Three handsome men want my heart, but a dark king has claimed me for his own…

Prophecies are dangerous things, but the prophecy that my chosen mate will gain incredible power is just plain insane. What’s more, it inspires a ruthless man to stop at nothing to try to take me for his own.

Luckily for me, three men stand at my side. One man is a berserker with dark secrets and an even darker past. Another is a cocky, possessive dragon shifter who might just be the last of his kind. And the final man is a sweet mutant, who has just as many scars on his heart as he does on his body.

With them, I could have a kind of love I only ever imagined. But only if we survive.

UNTAMED is a steamy reverse harem romance with vampires, shifters, unique supernaturals, and a mystery. There is no cheating, and there is a happily-ever-after at the end of the series.

Well this sucked. I was super excited because I don't tend to find many romance books about berserkers. The heroine was suppose to be the only female who could actually go berserk. Super powerful and all that shit, so why was she always being rescued? She was rescued and then would sleep with whoever rescued her. I mean come on dude, where is the connection? No character development. It felt very one dimensional. Also, she goes to the reform school because she kills her best friends attackers. The only time we actually see her mourn is literally the day after and then she is sleeping with people. And then it feels like Lucy never existed. Just no.

I'm going with a 3.5 here. Prolly should be a 4 because I did dive forward looking for the next one. I am loving this new trend where a group of authors get together and all right books in the same world. I've spent hours upon hours all up in the Paranormal Prison world where some of my favorite authors went and started up the best thing ever.... and now I've discovered this start here at Wicked Reform School. I'm so excited! this is more than just an anthology.. the authors got together created a whole world together and then each get a little slice of this world to get all creative in. Love it. My only concern is that when the books have sequels within the series, I'm afraid the sequel may get lost. This book ends in a hell of a CLIFFHANGER. To be fair the author does warn about it ahead of time so props. However book "2" in the series is about a different character in this world and the next book following this FMC isn't out yet and its seems to be "on down the way."

Our FMC, seems to be a rare female Berserker that can experience "the beast." She is snarky, takes no bull crap, and is a whole hell of a mess. With a prophecy about the only female berserker that can go through the change will lead her mate to be king of berserkers.. of course all the evil, sadistic, and truly dark start to come out of the wood works. I would definitely not just classify this as RH but as Dark RH because the experiences the characters have had in the past as well as the what all is going on with the "villain" in this story is pretty messed up. So heads up. Me i'm ok with it, but I want to just throw it out there for all my reader homies jic.

To say I'm epically disappointed to not be able to just dive right into the next one in "this" (Berserker) series.. is no exaggeration. There is definitely so awful things going down right now and I hate to leave our characters in this mess. Can't wait to see where this heads but I'm also ready for some victories..

If you're looking for a fun and entertaining read centering on a unique supernatural then I suggest Untamed, the first book in Lacey Carter Anderson's House of Berserker series.

If you don't know, a berserker is commonly known as a warrior with great skill until they get into the zone, a single-minded focus when the blood lust takes over and it's all about the fight, the warrior grows in size and power and can't tell friend from foe.

This story is centered on Kiera a female berserker. Kiera has a spark of fire, she's independent, caring, strong, and defiant when it calls for it. She knows who she is and doesn't let anyone tell her otherwise. It also just so happens that she's the only female who can shift into her berserker form and there is a prophecy and a self-declared berserker king who is quite monstrous and wants her. So things aren't going well.

Enter a slew of hot guys that all feel a pull towards her and wants to protect her whether she wants it or not. Drake is arrogant, Emory is tortured, and Adam is so innocent it makes my heart hurt. Each of the guys is a different supernatural and has to learn to get along if they want to keep their girl safe.

I love reading about rare supernaturals and berserkers are rare, I've only came across a few minor characters but never as a main. I liked learning about their culture and pride. There were a bunch of other supernaturals including mutants, people who have been experimented on. As for this reform school, they are thrown into, what fresh hell is this. Half of the staff are creations being controlled and the other half are truly demented. There is a difference between reform and torture and things in this school aren't right. A lot of injustices are happening in the school and it's only time before payment comes due.

