The Wild Side is a wild and naughty ride! A sexy story with an older hero and a younger heroine... sounds right up my alley!
Alasdair, or Dair is our hero. He is a forty year old successful author who is newly divorced. Dair is big on his routine. He goes to the gym every day at the same time. After a few weeks, he notices a beautiful 20 something blonde is working out right beside him day after day. One day, she asks for a towel, and takes him for a walk on the wild side.
Iris is a woman unlike anyone he’s ever met. He’s enamored with her and extremely attracted to her. He know’s it can’t go anywhere.... she is much too young for him. Their age difference doesn’t bother Iris at all. Although it bother’s Dair, his body doesn’t care.
Dair has a huge issue with the age difference. The more time Dair spends with Iris, the more he likes her. Iris and Dair have crazy chemistry! Their relationship is a bit confusing. Dair is always second guessing everything, worried about how it would look and what people would think. And Iris is keeping something big from him. And he’s terrified to rock the boat and confront her. I found myself wondering most of the story ‘how is this going to end well?’
This was HOT. R.K. Lilley can write a sex scene (or many sex scenes ;) like no other! Wow! Her writing is fantastic and I enjoyed this one. I do wish that we would have had dual pov. As much as I love the male pov and being in Dair’s head was great, I would have loved to know what was going on with Iris. I guess thats part of the mystery we will have to wait to unfold. I liked both of the main characters, but I'm hoping to develop more of a connection with each of them as their story evolves.
Note to reader: This is not a standalone. It is a novella in part of a series. The cliffhanger sucks, but there is a sneak peak for part 2 that helps tremendously. If you read the sneak peak, it’s bearable. I’m excited to see where Lilley takes us in the next installment! I still have many unanswered questions and I’m hoping down the line we get something from Iris’s pov as well!!!

★★★★ 1/2! The Wild Side, part 1 of 3. What starts off as sexual awakening & obsession for 40-year old divorce quickly turns into much more!

“Was this what a mid-life crisis felt like? I was a bit young for it, but hell if I had a better explanation for this senseless plunge into chaos.”
At first glance The Wild Side (part 1) is a story about a midlife crisis of sorts. 40-year old successful writer and divorce, Alasdair Masters, Dair gave up on his social life and became a recluse after being cheated on. He is going about his daily routine of working out and taking care of his body when a mysterious young girl, Iris starts timing her workouts to his followed by blatant come-ons. Alasdair fights his attraction, but quickly succumbs and pretty much becomes a rutting horn dog.
Needless to say their sex is off-the-charts…
But as I was getting to this story is so much more than that! Alasdair, from a privileged background had an horrible adolescence and upon marrying at age eighteen an unsatisfying marriage, details to unfold with story. As story progresses we are given a better understanding why a man as handsome, successful, kind, and caring would become sex obsessed forgoing all common sense.
The Wild Side is about sexual awaking and finding oneself. Strap on your seatbelt, bumpy road ahead!
I am hoping as the story progresses and Alasdair Masters, Dair finds himself and his self-confidence we’ll see more of his alpha side. Currently he has been lead around by his cock. Seven words to describe Dair: Charismatic, insecure, self-depraving, broken, complex, lovable and focused.
Iris is an enigma, but hopefully we’ll learn more about her in part 2. Seven words to describe Iris: Secretive, elusive, captivating, caring, seductive, charismatic and slippery.
The Wild Side is very much a wild ride of sexual exploration and borderline obsession. Story moves at breakneck speed only to come to a shocking, yet expected cliff-hanger. I cannot wait for more of their story to unfold in, part 2, Iris .
Interesting and unusual plot! Mind-blowing and wild sex! Endearing and sexy hero! A very mysterious heroine! I am hooked!

