emporer's best friend and in the military. I enjoyed it quite a bit, however it doesn't seem to work well as a stand alone. I will be going back to read the first three entries in this series.

Caged Wolf (The Tarot Witches #1)

by S.M. Reine-Cooper and Ofelia are two incredibly scarred and damaged individuals with strange hidden depths. This story starts out aggressively and just gets better. It is a bit overly dramatic but it escapes the world building pitfall of info-dumping. This is a dark story with bondage, pain, and violence, but I could not put it down.

Collateral (Debt Collection)
by Roxie Rivera-This is a spin off from Her Rssian Protector and Fighting Connollys seriesPretty, good girl, American social princess meets Albanian mafia connected chop shop owner who promptly blackmails her into a "relationship" over things her asshole stepbrother has done. It turns out the good girl isn't so good and the bad boy isn't so bad, but the stepbrother is still definitely an ass. There's mild info-dumping on the backgrounds of the two main characters' backgrounds but since most of it is in dialogue it isn't particularly irritating or distracting. This story is trite but it is non stop action. I sound disparaging, but actually this was a pretty fun read.

Beyond Solitude (Beyond #4.5)
by Kit Rocha-This is what I affectionately label "plot porn". Mostly it is about the sex and titillation, but Kit Rocha has also built an interesting post apocalyptic dystopian world. There isn't any info dumping so you have to glean what the world and the culture is for the most part. Mia and Ford are hot together and they mesh well with each other. There's the usual misunderstanding and a bit of drama, but it doesn't seem contrived, it fits well with what we learn about the cultures and the sectors as well as the personalities of the hero and heroine. I'll be reading the rest of this series once I get my hands on them.

Blue Roses
by Mimi Strong-Tina and Luca are interesting and neurotic characters, especially Luca who is an enticing blend of alpha and sweetness. The story is mostly sweet rather than sexy, but there is enough of that to keep the story moving. The main characters did not pull me in as much as the side characters though. I'm looking forward to Rory's story more than I was interested in these two characters.

Ok, so I wanted to read this series because M. Malone's Tank was included in this anthology, and, boy, oh boy, am I glad I did. It is a fantastic read. I first met Tank in her Alexander Family series and immediately was intrigued by him, so I was beyond ecstatic to find out that he would be getting his own book. And then to find out that it would be the first book in her new series, Blue Collar Billionaires was like waking up on Christmas morning to find out that I really did get that Barbie Dream House. I never expected a whole series, but Ms. Malone has a wonderful way of crafting intriguing series around exceptional families and extended friends. And to make things even better, Tank also was enclosed with these other wonderful book. It was beyond a girl's wildest dreams!! What a great deal for me!!

All I have to say is that I thoroughly enjoyed Tank!!! Tank Marshall, the first in M. Malone's Blue Collar Billionaire series is filled with hot, sexy and uber Alpha men that will have you panting and asking when is the next book in this series coming out. Tank, the quiet, brooding, mysterious and oh, so serious employee of Elliott Alexander has been through a lot in his life and he is about to go through even more. However, maybe this time, it just might turn out to be exactly what he needs. Tank is a protector, always has been and always will be. He has protected his mother, the people he is employed to protect, and even his younger brother, Finn, although I don't think he needs much protecting!! :)!! Yet, who has truly protected Tank. And he has done it all without realizing just how lonely he truly is until he meets her...Emma Shaw!!! Finally he has found someone that makes him whole and with whom he can truly be himself. Tank and Emma's journey is an extremely enjoyable ride and will leave you wanting more of this couple. Thank Goodness this is a series!! I loved the fact that Tank was straight forward with his words and didn't play any games with Emma. I loved that Emma was such a strong and independent woman, determined to make it on her own.

Overall, M. Malone does an excellent job of intertwining her characters from the Alexander Family series with this new series, Blue Collar Billionaires. She also has wonderfully set the stage for the unfolding of the mysteries to be discovered in the rest of the series. I can't wait to discover them. Excellent job, Ms. Malone. Oh, and please hurry up and put out the next book in this remarkable series based around yet another wonderful and loving family that is still discovering itself!!!

Copper King-3 Stars

I liked it just fine despite it being predictable but I felt like it was missing something as it left me dissatisfied.

Marked By Temptation-4 Stars

I really enjoyed reading this story, I loved the world that was familiar but yet different. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by this new to me author.

