When the town librarian is an avid mystery and true-crime reader, the local law enforcement must need a book-smart assistant like her, right?
The highlight of summer arrives with lights, sirens and lots of candy. Parades are always a hit with children and adults, but a Fourth of July parade is the best of the best. This year, the parade in Bristol, New Hampshire, has ‘Home for the Holidays’ as the theme. Rebecca, Kenny, his daughters and their extended family gather in front of the library to enjoy the event together. What they don’t expect is to find out they watched the latest victim float down the street as part of the show.
At the conclusion of the parade, Kenny and Rebecca discover one truck remains in the parking lot and still has an occupant who isn’t there voluntarily. Though the means seems clear, it’s the motive and opportunity that remain a mystery.
Will Rebecca and Kenny solve the murder in time to enjoy the Fourth of July fireworks and barbecue on Newfound Lake, or will their holiday weekend plans go up in smoke?
Come spend the Fourth in Newfound Lake with Rebecca and Kenny! I love the idea of a Fourth of July parade that is celebrating all the holidays. I enjoyed reading about the floats and picturing them in my head. I am always impressed with how Rebecca can question potential suspects without making them feel like they are suspects. It is always a good feeling reading how Heather includes Rebecca when it comes to the girls. I love to see how Rebecca and Heather are so supportive of each other. It is very inspiring. The mystery was wrapped up without me even suspecting this person. I always enjoy reading a book in this series.
"Red, White & Final BBQ (A Newfound Lake Cozy Mystery #14)" by Virginia K. Bennett nearly had Rebecca and Kenny leaving an event without a crime happening. Too bad they noticed something odd about the last person left on a 4th of July holiday themed parade.
This book is a nice quick cozy mystery, perfect for the 4th of July. It had me thinking one way while it twisted another. The family dynamics are refreshing too.
This kindle e-book novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 14 of 15
Rebecca and Kenny are celebrating the Fourth of July with a parade and BBQ with fire 🔥works afterwards. Then a dead body appears during the parade. Rebecca and Kenny uncover the truth leading to an arrest and a happy ending 😀.
I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic family and friends relationships adventure mystery novels 👍🔰. 2024👒
Rebecca and Kenny plan for the Fourth of July parade. They have staked out a place in front of the library to set up chairs with a perfect view of the parade for the group. When the parade has passed by Heather takes the girls while Rebecca and Kenny walk over to parking lot where the parade ends. Kenny is helping direct traffic and help the floats get out. Rebecca sees the scarecrow on the back of the orchard float and notices he has not changed position. When sh approaches the float she realizes the scarecrow looks dead. She and Kenny dive in to try and solve the murder while still making sure the girls get to see the fireworks. A surprise ending and a fun read.
After going through many holidays in the year with Rebecca and Kenny, this one is set on the Fourth of July. Every small town’s Fourth is represented. There is a pie eating contest, a parade, a BBQ and fireworks! All the while Kenny and Rebecca solve the murder!
This book was enjoyable to read. The length of the book makes it so nice to just enjoy a quick read on a hot afternoon!
Loved the way the characters react to one another and it is a good mystery read. I have read all in the series and highly recommend it to all who love a good, clean murder mystery. 🤔😍
What a fun read for the 4th of July weekend! I seem to have started at the end of the series, but I didn't have any trouble keeping up. Cozy hometown vibes and friendships are my candy, and this book delivers! The crime is shocking but well handled. I'd recommend this book to others who enjoy cozy with a twist.
