I highly recommend the Somatic Therapy Workbook for anyone who is ready to understand their condition more deeply and wish for further support with their recovery. It is a well informed book and has easy to read content. This is an important aspect of the book for me as I now struggle to read as it requires a lot of energy to do and my brain doesn't think is safe to use my limited resources in this way. To have a tool that I can utilise with such ease has been a welcome addition to my PTSDC trauma recovery toolbox.
I reached a stage in my recovery where I realised I was stuck in functional freeze mode. I asked the universe to lead me to information that would help me move out of this mindset. The workbook offers easy to understand information and exercises. I started with the breath work and found it to be instantly helpful in bringing my units of distress down. It has enabled me to release some body trauma as well. There is an easy to understand graphic that clearly describes negative emotions and positive emotions that I found beneficial as a reminder of the importance of recognising my emotional state.

The authors have generously added meditations that the reader can download. Love, love, love them. I popped them into my phone so that I can use them anytime.

Thank you to the authors for creating an easy to use tool for those who are bravely addressing their trauma issues. It is appreciated.

The authors are consistently reminding readers to be gentle with ourselves as we work through the exercises. A very good reminder for those suffering with a chronic inner critic.

Must read to transform trauma!

This is an outstanding resource for anyone interested in understanding and healing the mind-body connection. The exercises and techniques presented are both practical and transformative, allowing readers to deeply engage with their own healing processes. This workbook has truly been a game-changer in my personal growth and well-being. Highly recommended for therapists and individuals alike!

Invaluable resource for stress relief

I found the book to have a lot of illustrations to help with deep breathing and posture.

There are free audio guides to help you through this process. The exercise worksheet contains questions to record your feelings after trying out the exercises, which really reinforces the techniques. An added bonus is the visualization technique that I am a great fan of.