Untamed certainly ended with a bang, it was a good start to the series and I really enjoyed it. The story is only getting started, the prophecy is still in play and is getting harder to avoid, the monster king is determined to get what he wants and things aren't looking good. After the exciting events at the end of Untamed, I wonder what's where the story is headed next.

I Adore Adam

I love a lot of LCA’s books but I found myself struggling to read this book. It’s not bad at all but I just wasn’t sucked in this book the way I am with her others. I’m not impressed by the other two MMC’s and only obsessed with one one them. Adam the mutant is so incredibly adorable and innocent and sweet and I only find myself liking the other MMC’s through their interactions with him. I haven’t really been fond of Drake since the beginning because idk cocky MMC ( the way he acted) don’t do it for me and we literally meet him in a compromising position. Where there is another woman touching on him in the beginning of the story, I didn’t consider this ow drama though, from the sheer fact that the dude clearly wasn’t interested, it almost gave me SA vibes because he literally jerks away from her and the way his body reacts and him himself let’s us readers know he’s not interested. I didn’t love the scene it was uncomfy.

He also does no explaining to the fmc later on, no reassuring her that it’s nothing and that he had rejected the woman, he just lets her believe that what she was what she saw ( an ow giving him a HJ) and him appearing to enjoy it. But idk, it was uncomfy and I felt like it should have been briefly addressed. I don’t like stories where the fmc meets one of the guys and he’s literally engaging in smex with an ow, but this was NOT like that. He was being touched and clearly not into it, but also not actively/verbally stopping it and it wasn’t even addressed. I wasn’t a fan. The premise of this story is interesting but I can’t imagine myself reading two more books with this plot, I also again am just kind of not vibing with the other MMC. Emory is sweet but I’m not gravitating towards him or Drake the way I am Adam. I’m sure if I keep reading I’ll like the men more but the plot to me is alright. I feel like some of LCA’s stories are meant to be a series but others are not and this is one of them for me. I dnf at 79 %

Oh my my my. It was marvelous. It did honestly kept me on edge of my chair. Kiera is very strong woman with deep need to right everything, feeling that tells her everyone is worth , even those rejected by society. Ok, everyone except someone who tries to hurt her or those she cares about, or send her to marry someone she don’t want to’ She have head in right place. She was quite sheltered till now however she is a perfect warrior. Adam is interesting, we don’t have all information about him, neither his nature. Just little crumbs leading us to interesting facts. He is an exception, and one you can only love. Drake is very strong and cocky, but quite broken inside. You can only fall for his charm. And Emory is an enigma. From one side you can feel for him, from other you can have lots of suspicions. Guys in this story all did suffer already a lot and Kiera is theirs sunshine. To be short it’s wonderful, well constructed world; amazing characters, good thought plot and ending which will make you want to have second part already in your hands.

Action packed and full of surprises

Kiera, a Winter berserker, has just graduated and goes into the human town with her friends to celebrate. As the story progresses a tragic event changes her course, a few good men gather around her, and even surviving becomes questionable as time marches on. Lacey Carter Andersen’s contribution to the Wicked Reform School world is action packed and full of surprises. The main character has a strong sense of right and wrong while still being able to protect herself from the people trying to take away her right to choose how her life should go. This journey promises some of hot guys and evil machinations to deal with.

I really really liked this story. Love the characters. I really want to know more about Adam and his back story. Overall I really enjoyed this story. Like the entire story line. Haven’t read to many stories about berserkers. So that was a definite plus. Yes it ends on a cliffhanger. So be warned. I need the next book ASAP!!!!

brilliantly created world of berserkers, vampires, shifters, mutants, and other supernaturals ... Kiera is thrown into a position with many decisions but no good choices to save her and her friends ... mix in an evil king, possible traitor, and a cliffhanger

I've read almost all of the Wicked Reform School books, and this has to be one of my favourites. To me, Keira is the perfect berserker. From what I know of berserkers, in general, is that they are definitely fueled by their emotions so the fact that Keira ends up in a lot of high tension situations and not long after ends up sleeping with one of the guys, wasn't overly surprising and worked perfectly for her characters.

Berserkers females aren't meant to be able to transform, and that's what lands Keira in the Wicked Reform School along with someone she didn't expect. While she is there she makes connections with beings she probably never imagined she would.