Alasdair is a forty year old divorced writer who's become pretty reclusive except for his workouts at the guy. Iris is a beautiful twenty four year old and that's about all we know about her except she goes to the gym too and...she's about to rock Alasdair's world.
It's not hard to fall for Alasdair, aka Dair...he's just so adorable! His twenty year marriage ended badly and he's really shut himself off from everyone so when he has a chance for contact...any kind of contact, he just can't say no.
Iris is really sweet too but there's just something about her. I want to trust that she's going to do right by Alasdair but I just can't figure it out yet.
The sex....Holy Cow!! We all know that R.K. Lilley can write some scorching sex scenes but these are in a world of their own...and they have Dair's name written all over them. He is just something else...and he has skills even he didn't know he had! And when he's not using those skills, he can't help but whip out his junk for some lovin'. It's a little awkward yet somehow endearing at the same time.
There's some drama with Dair's ex wife that is actually pretty hilarious and a bit over the top. There's also things going on with Iris. But the prologue is what's the killer...the knowledge that something bad happened that just keeps you on your toes!
The story is written from Dair's POV so that also doesn't help in figuring what's going on with Iris. But since this is an installment series, the next book is called Iris so maybe we will get some of her POV. Then the third installment is called Dair and I'm guessing it will be back to him.
The book ends with a bit of a cliffy but thank goodness there is an excerpt for the next book! Because if there wasn't, well, let's just not go there!
I would definitely recommend this series if you love R.K. Lilley's writing...this one's not to be missed!

OMG, this book was so hot! It's one of the hottest book I have ever read!
At the beginning I thought that this book was a standalone but then when it ended on a cliffhanger, I was sure that there will be another book! This one has an interesting premise : age difference, a lot of sex, a mysterious heroine and a man with low self esteem!!
Alasdair is a 40 year old writer and he is divorced. His self confidence is low and when he meets in the gym, the hot young girl, Iris he can't resist her. Iris seems to know exactly what he needs! She makes him, feel good but he can't understand what a girl her age (24 years old)...wants with an older man..
Alasdair isn't comfortable with the age difference and especially when they are in public. Also he isn't the romantic type and he cannot express himself...However he is starting to feel something for Iris..and he enjoys her company a lot!!

Dair meets Iris at their local gym. Iris approaches him all flirty and bouncy. Sadly, Dair doesn't come across alpha but pretty boring and wimpy to me. He is in his forties while Iris is twenty-four years old. Dair has MAJOR issues with their age difference and although he likes her company the story just goes on and on about how incredibly hot she is and how hot the sex is between these two. (I don’t care how hot she is!) Story is told completely in his pov so it's all visuals of how fab her figure is the whole book.
They get busy at his house and although he follows her here and there he doesn’t know jack about who is sharing his bed! Believe me she’s got all sorts of weird flags waving but he never pushes to know more about her.
The two enjoy each other’s bodies while Dair opens up to her about his ex-wife and some things in his past this really but basically, this was just one looong hook up.

Dair and Iris have an argument over her age and he even says that she possibly is a fortune hunter!

No dates, no real interest in who she is or where she comes from! The best is his embarrassment on her meeting his photographer (potential love interest).
Overall, the story was basically the thoughts of a horny old man, (I’m his age and his thoughts came across old to me) getting fantastic sex from a younger woman while never really knowing or caring enough to see if there is more to what they have. Iris bails, could you blame her?
Will I continue with the next book? Truthfully I didn’t really care for Dair and I don’t really know Iris much but I do like the writing. I suggest next book have Iris pov so readers can have more to visualize than her great tits and ass. I’m guessing there has to be more to the story than this!

Her fingers are really magical.... am addicted to her writing!
The Wild Side left me wanting for more of Dair and Iris. Iris was so mysterious but one thing for sure, she is hot!
Dair is our delicious author and Iris is a girl with definitely a wild side LOL
They meet and things get pretty steamy...Iris is the one with secrets. How will they survive? Or is it just a lust?

★★★☆ 3.5 'Walk on the Wild Side' Stars!
I'm a huge fan of R.K. Lilley's previous work, so of course I knew I had to read this book. And I can honestly say this author, once again, did not disappoint. Still, even though this was a fun, quick and sexy novella, I didn't absolutely love it and I think that's mostly because I wasn't that big a fan of the hero, the heroine was a bit hard to read and mysterious and I didn't fully buy their connection (perhaps if the book were longer, that would have been different). I still enjoyed reading this one though and I'm already looking forward to book 2!
Alasdair 'Dair' Masters is a 40 year old popular crime writer who spends most of his time either at the home working or at the gym. One day, a beautiful, young blonde named Iris approaches him at the gym and asks to borrow one of his towels. And that's the start of a turbulent but passionate affair between two completely opposite yet perfectly compatible people.

