Ooo young love - JJ and Lexi were each others first in every way that matters. But being young has its problems and JJ did what he thought was best for them. Now 5 years later he gets his chance to repair the damage his actions caused. But getting Lexi back is not going to be easy but he knows this is his chance to be with his first love forever.

Lexi was heartbroken when JJ ended things. She somehow managed to go on with her life and when she got her dream job she didn't expect to be put in the path of the man who hurt her. But resisting proves to be futile when it comes to JJ and when she opens up to him again, all bets are off.

The banter was fun and easy, the drama was there but it didn't overtake the whole story. This second chance was a nice way to spend my evening.

This Ice Hockey romance is packed with banter, feels, steam, and family unity, and Lexi and JJ's happily ever after is well worth their wait!

Jameson “JJ” James moved from New York to Chicago when he was 16, as his mom got offered a really great job and they had to take it. JJ was angry that they moved from his friends and high school. But, when he realizes that his new neighbor is the most gorgeous girl he has ever seen he instantly forgets he is mad about moving. 

Alexis (Lexi) Knight has always wanted to be a sports physical therapist. Her father is a pediatric DR and loves it. Lexi knows she wants to work with sports athletes. She wants to go to USC in California as they have the best program for sports medicine. 

Lexi and JJ start dating and are very serious about each other. They win the high school prom King & Queen. Both are going to different colleges, Lexi wants to stay with JJ and go to school in Colorado where he is going. JJ knows he can't let her give up on her dreams to follow him. JJ breaks up with her. 

Five years later we have JJ on the NY Crushers NHL hockey team. We also have Lexi starting to work with Dr. Michels (Doc) who has developed a fantastic rehabilitation program for elite athletes. Doc wants Lexi and he offered her a great job to come and work with him and his new program. Lexi finds out though the first day on the job she will be working around JJ. 

Will Lexi be able to be around JJ after all this time? Will JJ be able to be around Lexi? Will all those feelings from 5 yrs ago come back? Will Lexi let her heart be stone and not give JJ the time of day?

A slow start to this story had me questioning whether it was for me or not, but once the storyline got to Lexi and JJ's current situation of Lexi meeting up with JJ again after 5 years, all the drama, angst and hotness that I was waiting for came down like a heavy rain. So keep reading ladies, this book does not disappoint and has all the feels. JJ broke Lexi's heart, yes he did it for her, but when your heart has been shattered the way he left hers, there was no way Lexi could ever forgive him. On the other hand, when JJ saw Lexi again, he could not believe his luck and he was determined to win her back. Fate had them working for the same Hockey team and he was going to make the most of the opportunity. Shame Lexi was not on the same page as him!! Lexi made him work for every little advancement that he felt he made with her. She hated him with a vengeance and was not going to give into his charms. But JJ was on a mission, and that was to get his girl back!
A great story overall and I loved how all the other players and characters were woven into Lexi and JJ's story. Plenty of drama when JJ's father returns and causes angst between the newly reunited couple, but this does not detract from JJ and Lexi finding love again and reaching their HEA.

You were rooting for this couple from the minute they met.

Their story of how they fell in love the first time was so sweet and you could see how much they loved each other, even then.

The sadness of them being torn apart made me cry but you knew it was the best choice for JJ to make for them at the time. Tears appeared though.

Their meeting agin was bang like a slap to the face and while you could understand her feelings about what he did you knew they’d be endgame. The passion was between them was evident from the moment they saw each other and despite their obvious attraction the hurt was so real from Lexi’s POV.

What was surprising was the appearance of his dad and how that turned out. It didn’t occur to me that his dad was there for his money at first but when it was evident he was up to something the penny dropped.

I loved the persistence JJ had with Lexi and that he wasn’t giving up without a fight. He knew she was endgame and he did well to convince her of that too.

Luckily we also had Chels, Kallen, Bella and her parents to help her realise it too.

Great book and the 2 surprise weddings at the end???!!! Wow

This is the first book I am reading from this author, and I totally enjoyed it.

Jameson James aka JJ fell in love with Alexis Knight aka Lexi when he first seen her at the age of sixteen, he knew he was going to marry her.

They we high school sweethearts who learned about love together. JJ broke her heart when he broke up with her so she could follow her dream. Lexi was devastated and vowed never to love again.

Few years later after college and JJ is playing for the Crushers Hockey team. Lexi joins as a physical therapist to work with the Doc and come up with new therapy plan.

As their paths cross Lexi is using JJ full name which he hates, she tries to ignore him. JJ feels they belong together, and he decides he will win her back.

