📚 A thought provoking memoir to change ur perspective towards life.
It is an incredible memoir detailing the author's journey through trauma during his early years. Jacob was diagnosed with Macrocephaly with Ventriculomegaly, conditions where his head circumference and brain ventricles were larger than normal, respectively.
As the title suggests 'Profound Light', a life shaped with miracles. The book highlights the mental state of Jacob, the difficulties he went through, the journey of his treatment and survival.
Despite being curable disease, it is heart wrenching to see a mere child struggling. At the age when he should be living the best days of his life, Jacob was struggling to live a normal life, free from medicines, treatment and agony. He wanted to stay with his family, do weird stuff and have friends.
Although he had numerous issues, he decided to embrace the challenges, live the life on his own terms and face everything with smile. This is what I learned from his story. Even when life gives you thousands reason to cry, find one single reason to be happy.
The language is lucid and easy to understand. The story not only highlights the sufferings of the author but also shows how parents and friends also suffer along with them.
The best part of the book for me was when the author carved a tattoo after his first successful treatment . The tatoo reminded him himself that he can beat the odds, survive and thrive.
Overall, the book serves as a source of inspiration and transformation for everyone. This book is recommended to every single person who is going through rough phase in life.

Life sometimes places us in situations where our loved ones must make challenging decisions. This was the case for Jacob's family when his cancer recurred. The local hospital in his hometown lacked the necessary resources/tools for treatment, so he was referred to the main St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. At that time, his cancer had advanced to stage three and was progressing rapidly.
After a grueling four and a half months of battling cancer, Jacob returned to his family. However, he was diagnosed with a developmental delay that impacted him negatively. Despite his parents' divorce and his mother gaining custody, his father remained actively involved in his life which made him happy.
When Jacob's cancer returned for a second time, he was deeply concerned about the possibility of it coming back the third time. Eventually, his family faced a heart-wrenching decision involving a 50% chance of survival for Jacob.
This story offers hope to readers and cancer patients alike. Through the author's narrative, we learn that even our darkest days can pass. Jacob's story is filled with a range of emotions, and I highly recommend this book to everyone.
I appreciate the author for bravely sharing his journey with the world. His story reminded me of the famous quote "Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always."
From a young age, Jacob confronted significant challenges. Diagnosed with cancer at just three years old, he courageously battled with unwavering support from his devoted family.

This inspiring tale deserves to be widely shared. Hats off to the author for his fighting spirit.
This is an amazing memoir of an author who is a resilient cancer warrior. Jacob was diagnosed with cancer at a very young age. His life took a worse turn when the cancer returned the second time. This was the most challenging time for his family because if cancer would return a third time, chances of Jacob's survival would be very less.
His family took a life-death decision and decided to go ahead with the bone-marrow transplant. The author is grateful to his bone marrow donor as that person has changed his life forever. Jacob's story inspires us to touch other people's lives through our kindness.