Rumpel's Prize-2 Stars

This author has quite the imagination which I love however the corniness and cheesiness especially at the beginning of the story coupled with the lack of allowing the reader to discern certain things for themselves almost made this a did not finish read for me but because I'm anal and must finish every book I start I was able to finish it. On the positive note I loved the hero's nickname of Carrot for the heroine it's not a name that should be both endearing and swoon-worthy but it so was *dreamy sigh*

Tank-3.5 Stars

Predictable but enjoyable.

Shattered Web-2 Stars

I liked the world the author created, I found it both interesting and intriguing however I didn't like the main characters because I couldn't understand why they wanted to be together when there was no trust between them.

Caged Wolf-2 Stars

Intriguing premise, I strongly disliked how it ended.

Collateral-4 Stars

I liked this story and I'm looking forward to reading the next in this series.

Beyond Solitude-4 Stars

I really enjoyed this latest installment in the Beyond series. I especially how grumpy, growly and snarly Derek was and also how sweet he was to Mia. I liked that despite it being a novella you could still see the growth in Mia and the fact that someday soon she'd be able to stand on her own.

Blue Roses-3 Stars

This is a cute, sweet and quirky read that I liked.

Several of the stories in this anthology are paranormal or fantasy which I normally don't read. I am only reviewing Roxie Rivera's story Collateral at this time and will move this review over to that story when it is released by itself next month.

Collateral by Roxie Rivera
I was excited to get my hands on this anthology because it has Roxie Rivera's novella, Collateral, in it. This is the first book in her Debt Collection series. We met Ben briefly in the book In Jack's Arms and when I found out he was getting the first book in the new spinoff series, I was disappointed. I really wanted Besian and Marley's story (but the author is making us wait on that one. I guess thats a good thing, hopefully that will be a full novel instead of a novella).

I actually underestimated Ben. He was much yummier than I had imagined and I liked the story very much. Now here's the thing about Roxie Rivera...her stories aren't amazing, the writing isn't spectacular, but she has created this whole soap opera of underground mafiaosa types that I just cannot get enough of. Her books are pure guilty pleasures and I love them. Since they all tend to build off each other and interconnect, I recommend that readers start from the beginning and read My Russian Protector series, then move to the Fighting Connolly's next. You can read this one as a stand-alone but you miss the all the history of the supporting characters and the by-plays that are happening throughout the book.

I cannot wait to read Besian and Marley's book, Past Due, scheduled to be released in the summer of 2014. Top of my TBR list for sure!

I have only read 5 out of the 8 stories in Alphas After Dark and I really enjoyed the stories that I read. I mainly bought Alphas After Dark for a copy of Beyond Solitude as I have been enjoying the Beyond series and didn't want to wait an extra month for the single release of the title and I don't regret not wait and buying other stories with it.
Copper King by Vivian Arend is my second favourite read of Alphas After Dark. I've read and enjoyed the Takhini Wolves series and so was happy to read this but it was a lot better than I expected.
Rumpel's Prize by Marie Halls was a interesting and very different read, I'm not sure if I'd delve into the already established series but I enjoyed the twist on Rumpelstiltskin. A sort of beauty and the beast but not.
Caged Wolf by S M Reine was super weird and different and I have never read anything like it before but it was really interesting and I'm planning into looking more into this series.
Collateral by Roxie Rivera was everything I had expected from her Russian series and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the rest of this spin-off series and hoping it will remain just as good.
Beyond Solitude by Kit Rocha was a super excellent read and I liked that there were no spoilers for Beyond Jealousy as Beyond Solitude is set during the same time. Derek and Mia are great characters and I really enjoyed their story and seeing more into the O'Kane world.

Alphas After Dark is an amazing boxed setting containing 9 great stories. I enjoyed all the stories but I'm only reviewing my favorite stories.

Vivian Arend's story Coppery King is set in the Granite Lake and Takhini Wolves shifter world. Since I have read all of those books, I was very happy to read this story. Jim and Lillie were great characters and the twist at the end is so amazing. The notes that Lillie left were a nice touch...I love little details like that in stories.

Marie Hall's Rumpel's Prize is definitely the best out of her Kingdom series so far...I have loved all of her Kingdom series but Rumpel's Prize was so so good, my new favorite. I loved how she introduced more characters...which makes me happy because I definitely don't want this series to end anytime soon.

Roxie Rivera's Collateral was a great addition to her Russian Mob series. I love how she makes the bad guys look good but still keeps them bad...if that makes sense. Anyway, Ben is a great baddie hero. Just wish I could have read the details on the end of Calvin...I might be a little bloodthirsty ;-).

