Lady Mary, a debutante with a passion for botany, steps into the glittering world of her first ball, escorted by her protective elder sister, Lady Eleanor Weston. Amidst the swirl of waltzes and whispered gossip, Mary catches the eye of the notorious rake, Lord Sebastian Blackwood.
His charm is intoxicating, yet dangerous. Enter Nathaniel Everhart, a close friend of her brother-in-law and fellow botanical enthusiast, who senses trouble and intervenes just in time. As the season progresses, Mary and Nathaniel bond over their shared love of plants, finding solace and connection in gardens and quiet conservatories.
Their growing friendship, filled with stolen glances and heartfelt conversations, gradually blossoms into something deeper. When Sebastian’s schemes threaten Mary’s reputation, Nathaniel stands by her, revealing his true feelings in a dramatic confrontation. They emerge with a love rooted in trust, respect, and a shared passion that promises a joyful future.
Fiona Miers has a super busy life, like most modern women. But she always finds time for reading and writing romance.
Her love affair with the romance genre started when she was only 11 years old, when her mother and Nana handed her her first Mills and Boon.
Since that day, she's built her own business, become a mother to two beautiful little girls, and fallen in love with the most spectacular man on the planet.
Fiona writes historical romance. She also writes paranormal romance and more erotic stories under the pen names, Amelia Shaw and Tamsin Baker.
This book was ridiculous. Neither speech nor behaviour nor circumstances resembled the times of the Regency period. It was like a contemporary plot set in that time. I didn't like the writing, it was repetitive and boring. Everything was over the top: her father died leaving the family near debtor's prison, her brother-in-law gave her a dowry of 30 000 punds, which is an outrageous sum. The reader learns nothing about an heir. As she and her sisters were referred to as "Lady" the father must have been an earl. Maybe it was mentioned in the previous books, but a good author would try to bring the reader up to speed. The rumors suddenly started without any reason and the to just followed, nobody questioned it. The behaviour of the female characters was very forward and not appropriate for that period. Several mistakes in grammar, not my cup of tea.
I enjoyed this book so much! Full of love and tenderness! I couldn't put it down! The story line was amazing and had it's ups and downs! I would recommend this story to everyone that loves A truly great love story!
