Amir Tarkos is one of the only humans in the Predator Corp, the most feared and respected military force in the Galaxy. With his partner Bria, a bear-like carnivore, Tarkos is on a dangerous and difficult mission to locate the last surviving Ulltrians, a race that once extinguished much of the life in the Galaxy.
With a team of allies, Tarkos and Bria locate and investigate the twin sunless worlds where the last Ulltrians dwell. In an ocean under ice, they must discover the war plans that could destroy the Galactic Alliance, and Earth with it, if the Ulltrians are not stopped. Treachery awaits, and not everyone will survive the twin black worlds in deepest space.
Evolution Commandos: World Hammer is a stand-alone novel, but it is also the second third of the trilogy Evolution Commandos. In addition, it forms part of the ongoing Predator Space Chronicles, which are told in novels and short stories.

Perfectly following the first volume, this time we follow the space crew to the World Hammer where Ulltrians await. This volume cares for each character equally well, developing them in ways that make sense but are also rich in nuances. Hard to choose between the most surprising developments, but Eidis probably holds a special place. Enough said.
This book was OK, but I didn't care for the story line as as the other 2 books. You may enjoy it more and Jan I did . Thought the female crew member was a main character, killing her off this early in the series didn't well with me, SORRY.
Exemplary second book, in a science fiction series rich with aliens in contrast to Tarkos the sole Human Harmonizer. There are just enough other points of view to keep it very interesting as the Alliance gears up to fight the ancient enemy they'd thought (hoped) extinct.
Bria is a badass. Pala is a genius. And look at you TikLik being unexpectedly awesome. If you can't tell character development was spot on. Not to mention the battle scenes are out if this World. (pun unintentional)
