While adventuring, Dave the dwarven cleric displeases the gods and finds himself unable to use his holy abilities. Will he regain them in time to stop a goblin horde from killing Tim, Cooper, Julian, and himself?

The Caverns and Creatures gang is back for another short adventure, this one involving a mass of zombie goblins (gomblies) and a cleric who is having a rough patch of luck, what with having an unholy symbol on his forehead and being the target of endless rats and roaches.

Robert Bevan's vulgar brand of geek humor is present and keeps the story flowing. Dave figures out how to please the gods in a pretty novel way and everything is right with the world.

It's a pretty short story so that's about all I can say without blowing the best jokes. Three out of five stars.

Entertaining fantasy listening

This kindle ebook is from my Kindle Unlimited account

The boys are in the middle of all kinds of action and misdirection on this adventure.

I would recommend this series and author to readers of fantasy world 🌐 adventure thriller novels 🏝😏 2025 🤗🤔

Said it before...

I absolutely love these stories. I remember reading that the author was making character sheets for the party. it will be interesting to see how the adventurers have progressed.

Kindle Unlimited, the writer definitely isn't 'right' but he is on ku, a few binge readings were in my future.

Space Puppies
Flying Toasters - The DeadPixel Tales {one of collection of writers, seems to be permafree}

Check with amazon to see if the 4 pack is still on sale, etc, I got it for 99, the 4 books listed above titled separately under the set. The smaller collections are listed on top of which this one is 1sr of the 2nd collection, but did list them in order AND with the individual stories in each one of those since covering the mini collections here. I read the 4 pack, then the collections, in order, not totally sure it would matter with this genre, do suggest personally that the 4 set then the smaller collections be read in order, it did help in most cases.

Writer does list and say if you have the 2d6 {#2 collection} not need to re/read this as it is the same Sticky White Mess one listed above, which is #5of the 6 book mini collection #2 collection , so yes can get confusing, why I just got the sets Still my opinion to read in order and in sets which is easier anyway. Last checked the entire 6 set{s} was available on ku, so no need to pull up multiple books and no need to worry about order at all. His titles such as cornholed {the next/last of this set} are a bit weird, but then so is the subject matter. Just really have to be part geek DD or the like to get the Clerical Error title joke, but as always that means trouble of some sort.

Is it great literature? No. Is it entertaining? Yes!
It’s a side-quest to the Critical Failure, with the original party. I liked it a lot!

Poor Dave. He just can't catch a break, and it's freaking hilarious. Another great romp through the C&C world of Bevan. If he keeps writing them, I'll keep reading them.

Hilarious

As usual! I love these stories because they remind you that no matter how crappy your life gets at least you aren't covered in roaches and rats!

Classic Bevan

Love the way Bevan imagines divine absolution. It’s more than just fixing Dave’s issue, he gets to help the community!
