Behind the Plaid--Book One
He dominated her mind. She possessed his soul.
Emma Gordon escapes from a troubling marriage in which she’s completely lost sight of who she is. Desperate for independence, she leaves her husband while on a trip in the Scottish Highlands. Only thing is, she ends up hurled back in time to the 16th Century Castle Gealach and headlong into the arms of the handsome, intimidating Laird Logan Grant. Thrust into a world filled with treachery, danger and intensity she must summon the courage to find her way.
Bared to the Laird--Book Two
Secret obsession makes for the sweetest of sins.
Overwhelmed by her new life in another era with the Laird of Gealach, and the feelings that threaten to consume her, Emma determines she must return to her own time and a semblance of sanity. Having heard of a magical circle of stones atop the ridge overlooking Loch Ness, she manages to escape from the castle and the desire and intensity of Logan that’s held her captive. When Logan realizes Emma is missing, he is enraged and terrified. He seeks to find her and when he does, he will punish her exquisitely for leaving him, and for inexplicably exposing his scorching fascination and adoration.
Dark Side of the Laird--Book three
Bound by passion. Freed by love.
When the damaged and tormented Emma first meets the equally broken Logan, they embark on a torrid, emotionally provocative affair that irrevocably changed their lives. Emma has sacrificed her entire being and just when she thinks Logan is willing to do the same, he holds back. Reluctant for their love to be a thing of shadows, Emma issues an ultimatum: commit or say goodbye. But Logan's appeal to the king to grant his wish to marry is denied and instead, Logan is seized and sent to the dungeon with no hope for escape. While in Hell, Logan’s dark past haunts him, threatening to consume him. He must fight to remain the man he’s become with Emma by his side and relinquish the control he’s held onto for a lifetime.
Top Pick – Night Owl Reviews: “Wickedly sinful, arousingly erotic, and delightfully delicious Logan is the stuff that naughty Highlander dreams are made of.”
Lit 4 Ladies: "An illicit love affair is always fun and dangerous, especially set in 16th century Scotland."

This was very good as far as time-travel romances go. However, each story is a novella, not a novel. The whole trilogy is 446 pages. Each book flows right into the next one so, really, I think this should have been just one book.
That aside,I really enjoyed this story. Emma is a runaway who is escaping marriage to a controlling, abusive man. She has no special skills, she's not a doctor, or a scientist. She just escapes, when she can, into stories.
On a visit to Scotland Emma and her husband with his mother visit the ruins of Gealach Castle. She doesn't pay much attention during the tour as she prefers to allow her daydreams to take her away.
One night when Stephen's abuse is too much to face any longer, Emma runs. She runs to the castle and wakes up 500 years in the past.
Emma faces the time she has stumbled to well and does not panic. She is a survivor and she adapts.
Emma also falls in love.
Logan Grant, the Guardian of Scotland, is a terrible womaniser with no thoughts of falling in love or marriage on his mind. Emma changes that, and in turn he teaches her to love herself, her worth.
There is graphic sex in this book -- quite a bit -- and believe me Emma and Logan love sex with each other. If you don't care for such scenes skim but don't skip. They do talk to each other, and there are thoughts that have a little bearing on the story as a whole.
Eliza Knight is one of my favourite authors so I intend to read more of her work.
BEHIND THE PLAID was really cheesy with hot sex thrown in.
Emma gets transported back 500 years as she’s finally leaving her abusive husband. She finds being in a new period as a new chance for her and once she meets Laird Logan, she feels the pull to him.
Soon he’s showing her things she never knew about herself and she’s willing to stay if she can discover what she means to Logan.
As Laird Logan has a lot of enemies and he’s suspicious of Emma at first, but the pull he feels to her overrides any ominous feelings toward her.
He’s keeping his own secrets, but he finds Emma allows him to escape.
********
BARED TO THE LAIRD didn’t live up to the synopsis on the back, nor did it out perform book 1 and book 1 didn’t inspire great expectations.
For some reason the Laird is keeping his ‘tryst’ with Emma a secret so they aren’t together as much in this book as they were.
Emma for some reason wants to go home and she begins receiving threats which makes Logan continue to distance himself. When she receives a threat on Logan’s life if she doesn’t leave she in a circle trying to go home when Logan rescues her and a battle is fought amidst their reunion.
The big reveal of her being a time traveler goes down as the lamest yet as Logan isn’t even surprised.
This the books have it all, time travel (only once though) love, the kind WE all want forever but it usually wanes somewhat, finding courage, learning to have strength, taking care of each other by even going beyond what was comfortable or fearful. Good book, the characters were an even match in all three books which made it interesting. Eliza Knight, you've done it again and again. I would put this right up there in the top of your books! Happy reading
Ho w can you help by love a good highlands story .? I WANTED TO CRAWL RIGHT INTO THIS ONE. This story had every thing in it yet it flowed flawlessly from the future to the past from abuse to heart wrenching love from betrayal to loyalty. I loved it.
I'm glad it was sold as a set since all three books have the same main characters and was a continuation of the story. The relationship between Emma and Logan could have been established a little more rather than jumping right into bed right away. A few less sex scenes wouldn't have been missed. I would have been happier with more character development and storyline. I also found it hard to believe that Emma who was physically and emotionally abused by her husband for many years before leaving her time would move into such a sexual relationship so quickly and without hesitation.
Overall, the story was really good and used some actual events during the time period to build on. The third book was the best with many twists and turns. I really enjoy Scottish Highlander stories so I was happy for another fun read.
Wow what a great trilogy!! I'm not one to recap a story for you, I'll just say what I loved about these books. 1. Hot highland laird. 2. Strong female lead 3. Romance 4. Hot steamy sex ( very descriptive, and sooo freaking hot ) 5. Great story !!! 6. Great price, 99¢ for 3 books awesome!! 7. Time travel , so gives a you a little magic but in Scotland magic is everywhere. 8. Villains, drama, mystery oh my! So if you like to read stories set in either Scotland or Ireland, time travel romance like I have outlined above, don't hesitate, one click BUY these books!!! Eliza Knight is an awesome story teller!!!
Hot, sexy , erotic and a great story!! I loved this trilogy! This is the story of Emma and Logan. I woman from our time and a Laird from 500 years ago. Can Emma adapt to the differences in the future and the past? The Laird isn't supposed to commit to anyone due to his status. The King gets to choose who the Guardian of Scotland marries. The longer that Emma stays she needs to decide what is best not only for herself , but for Logan and his clan also. This series is well written with just enough "magic" to make you wonder about castles and old times in Scotland, but not enough to make you doubt the story.
I love romances set in the highlands and this series was highly satisfying. Throw in a little time travel with your historical romance and you've got a winner. Emma and Logan build thief relationship through love and trust, with a bit of lust thrown in as well. Each book in the trilogy reveals one more secret until these two are tied together forever. Very enjoyable read that I can see myself rereading time and again.
For awhile I was Emma, swept back in time to a place where love knew no bounds. With a man that made me feel alive again! Move over Fifty Shades! Here is one exciting read full of sex, intrigue and heat! Well done!!
I loved this story. it had a little more sex in it than I thought it needed but I saw it helped explain their connection more. the story was written just right for me....had enough drama to keep my interest.