Told entirely from Dair's POV, we follow Diar and Iris as they start spending more and more time together. Dair discovers they have much more in common than just their shared lust and attraction towards each other, but Iris is very closed off when it comes to her personal life. She remains a mystery throughout the entire book and I'm really curious to find out more about her. Hopefully we'll get her POV in the next part of the series. And the biggest obstacle in their "relationship" still remains their age difference. Dair feels like he's way too old for the young and wild Iris, no matter how many times she assures him.

Towards the ending, I already a feeling something was going to happen and I was right... . Then, there's a pretty big cliffhanger but luckily, the first few pages of the next book are added and they already give a reassuring glimpse of what's to come in book two of the series, Iris.

4.5 Forty is Fabulous Stars!

Alasdair Masters aka Dair is an intelligent, gorgeous man who recently turned 40. He is a successful writer, but also has a lot of free time. He divorced about a year ago after 20 yrs. of marriage to a woman who was never happy no matter what he did. His ex-wife really did a number on his self confidence. Dair has no idea just how hot he is. He views himself as some sad, old man past his prime. He is somewhat of a recluse, and really hasn't enjoyed life for a while now.
Dair spends most of his spare time at the gym. He has a specific routine of cardio & weights, and works out 3 hrs. a day. His gorgeous muscular body hasn't gone unnoticed by a young beautiful 24 yr. old blonde woman named Iris. Iris often runs on the treadmill next to Dair. One day she speaks to Dair, and he's practically drooling over her. She had a perfect body, and was any man's dream. He knows she is too young for him, but he hasn't been with a woman in so long he can't help but be affected by her.
Iris and Dair end up around each other more, and Iris is very sexual & aggressive. I thought it was all so funny. Poor Dair doesn't know quite what to do with all that forwardness at first. He finally lets go and allows himself to just be in the moment, and boy is this book hot!!! Dair was an unstoppable sexy beast once he let loose! :D
The more time Dair spends with Iris the more he finds himself changing. He is feeling a new intimacy he isn't used to, and is developing feelings for her. All of the sudden he is wanting to not just know her body, but know her heart as well. He becomes kind of obsessed with her and loves her infectious personality. She is sweet, friendly, talkative, affectionate, and full of life. She is a different breath of fresh air that he is becoming rather attached to. He begins to finally feel happy & content. The only problem is he still doesn't know anything about her life. Other than the time they spend together,she is one big mystery to him. It ends on a bit of a cliffy, but the sneak peak into the next book fixes that. I can't wait for book 2! :D
-Hot women weren't exactly a novelty in Vegas, but this one was in a league of her own. Girl, I corrected myself. She was a girl, way too young for me to even sneak a long glance at, though I was only human, and she was wearing next to nothing, so I'd caught many, many glances.
-She was beautiful. Not a scrap of makeup on, her white-blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail, and still she could've stopped traffic. A real bombshell.

The more time Dair spends with Iris the more he finds himself changing. He is feeling a new intimacy he isn't used to, and is developing feelings for her. She is sweet, friendly, talkative, affectionate, and full of life. She is a different breath of fresh air that he is becoming rather attached to. He begins to finally feel happy & content. The only problem is he still doesn't know anything about her life. Other than the time they spend together,she is one big mystery to him. It ends on a bit of a cliffy, but the sneak peak into the next book fixes that. I can't wait for book 2! :D

Neither he nor she declared their relationship. They should had spent more time talking to each other than fucking..
I think the 2nd book could be better than this but only if there will be more storyline..

Alasdair has become sort of a recluse since his divorce venturing out on occasion and trying to stay as private as possible. But Iris, the young thing that caught his attention at the gym, isn't about to let him hide away. As Iris approaches him at the gym, her body has his forty year old mind going crazy. She's just a baby, only twenty-four - but her constant flirting is something he just can't fight.
"She was a wild thing, and I wasn't sure I wanted to know what all that wildness might entail."
Suddenly Dair becomes obsessed with Iris, not knowing how long she intends to rock his world but not willing to let a moment go to waste when he has her underneath him. Iris is a complete mystery, never opening up about just who she is - but being with her is enough for him to look past her white lies and omissions.
Dair can't seem to figure out what a girl like Iris would want with a man like him, beyond access to his money or to use him for sex. But pushing Iris for an answer is pushing her too far. Now his need for her is turning into an obsession.
I felt like I was watching the Olympics and fucking was just introduced as the newest sport. Spoiler alert, Dair takes the fucking gold medal, ladies. This was one helluva crazy ride and I am left utterly confused as to what the hell is going on. Beyond the hot sex, and there is a lot of it (a whole shit ton of it), Iris remained a complete mystery.
Once Dair lets go and gives in, something inside of him comes alive. At one moment towards the end I grimaced a bit as to the direction he was heading in, but it worked within the story line of his obsession. It just sort of caught me off guard that his reaction wasn't that of pure remorse.
R.K. Lilley was able to keep you guessing at every turn, but never gave you enough to figure it all out. Dair's utter desperation mixed in with Iris's fearlessness made for one helluva explosive story. I am hooked. And I need more, like right this minute.

