She’s back in town. He needs a nanny. It should be simple. But in the small town of Misty Peak, simple is never easy.
Sadie Sandler wouldn’t consider herself a quitter. But then, she did walk out on her own wedding twenty-three minutes before she was supposed to walk down the aisle. Now she’s back in the small town of Misty Peak, working at her grandmother’s bakery and nannying the child she basically raised. There’s just one problem…the child’s father. He’s tall, sexy and has the kind of ocean-blue eyes she could drown in. There are so many reasons why she should stay away from Eastern. So why doesn’t she want to heed a single one?
Eastern Walker has one focus—his eight-year-old daughter, Avery. She’s suffered too much for someone so young. She needs stability, and he’s determined to be the best father possible—so why can’t he get his mind off the new nanny? The young woman with the beautiful black eyes, who treats his daughter as if she were her own? He’s the town sheriff, and before that, a Navy SEAL; if there’s anything he’s good at, it’s staying focused. But Sadie’s proving to be his greatest distraction.
Soon, resisting each other turns out to be the least of Eastern and Sadie’s concerns. People from both their pasts reappear, and they’ll go to great lengths to keep the couple apart. And they’re not even the biggest threats in Misty Peak…or to Sadie and Eastern’s happy ending.

Audio: 5 stars for Jason Clarke and Avery Caris Book: 3 stars
This can be read as a standalone.
Stayed for the narration, the book was alright, just felt like something was missing. The relationship was rushed, but I loved all scenes with Avery (Eastern’s daughter).
Not sure I’ll read other books in this series, but stellar narration choice!
Small town romance with some thriller/action thrown in. Tropes include - age gap, nanny, single dad. Eastern is the sheriff and fully committed to his daughter Avery. Especially after his toxic ex up and left and hasn’t returned or maintained a relationship with Avery. Sadie is just returning to her hometown after walking out of her wedding after she discovered her fiancé wasnt who she thought he was. Sadie having been Avery’s nanny before she moved away, having spent years raising her, immediately volunteers to look after Avery for Eastern. It doesn’t hurt that she’s always had a crush on the ex military sheriff. Eastern never really saw Sadie before as anything but the nanny - but now he’s seeing her in a new grown up light. Immediate chemistry. All the while there are attacks and crime occurring in the town, also ghosts from both their pasts that won’t leave them alone. Will their blooming chemistry be enough to see them through?
i loved this so much! i've been really enjoying this series. this was a great romantic suspense that was predictable but also not. i'm very excited for the next one. i love a good second chance type story.
This is the third book in the Reckless series; so far, I have loved every book in this series. I expect a small town vibe, with a little suspense, some danger, and a lot of romance and Reckless Fall did not disappoint.
Sadie has a history in the town of Misty Peak, and was the caretaker of Avery, before her mother left. Her dad Eastern is now home and the Sheriff. Sadie returned home after a break-up and asked Eastern if she could care for Avery again.
Danger lurks and Eastern the protector steps up for Sadie. I loved how the story unfolds, and things are resolved, you will need to read for yourself to find out. We are treated with a future tease, and I am excited for the next book to come out.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review
Eastern is a single dad and the sheriff of Misty Peak. This story was my favorite in this series so far. Sadie came home after a bad breakup to help her grandmother and to heal. I love both there interaction with his family and his adorable little girl. There is some suspense going on in this small town revolving around Sadie enough to keep you on edge. This is a wonderful small town romance that will have you so ready for the next brother to get his HEA!!
Reckless Fall is book three in the Reckless series by Nyssa Kathryn. After running away from her wedding to Scott, Sadie Sandler returned to Misty Peak to help her Grandmother run her bakery, Sugar and Spice, and be the nanny for Sherrif Easton Walker's daughter. Coming back was hard for Sadie because of her love for Avery's father. However, when someone wants Sadie dead, will this allow her dream of having Sherrif Easton Walker's love finally come true? The readers of Reckless Fall will continue to follow Sadie Sandler and Sherrif Easton Walker to discover what happens,
Wow, this is another fantastic book by Nyssa Kathryn and an excellent addition to this beautiful series. I was so excited when I received my copy of this book and that it was the weekend, which allowed me to forget about sleeping and the housework to read this fantastic book. I engaged with the story and the characters from the first page, and it continues to the end. I love how Nyssa Kathryn incorporates the issues that can affect small rural communities, such as greed and corruption. I also love Nyssa Kathryn's portrayal of her characters and how they interact with each other. Reckless Fall is well-written and researched. I like Nyssa Kathryn's description of the settings, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
Thank you to the Author for my ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. I recommend this book to all romantic suspense novel enthusiasts.
