Magic Coming Undone

Rate this book
Jailed for little more than their identities, half-human, half-witch twins Zoeli and Saria endure torture and starvation in Nightingale Dungeon. As they struggle to escape, their biggest enemies, Uncle Talon and Licinia, hatch a plan to take over Aurelia, the supernatural realm, ensuring that the sisters will be imprisoned forever—or worse.

After one sister negotiates her release, she’ll do anything to free her twin—including striking a deal with a handsome vampire. When she gets more than she bargained for, both her life and heart are at stake.

Their only hope for saving themselves and Aurelia is doing the reversing a decades old curse. Magic coming undone has a ripple exposing betrayals and unraveling lies. The truths that are revealed destroy friendships and break hearts.

If they’re strong enough, they’ll pick up the pieces and put themselves back together. They’ll even find that some things fall apart so better things can come together.

As Zoeli and Saria fight for one another and Aurelia, they discover that the greatest magic of all is the love between sisters. A true magic that can never come undone, as long as they make it through this battle alive.

I jumped into Magic Coming Undone approximately 0.5 seconds after finishing the first book, and let me tell you, it was just as hard to put down as book one. Faith Prince does not let up with the pacing, twists, or drama. ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

First, let’s talk about Saria. I STILL hate her. She’s a brat, she's selfish, and every time I thought she was on the verge of a redemption arc, she'd turn around and do something else frustrating or dumb. That said, I’ll give her this—at least she’s finally loyal to her sister, which is a big step up from book one.

Red is an intriguing character, but their connection felt shallow to me. Maybe it's just that a centuries-old vampire and a 17-year-old acting like a reckless brat isn’t the romance dynamic I can get behind. Also… where are her parents?? She’s supposed to be in high school but lives like a fully independent adult. That was weird and took me out of the story a few times.

There were also a few things that pulled me out of the story a few times with editing, like a missing word here and there, or something spelled wrong, so another round of edits would have been great since I noticed no issues in book 1.

What I did love: the separation of the sisters and how their individual storylines introduced new characters, fresh settings, more action, betrayal, and twists. I was super invested in Zoe’s arc—her growth, her morals, and finally getting to shift and learn about Aurelia was so satisfying. She has a real vision for the world and stands for something, which made her incredibly compelling.

One thing that made me laugh: every male character introduced seems to be a product of the "he's hot, he has muscles, let’s swoon" mold. It’s very teenage-lust driven, and I suspect we're gearing up for more boy drama in book three.

Final notes: I will 100000% be continuing with book three, though I might need to sneak in an ARC or two before then. Oh, and I still absolutely hate the covers 😂. They look super AI-generated and I’m not a fan of random people on covers. I’d love an alternate design I could actually put on my shelf without cringing.

4.5 ⭐️

I have thoughts but I’ve gotta dive into book 3 right now. I’ll come back. 🤣

-----------------------------------------

Okay. So this is book 2 in a YA trilogy about twin teenage half-witch sisters that live in the human world (thanks to banishment from their realm, Aurelia) navigating high school without exposing their family.
Book 1 is mostly about sibling rivalry, high school drama type stuff, and young love while they learn more about the history of their family and Aurelia.

Book 2 is about freedom and making choices. Freedom from a curse, imprisonment, and freedom of people that deserve better than to be cast aside and treated as less. It's certainly political in nature.
There is the teenage chaos including love triangles, testing of friendships, and heartbreaks and betrayals you would expect but now... we now also have vampires written into the adventure.

I had fun reading this. It's short and impactful but fun. The pages turn themselves but it still has complexity. Each character's growth is not linear.
Self-discovery includes periods of time of feeling lost, stagnant, confused... even denial, anger, frustration... and of course moments of elation, pride, and satisfaction.

Something I really enjoy about this series is that time passes. It may only be a couple weeks or a month but not everything happens in 3 days. I'm not entirely aware of how MUCH time... but time passes. haha.

