Her biggest mistake comes with fangs…and a nose for tracking her down.

The Order of the Wolf, Book 1

Wherever there’s a lying, cheating scumbag who’s broken a woman’s heart, Vengeance Dealer Darcy Wells is there. So what if she isn’t the most skilled witch around? She’s only using one spell, which leaves the hapless male suffering tormenting lust for one woman. Her.

The beautiful part? This curse comes equipped with a blinding agent, allowing her a clean getaway. Unrequited lust, coming right up! As far as Darcy is concerned, it’s justice served. Her next target: Raven Glock, rock band bassist and drop-dead-gorgeous sex god.

When Raven lays eyes on the luscious Darcy, he gives her what he promises all the starry-eyed groupies who toss their panties at him—one unforgettable night in his bed. Sex with Darcy is so epic that he forgets his cardinal rule: to get her out before morning.

At the crack of sunrise, Darcy serves Raven a face full of cursed ash. But something goes horribly wrong…and she finds herself magically tethered to one pissed-off werewolf.

Worse, breaking the spell could cost her everything…maybe even her life.

Warning: Sexually explicit language, tattoos, piercings, and giant…um…feet. Wet panties are a given. Author assumes no responsibility for spontaneous ravishment of significant others, pool boys, or local pizza delivery personnel.

Ok so I freely admit that I adore urban and paranormal stories and if there's romance involved then I'm always up for reading it. So spotting this new to me author being recommended by an author whose work I love ( the fabulous DB Reynolds ) I just had to give it a go. It's the first in a new series and quite a lot shorter than I had hoped but introduces a rock group made up of werewolves , yes big hairy tattooed rock gods that change into slobbering beasts! Wow that's a great premise for a series and there's so many books around at the moment featuring hot rockers that finding something so different is no mean feat! Congrats Ms Addams on such an inspired idea.
Raven is the bass player for Riot a rock band that's a guaranteed hot ticket but these guys are no run of the mill rockers just messing around no, these seriously bad ass boys are all werewolves. Fronted by their alpha Mayhem they live life to the Max and play their hearts out for their fans and then party even harder. Raven isn't looking for any kind of permanent relationship and has always been careful to never sleep with the same woman twice and that's ok because they all know the score, right? Well maybe not because not everyone is happy to feel unwanted and discarded .
Darcy is a witch and whilst she may still be learning her craft that doesn't mean she's idle . No, Darcy earns her living as a Vengeance Dealer and casts a powerful curse causing whoever is marked by it to yearn helplessly for her but Darcy always gets away leaving the cursed male wanting. She has been contacted by some women who want Raven to pay for making them suffer and Darcy has no trouble with it as in her eyes he's guilty but when she hooks up with him and casts her spell things go horribly wrong. First the spell seems to snap into place with one hell of a tug and second Raven transforms into a werewolf! This is catastrophic as not only does the curse react strangely but it's clear that a werewolf will be able to track her. Darcy is on the run but Raven and his pack are hot on her heels !
Ok first things first it's too short! I really wanted a longer read in order to get more character background and development but having said that this book was a page turner. It's a very sexy read right from the outset but for me it's the whole set up with a wolf pack , witches and even hunters that got and held my attention. Unique characters with dialogue that felt realistic and I'm curious to learn more about the fellow band members. The possible addition of hunters in subsequent stories really allows for much more development and I truly hope for a much longer book next time. I would certainly read more from this author and truly enjoyed this fast paced story.

Such a promising series!! The sex is hot, the characters are flawed and cool, and there's spells and marking and sex... did I mention the sex? S-T-E-A-M-Y...

Highly recommended to even those who don't like erotica:)

Cursed is the first novella in Angela Addams' Order of the Wolf series and features bad boy rocker and werewolf, Raven, and a Justice Dealer named Darcy.

While I really liked Raven and understood his issues and severe lack of interest in monogamy, I barely tolerated Darcy. A Justice Dealer who doesn't do background checks on the person she is cursing is about as frakkin lazy as it gets. Darcy wasn't dealing out justice, she was curing someone who was possibly innocent. Raven is a rock star and had many, many groupies. That is a thought Darcy should have had before taking on the case and cursing the man. When it comes to celebrities and/or anyone famous, women can't seem to keep their legs closed. How could Darcy be so ignorant to that?

Honestly, I felt sorry for Raven and wanted to throttle Darcy. The only redeeming thing about Cursed was the world building and mythology. The mythology surrounding werewolves was different from anything I've read in the past. Throw in the whole Huntress mythology and I was intrigued. Sadly, it took far too long to get to a point where I wanted to know more. I blame that on Darcy and her ignorance.

Another thing annoyed me, false advertising.
Warning: Sexually explicit language, tattoos, piercings, and giant…um…feet. Wet panties are a given. Author assumes no responsibility for spontaneous ravishment of significant others, pool boys, or local pizza delivery personnel.
I gotta disagree with that statement. While the language may have been explicit and the hero was heavily tattooed and had multiple piercings, wet panties are not a given. I found the smexy times in Cursed to be lukewarm at best. I went into this book expecting hotness and found it lacking. Granted my idea of hot may differ from the norm but when an author makes a statement like that and it doesn't hold up, I feel the need to comment on it.

I would've liked more of the sexiness that is Raven and much less of the annoying, ignorance that is Darcy. At this point, I have no interest in reading more in the Order of the Wolf series. I give Cursed 2.5 stars.

