ASTOUNDING!

“Our objective is the control of power and wealth, the same as everyone else on this planet.”

I was totally blown away with this installment. I had thought book-2 couldn’t get better but, I was very much impressed how this premise blew me out with its atmospheric settings and clever twists mixed with reality. It’s a plausible and entertaining read. Aiden Bailey is an expert in spinning a tale of fear and violence straight from world headlines; it makes you think about the state of the world and who’s really pulling the strings.

A main character and his equally main associate with nerves of steel and horrifying villains and situations and conflicts that have us gripping our seats to see who will come out the winner. A strong, powerful, compassionate character, who in spite of his temporary memory loss felt compelled to save the girl every government, mysterious organisation, and cruel villains wanting to get their dirty hands on, all for their own gain and motives.

“Words, feelings, thoughts, and intentions mean nothing. Only your actions define you.”

With each passing chapter the tension got deeper, the story wilder and twisted, with vertiginous turns that would drive me dizzy with excitement.

A ... rip-roaring, action-packed, and perplexing fiction mashup. Profound, intimate, emotional, sensitive storytelling, passionate,
Aiden Bailey presents another high-octane and complexly twisted narrative. A highly 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ series recommended by me.

“This country of ours, this cage of traitors, where we all have to create false identities to mask how we all feel, just to survive…”

If you like good thrillers with a plot that is not like everything else, then you should try the Trigger Man series by Aiden Bailey. Cage of Traitors is the third book about Mark Pierce and it's the best one yet in this series. The books have actually only gotten better with each new story. It was a fast paced story with a lot of deception going on. It is as always well written and it's hard to put down once you started it. I can really recommend this for me new author. I have to thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for making it available to me.

I hope you are a reader of The Trigger Man series. If this is your genre, then you know you’ve struck gold!

In Cage of Traitors, Aidan Bailey puts The Trigger Man in some incredible geographies, but way more often, he’s fighting for his very life in tense situations in second and third world countries. Or he’s trying to rescue people kidnapped and imprisoned in these forsaken places. And he’s doing all that while hardly surviving, and hampered greatly by a sketchy memory from a car wreck in Chapter One! You will encounter scary, unimaginable evil villains doing the worst things against humanity in this book.

If you are a fan of The Trigger Man series, you’ll know the man we love to hate — Idris Walsh, who somehow survived what should have been a fatal, earlier attack by TTM. The author made Walsh such a convincing villain. I held him in incredibly high disdain whenever he appeared in the earlier books. You’ll find out if Walsh survives to cause more world havoc and wreck even more lives.

You’ll also learn more about Mark Pierce. How this trained assassin is such a great human is the gift of Aiden Bailey’s imagination and writing! Gift yourself this book — you will be glad you did!

Wow, wow, wow Cage of Traitors is a very thrilling read with a title that couldn't be more apt! It picks up about 3 months after the end of Deep Cover with Pierce in Rio Da Janeiro. What follows is a very well written story that is fast paced, full of action and suspense. After how the previous book ended I wasn't sure what to expect and all I can say is what a riveting read! The plot line is so intricate and well thought out, there are lots of story threads that certainly grabbed and held my interest and layers upon layers of deceit, lies and subterfuge which makes this such an absorbing read. Who can Pierce trust and who is on his side? I'm glad a previous character returned and hope for same in the next book. Pierces character and history is still very much a mystery, which I find really intriguing, and I want to know more about him. I really like the ending which sets the scene for the next book and I'll be looking to read it to see what is next in store for this character. If you like books with a spy/espionage theme and lots of action and thrills, I'd recommend this series.

I received an ARC through "Booksprout" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This story begins with Mark Pierce (Triggerman) in a n accident. In his vehicle are a man and a woman. Mark has hit his head and he has no short-term memory, so he doesn't know who the people in the car are. He cuts the man loose and that gentleman tried to kill him. Mark decides it's time to leave so he and the woman head off since the man escaped. As they ran, they discovered people chasing them. Eventually they were able to find a place to stay. Amelia, the woman, had contacted Savannah, Amelia's girlfriend to pick them up. Once Mark and Amelia had been picked up, they then were chased by an unknown party.