It's a brilliant story and I can't wait to read book two.

I enjoyed the concept of a female berserker, but I didn't get the whole fake "I can't actually berserk as a female" subplot that makes Emory and Kiera end up in the reform school to begin with. She obviously shows that she can berserk by a teacher, and the king finds out immediately after she's sent to the school. Unnecessarily hidden drama.

It's also not very clear exactly how this reform school works. All the classes that are described are either some sort of torture that kills a student, or some random violent battling classes. What exactly are they learning about to reform?? Or is the whole point to throw them into violent psychopathic scenarios and make sure they don't shift and lose control? What exactly are the final tests and why do people fail? Why exactly is it structured as a school and not just a regular prison? It was never explained very well in this book and just sort of hand-waved as a problem for the future.

The three males in the harem were likeable enough, although Adam was rather painfully naive at times. All those secret powers revealed in the final battle were rather meh, and new supernatural species were thrown in rather haphazardly as hired villains, but I'm interested enough in finding out exactly what Emory was up to in the next book. Hopefully, it redeems his traitorous behavior.

What happened here?? 😅😅

It like that it's Multi-POV..... But that's the only positive I have. It's incredibly flat in the character development and storyline - everything feels flat. I don't understand what happened 🙈🙈

I really liked the idea of a berserker character and thought the FMC would be this badass - - but it's like she is on resume only 😅 She has strength, skill and training - but then doesn't seem to have a clue what to do in situations or freezes or just stands there awaiting her presumed end 🙈🙈 She's also shocked hearing information for the fourth time in a 24 hr period cause I guess it didn't connect with her the other times 🙉🙈🙈

Villain POV Chp - - not my fave and felt entirely unnecessary. There is nothing learned in that chapter that we don't learn from others.

We know from the blurb that there will be fated mates. And sometimes with fated mates there is insta-lust of an overwhelming level. This has that with two of the Hs having their first and only impressions of the FMC being they need to f*ck her. There's some description of the inexplicable pull towards her, but it mostly comes across as heavy gotta get their 🍆💦 and then felt zero heat with the first smex scene cause nothing is built up and everything is so gd flat

Sooooo Good, Doesn't deserve the 2 star rating in my opinion by any stretch of the imagination!!!!!!!!! This book kicks off a Multi Author set of books all set around the wicked reform school and to be fair i probably may have completely missed this series if it wasn't for the fact that i am on the ARC team for a book later in the in the series which was so good it prompted me to go back and start from book 1.
I couldn't picture a female Beserker being sexy but Lacey has portrayed our Heroine so well.
I love the fact that all her men are damaged/broken in some way but as a team they fin peace and become whole - or at least that's what you think.
There are some real shockers along the way plus twists and turns with plenty of heat and sizzle, along with a heartbreaking moment or two - definateley worth a read- cant wait for the next book.

not bad but I was confused

Not bad but I was confused on the beginning for a few chapters. If felt like there may have been another’s series I needed to read before staring this book 1 but I don’t recall it beginning mentioned on the blurb. Oh well. The first couple of chapters were tough to get threw. I had but put the book down and came back to it a few months later to try again. Will be going to book 2

I loved this book. I really liked Keira. I also really enjoyed that this was berserker.

Drake was not what I expected after we first meet him, which was a pleasant surprise. Adam is a sweetheart. I'm looking forward to the next book on Keira and her guys' journey.

Keira had thought that a night out on the town with her berserker friends would be the highlight to her graduation, but instead it ended in one of her friends dying and Keira unlocking her berserker abilities. After killing a bunch of vampires to avenge her friend she was sentenced to the Wicked Reform School to try to mend her murderous ways and become a vital part of the supernatural society again. But this school is not like any other. Underage supernaturals go there to die for the entertainment of the sadistic teachers. They are put through classes that all have the potential to kill any number of them in the process. Keira though catches the eye of a few men who will stop at nothing to keep her safe. A dragon shifter who is too cocky and sure of himself. A mutant that avoids the malice of the world and remains in solitude. And a berserker from Keira's past she never thought she'd see again. Can these three men help Keira get out alive or will they all die agonizing deaths one by one?

