Based in Newquay, Cornwall in 1996 the protagonist reflects the author's policing experiences at the early part of his 30-year career in Devon and Cornwall police. He has woven his experiences and anecdotes within the 16 chapters, each of which could be described as an individual story in itself if it wasn’t for the golden thread of a murder ‘who done it’ linking them. The novel exudes the feelings and scents of summer holidays taking the reader through stunning scenery, all of which should bring back nostalgic memories. Although the book holds its own, it is the follow-on from the writer's first self-published novel, The Cornish Scoop, where the main policing character, Treavey, began his career in a nearby seaside town. Now it's all about Newquay, and let the fun begin.