"Reckless Fall," the third installment in Nyssa Kathryn’s Reckless series, continues to deliver the same captivating storytelling that made the first two books so enjoyable. I devoured this book just as quickly, thanks to the engaging dynamic between Eastern and Sadie. Their relationship is at the heart of the story, and I especially appreciated the deeper exploration of Sadie’s past with Avery, both before and after Avery’s biological mother left.
Fans of Nyssa Kathryn will know precisely what to expect—suspense, danger, romance, and that small-town charm. This book blends several beloved tropes, including an age-gap romance and the classic alpha male/protective lead. Eastern, an ex-military man turned town sheriff, embodies this role perfectly.
The suspense in "Reckless Fall" kept me hooked, and I was pleased with how Avery’s mother’s storyline was resolved. Jamie’s actions were true to her character, making the plot feel authentic and resolved.
One of the things I love most about this series is how Nyssa teases the next book at the end of each one, leaving readers eager for more. Jace's reappearance was a delightful surprise, and the final plot twist genuinely caught me off guard.
I eagerly anticipate the next book, where we’ll see Jace and Elle’s second chance at love. I’m particularly excited to see how Jace helps Elle heal from the trauma of losing her friend. I’m a sucker for stories like this, and I can’t wait to dive into the next chapter of this series.
When Sadie moves back home after a disastrous wedding that wasn’t, she falls right into her old life. She’s working at her grandmas sweet shop and part time nannying her beloved Avery. What she wasn’t excepting was her young infatuation with Eastern to have life. This was surprise #1
Surprise #2 was her scumbag ex fiancé showing up and trying to win her back.
Surprise #3 was Avery’s mom making an appearance after completing deserting her.
I knew this couple was coming and they were worth the wait. I read this book in one sitting and enjoyed almost every moment. The way Sadie loved that little girl was so sweet.
SPICE LEVEL: Rated R / 2-4 descriptive sex scenes, may have harsh language. CONTENT WARNING: Romantic Suspense related violence, alcoholism, child abandonment FEELS: 3/5 - You will definitely feel some feels. POV: Dual - M/F - 1st Person
Good, but nothing too crazy. I like that there was a plot besides the romance which obviously had some thought behind it. Overall pretty decent book with good writing and would read more of this author.
This series is consistently just below average, but I keep hoping it will get better. There are good moments throughout, but overall it’s underwhelming.
Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 Compelling & Emotional!
Reckless Fall Reckless, Book 3 By: Nyssa Kathryn Narrated by: Avery Caris, Jason Clarke
It is great to be back in Nyssa Kathryn’s Misty Peak for another wonderful novel set in her “Reckless” series, the story stands on its own, but I recommend enjoying the series in order written, not only is each book as amazing as the other, but some characters appear in each other’s books and knowing their back story adds depth, plus seeing them again is like seeing an old friend. This third book is Sadie Sandler and Eastern Walker’s story and wow, what a story it is, one that captivates your attention and nothing matters except what is going to happen next in the book, escapism at its best. After leaving her fiancé at the altar, Sadie returned to Misty Peak and works at her grandmother’s bakery. Eastern Walker, former Navy SEAL, is the town sheriff and a single dad of a nine-year-old soon to be teenager daughter, Avery, who is his entire world. Sadie used to be Avery’s nanny until her mother let her go, but Avery is still her favorite person and when Eastern asked if she could watch her when he got called out on jobs, she jumped on the opportunity. Avery was happy about that too, since Sadie was more of a mother to her than her birth mother. Eastern asking her to babysit was more about Avery than himself, at least that is what he tells himself. Sadie is off limits to Eastern, not only since she is her daughter’s nanny but she is younger, but there is a great chemistry between them and they can only deny each other for so long. The quiet town of Misty Peak is never really quiet, with something always going on, and not just with the town folk. Sadie’s ex-fiancé comes in to stir up trouble, and so does Avery’s mother. I loved all the layers of this story and how everything played out, a story with the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery and suspense that keeps you guessing and on your toes, heartfelt emotions, and a steamy romance. As always, the writing, plot, and world building are exceptional, as are the character growth and development. Nyssa Kathryn, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Avery Caris and Jason Clarke continue to deliver an outstanding performance, bringing these characters to life, giving each a voice that is fitting and believable. Their character voices have been consistent throughout the series and I love how they fall into their roles naturally, with Clarke acing it as Eastern and Caris doing the same as Sadie, and amazingly voicing Avery’s character too. Once again, they set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are versatile voice artists and entertaining storytellers whose performance elevates this already fabulous story to another level. Thank you for another wonderful listen.