The story overall has a lot of good facets to it. The mystery is an intriguing one. Why did Keira's friend die? Why is Keira the only female berserker to present with abilities? What does the prophecy say in its entirety because it feels like some things are missing. The execution of the plot seems a bit... quick and forced. I have never been much for characters that hop into bed with each other just because of an overwhelming attraction they can't find. The whole love at first sight just isn't believable enough for me. So the connections between Keira and her men aside from one seemed to just kind of happen out of nowhere. So it caused the story, for me, to suffer a bit.

Her men definitely cover the full scope of lovers. She has the sweet and innocent one in Adam. The cocky lady's man in Drake. And the brooding quiet one who tries to resist her in Emory. I definitely find Adam to be one of my favorites. He seems to be learning how to socialize effectively all on the fly. He reminds me of someone with autism that can't really figure out social cues well. But he tried so hard and was so happy to have friends that my heart melted for him. I do hope in the next few books they get more into his history because I am really curious about this whole "mutant" thing.

The book was shorter than I would have liked and did feel a little rushed but it was not a bad story. It didn't have bad characters either. It was worth the read if you plan to read the whole series but not if you think you're just going to read the first and then quit there.

Complete Series Review

⎯» Rating: 2.75–3 Stars

⎯» Genre(s): Paranormal Romance

⎯» POV: Multiple—First Person

This wasn’t my favorite book or series by Anderson. I lost interest with the plot more often than I’d have liked, but given that each book is relatively short, I still found the motivation to finish. Sadly, I felt like the characters lost structure the further into the trilogy I got. The only one who held up across all three books was Adam (who I absolutely adore).

Also, the antagonist was insufferable, he had no dimensions, he was just entirely pure evil. Additionally, I never came to understand how the House of Berserkers came to be seen as the ruling body, other than the fact that they had more territory. I don’t know, it seemed like an egotistical berserker named himself king, and everyone just let him get away with that.

Maybe I wasn’t in the right frame of mind when I read this, as a lot of other people have given it a high rating, whilst I found it to be lackluster. Given that I am a fan of the author, I’m just going to say that this one wasn’t for me, but I’ll still read other books by her in the future.

So I came into this audiobook blind, not knowing what the series was about but knowing the cover looked pretty BA haha. I will say I was disappointed by some things and hopeful with others.

In terms of the narration I thought it was just ok. I know not all authors can do dual or duet narration but I think this could have really used that male narrator, especially with how great her male characters were written and how they would have sounded with a deep male voice. The female narrator did a good job with the female characters but was just alright with the guys. It didnt keep me in the story, I was often getting distracted while doing chores and having to rewind because my brain couldnt stay on the story. This is the main reason I gave it 3 stars. I think the narration teamed up with some instant love/lust that came out of nowhere just didnt mesh with the storyline so I wasn't enjoying it as much as I had wanted. Now I think there is a lot of potential with the plot and the characters, I like the idea of a female berserker, who can handle herself. I like the different creatures who make up her harem. I like how the guys got close and defended each other. I did enjoy all the growly moments from one of the guys in particular haha. Again, there is a good idea and story here but I don't think it was executed the best way (and the narration didn't help elevate it, which is they whole point of them. To help bring these characters to life to keep the listener engaged).

I will be keeping a lookout for the other audiobooks on Scribd where I can use my monthly subscription to listen, to see how the rest of the story panned out!

Untamed was the first berserker book I have read and I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it. The cover alone was an eye-catcher but the premise had me intrigued. A female lead character that transformed into something rare and coveted and more legendary than real…I mean really?! That alone sounded cool but then toss in the fascinating characters, the suspenseful, engaging storyline and I was hooked! There were so many facets of this story to enjoy and I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.

Lacey did a fabulous job with the characters and their continued development throughout the book. Kiera was a wonderful female lead. Her entire life changed after one dreadful night and she was sent to a reform school that basically had no rules, the teachers were almost worse than the students and everything there was cut-throat. It was a literal fight for survival moment by moment and Kiera was thrown into the mix with the expectation from everyone to fail. She was fierce and strong, yet soft and kind and she had a huge heart and a sassy attitude. She also formed some interesting, very different attachments to a few of the other students while she struggled to find her footing and learn who to trust (and I have to say here that wow, one of those choices went horribly wrong!).