This sequel picks up right where the first book left off and it hits the ground running.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t connect with Saria in Book 1, but wow, did she grow on me here. Her dynamic with Red is one of the highlights sharp, layered, and often hilarious. Zoeli continues to be the strong, no-nonsense powerhouse I loved from the start. She’s fierce, loyal, and someone you definitely want on your side. I’m rooting hard for her happily ever after.

Damian, though… I’m torn. I loved him in the first book, but in this one, his inner conflict has me questioning everything. He’s struggling between right and wrong, and I’m not sure where he’ll land which is exactly what makes his character so interesting.

The story ends on a cliffhanger (fair warning!), but luckily the third book is already out, so you won’t have to wait.

This series blends action, emotional stakes, and magic in a way that feels immersive and fresh. At its core, it’s really about sisterhood and the kind of love that can’t be broken, no matter the odds.

If you enjoyed the first book, Magic Coming Undone is a must-read. Faith Prince really raised the stakes with this one.

Another BRILLIANT Book In This Fun Series!!

Prince has done it again!! Another FANTASTIC book in this series!! I love Zoe so much and just want her to get her HEA!!!

Zoe and her twin sister, Saria, are basically the main characters. Damian too. Zoe is the best, she’s strong, good, caring and has a lot of magical power!! I don’t care quite as much for Saria. I loved Damian so much in book one, but not so much anymore. He’s too fake, spoiled and selfish. Red is a new character and I don’t like him at all. To me the drive of this series is Zoe!!!

We see a lot of the magical world and the injustices of the King’s rule, the world building was really vivid and I felt as though I was really there.

This did end with a cliffhanger, as did book one, and now I’m dying for the next book!!! If you enjoy Fantasy with Magic, Witches, Vampires, lots of action and a little romance, you will love this!!

The story kicks off straight from where book one finishes. Several new characters are Introduced (Hello Red 😍) Told from three PoV Zoeli, Saria & Damien which I thought was great seeing his side as in book one I did not trust a thing he said...I'm not sure I still don't...

I feel like book one was Zoeli Story and book two is Sarias. Several plot twist in the book that I didnt know what character to trust and a very exciting cliffhanger.

I wish I could have seen more things happen in Zoelis side of the story as I felt not much was happening there. She was so kick ass in book one which is why this one lost a star compaird to book one.

Overall an enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing where the third book takes us and what alliances or betrails will be revield.

This was a fantastic YA read! I’m fully invested in the characters and their stories, and the cliffhanger ending has me eagerly awaiting book three. The character development was incredible as they faced so many challenges, and I loved the different POVs. My only struggle was keeping track of how much time had passed, but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the book.

Okay so this book was much better than the first in my opinion. It was much easier to get into and I found myself wanting to find out what happened next! Definitely a Red’s girl….I'm hoping Saria stays with him😩. On the other hand….Damian is starting to piss me off….THE GASLIGHTING!!!! Zoeli, girl, you are so much better than him!! Looking forward to seeing how the story ends in Twin Flames!!🔥🔥

Looooved this book! I love the storyline, I love how much growth both Zoeli and Saria have! They show so much strength throughout this book, it’s a real testament to unconditional love no matter what. I genuinely cannot wait to read the last book of the trilogy! 👏🏼

Where Magic Begins and Magic Coming Undone (The Crowe Sisters Series)

These well written YA books that fall under the fantasy romance genre were a fun and super quick read. I found myself wanting to keep turning the pages. My attention was captured pretty quickly while reading the first one that I finished it in one sitting. I also didn't realize when I had reached the end of the second one (I didn't want it to end). The series centers around half-human/half-witch twin sisters whose family were exiled from a magical kingdom of Aurelia- all because their mother fell in love with a human. Zoeli and Saria had a falling out, so they were distanced for the majority of the first book, which was gutwrenching but necessary for the plot. As the sisters begin to find themselves in trouble with other witches, hunters, werebeings, and vampires that want to destroy them, they come together.