As you watch this love story unfold it breaks your heart sometimes. Will they be able to have happily ever after?

When I first started this book, I almost DNFed it but decided to keep reading and ended up really enjoying it.

One of the things I loved about this story is that Lexi is a physical therapist for a professional hockey team. It's a career for the FMC that you rarely see in romance and growing up, I wanted to be an athletic trainer so that made the book more fun to read. I also loved that she likes to read spicy romance books.

One of my favorite parts of I Pucking Hate That You Love Me was the scene on the ice in chapter 32 when JJ was trying to fix things with Lexi. Another favorite part was the proposal scene, I thought it was really cute. 🥰

I look forward to reading the next book of DL Gallie's Pucking Love series. 🙂

Lexi fell in love with JJ when they were teenagers, and she was devastated when he chose to end their relationship when their future seemed to send them in diverging directions. Five years later not only does she see him again, but they will have to work together as well.

JJ has always wanted what was best for Lexi even if they didn’t agree on what that was. He has never forgotten his first and only love so when fate brings them back together he is determined to show her that it is now their time.

This is a enchanting story about healing from the past and finding a path forward. Lexi isn’t about to just forgive and forget which only makes their fight to find a way back to each other that much better.

When JJ moves to Chicago at 16, it is love at first sight for him when he sees Lexi in her treehouse. And soon they start dating, with approval from their parents.

Just before they leave for college though, JJ initiates a break up and Lexi is heartbroken. Upon graduating, JJ joins the New York Crushers hockey team while Lexi unknowingly signs up to be part of the team’s rehabilitation program too, thus bringing them into close proximity.

I didn’t quite like how JJ was unprofessional with her during treatment time as it could have jeopardised her image and career. But he redeemed himself later on with his grovelling and his care for Lexi. It was good to see Kallen and Chelsea appearing in this book too!

This is the third book in this incredible series, and this is Jameson “JJ” and Lexi’s story.
These two were torn apart by different career paths, and JJ shattered Lexi’s heart when he left. Now they are both working for the same hockey team, where JJ is a professional player, and Lexi is the new physical therapist.
This is a well written easy to read, fast paced story, with drama, humor, witty banter, romance, emotions, second chances, and love, which leads to an entertaining, sweet, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I Pucking love a second chance romance! I feel like there’s more to feel and this story definitely gave me those feels.

I Pucking Hate That You Love Me is book 2 in the Pucking Love Series by DL Gallie that has everything from heartbreak 💔 to heat 🌶️.

There is so much love between JJ, (MMC) and Lexi (FMC) that even as teenagers hearts are broken. Fast forward five years and JJ’s road to redemption to win back Lexi is epic that you feel this to the core. I love a man who keeps his eye on the end game.

Their story is filled with drama, humor and plenty of spice that it makes for an easy read and enjoyable read.

Eh it’s ok

I enjoyed this series more in the beginning… now it feels like a responsibility to finish it rather than something I want to do. I was annoyed that the Christmas novella spoiled some of this book… that’s poor planning. There are also a lot of inconsistencies between the books, that is again poor planning. I will read the next book despite really hating the MC and not thinking he deserves a redemption arc, but I don’t think I’ll read the following when it comes out.

The best thing about receiving an Arc for review is that you personally know the author. I had the privilege of meeting DL a few years ago at my first book signing and I get to see her again in a matters of days. This is only the second book I have read by DL and I couldnt get enough of it.
It was a fast paced sweet and oh so sexy read that had me turning the pages of my kindle and falling head over heels for JJ and Lexie.

I loved this book! She's a new to me author & I can't wait for more from her. This is JJ & Lexi's story & it was such a great one! They've known each other forever & fell in love with each other. Some things happened & JJ made a mistake (not another woman) & broke her heart. When they finally see each other again, the love & sparks are still there. It took her a while to come around, but so happy they got their HEA!

Other then hockey romance you had me at First Love, Second Chance, and oh boy DL slayed these tropes!

I Pucking Hate That You Love Me, is JJ and Lexi' emotional story, and I loved every minute of it.
Sweet swoony first love truns into a devastating heartbreak. Jump to five years later, we get emotions, drama, banter (I love the banter) steam and romance. I loved watching these two work their way back together, they were always endgame.

JJ and Lexi have to come to terms with their past to be able to move forward. I enjoyed the angst around that. Some suspense is thrown in around a couple different people. I like how this book overlaps time frames with previous stories about this team. I would have liked to know the outcome with regards to Chet's circumstances. This book kept me riveted to the end.

What a ride! I love this series! JJ and Lexie are smoking together! The hockey is hot ,and the twist is awesome! Great read!!