The guys - Adam, Drake, and Emory – each brought a balance to Kiera and the others in different ways. Drake was cocky, deadly, and sexy with a quick wit and commanding presence. Adam was an enigma and I really am dying to learn more about him. He had endearing qualities and was sweet and gentle yet protective with a side of inner-alpha. Then there was Emory. He was also a complicated mystery with ties to Kiera’s youth and her survival. He had the brute strength but was damaged in many ways which left an uncertain feel about him. I will not say any more about these guys for fear of giving something away. I will just say that they were wonderfully written and all have more of their stories to tell as the series progresses and they each learn how to work together and tolerate each other for the benefit of them all, as well as Kiera’s love.

This story was exciting from beginning to end and there were plenty of twists and turns, fascinating insights, emotions, danger, betrayal, shocking events, and romance along the way. And the ending was a bite your nails, hold your breath kind thing that will have you so ready to one-click that next installment right away. It was just fantastic!

This book was refreshing and I freaking loved it. There are not many books about beserkers and the fact that this is a reverse harem is a plus. So we have Kiera who is a girl who can handle her own. When you have a protective father and brothers you tend to know things. She is one tough chick but she also doesn't take crap for anyone. Emory, the tortured soul you will never know what fence you will be on with him. Drake, well he is all alpha but also sweet when you get to know him. Adam, knows he is different. So what do they have in common. Kiera! So they end up in Wicked Reform School. How did they get there? They say that it is not easy to graduate from there. Also they have their own rules they go by. Another thing is why does King Maxen want Kiera so bad? All I can tell you is you will need to read this story to find out what happens. So now I need to figure out how this series continues. That ending is not fair at all when the next book is a completely different story. Ugh Lacy Carter Anderson help a reader out and let me know if there is another season of this. I preordered this whole series.. Well I guess I need to get to reading to see what happens.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ahhh! Unique and awesome.

I looooooooove this so much, I love the idea of a female berserker, which makes this awesome because I have never read anything like it.

I was a bit worried about the academy type setting, but it totally fits in line with the plot and isn’t focused on more than it should be, plus hidden in the academy are gems like my favourite harem member who is too wholesome for my soul.

The characters really make this series pop. They are all well developed with flaws (Hazar!), and their dynamic isn’t totally fluid which is great because it means development.

I was on edge the entire time reading this because I was not sure what to expect. The ending was something else and cracked me on the head like a sledgehammer knocking me off a cliff!

My soul left my body to go and find the next book after reading that because, uh, hello author? Books aren’t supposed to end this way?! Fell off a mountain and got sucked into Mariana’s trench with that OMG blinding cliff hanger.

Although, I’m guaranteed to read the next book (who couldn’t after that ending), plus this one was just so awesome, and I’m now emotionally invested in the characters even the bad guys.

This is a fast-paced, dramatic start to a series placed in the Wicked Reform school. If you like your stories fast and focused, full of drama, and fast-burn romance (or rather steam), then this could be the right pick for you. Kiera fits nicely the description of a berserker with all main characteristics included, and on top, she can succumb to her rage and go berserk as the only female around - a fact that is tied to a prophecy of power. Which paints a target on her back and is the cause for her to end up at the wicked school. There were some aspects of the world or character building that I'd like to have more developed - the school just sounds like a prison disguised as place to learn something - but we don't get many serious answers what they are supposed to learn (self-control in case of berserkers, but the others?) and how, or what classes they actually take.. and then there is the warning that "you don't want to know what happens if you miss classes or are late", but when Kiera misses a whole day of her classes it's like nothing happened, next round of violent classes is up. There were more such things which led me to deduct a star from the rating, but I liked the three men in Kiera's harem enough to like the book in total

This is my first time reading a book about beserkers that had a female in the clan...not only that, she is the MC! That alone made it something I wanted to read. The story did not disappoint! Kiera is sent to a reformatory prision after her first unexpected shift when she destroys a group of murdering vampires and learns that it is much more like a life sentence than reformatory to many. There she finds 3 champions (and mates) to help her in her quest to actually survive and graduate at the end of her sentence. One is an old friend/love from home, one is a hybrid thought to be less than by those at the reformatory and one is a dragon shifter. As she realizes that graduation is not the only thing she needs to achieve, but also escaping the nefarious plot of a man who considers himself the beserker King and wants her as his queen. She knows she has a fight in front of her and her men don't allow her to face it alone. I will warn it ends in a cliff hanger that will leave you wanting more. If you like RH and you like a strong, no nonsense heroine, I think you'll enjoy this book.