I was really excited to read this book! I loved the first two books and I was really excited about who the main characters were going to be in this book! I started reading it straightaway, and after reading, I can say that I loved it a lot! The plot developed at the perfect pace and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished reading! There was a lot of romance in the plot and it was developed beautifully and the characters really cared about each other! The romance allowed for some very steamy scenes between the two main characters too! There was also some action and suspense, which added a lot to the plot! I love that this series has action and suspense that runs through the plot and isn’t just sort of thrown in at the end! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Sadie was the main female character, and in this book she had returned to her hometown to help her grandma! I loved Sadie and she was close to a lot of people and she was especially close to her love interest's daughter! I loved the connection the two of them had and how much they trusted each other! Eastern was the main male character and love interest of Sadie! Eastern was a sheriff in town and he worked hard and long hours and also looked after his daughter! Eastern cared a lot about his daughter and they were close and had a beautiful relationship! I also loved the way Eastern was with Sadie and he wanted her to be safe and protected! It was easy to see how much he loved her! This book was written from both Sadie and Eastern’s point of views! I was expecting it to be because the other books were written this way! The synopsis gives the impression that it’s going to be written this way as well! I loved that it was because it helped me connect more with both characters and see their feelings for each other develop! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well, which helped as Sadie and Eastern didn’t spend every second of the plot together and Sadie went through the big suspense scene near the end mostly on her own! I now can’t wait to read the next book in this series! I know that it’s recently released, so I’ll definitely be making it my next read! I’m really excited about who the main characters are going to be and I know that the characters from the other books will make appearances in it! I also love the cover for this book a lot and it suits the covers for the other books in the series perfectly! It would draw me to the book as well and the cover models are the perfect Sadie and Eastern!
Returning to the charming town of Misty Peak felt like coming home, especially with Nyssa Kathryn’s captivating characters leading the way. Reckless Fall brings us the story of Eastern, the steadfast town sheriff, and his rekindled relationship with Sadie, his daughter’s former nanny who’s back in town after dramatically leaving her fiancé at the altar. The single father/nanny trope is such a treat in this story, and when you add in the 'age gap' dynamic, a dash of 'unhinged ex,' and a sprinkle of town mystery, it becomes a perfect recipe for a book I couldn’t put down.
Avery Caris is an absolute gem as Sadie, and she’s even more delightful as she voices eight-year-old Avery. There’s something so endearing about narrators who can convincingly perform children's voices, and Caris really shines in this role. But let’s not forget Jason Clarke, who, as always, is pure magic. His voice has this incredible timbre, and the range he brings to male characters is mesmerizing. Honestly, I could listen to Jason Clarke all day, every day—he’s just that talented.
And, of course, Blue Nose Audio has done it again with their top-tier production quality. Every time I hear one of their audiobooks, I know I’m in for a treat, and Reckless Fall was no exception. They consistently deliver beyond my expectations.
I’m already eagerly anticipating the next book in this series. Nyssa Kathryn clearly knows what she’s doing, and as long as she keeps crafting stories that tug at my heartstrings, bring the heat, and keep me guessing with their mysteries, I’ll be right there, ready to dive back into Misty Peak again and again.
Welcome back to the small town of Misty Peak in RECKLESS FALL, the third book in Author Nyssa Kathryn’s Reckless series. By now I’m pretty indentured into the series and even though it could stand-a-lone quite well, I do advise you to start with at the beginning.
It was Sheriff Easton Walker’s turn to fall even as he did his best to stay away from the nurturing young beauty who held the heart and well-being of his daughter Avery close to her own heart. She was everything a devoted mother should be to his daughter who in turn loved her nanny back just as much. I very much admired his ex-SEAL alpha protective character who needed time to come to terms with their 10 year age gap, but soon realised she held his heart as securely as she held his daughter’s.
Sadie Sandler had cared for the precocious 8-year-old Avery virtually since she was born and we were aware of the situation surrounding them through the eyes of both main couples in RECKLESS HOPE and RECKLESS TRUST. By then, the young 20-something Sadie had been living away from Misty Peak and getting married. Now she was back. Now, Easton is very attracted.
