Clean but a good read.

He inherits his brothers twins and there is a MOC with Frances and it just is a real sweet story.Frances is a great heroine. She might be a wallflower but she is a hearty wallflower. She loves the twins as Lydia was a good friend of hers so she's off to make sure they are okay and meets the duke. After they are married there is an evil grandmother that is just vile. At one point the kids are even kidnapped and as they search desperately to find them they fall in love. Kisses only.

Vulnerable Twin Boys plant seeds of love

Watching love grow between Frances and Christopher is endearing. His initial arrogance and her audacity develop into trust and cooperation. Add to that the teasing banter and humor creates a charming romance. Christopher endures guilt from his past. Frances wants to escape present maternal pressure. This gives them perseverance. Their mutual loving dedication for the five year olds builds cooperation. Their dedication to giving the boys a better life gives them opportunities to appreciate each other. A dramatic crisis takes their mutual effort to overcome. This is an enchanting mystery-romance !

The storyline in this book is very sweet. It has characters that love deeply and fiercely and are devoted to having a loving family. I enjoyed the balance it showed between duty and caring for those towards whom a duty is felt. Frances is godmother to twin boys whose parents die in an accident. Because she feels a responsibility towards them, she proposes marriage to their new caregiver, their uncle, who is a duke. The Duke accepts her proposal and the rest of the story is their journey to becoming a family.

I only gave this story 4 stars because I loved the storyline, but I felt the story needed some more attention prior to being published. The version I read had a lot of grammatical errors or sentences that didn’t make sense. I also felt that some character developments deserved more attention earlier in the story to understand how the story was going to play out. For example, I was a little confused in hearing that Christopher was a rake when it didn’t seem like Frances even knew much of him at the beginning of their marriage. Also, the relationship between Christopher and his mother popped up as a surprise later in the story. Why wasn’t their relationship addressed at their wedding? Perhaps by Frances asking why his mother was not attending. That seems like something natural that a bride would ask. Also, was Christopher’s estate in the country? It seemed like it was until they appeared to be really close to the “park.” Usually the dukes of that time period had a large country estate as well as a townhome in the city for when conducting business in town (or for the season). This townhome would be close to a “park” but the country estate would generally not be although visiting beautiful sites in the countryside were still popular day trips.

So all in all, I enjoyed the characters, but I felt the story needed more polishing/proofreading before publishing.

Hardheaded versus Cold and stoic!

A different meeting , Francis is heartbroken when her best friend, and previous lady’s maid, ran away and married the love of her life. When she had twin boys, and Francis is named godmother, she delighted, but now news comes of her friend and her husband have died in carriage accident! She slips out at night to go to Christopher’s estate to see how the twins are, the Duke has no idea how to care for children and when Francis has them calmed down and fed he ask to talk to her. He ask her to marry him to care for the five years old twins. Very entertaining story!

Definitely read the prologue since the story begins right after. I really enjoy when there isn't a long drawn out beginning. There were no 'dead zones' to bore you with but a continual flow of events. The only disappointment for me was the Extended Prologue. Boring and didn't like the potential ending of waiting till the twins (who are 11 yrs old adopted nephews) are older to have any babies of their own.

I really loved this story & them as a couple, it was vary cute & amusing the way he would tease her & like to fluster to her, I loved their connection & way they were a team & how they had a truly caring protective love for each other & the twins, the way she was always so positive & comforted him & the way they both helped the other grow & be stronger. One of my favorites!

Orphaned twin boys bring together their uncle and their godmother. The heroine convinces the hero to marry for the sake of the children. He agrees even though he never wanted to marry for fear he’d be like his father. The mothers are very manipulative characters. I enjoyed the twins and watching the love grow in this family.

Great story!

Chris was a Duke and swore to never marry. Frances was hounded by her parents to marry. So when Chris’s brother died and left behind five year old twins, he thought being married would help the kids. Frances was the kids god mother, but no one knew. She agreed to a marriage of convenience to help the kids. So much adventure to follow. Please read.

Adorable twin boys and sweet romance

I’m always a sucker for stories with kids in them and this one did not disappoint. I loved both the hero and heroine in this story. Very well done. Would read again.

Best statement in book: Marriage is like that, my friend. It's a journey, not a destination. You'll find you way together as long as you're willing to communicate and be patient with each other.

A Duchess Godsent

A wonderful story of love … of family, of friends and of strangers. Love is shown in so many ways and deeply at that to make this a very touching story. The depth of the characters and the intensity of their situations is what makes this a great read!

This book was seriously excellent! I loved both the duke and duchess were interesting. I just wished I knew why nobody communicated with each other. All these “vapors” and “butterflies” were quite irritating. I still enjoyed the book though.

Very enjoyable story about a couple who began marriage in unique circumstances. Both resisted their developing feelings, but were drawn together when their family was threatened.

I very much enjoyed this story of Christopher and Frances. It was relatively fast paced and interesting all the time. Again, I didn't want to put it down to go to sleep, which is an issue as then I'm tired for work the next day! haha

Twins

Lovely story of a couple brought together by a pair of orphaned twins. The world they live in is full of ups, downs, villains and strong family support. An unusual story that begins with tragedy?

our little Family

heart warming story for all the women in search for the “right one”. I found it strange (being a grandmother) how mean a grandmother can be! I find grandchildren the greatest blessing next to having your own children.

A Tragic Accident/A Marriage/Love!

A marriage of convenience for the sake of family seems the perfect solution. And it is for a while. But love has a sneaky way of infiltrating
one another’s life and making everyone’s plans go haywire!

So painfully chaste

Marrying to secure the safety of orphaned nephews, and we're supposed to believe they're fine with an unconsummated marriage? Forever?

Just not believable, and the stilted dialogue didn't help.

2-1/2 stars for the saccharine overload alone.

Exceptional story

What an intriguing story. Started out as one thing, had lots of twists and ended up as another. Seriously it was a beautiful love story, A love spread in many ways.

Predictable

After reading so many of these kinds of books, what happens becomes predictable. It becomes tiresome after awhile while you wait to see what the “hook” will be.

Dhisappointed

The storyline was good enough, but the language was disappointing at times, using modern idioms and thus jolting me out of the period with their incongruity.

Not engaging, awkward, modern language and multiple continuity errors even just in the first third.