Read along and find out what the purpose of the chase was and who they were after. Learn of the danger that the group ran into and what addition person came to their rescue. To discover what group was involved, what sort of plans they had for the resources on Venezuala and what act this group had as an attack plan, then you need to read this book.

The ending will answer most of the questions that you had.

This novel starts with Mark Pierce suffering from a amnesia after involving in a car accident and trying to protect a women who may or may not have the answers he was seeking. Old and new enemies emerge from shadows and try to annihilate him but being a tough guy with shrewd mind how he tackles everyone and solve the mystery behind his illness forms the rest of the story.
The premise of the novel may sound like a rehash of Bourne story of a secret agent getting affected by amnesia. But unlike Bourne Pierce was already an established character and we know his strength and bit of backstory. But the beauty of this novel is from start we’re also curious just like Pierce why he was in that place and feels obliged to that women who will certainly face a gruesome death in the hands of a dictator. The major strength of the novel is how story was slowly unraveled to both us and pierce piece by piece interspersed with adequate dose of action and dark humor that makes us keep on turning the pages and once you reach the end you’ll definitely have a huge relief of knowing what’s going to happen next.
As I was writing this review I noticed that within span of 7-8 months Aiden gave one of the best series of this year. Such a detailed explanation of places, tactics and weapons makes us feel like we’re travelling with that character. Also a huge difference from previous novels by placing the story mostly in South America leads to some of the most bloody action scenes and stellar support characters with whom you can empathize and root for. Once again I can confidently say this series was so good like a cross over between Jason Bourne and Court Gentry with liberal dose of current politics so don’t miss it and as usual I’m waiting for the next part. Thanks for reading the review guys Until next time

EXCELLENT – 5 STARS all the way...
Cage of Traitors very much had a Tom Clancy (Jack Ryan) feel to it. What I like about Aiden Bailey’s novels are:
(1) The decisions and the dialogue between characters are intelligent – individuals and groups making smart decisions really enhance his novels.

(2) The plot is intricate, realistic, and multi-faceted, involving a variety of international locations and multi-national characters.

(3) The interaction between CIA HQ and various field operators gives depth to the overall plot.
In the third Trigger Man episode, Mark Pierce’s (Trigger Man) head injury / amnesia causes him to question who to trust with all the conflicting monied interests and political dealings around him. The story primarily takes place in a variety of South American / Caribbean locations with some intelligence individuals working to destabilize Venezuela’s political leadership for personal gain. There is never a dull moment, and the twists and turns go from start to finish.

Racheal Zang comes into play and helps Pierce rescue the release the woman who was in the car who was captured ,where they discover the plot to destroy the Venezuelan Government to release a rabies outbreak and blame it on the Government ,
Very fast paced and Pierce keeps getting flashbacks of Woman being beaten and tied up but can't remember who she is although he thinks it may be Summerfield .Who has been missing for 3months.

What a read this was. Absolutely breath-taking. It's not just non-stop action , it has got a terrific and complex plot where you won't know which end is up.

It was made even more interesting with Mark having some amnesia so has no idea why he is in the position he finds himself in, or who the woman is that he is with.Walsh is still on the scene and we have different groups with vested interests involved. Just when you think things have improved, up pops the other group to create more havoc. The ending sets things up nicely for the next book which really can't come soon enough.

Loved this next book about the Triggerman. This has become one of my favourite Series. Action with twists and turns. I am so looking forward to the next Book as this has ended with such wonderful cliffhangers. Who really is the Triggerman? Many more questions to be answered. Won't elaborate as don't want to put in any spoilers. Even though this is a part of a series can be read as a standalone book. I found this Author, Aiden Bailey, some months ago and I will definitely read anything I find written by him.