RECKLESS FALL was an good read, and was complete with full on suspense, action, and of course romance. I was completed it in only a couple of sittings. If could easily have been one, but life interferes with one’s reading pleasure. 4.5-Small-Town-Supspense-Stars 🖤💙✦
Reckless fall is the third audiobook in Nyssa Kathryn’s wonderful Reckless series. And let me say, it is good to be back in Misty Peak. This story centers around the romance between single dad Eastern, the town sheriff, and Sadie, his child’s former nanny who recently left her ex fiancé at the altar. This series has given us unforgettable characters and incredible plot lines so far, and this story is certainly no exception. In fact, as far as plot lines go, this book goes way above and beyond. Between crazed exes and a dangerous town mystery, there is more than enough intrigue to keep any listener well occupied and happy. And the budding love between Eastern and Sadie is equal parts sweet and spicy, the perfect combination, in my opinion.
The narration for this story is provided by Avery Caris and Jason Clarke, two of the Romancelandia’s biggest stars. Avery does a fantastic job voicing Sadie, passionately portraying this captivating character’s strength, sincerity, and emotion. She also delivers an absolutely spot-on performance as Eastern’s precocious eight year-old daughter. Jason Clarke, to absolutely no one’s surprise, is outstanding in the role of Eastern, flawlessly balancing the passionate man and father with the loyal and upstanding sheriff that make up the duality of this beloved character. Together, these two talented voice actors elevate this already amazing story to a whole new level of completely addictive romance. I cannot wait top for the next book in this fabulous series!
Reckless fall is the 3rd instalment of the reckless series.
Just like the first two I absolutely devoured this book. I loved the relationship and dynamic between Eastern and Sadie. I loved how we got to see more into Sadie’s time with Avery both before and after Avery’s real mother had left.
If you are a fan of Nyssa’s already then you already know what you are getting into and expect. There is suspense, danger, romance and small town vibes. In this book the tropes would be one bed, age gap and traditional alpha male / protective male leads. With Eastern being an ex force military and the town sheriff, it comes with the job 😉
I loved the suspense aspects to this novel and I loved how Nyssa tied things off with Avery’s mother without making it a drawn out court battle. Jamie made her bed and had to lay in it, but the event also fit in well with the story and the plot. It was something you would expect her to do, so it wasn’t out of character.
I also love how at the end of each book in a series, Nyssa gives you a snippet into the next book in the series and gives you a taste of those characters so you are left wanting more. I loved the way that Jace came back into the scene, and the final plot twist did catch me by surprise.
I can’t wait to read about Jace and Elle and experience their second chance at love. I can’t wait to see Jace help Elle through healing from the trauma of losing her friend. I’m such a sucker for that.
Reckless Fall By: Nyssa Kathryn Narrated by: Avery Caris, Jason Clarke Series: Reckless, Book 3
Just the right amount of suspense and romance, Nyssa Kathryn once again gives me a story to sink my teeth into. I love her writing and the Reckless series is fantastic. The third book in the series has me following Sadie and Eastern, and I can't forget Avery. We met Sadie awhile ago when she left Misty Peak to get married, but she is back, happily leaving her ex at the alter. And just in time, as Avery not only missed her but is in need of someone to watch her. But is that the only reason Eastern hired her? Yes, Sadie loving his daughter is a plus, but the chemistry between the two is undeniable. Age gap matter? It could. What about Avery's mom? Where is she? And why are people dying in the small town? Kathryn knows how to weave a web that not only kept me guessing, but surprised me too! THis is a fabulous addition to the small town series and I cannot wait for the next one! I love visiting Misty Peak!
Jason Clark and Avery Caris continue their incredible narration of this series. Falling into line with each character, this duet style story telling had me from the first chapter. These two have their own chemistry that shines through their narration and makes the couples very real. Plus I love hearing Avery's voice! This is a fantastic performance and leaves me wanting more.
Eastern and Sadie, finally, we get their story and backstory. There has been a spark between the two of them, since we were introduced to them in the last book. I have been waiting to see how their story would unfold, and it did not disappoint. Eastern is just trying to do everything he can to be a good father to Avery and being a single dad is hard. But more than that he is a protector in every sense of the word by being the sheriff, as well as amongst his friends and family. So when he meets Sadie again, all these years later, there is a spark that wasn’t there before and he can’t get her out of his mind. Sadie is this fantastic independent caring, a little bit of sass baker, who loves with all of her heart. The one person, Sadie loves more than anything is Eastern’s daughter Avery. Avery now she is a Spitfire, who is such a sweet soul who has all of her family wrapped around her finger and will steal every scene that she’s in. Eastern fights, his feelings for Sophie tooth and nail and so watching him fight it is so fun. But Eastern and Sophie‘s love story is beautiful. It is not with out it’s challenges and its ups and downs. They have curveball after curveball thrown their way, but they figure it out and become stronger for it. This is a beautiful love story I am so glad that they got their happily ever after.