Mimi Strong's Blue Roses was really really good. The romance as good but the witty banter between the two sisters and the best friend is what really made the story. I will never think of scrabble the same way again.

Highly recommend this boxed set!!!

4/6/14 - I bought this set for Roxie Rivera's contribution, Collateral and I was not disappointed at all. Ben was hotter than expected, and Aston was the perfect match for him. Can't wait for Besian's story from this series.

I will probably read the others and will update my review and rating as I do, but Roxie gets 5 stars for Collateral.

4/8/14 - Read M. Malone's Tank. This one gets 5 stars too. Tank felt real and so did Emma. I really liked the family interaction and look forward to the books for the other brothers, especially Zack.

4/9/14 - Read Kit Rocha's Beyond Solitude which gets 5 stars too. I really loved the post apocalyptic world the characters live in, enough that I will probably read the others in this series. Derek Ford was another drool worthy alpha male and Mia a good match for him.

4/11/14 - Finished Blue Roses by Mimi Strong today, this one gets 3 stars. I liked Tina and Luca to a degree but at times I felt like I was reading about a couple of teenagers, I did enjoy the premise of the story overall though.

While there are many wonderful stories included in this anthology, my review is for COLLATERAL; the first instalment of the new Debt Collection spin off series by Roxie Rivera which is linked to both Her Russian Protector and the Fighting Connolly series.
Readers first met the sexy, muscled mechanic Ben Beciraj in, In Jack’s Arms and I’m sure they realised right away that he would be making an impact in the future.
In Collateral, Ben is faced with a very real Uptown Girl meets the wrong guy in the wrong place scenario; but Ben soon learns that chemistry and attraction are impossible to ignore when temptation is put in your path.
I have never been disappointed with a Roxie Rivera novel, and Collateral is no exception; so if you loved the Russians and the Connolly brothers, you will definitely find a special place in your heart for this smokin`hot bad boy with a lot of love to give.

I was gifted a copy of Collateral by Roxie Rivera. That's the only Book I've read in this Box Set.

Review only for Collateral by Roxie Rivera *4 stars*

Collateral is a Novella, only about 94 pages. Same length as Ivan

I really liked Collateral. It was a quick read, setting up a spin-off series from Her Russian Protectors. I really suggest you read those first.
I liked the Characters,Ben, Ashton, and Marley. I like a good strong Heroine. Ashton was. She went and done her thing at the shop and was trying to get her fathers car back. She didn't take no crap from them. Ben, was pretty awesome. I Felt sorry for him, because of the the life he had. He didn't have it like Ashton,Rich with a good like. I really liked Ben.

I really Suggest you read Her Russian protectors and Fighting Connollys Series.

Can't wait for the second book.

I read Crista McHugh’s contribution in this nine book bundle, Alpha’s After Dark. I just started reading Ms. McHugh and Shattered Web is the first book that I’ve read in the Deizian Empire series. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this book. From the outset you felt the chemistry between Sexta and Marcus. It was a shorter novel than I expected and read it in one sitting. I plan on going back and reading the first three books in this series. I look forward to reading the remaining eight books in this bundle as some of the authors are new to me and it’s a great way to pick-up a new author especially at such a great value. I would like to disclose that I received a copy of Shattered Web in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I gave this assortment of stories 4 stars, mostly because of the Marie Hall book, which continues her kingdom series! This story features Rumple, yes that Rumple, and Shayera Caron, daughter of Gerard and Betty from her previous book. I loved the romance, danger and intrigue that this book, like all her others, and can't wait for the next one coming out in July!! I also did enjoy two more stories from this collection and for .99 it was one hell of a bargain!!

Quite possibly THE BEST anthology I've read lately. The authors I'm familiar with (Kit Rocha, Vivian Arend, Marie Hall, S.M. Reine, Roxie Rivera, and Mimi Strong) didn't disappoint and the new-to-me authors (Deanna Chase, M. Malone, and Crista McHugh) all hooked me with worlds I'd be happy to spend more time in. Loved it!

4 1/2 Stars!

I have only read Collateral by Roxie Rivera so far. So the 4 1/2 stars are for that novella only.

I loved reading about Ben and Aston. Ben intrigued me in In Jack's Arms so it was nice to see him get a chance at something more. I do hope we get to see a little more from them in future books.

Great quick read. If you are a Roxie Rivera fan this one won't disappoint you.