One thing I love about Lacey Carter Andersen's books is that she doesn't stick with the normal vampire, wolf shifter and demon paranormals. Sure, they'll show up, but she looks at a much wider range of creatures!

This book is no different, with the FMC being a rare female berserker, and her harem another berserker, a dragon shifter and Adam, a "mutant" - quite what he is and how he came to be is only touched upon and I hope is covered in more detail in later books!

I don't read a lot of academy books, but the Wicked Reform School is more of a prison than a school and the characters are mid 20s.

It's an action packed story, with a few twists and a cliffhanger - thankfully the next book is out already, I'm a bit behind on my TBR list, so I'll be starting that next! Looking forward to reading more and Keira and her guys and also looking into the rest of the Wicked Reform School universe.

Heart Wrenching

**WARNING! Cliffhanger!**
Although this is one of the books in the Wicked Reform School author collaboration, it is also the first book in the Berserker series by Lacey Carter. It is not a standalone, and needs to be read as part of that series...

Kiera is a rare female berserker, and they don’t normally shift- until one day Kiera does, an action which leads to her ending up in the Wicked reform school.
There she meets her mates, and she learns about the depraved man who is determined to get her to marry him at any cost.

At times heart-wrenchingly sad, at others sweet, this book is a dark fantasy, with some disturbing imagery (particularly with respect to the ‘bad guy’).
The background history of the male leads is sad, and the incident that instigates Kiera’s incarceration is tragic too.
It’s a good book though, despite the dark nature of it, and well written. Be prepared to line up the next book and pre-order the third!

Recommended for fans of darker urban fantasy and RH paranormal romance.

I could not get enough of this. I have never read a book about berserkers and I absolutely loved it! This book is full of action and plenty of twists and turns that keep you going until the end. I absolutely loved the life that Lacey brought to this book and hot Kiera is very sure in what is right and wrong.

I am dying after that ending and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. The men in this book have their own story to tell and I hope to find out more about them in the next book. Kiera has to figure out who she can really trust and she does have some strong feelings. There were plenty of moments that I just wanted to smack the men because of their stupid moments and other times that they were sweet that made me want to forgive them. I would definitely recommend you pick up this book and read about this amazing Berserker and find out what happens next. The Wicked Reform School is not a peachy keen place and has it own rules so be prepared for anything to happen.

Checked out with Kindle unlimited in January 2023. My first novel by Lacey Carter Andersen is centered around the House of Berserkers within the Wicked Reform School. Kiera is a female berserker sentenced to the school after berserking to avenge a fallen friend. As one of the only female berserkers that can, she finds a huge target on her back but also help in unexpected places. The world that this school is in was intriguing and I'm interested to learn about the other author series for the Houses. The plot and pacing were effective in building suspense. The cliffhanger has me ready to continue the series. Kiera was a strong female lead, and the subplots for the male leads were interesting but I struggled with how fast those relationships progressed. Even though there was discussion of the mate factor, it felt a bit rushed but that's my issue and not the authors. Adam and his cat, Princess, were my favorites from this. (3/5 rating)

This a prison/academy RH story, but what really sets it apart from the other RH prison stories out there is that the female MC Kiera is actually guilty of the crime she gets sent to prison for (it's actually a reform school but more like a prison than an academy). Another unique spin to this story is that Kiera is a female berserker, now I have read books about berserkers before but usually, they are all male. The characters are well fleshed out and this story shares the Wicked Reform School world (this is a multi-author shared world series). I am really looking forward to the next book in the series by Lacey and all the authors who will share this world with her. Be warned that this book does end on a cliff (still recommend it though)!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