Book three in the Reckless series, and what a terrific story it is, too. A great romance to go with a few mysteries that lead to very tense situations. It’s great to be back in Misty Peak with these fabulous characters and the suspenseful problems that surround them.
Eastern Walker, being the town sheriff, you’d expect would come across some dangerous situations, and he definitely does. He has the most adorable eight-year-old daughter. She did have a slightly difficult life before her mother left. So it’s great to read that Eastern now has full-time custody of her. He is a doting father but doesn’t spoil Avery.
Sadie Sandler used to be Avery’s nanny before she moved to marry her fiancé. Back in town, minus her fiancé, she is the obvious choice as a nanny for Avery again. Sadie is such a loving young woman who has obviously been brought up to respect others and help them when she can. Both Sadie and Eastern find it difficult to ignore the chemistry between them, however hard they try.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but with the Walker brothers and their fabulous partners, it’s definitely the case. They all support each other and enjoy being there for Avery. The romance is sweet but filled with doubt on Eastern’s behalf.
The quite complicated mysteries throughout the book are all very cleverly crafted and executed. This is another sensatio
There was so much going on in this book. It was mysterious and exciting from the beginning. The characters were great and the romance was pretty low angst. I honestly don’t think there was one thing I didn’t like about this book.
This was presented as a nanny romance but I think I’d consider it more of a babysitter position. When Sadie returned to town after leaving her ex at the alter, the only thing she wanted more than working in her grandmother’s bakery was to be in Avery’s life. She’d spent years being her nanny, and now that Avery’s father, Eastern is back in town and had full custody, she was determined to get her job back as her nanny. What she didn’t expect was to fall so hard for Eastern.
Eastern was a devoted father. He had some major guilt over missing out on his daughter’s life while he was a Navy SEAL, but now that he was back and taking care of her, she was his only priority. He really struggled with his immediate attraction to Sadie. She was someone who his daughter couldn’t loose again and he didn’t want to risk that. But it didn’t take long for him to realize he was hurting both of them.
There was a lot going on outside the romance. There was a lot of suspense and a few twists. It was well interwoven and really added to the excitement of the plot.
Reckless Fall is the third book in the Reckless series by Nyssa Kathryn. This is Eastern and Sadie’s book.
Sadie is a sweetheart! She is so kind and caring. She adores Avery and I love that Avery feels the exact same way. Her ex is a jerk and I applaud her for leaving when she did.
Eastern was kinda lost until he let Sadie in. His whole world is his daughter Avery. Since Avery’s mother just up and left, he’s learned some disturbing news about certain situations that happened when he was away in the military. Eastern feels guilty and will do anything to make Avery happy and keep her safe.
Eastern is a little older than Sadie but it’s no big deal at all. The only person it seemed to bother was Eastern because Avery made it clear it didn’t bother her. Their pasts cause a little trouble and there is also some crime going on in town that Eastern (he’s the police chief by the way) needs to figure out.
I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read by this author. I like that with each book we still get to see all the other characters and can keep up with how they are doing. Jace is home, and his and Elle’s book will be next. I’m thinking there is something she hasn’t told him or some other kind of secret, and I cannot wait to see what it is.
The cover is terrible, ridiculous plots, and really rushed relationship.
I was really really looking forward to Eastern’s book, and I was so disappointed in it. First of all, WTAF IS THAT COVER?? 😂😂😂😂 Eastern is a hugely built man over six foot. That isn’t accurate at all. I had to look at another book cover and imagine it was him! Sadie had only recently left her fiancé at the alter, yes she had already changed her mind about the marriage, before she caught him doing something. It still felt really rushed, and would Eastern have fell so fast for Sadie if she wasn’t so madly in love with his daughter, and vice versus?
Eastern and Avery’s mother were never together, they had a one night stand that resulted in Avery being born. Sadie was Avery’s nanny till her mother fired her through jealousy and also she’s an alcoholic. When Eastern sees Sadie he’s instantly attracted to her but thinks it’s inappropriate as she’s ten years younger and was his child’s nanny. As they get closer there’s danger escalating around Sadie. This is where it gets silly with numerous people acting threatening towards Sadie and some of the plots are ridiculous!