So, there's not much to review. It's a short story, and most of it was just sex, but for some reason I have to know what's next! I couldn't put this down once I picked it up, and I'm off now to one click the other books.
And may I mention how darn glad I am that I waited until all 3 parts were released before reading this one! The wait would have killed me!

4.5 STEAMY STARS!
This is the first installment in a new novella series by one of my favourite authors, and I absolutely loved it. The cover is hideous but I promise once you get past that it made for a great read! Just 125 pages, I read it in one sitting and it was everything I expect from a RK Lilley book… fun characters, sexual tension, witty dialogue, great chemistry and lots and lots and lots of steam. I didn’t even know it was possible to fit that many orgasms into 125 pages but if anyone can do it, it’s RK Lilley!
Alasdair and Iris (I loved their names!), forty and twenty-four respectively, were drawn to each other from their first meeting. An innocent ride home from the gym one day turned into something else entirely. Anti-social and quiet, Alasdair is packing some major baggage coming out of a loveless 20-year marriage and Iris teaches him how to once again enjoy life.
Alasdair was a great character. Like all of RK’s heroes, he definitely had a bit of an alpha male in him that came out every now and then, but he also had a vulnerable side I wasn’t expecting to love so much. And he’s an author, I loved that. Iris was a bit of a mystery so far, but she seemed like a sweet character and I can’t wait to read her POV in the next books. Together, they had steam coming outta my kindle! They were freaking hot! I loved reading about the change in Alasdair. He wasn’t use to all intimacy Iris created between them, but the harder he fell for her, the more he wanted to know her and not just her body.
Im not the biggest erotica reader. When I do venture out into this genre, it’s usually either because I love the author or the books get amazing ratings. My biggest pet peeve with this genre is when books end up being complete PWP –porn without plot. Lots and lots of steam with no story behind it.
Trust me when I tell you RK Lilleys books are not like that! My favourite thing about them is the connection between the main characters is never based purely on lust, they always have great chemistry and witty dialogue. Iris and Dair had just that, and even the non-sexy parts were sweet and fun to read.
That cliffy at the end was not fun, but book 2 is supposed to come out in a few weeks and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Hopefully the next covers are nicer than this one, this series has lots of potential!

I loved the "Up in The Air" and "Tristan & Danika" series.
When I read the blurb on this book, I was very excited to read it.
I could tell from the teaser that this was going to be a very hot erotica book which probably wouldn't have much substance.
An older guy, working out three hours a day at the gym, to keep himself in the best shape of his life, meets a young 24 year old vixen, who is completely coming on to him? Yes, this was going to be a naughty little read.
Alasdair Masters is a 40 year old successful author, who has recently divorced his wife of twenty years. Dair is being hit on by a very hot 24 year old blonde, named Iris, who goes to his gym.
Almost immediately, this woman is inviting herself to his place, and talking about how huge his cock is!! LOL
Yes, this sounds very lame, BUT, I really did enjoy this one.
The sex, to me, was OFF THE CHARTS HOT!
Dair was always so funny and adorable to me. The guy acted like a young teenage boy about to have sex for the first time.
He was like a kid in a candy story.
I lost count of how many times he kept whipping out his penis.
I loved that he couldn't last for more than three minutes and fell right asleep the first several times they were together!
Now that is more realistic than the books that have our book boyfriends who can go at it for hours, and have no problem getting it right back up after having orgasm'd.
Dair will get better in the sex department later on.

She is completely vague and gives nothing up about her personal life or past. We know she goes off to gamble but pretty much nothing else.
I'm not sure what her deal is.
The ending is a little bit of a cliff hanger, but if you read on, you will see we get a teaser to book two.
So I would recommend this book for the STEAM factor and I wouldn't say that Dair is an alpha male, but to me he was so adorable and his sexual stamina made him HOT!
This book is just for pure enjoyment and not depth, but maybe book two will have more of a story.

