(Sequel of Accidental Surrogate For Alpha. Can be read alone. ) Ariel was looking forward to her arranged marriage as the perfect princess, only to discover that she was being seen merely as a surrogate. Determined to escape the impending wedding, Ariel found herself with nowhere to turn. Her brothers helped her disguise as a boy, and she entered the mysterious and formidable Alpha Academy. To her surprise, Ariel stumbled upon her mate within its walls, and not just one … but more? However, her outward identity remained that of a young man… Will her true identity be uncovered, and can Ariel survive the harsh trials of Alpha Academy?
I don’t really like Luca much. He’s so full of himself and how he so much better than Jacks. And I don’t like how Ariel caves to him all the time. It makes her look weak. She has more power than both of them and she just turns into a doormat, and why is her wolf never on her side? If she doesn’t start standing up for herself, she’s never going to be the person she should be. All I see for her is heartache because they are forcing what they want on her. Even Rafe with all his boundaries talk, only the men set boundaries, Ariel still didn’t get a choice. It’s annoying that they’re taking her choices away from her because the choice isn’t even available to her to have what she wants. It’s BS.
If I were her I’d tell them both to shove it until they grow up and Luca needs to stop making everything about him and how great he is. Also, it’s not cool that he’s slept with 50 people and that’s just a non issue. She should be allowed to feel some type of way about that. It was all glossed over like it was nothing when she was mad about Jesse and Rafe being like that. It’s not true to her personality.
If they were older it wouldn’t be so bad and I’m not slut shaming because you do you, but if someone doesn’t like it who you are pursuing a relationship with, they should be allowed to feel that way, and it seems like Ariel is the one who is getting the crap end of the stick mostly. Yeah, she kept things secret, but she had very valid reasons and now look at everything. Luca is trying to bulldoze her by pretending to be perfect when he’s absolutely not, and Jackson, well he’s actually sweet, but he’s too apt to just let her have her way. Neither relationship is healthy. Luca is a cocky ahole and Jackson is too insecure.
Okay- if I have to pay for a book- someone had better be editing the dang thing.
The story is fun and sexy but I lose a lot of time having to go back and reread a word in every paragraph and guess what the real word should be- or what the sentence should actually be.
I mean does the author really not know that the past tense of heal is healed, not hale?
I don’t hate this series, I think it’s fairly entertaining for its genre and it was what I was in the mood for but instead of leaning into the why choose pathway it’s a bit more love triangle-y heading so I think I’ll stop reading the series. It’s annoying to read on those chapter-by-chapters sites and this one was entertaining enough for me to deal with it for a while but it’s at a decent spot where I don’t mind leaving it where it is.
The first book is good.. I like empowering female drama and mix a good why choose and alphas.. so I'm in. Down side, this 2nd book vs 1st book may be slower.. and I may or may not have skip some sentences because it was to much talk vs dialog between characters..but she's still the main character and strong independent girl ..
I liked the book, but too many spelling mistakes, grammar errors, and repetitive. If it wasn’t $10 for each book I would look past all that and finish the series. But they are and there’s 4 more books, I’m not spending $40 on this.
I have now read 2 of the 6 available on Kindle. I started it on one of those pay to read apps. What can I say I got hooked. I really wish there had been a tad more proof reading done, but I'll deal. I am totally a Jackson fave and all her first should be with him.
Book 2 is definitely getting better. It's a shame it's so expensive, especially for all the mistakes there are. I do like the characters and the storyline isn't bad.
Was in a major book slump and read this little goofy story to get me out of it! Very bad writing, lots of typos! A werewolf mulan story! But it served its purpose haha