I think the author should have stuck to one plot of danger as it’s way over the top. I did enjoy parts of it but overall I was really disappointed and I didn’t feel their chemistry either.
This is quite the ride. Sadie and Eastern should be (and are) perfect for each other, but can they actually get to Together from Apart?
I love Sadie and her refusal to give in or take the easy way. She could have simply caved when Scott demanded it. She could have stayed away from Avery and Eastern. She could have decided nah, this life isn’t for her. But she didn’t. She’s smart and knows her worth. She also knows what she does truly deserve in life and she sticks to it. The fact that she doesn’t shy away from saying the hard truths to Scott or his mother, to Jamie, or even to Eastern, only makes her even more lovable to me.
And Eastern? He’s so afraid of hurting his daughter and Sadie that he thinks he’s better off alone. Not for long, don’t worry. Because he gets his head on straight and decides that this life is meant for living and loving. He also deals with the stress of the job, the ex, the danger, and the other ex. But he doesn’t cave or run. He stands strong and keeps his eye on the prize.
This is an excellent twisty, turny rush of who or what is doing each thing and WHY. And the unlikely assistant savior in the end only guarantees that we have more angst and love to find for Elle. Personally, I can’t wait. I already want to know more now!
❤️ Nanny + Single Dad ❤️ Small Town ❤️ Found Family ❤️ Suspense ❤️ Former Navy Seal
Reckless Fall is about Sadie Sandler who runs the towns bakery with her grandmother and Eastern Walker, the towns sheriff. Eastern has an 8 year old daughter named Avery. Sadie has been a pet of Avery’s life since she was born as her nanny but Avery’s mom fired her a few years ago when she was dealing with an alcohol issue while Eastern was serving overseas. Sadie left town and started a new life but now she’s back in their small town of Misty Peak, newly single and hoping to spend time with Avery again. Eastern now has full custody of Avery and her mom is no longer in the picture. He meets Sadie at the bakery for the first time in a long time and realizes she’s all grown up and he likes what he sees but decides to put his daughter first and leave his feelings behind. At the same time, there are strange things happening in town and Sadie is experiencing a lot of unexpected and scary things. Eastern can’t stay away too long because he’s so drawn to Sadie and can’t help but to protect her. This story is so good and one of Nyssa’s best. Truly wish the story didn’t have to end. Everything was so fun and sweet and suspenseful and amazing. If you haven’t read the reckless series by Nyssa Kathryn, what are you waiting for? All 3 books out so far are amazing!!
Normally I stay away from age-gap romances because I want to read about mature love stories. However, this book has several twists and turns, along with a mature heroine who doesn’t bring the “unnecessary drama” to the relationship. I was waiting and excited to read Eastern’s (and Avery’s) story. We get glimpses of what Eastern and Avery have gone through in the previous books. I love their close relationship and how quickly Eastern stepped in to make sure Avery was taken care of after he became aware of the neglect she was experiencing. Sadie is suddenly back in town and is drawn to Eastern but doesn’t think a relationship is possible due to the age gap. However, it doesn’t stop her from getting back into Avery’s life (the only stability that Avery has known) and putting her feelings on the line. Eastern struggles but is helpless to refuse what he is feeling. Once they get together, it’s like a balloon has burst with their relationship, ex’s coming back in the picture, and a few other twists and turns to keep the reader guessing and eagerly waiting to see what’s next. I love how Ms. Kathryn weaves a story together. I highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to see where Jace’s story will take us!
This author is one of my go to authors as she never disappoints and always delivers a story that you can’t put down. Eastern, the town sheriff who is dedicated to his job and his daughter Avery, bumps into Sadie who was Avery’s nanny for years before his ex got rid of her and she moved away. She’s back now, no longer engaged and settling back into her old life running the bakery her grandmother owns. She loved Avery, still does and misses the little girl, so when Eastern asks if she is available to look after Avery again, she doesn’t hesitate. The sparks are there but Eastern worries to move forward with Sadie, she’s younger and if it doesn’t work out, he doesn’t want it to ruin the relationship with his daughter. The attraction is too hard to ignore and they may have a chance…that is if their pasts don’t ruin them. Soooooo good, steam, suspense, surprises, twists and turns and great characters that are so easy to fall in love with. I LOVED the little to no drama between them, and the adorable Avery who steals everyone’s hearts. The story flowed beautifully with descriptions that were spot on and I can’t wait for the next one. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
