As a child, she'd get lost in books for hours, using a flashlight to read under the covers long past bed time. She read her first romance novel as a preteen and was immediately hooked by the swoon-worthy heroes and daring, spunky damsels. Though her reading tastes have definitely matured, Suzette continues to enjoy romance novels, especially those of the erotic, paranormal, fantasy, or historical variety. She writes almost as voraciously as she reads and typically falls head over heels in love with her heroes.
Though everyday types of romantic situations do appeal to her, stories that include adventure, intrigue, or danger have always made Suzette's heart go pitter patter. If they incorporate some science fiction too, she is even happier. You'll find elements like these in most of her stories as well as strong heroines who can take care of themselves but sometimes enjoy letting someone else take the lead.
Suzette lives on the East Coast with five little people who help keep her spirit young and her imagination fresh.

Suzette Rose Cauler brings the start of what promises to be an amazing new series with Taking Chances. I really liked the character of Dakota; she is brave, strong, and just a little bit vulnerable. She seems very trapped when we first meet her. But she is smart and listens to her instincts.
Kane is protective, strong, and slightly confused. He doesn’t know exactly who he is dealing with but he knows he wants Dakota. She brings out the protector inside of him, and the very unfamiliar feeling of love.
Together they will battle for the truth. These two have some real hurdles to overcome but they do and find love along the way.
I loved the connections these characters have. I also like how Ms. Cauler makes me want more of her vampires and the world they live in. I would like to see more books in this world and find out what creatures live there. I also have a real urge to have Kane’s brother find someone who loves him and can tame him. I hope his story comes up soon.
There is lots of lusty romance to keep you turning the pages but for me the story itself is one I will not soon forget.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:
FREAKING AWESOME PARANORMAL ROMANCE! This was the first thing that popped in my head immediately after reading Taking Chances by Suzette Cauler. Even though this was a short romance, I enjoyed EVERY single page and word of this book. I was absolutely thrown for a loop when I realized that Dakota wasn't just the normal type of shifter that turned into an animal...but the kind of shifter that can turn into just about ANYONE, human, immortal, or animal. I thought that was so cool and different that it was pretty extraordinary in my eyes.
Kane was one SEXY vampire. I liked his immediate reaction to Dakota and his need to protect her and make love to her was a powerful thing I could feel on the pages.
I got to see a little bit of humor, a lot of action, and a heck of a lot of lust and some REALLY hot sex scenes in Taking Chances. There is nothing average about this story and should definitely be read by those that love paranormal romance featuring unique shape-shifters and sexy vampires.
I gave this story a FULL FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!! This has got to be one of my favorites in short stories. I can't wait to read more books by Suzette Cauler. Paranormal romance is a relatively new genre for me. Odd, for a fantasy/scifi junkie, but true. So this is the first paranormal romance I've ever read from a Siren author. And let me tell you, IT WAS HOT!
Dakota is a talented thief, shifter, and all-around badass. Tasked with stealing a mysterious elixir from a playboy vampire, she doesn't bat an eye. And when she gets caught at it...well, let's just say the sparks fly (igniting sheets and panties along the way!)
Suzette is an extremely talented writer. I am very, VERY picky when it comes to writing style, and Suzette doesn't disappoint. I loved the way her characters think, the way they interact, the way they express themselves...just about everything. My only complaint would be this book is too short cuz I wanted MORE, dang it!
If you love sassy heroines, smokin' hot vampires, and lots of action, this book is for you. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

After she bests him, Kane tracks Dakota down and finally the passion between the two ignite. When Dakota's life is on the line, Kane can't let her go.
This is a hot read with an intriguing storyline. I cannot wait to read the next book to see where the story of Dakota and Kane goes.