These books are filled with multiple POVs, love triangles, adventure, some dark content, closed door spice, complex relationships, betrayals, and truths that are revealed- which destroy friendships and cause heartbreaks. There were some tropes that I'm generally not a big fan of surrounding betrayal (beware: cheating trope), but I couldn't stop reading to find out where the story was going. We're left off right as the last battle was starting, with the girls trying to save each other, their loved ones, and the magical land of Aurelia. Both books end on a cliffhanger, and hopefully, there will be another book to help wrap up the series.

“Magic Coming Undone” picked up right where it left off. If you’ve read the first book, you’ll know exactly where the story goes next. There was no recap. Thank you, I appreciate that as a reader for my own personal preference.

I don’t want to go into much detail with this review because I feel like it would produce spoilers. I will say, I enjoyed the continuation with the world building and character development. I wish there was a little more to the story when it came to each sister and what was happening while on their own separate journey.

I’m ready for the third installment 🤣 Faith added more twists and turns. Not to mention a killer cliffhanger! Dying to find out what’s happening next! I will definitely be reading the third book.

Thank you Faith for the ARC paperback copy 🖤

This series is a pure delight, Think 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝘽𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙩, & 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘 YA edition.

I really loved the Saria and Red storyline. I want a whole series of the Adventures of Red 🧛 from the past. Once again the Crowe sisters find themselves in love triangles and chaos. It is full of love, heartbreak, friendship and stressful family dynamics. Plus a cliffhanger ending that leaves you wanting to fly through a portal to find out what happens. ⠀⠀
Highly recommend this binge worthy series.⠀

More excitement for Zoeli & Saria!

𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 is the second book in the The Crowe Sisters trilogy by Faith Prince, continuing Zoeli and Saria’s complex story where the first book left off. With multiple POVs, new characters, love triangles, more magic, and battles to be had, the sisters must fight for their own freedom and so much more in this exciting YA fantasy. The addition of the vampires was a fun storyline, and I enjoyed other plot twists and the further development of the Aurelian world! I love that the twin bond between Zoeli and Saria became more of a focus in this book, and I don’t know if my heart can take these love triangles, broken hearts, and cliffhanger endings much longer! I need that third book!😅

Great read 4☆

Book 1 of the Crowe Sisters (Where Magic Begins) was full of teen drama and fun. This book (book 2) is full of betrayal, broken hearts, battles (emotional and physical), and plot twists! It's even better than the first book. The world building and character growth was so much better!

There may be spoilers after this...

I can't wait to see Zoeli continue to grow into her magic and her role in the Kingdom more. I love her kind-hearted side as much as I love her feisty side. Damian had me all confused.. I just can't get any read on his true feelings, so I'm hoping Zoeli can! Saria, Logan and Red... where to even start?! Did this love triangle end before it even began? I love that Zoeli and Saria are fighting for each other now!

💙⭐️ Magic Coming Undone ⭐️💙

This is the second book of The Crowe Sister series and there is going to be a third.

When I read the first book I gave it 3 ⭐️ but the second one is SO MUCH BETTER! There is character growth, new characters, plot twists, emotional break ups, new love interests, forbidden romance and a good world building! Definitely more detailed
then the first one!

There are three POVs: Zoeli,Saria and Damian, where in the first book only two.

Reading this book gave me a lot of different emotions, I found myself angry, happy, excited and also annoyed by some characters 😂

Highly recommended 💙

✨Magic Coming Undone✨

4 / 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok this was good! Like the whole time. It’s been a few months since I read the first one, so it took me a minute to get my mind wrapped around the plot and characters. But this was really good. I’m always thrown off by stories with more than two perspectives but this was done so well. The climatic builds were really good. I will probably be downloading the next book asap.

Thank you to the author Faith Prince for my physical copy! I’m so glad I won and thankful you did the giveaway!! 🤩 such a good series. I really enjoy shifter series and this one is great because of the volume/variety of shifters and the magical diversity! Loved this.

