Robert Weinberg (also credited as Bob Weinberg) was an American author. His work spans several genres including non-fiction, science fiction, horror, and comic books.

Weinberg sold his first story in 1967. Most of his writing career was conducted part-time while also owning a bookstore; he became a full time writer after 1997.

Weinberg was also an editor, and edited books in the fields of horror, science fiction and western. In comics, Weinberg wrote for Marvel Comics; his first job was on the series Cable, and he later created the series Nightside.

Género. Narrativa Fantástica.

Lo que nos cuenta. Los magos ya son conscientes de la situación tan importante que se está viviendo y mandan un emisario a transmitir una importante información a Dire McCann, que sigue en Washington tras los últimos y “explosivos” acontecimientos relacionados con La Muerte Roja, igual que Alicia, que recuerda los acontecimientos que la ligaron a Anis hace ya mucho tiempo. En el mundo siguen liberándose criaturas legendarias y los vampiros empiezan a tomar posiciones ante lo que se avecina. Segundo libro de la trilogía La Mascarada de la Muerte Roja.

This series is just so good. During the first one I struggled to keep track of all the characters and places but it was well worth the effort. I love how the series as a whole tells the story rather than each book being a thing of its own and only giving a little notice to the main arc.

Looking forward to the conclusion in book 3!

This was disappointing. Did not have the same fast paced style as the first one, “Bloodwar.” Way too much backstory and repetition from the first book. The characters and this story were moving along nicely. I was invested and excited for this installment. I felt like I was stuck at a railroad crossing waiting a 1000 car train to pass. That’s right, it just went on and on and on.
This story is a hudnr4ed pages longer than the first, so naturally, I was thinking it would be action packed. It wasn’t. But that doesn’t mean it is without. A nasty mob cell is wiped out, the men searching for Phantasmo’s meet an unlikely demise and the assamite assassin, Makish get a little too cocky and pays for it. Other than that, nothing.
One of the pluses is the lack of grammatical errors. Unlike its predecessor, this one was clean of he glaring issues in part one.


I will be reading the third book. Why? I actually want to find out how it will all end.

creo que puedo darle un 3,5. la verdad no me gusta mucho como esta estructurado el conflicto, aun siento que hay demasiados personajes y no solo es complicado seguir el hilo de todo lo que esta pasando si no que puede estarse desarrollando un conflicto alterno que a veces se ve pausado por volver a ver como están los protagonistas que deberían ser mccann y compañía y hace perder un poco el hilo de la cuestión, pero en general la historia es interesante y por dios. la pelea de Flavia fue solo demasiado cool!

Tras un primer libro de presentación de protagonistas, enemigos y situaciones, en este segundo se desarrollan algunas sub-tramas abiertas en el anterior y se avanza en las intrigas preparandonos para el tercero donde se resolverá todo, sin embargo el libro no baja intensidad al presentarnos nuevos personajes e ir desvelandonos algunas pequeñas pistas, todo ello intercalado con algunas escenas de acción trepidantes. Ahora a ver la conclusión de todo.

Sigue siendo una secuela muy buena lo inicie recién acabado el primero, es un libro atrapante, con buena historia, vampiros sin caer en lo metrosexual, muchos clanes conspiraciones, buenos personajes, a pesar de que en ciertas partes uno predice lo que sucederá lo dejan en un suspenso sabroso, es muy interesante y muy bueno para leerlo en esta era de la batalla cultural

A bit over-hyped. Could/should have been better. There are so many vampire novels flooding the market now that an author really has to break out of the expected stereotypical prison of the construct and forge a new path for their work to be really memorable. I'd just avoid this one...

Book 2 of the Masquerade of the Red Death trilogy.
This book was lent to me years ago and I finished all three in two days, if that says anything.

These books are set in White Wolf's world of Vampire the Masquerade, which is a terribly interesting place to begin with, and which is probably why I found these so delicious to read. They were a great introduction to the World of Darkness for me, with a nice view of many clans all at once (I think a couple clans didn't make it in here, like the Salburi, but with so many clans, I think Weinberg did a great job with what he did).
Likable characters, compelling storyline. Maybe not the best vampire trilogy ever, but it caught and held my attention. Definitely entertaining if one enjoys VtM.


These books are out of print, so if you are interested in reading and happen to find them, best snatch them up asap.

Second in the series. See my review of Blood War to see what to expect out of all of them. As the Red Death's plot moves further the reader enters the world of Phantomas, a centuries old Methuselah vampire of clan Nosferatu who holds the secret to the plot but needs to verify his data with two important characters introduced in the first book. Fun read. Really enjoyed the appearance of the Nictuku, ancient beasts created to destroy fourth-generation Nosferatu like Phantomas.

Loved the book and the trilogy. This is like my 3rd time reading them since they first came out. Smooth, fast paced, exciting with a touch of humor that contrast the darkness of the world they are set in. To date this is my favorite Trilogy.

Druhý díl upírské trilogie o velké krvavé válce mezi upíry, kteří tajně ovládají naši civilizaci. Postav je tu o něco méně než v prvním díle a kniha je o skoro třetinu delší, ale přesto se mi zdálo, že se toho nějak stalo méně. Ale stávající postavy jsou moc fajn (např. monstrózní Nosferatu, který v kanálech píše největší upírskou encyklopedii) a i nové mě bavily - jedna z mnoha nádherných a mocných upírek si tu nabrnkne do party tři sprosté puberťáky, kteří utekli z domova a ona se pro ně stává tou potřebnou autoritou. Další pěkný krvavý román ze Světa temnoty.