I really wanted to like this book and even though it made me laugh pretty hard, it just fell short for me. I didn't really like Dair at all, he just seemed like an old creeper to me. There wasn't any depth to the characters or much build up. It was funny, mainly because it was so outlandish. Otherwise, it seemed to lack substance.
I know I'm in the minority here after reading some of the other reviews, but I really didn't get into the story at all. Honestly, I felt like I was reading a short sex story from a raunchy porn mag.
I love many of the other books from this author, but this. One just wasn't my style. Oh well! To each their own.

I am such a fan of R K Lilley after reading and absolutely loving her Up in the Air Series, so naturally I couldn’t help myself getting “stuck” into this series as well….
Okay….The Wild Side, 1st in The Wild Series was a surprise!!! Certainly not what I was expecting. Sexy, hot…that yes!
But jeez how much sex can there be in this rather short story…
….it’s like 90% sex and maybe 10% plot!!! No, I am not kidding!!!
Here’s a short and very brief breakdown of the rather “tiny” plot…..Alasdair (ooh luv that name…) aka Dair Masters, 40 years old successful writer, just divorced, in a bit of a slump…women and sex wise….meets gorgeous Iris at the gym..or rather he gets roped in by her in a very lovely way…now Iris is beyond young and gorgeous…how could he possibly resist her…more so after their first sex encounter…..trust me Dair was in another world…

Me personally, after just coming off of a handful of either dark and twisted or emotional reads, this was exactly what I wanted!! In fact, I have to say, this was probably my favorite work that I have read from this author. I wasn't a huge fan of the Up In the Air series and I haven't read her other books yet...maybe I need to! This was a very pleasant surprise.
I did love the fact that this was a unique spin on a taboo that I personally haven't seen a lot of out there, and it did pose an interesting question- does age really matter? Can a relationship that bears a sixteen year age difference ever amount to anything substantial?
I think my fave parts of the book (besides the scorching hot sex...again, let's be real) was the internal monologue of shock and awe that Dair was having with himself when he realized that this red hot beauty was actually interested in him.
"If she asked me to lick her asshole while she cut the lawn with her teeth, I would have agreed to it. I would've agreed to any fucking thing right then."
"Her ridiculously tiny panties were still sitting on the counter. "I'm not proud of this, but I took them to bed with me"
The whole book is told from Dair's point of view. We get virtually nothing about Iris though, except for her favorite sexual positions. She's a complete mystery to us. Although I am SURE that was fully intentional on the part of the author, it was a bit frustrating.
I could've done without her twerking nonsense that just made her come off like a complete bimbo but...I have a feeling that there is a lot about this character that the author is keeping from us and I am excited to see what lies ahead.
Cannot wait for the next book in this series!

What a smart intelligently written book!!! A very well done male POV too!!
Romance series ( instalment 1/3) between a 40 yr old H and h in early twenties. Both characters fascinated me.
H is a successful novelist, a millionaire , but in his personal life he was not so lucky - he allowed himself to be used and manipulated by his cheating wife of 20 yrs who took him for all he was worth. He has poor self esteem and is a loner in his mancave now licking up his wounds. He also hasn't much idea of intimacy or physical affection from his distant parents or bipolar shrew of a wife. He is socially awkward, not in touch with his emotions and is very much a writer living in his own head. However because of a history of heart disease in his family he goes to the gym religiously ( the only way he gets out of his house)
This is where he meets the h, a 24 yr old PYT. I liked her very much. She chased the H but in an adorable cute way and the clueless H was more than receptive. The h gave the H so much - kindness, physical affection, open sensuality, intellectual companionship, intimacy - without asking for a single thing, she was so generous of her body and emotions, she made the H a better and more fulfilled man, he practically blosommed under her care from some dried up writer to someone enjoying his life but then the H messed it all up.
What caused the main conflict had me wanting to smack the H. He doesn't trust h. He was ashamed of h that he was with someone so young. Being used by his wife plus having bad self esteem, he though h would only want him for his money ( like a sugar daddy thing) so he wants h out of his home before some OW, a photographer he planned to date sees her. h is not stupid, she understands this and she leaves H. Book ends then on a cliffie.
Well, I say good for her. The H is so caught up in his own issues he didn't know a good thing when it was right in front of him. Maybe he deserved his ex, I hope he gets back with her and has a miserable life!!!
Anyway I'm onto bk2 in hopes H redeems himself!!