Magic Coming Undone was such a great read! Saria is an absolute queen—no magic and still out here saving the day like a boss. Red the vampire completely stole my heart (and kind of every scene he was in 🔥). Damian frustrated me a bit this time around, but at least he finally told the truth, so I’ll give him that.

Their dad is the cutest nerd and I lowkey love him, and their mom being out here with vigilante energy?? Iconic. The family dynamics were messy in the most relatable way, and I laughed, teared up, and rooted for them the whole time. Faith Prince just keeps getting better with every book!

Would you want to be fighting a corrupt government, trying to survive imprisonment, and yet that’s not enough for your love to say no to his engagement with your cousin? Or would you rather be the twin that has no powers, worried about your sister who’s in a different world, find out your friends have become slayers like Buffy and will kill you once they find out who you are, and be in a love triangle with your best friend and a vampire?
There is a lot going on with this book in the series but I think it’s a good set up for the war that is coming in book 3. Very ready to see what happens with the twins, Damien, Penny, Keisha, and even Logan.

Magic Coming Undone by Faith Prince
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Magic Coming Undone by Faith Prince absolutely stole my heart. From the very first page, I was pulled into a world where magic isn’t just power—it’s a reflection of who you are, where you’ve been, and what you’ve survived.

Saria and Zoeli’s struggle to reconcile their past with their present felt so raw and real. I was hooked by the quiet strength of the characters, the vulnerability, and the theme of reclaiming yourself when the world tries to unravel you.

This isn’t just a magical story—it’s an important one. It explores trauma, identity, and healing in a way that feels both powerful and personal.

Another fast-paced, easy to follow book. Loved getting more of Saria's POV as well as Damien's, although Damien kinda pissed me off this book 😒. I really enjoyed Saria and Red's relationship, but I felt so bad for poor Logan. Now I'm torn between who is better with Saria.

I was a little disappointed that the cliffhanger/huge plot twist at the end of the first book wasn't explored more in this book. I would have liked to get a little more insight on Penny.

Overall I enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to seeing how the trilogy wraps up in the next book.

Right from the start, this series had me in a CHOKEHOLD! The action is very suspenseful! The romance is romancing and theres drama too?! I worship how great this series is. The worldbuilding alone is just wow. It's incredible. It's unique. It's everything. There are also plot twists that you will NEVER see coming. Not to mention two different journeys that will have you hooked and begging for more. This book really does have everything. You already know I'm picking up the third book immediately! I hope you like this series as much I do!!

This book was a fun read. Better than book 1. I really enjoyed Faith’s use of multi POV’s. This book was not what I expected and I left myself wondering who to trust throughout the entire book lol. I’m rooting for Damien and Zoeli to figure things out and I am also rooting for Saria and Red to make things work (sorry, Logan). Also the cliffhanger… can’t wait for book 3 to be released whenever it does and I’ll commit to reading it!

If you're looking for your next YA Fantasy Romance series, this is it! The second book in this series was just as amazing as the first, and I am so invested in Zoeli and Saria's story. That last chapter had me gripped in its clutches only to end on a cliffhanger. I also really appreciated the references to Cast Away, Twilight, and Taylor Swift in this book. I can't wait for Twin Flames to release on July 13th!

I can tell you, I knew I disliked the king in book one. But just the first little bit of book 2 solidified it. And I really loved Damian in book one, but in this one he’s testing my loyalty. He’s not acting like he should and I don’t like it. I am loving Red’s character. This book definitely built the story up for the final book. And of course it left off on a cliffhanger and I am dying to start book 3 to see what happens.

This second book had it all. Vampires and witches and shape shifters. Dungeons and clubs and balls. Love triangles and handsome princes. There were heroics and surprise twists.
Much of the book had loss and separation and heartbreak and fighting so I was hoping for an HEA but, of course, it was another cliffhanger. I need book three!

I abbbbbsolutely need to know what happens next!! This book is a bit slower than the first, but I enjoy how the twins are finding themselves, and the conflict is just getting good towards the end!

I can do without the teenage sexual content and the sexualized outfits mentioned towards the end of the book on minors.