Brilliant, I loved it. It’s so easy to get lost in Trigger Mans hectic world and the thrilling ride he takes us on. I still remember book 1 in this series and thinking wow, this is really good. Aiden Bailey a is a talented storyteller, and he’s done an amazing job with this book. Mark Pierce gets himself into some tense situations, and not everyone can do what he can while being shot at. If life didn’t get in the way I could have easily read this in one sitting.
So much to like about the book. Do yourself a favour and read this series. 5/5 Star Rating.

Review: Pretty dam good read. Except for the firearm fails where every rifle that is an "AR' is an Assualt Rifle. It stands for Armalite Rifle Co., dumbass. Also, everyone that is in a hit Team all have a scattered assortment of weapons and calibers. This would not be the case in any Team as the need to swap and feed others with the same mags and ammo is a standard rule where survival is concerned.

This was entertaining as the movement is non-stop. As it is entertainment, the suspension of disbelief is at all time highs. Pierce is in a constant state of near death but somehow manages to take out multiple kill teams while walking around with a head injury that renders him barely cogent. Riiiiiiiiight. Add to this the random instances that support his continued existence and you either toss the POS out the window or settle in for a ride on the BS train.

This novel is now the third consecutive novel I have recently read where the female co-lead is a lesbian and the author pounds on it like feral bunny. Like, who gives a fuk? Wokey or brokey, they say....

3.4/5

The Trigger Man, despite his amnesia and coming to in the middle of a gun fight, takes charge. With no option but to keep moving forward and hoping the flashbacks will answer all the many questions he has.

A thoroughly enjoyable fast paced, all action story with enough plot twists to make you dizzy. Gripping from the very start and ending in a cliffhanger that has you looking out for the next in the series.

This story starts off with a bang and catapults out of control with action and suspense. There is an entire cast of characters to keep track of with their numbers diminishing some over time. The plot twists thru several countries just in case you be bored in one locale. It is a long story but that only is because it takes a while to be a super spy. The pages go by much quicker than you think they will when you become embroiled in the complicated plot.

Cage of Traitors is the third of books about Mark Pierce, otherwise known as The Trigger Man. It is a very complicated story which I think would have made much more sense if I had read the first three. If you had read the first three, you will probably enjoy this one, but--spoiler alert--you will be very anxious for the next one when you are finished. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc with no pressure for a positive review.

CIA operative Mark Pierce suffers a terrible car crash and can't remember anything except that he works for the CIA. Two people claim to have been with him and know him. One is a man claiming to be his superior officer but instead the guy tries to stab Pierce and runs away. Amelia claims Pierce kidnapped her. On the run, Pierce tries to contact the CIA to get help but they think he's went rogue. Excellent writing and edge of your seat suspense make this book a one seating read for sure.

Taking too long

The whole premise of a super secret criminal organisation that has eluded detection from all the major spy agencies has been done numerous times
The bad guy being in multiple places at the same time has been done too and by the exact same methodology
To top it all the whole story is taking a very long time to develop
Each book on their own is a good story, as a series, it is too drawn out to hold your attention
I will go for book 4, but it needs to improve

Trigger Man is back in action w/ a vengeance. After a car accident Pierce ends up w/ amnesia and places a call to the CIA ( FYI he's supposed to be dead) which starts a sequence of events that has a edge of your seat effect so hold on tight cause it's going to be one helluva bumpy ride.

Mark Pierce wakes up in Rio in a crashed car with no short term memory. And then the actions begins.
Quite afew surprises along the way for Mark and his companios and not everybody gets out alive. Maybe the best in the series so far.

Too Much Action?

Bailey has a solid series going here. There are a lot of plates spinning in this book and the author is mostly successful in landing all of them. However the book bogs down toward the end, in an attempt to launch the cliffhanger.

Great story and plenty of action in book 3, only spoiled slightly by a few mistakes and grammatical errors. Finished on a cliffhanger though so need to go and start book 4 immediately.

Another good read

I enjoyed this book very much. If I have a negative comment, it would be that sections of the book were somewhat dragged out. Even so, the characters were great, good story with some nice twists, and plenty of action along the way!