This is another series, that my series addicted self couldn’t help but read.
While reading this I went through a series of emotions…
In the end, I am so intrigued I am going to continue this mother.
Do I recommend for others?
I think so! Some people loved it and I am intrigued enough to continue, but to me this wasn’t a show stopper. The story is told completely from Dair’s POV and I am left wondering what Iris was thinking and wanting from him. From what I read, Iris was so completely turned on by him that she would do anything to fuck him. <— I did mention this was told from a male’s POV right?? No, seriously she was really into him, and even after talking to my friends I can't figure it out.
Dair is 40 years old and recently divorced after a 20 year marriage. Dair is a successful writer, and wealthy. Iris is a 24 year old cigarette girl in Vegas, who by Dair’s opinion lives in the slums. SMH…yeah I don’t know…my cynical mind says we all know what she wanted from Dair, but I am cynical maybe it was real attraction. I will say I will continue this series to find out.

Yeah, it still holds up. I rated this a 4 star when I listened to it before because it's a super hot series!!! And it is STILL super hot.

All my GR buddies know - I have a soft spot for R.K. Lilley and her books. Always had, always will. No matter what, her writing fascinates me.
And so, I was happy to learn that R.K. created a new trilogy called The Wilde Side, and that the first series with the same name was released in May. Two following series, Iris, and Dair, will be respectively released in June and July 2014.
It is the same old story - how an older, wealthy man falls hard for a much younger woman, practically a girl. Same game, new players, right? Midlife crisis... Hot quasi gold digger... Well that's where my irony ends because R.K. has a beautiful gift to twist and unfold every "ordinary" love story to such extend, when nothing would seem to be simple, or corny, or predictable...
Of course, we've got our warning in the prologue. There will be no HEA here, Sue. At least, not in this very cliffy series...
Alasdair, you were my champion. I was rooting for you. I wanted you to be happy again. And I still hope that you will be. I want more of this story... More of everything.
Alasdair Masters is a successful drama writer, who recently hit a very dramatic (IRL!) age barrier for all men (and, obviously, women!) - his fortieth birthday... He is quite wealthy, he lives in a beautiful mansion in Las Vegas and drives two luxurious cars (S Tesla and Audi TT), he is giving the interviews for magazines and TV, he is more or less famous; however, he is lonely and miserable in his personal life. His wife Tammy has cheated on him, and he got divorced about a year ago with the ugly financial consequences since his former bitch of a wife ripped him off ruthlessly without the prenup.
And now.... People, listen to this!!! ALASDAIR HAS BEEN CELIBATE FOR A YEAR!!! He was hurt so much by his ex-wife, whit whom he lived for 20 years, that now he is safely playing a recluse. He is a really good-looking man; however, his confidence has been shattered. He lives day-by-day, following his easy routine. He doesn't need any disturbance...
Alasdair, or Dair, has a "family history clock-full of heart decease", hence he religiously attends an upscale gym in order to fight bad genes and stay healthy; he aggressively pursuits his three-hour daily workout. Day after day after day....
And that's when the magic starts. Magic, or set-up, or stalking, you can call it however you want. But the fact is, Mr. Masters can say good-bye to his safe and undisturbed life...
A hot blonde bombshell starts sharing Dair's gym hours, working a similar work-out routine. She is very young, to the point that she could be a jailbait. He is only a man, so of course, he is watching her... And she doesn't mind...
"She was beautiful. Not a scrap of makeup on, her white-blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail, and still she could've stopped traffic. A real bombshell. None of it was artificial either, just plain old good genetics at work.
She was friendly too. I wasn't sure why, but she usually took the machine next to mine, if it was empty, thought there were lots to choose from. She always had a smile for me, too."

I really liked Dair's ironic ways of thinking about himself as a "sad, old man":
"Maybe I reminded her of her dad. Or fuck, her grandpa."
"She probably thought I was dad material."

"My name. I know yours now. Don't you want to know mine?"
"Yes, of course. Nice to meet you..."
"Iris. Don't you like it?"
"Y-yes," I stammered out. "It's a beautiful name."

