Seventeen-year-old Ansyl Parker didn’t like Ben Randall, even if he did save her best friend and he was hot. Ben Randall didn’t count on the fact Ansyl would argue with him about everything. And it didn’t help when she turned him down for a first date. After a helicopter ride and an ‘accidental’ trip to Aspen, Ansyl knew she had to tell her parents about the secret meetings with a boy that didn’t like her religion. Too bad her parents had to ground her. Now Ansyl must face the sometimes you don’t get what you want and sometimes holding on—just might be worth it.
I really enjoyed it. I'm a fan of Alivia Anderson. It was good, clean, and an easy read. I couldn't put it down and finished in a day. Loved the characters and the issues they faced. I didn't want it to end. I wanted to read more! Kind of hoping there's a sequel :)
Was it "worth it" to read...it was cute, but simple. I felt the religious content, which was strongly LDS, dug deep, but didn't completely solidify the answers. The ending, while sweet, was far too quick. But, despite my pickiness, it portrayed an LDS youth's life and romance in a very real setting.
This book helped me come to grips with my husband's death. It helped me to strengthen me at a time when I most needed it. Helped to remind me of my testimony. I know it was intended for youth, butt I read it and enjoyed it any way. I have a new favorite author and enjoy reading clean fiction, especially that includes the gospel.