"I'll make a note of it." What the fuck did you say that for? I asked myself.
She looked pleased as punch. "You do that."
And so, after nine days of becoming a gym regular, like a real seductress, Iris finally invades Dair's personal space. Smiling, teasing. Borrowing his towel. Finally asking for a ride in his awesome car.
Who the hell is she? A common gold digger? Does she have a plan to seduce the poor writer and use his money? Dair's initial thought of her was, "A flawless little thing like that wouldn't give me a second glance..." And yet, here she is, riding in his S Tesla to Dair's house that was designed by himself. AND DAIR DOESN'T DO THIS SORT OF THINGS. NOT EVER!!!
He is confused and overwhelmed...
"I'm still way too old for you." "Your cock doesn't agree."
I flushed bright red. "My cock doesn't know what's good for it."
"But I do." He voice was whisper soft."
"God, that thing is impressive. I swear it has its own pulse. I can see it beating."
Is Iris messing with Dair?
"And you're not old, Alasdair. You're distinguished."
Iris is very smart, funny, and talkative. And yet, she doesn't disclose anything about herself. She deeply affects Dair, this introverted and a little boring man feels alive again. Their sex scenes are amazing, I was honestly getting goose bumps while reading...
"The sex with Iris was amazing. Out of this world. It never slowed down, not for one day of those short weeks."
He never met anyone like her.
"...she was different. She was aggressively sweet. It was a potent combination, and one that I thought I could enjoy trying to figure out."
She is very independent - "I'm not a stage five clinger". She is a mystery to him. He has no idea where she works. He knows she is not in school. This enigmatic girl totally blew his mind and rocked his world; however, she did not let him into her life.
"She was just too much. Everything my bruised ego and trampled heart needed to start to mend themselves."
She seems to be genuinely interested in Dair though.
"I saw you you and I wanted you. Is that so hard to believe? Have you taken a good look at you?"
"You seem fascinating to me, Dair."
Dair became addicted to Iris.
"It was all new, every second with her, but it felt so right that it instantly found a place in my life, as though it was not something new at all, but rather a lost thing I'd found, like rereading an old book that I'd completely forgotten was my absolute favorite."
"She didn't strike me as someone from her generation. She was mature, to say the least, and well spoken, even well read. ... To my mind, she seemed to know too much to be so young."
He started falling for her.
"Something was happening inside of me, something directly related to the way this girl was making me feel, something in the way she was helping me to change, but I had no appropriate words for it yet."
"Make you lose every ounce of good sense you ever had, and TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE. Is it working?"
"She made me feel so desirable, when I'd felt so unwanted for so long."
"She had a mind and a motor, this one, and I found that it was just as attractive as the rest of her."
Being hurt before, Dair has some serious trust issues. Since Iris has her secret night life, he secretly follows her around and becomes more and more suspicious. After Iris confronts Dair, he throws the fatal phrase into her face:
"Because there's only one reason people our ages get together."
"And what reason is that?" Her voice was so quiet I nearly didn't catch her words.
I shut my eyes. "To use each other."
And that was it. Dair has lost her Iris. How dare he? And now we are waiting for the second book because no way that would be the end of this unbelievable story. Too much chemistry between those two. Too many feelings are involved.

With a title like "The Wild Side", and knowing what kind of sexiness I can expect from R.K.'s books, I prepared myself for the ultimate naughtiness when I dove into this book. Let me just say, I dove and never came back up!
Nothing could have prepared me for just HOW naughty this story would be!
I still break out into a sweat just thinking about some of the..uh...scenes.
This dynamic was so different from the very start, which was very appealing to me, the reader. There wasn't an alpha male, with a dom lifestyle and whips and riding crops. Oh no, THIS story involved a mysterious woman. One who has ulterior motives, or does she?? You will have to read to find out. I am still utterly intrigued by Iris; I need more of her story. Reading the dialogue had me constantly smirking, especially pertaining to Iris's feisty attitude. I really do love a girl who knows what she wants, and goes after it.
The entire story was also told in Alasdair's point of view, which was refreshing; a man's thoughts on what a woman can do to shake things up in his life, in all aspects.
I loved everything about this and then some. From the Beyonce song references, to the immensely hot as hell sexy scenes, I am still high on the emotions that came flying into me from this.
I am so thankful that these installments are releasing so close to each other because I can hardly contain my patience with waiting for the second!

I like The Wild Side and the sexy scenes are absolutely hot. It's over 100+ pages and really quick to read.