I've known, virtually-speaking, Angie for years, We met on Kelley Armstrong's now defunct message board and I've reviewed some of her earlier works. I was excited when she was signed by Samhain for her new series Order of the Wolf, and I offered to review the first book, "Cursed." Not only is it by someone I like but it has witches, werewolves, a hot cover, and hot sex *starts to sing "My Favorite Things"* Oh, sorry. Erm, back to the book. So, the book has some of my favorite things, predisposing me to like it. It starts off fast and furious as you'll see when you read the excerpt.

Darcy is a witch and not a very competent one at that plus she's lazy. Then she meets Raven, who she has been hired to curse. But because she failed to do due diligence, she doesn't realize that he's a werewolf and his band is a pack of wolves. The spell backfires and suddenly she's running for her life. Darcy was hard to like at times, a problem I've had with other heroines of Addams'. Darcy is lazy, shallow, and foolish. But, during the story, she comes to realize her mistakes and failings and starts to finally grow up.

Raven is also shallow, he loves having serial one-night stands and never gives a`thought to the women he's sleeping with. He does, however, love his pack mates. He wants Darcy as soon as he sees her, which suits her fine. The sparks fly, the sex is hot, but when Darcy throws her curse, she gets caught in the backfire and soon she's running for her life. The pack wants her, preferably dead; Raven, wants her, in his bed; and there's a powerful witch who wants to enslave her.

I'm not fond of insta-lust and insta-love, both of which we get in this story, but I didn't mind them too much in this story. Both Raven and Darcy grow in this story and it was believable, which also made all of the insta-attraction more bearable. There are some twists and turns that had me going "Wait, what?" and Addams gives us a new take on werewolves. Combine that with strong world building and some steamy love scenes and I'm ready for more. Good thing I have an ARC of book two on my Kindle. :)

Cursed is the first book in the Order of the Wolf series and it is a good quick read and a nice start to the series. I really enjoyed this novella and I laughed so hard at times because man this poor witch really screwed up when she cursed a werewolf. Thinking that she was getting vengeance for all those women he had one night stands with came back and bit her in the ass big time. I loved it when Darcy and Raven were together you could almost feel the sexual tension any time they were close to each other, hell I wanted to push Darcy out of the way and get me some of Raven myself.
I do wish that this would have been longer because it all kind of wrapped up quickly in the end and leaves you wanting to know who the next book will be about and what else will be thrown in Darcy and Raven’s way. I really hope that the next book is a full length novel because if done properly this series can be one of those that will take off and have a lot of fans. I am a huge paranormal romance fan and am always on the lookout for new favorites and I hope I will be able to add this series to that list as well, time will tell.

Library Journal review:

Addams, Angela. Cursed. Samhain. (Order of the Wolf, Bk. 1). Aug. 2014. 95p. ebk. ISBN 97814619220225. $3.50. PARANORMAL ROMANCE
Witch Darcy Wells has an unusual career as a Vengeance Dealer. Her latest job: seduce and curse Raven Glock, womanizing love-’em-and-leave-’em bassist for the band Riot. The plot setup allows for practically instantaneous sex and that sex is scorching hot and detailed. After a mind-blowing night, Darcy curses Raven just as the sun rises, binding him to her even as the curse blinds him to her presence. The curse blows back at her big time as Raven is no ordinary man. He’s a werewolf, and now he and his pack are hunting for Darcy, believing she is his mate. Darcy and Raven are both somewhat shallow, deeply flawed characters who gain depth as the story progresses, which allows for some interesting pangs of conscience. The worldbuilding and ending are wide open for further stories in this universe.
Verdict: Lots and lots of hot and heavy sexual activity and a fairly interesting premise help to give this superquick read just enough plot and characterization to make it worthwhile for fans of paranormal romance.—Charli Osborne, Oxford P.L., MI

Darcy Wells is a vengeance dealer and her next target is Raven Glock, rock band bassist and drop-dead gorgeous sex god only something goes wrong and she finds herself tethered to a pissed off werewolf in this riveting, erotic paranormal romance.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot holds readers spellbound with suspense, excitement and passion. The author brings the story to life with well written words and details that capture the imagination and strong compelling characters that grab the reader’s attention while the world intrigues the readers and ensures that they want to know more.

The attraction between Darcy and Raven explode from the pages with vibrant intensity and the sex scenes are scorching hot but the relationship has a very rocky start as Darcy curses Raven and pisses him off. Raven is torn between rage and wanting to mate with Darcy and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as they race to find a way to end the curse and find more than they bargained for.

Spine tingling tension builds as they are set up and danger comes for them which spices the story up even more. I found this quick read to be an enjoyable passionate read with fascinating characters, and even though I wish it had been longer, I can’t wait to read the next one.

The opening story of a new series, CURSED gives us a taste of what's to come in Addams Order of the Wolf. SOME SPOILERS*** Raven is as sexy as they come, a rockstar werewolf who "sleeps" with one woman after every gig. No promises, except a night of terrific and memorable sex. Darcy is a witch who deals out vengeance for wronged women, which in this case includes a bunch of women who were looking for something more from Raven than what he promised. Initially, I loved Raven (what's not to love?) and didn't particularly like Darcy--because she was trying to hurt my Raven! As we learn more about Darcy, though, we discover two things. First, she has a connection with Raven that she didn't count on, and two, she's been manipulated for much of her life by people she trusted. Darcy has a life altering choice to make and these people want to be sure her choice goes the way they want. The outcome of this story introduces us to the world that Addams will build on in the future. This is a novella, so not enough pages for the author to fully flesh out her world, but there's just enough to make me want to know more.

Cursed (The Order of the Wolf #1) by Angela Addams The last thing Rock Star, Raven Glock, expects after a one-night-stand with Darcy Wells is to be cursed. The curse goes wrong and now the two are magically bound to each other.

Darcy is an interesting character. She is a Vengeance Dealer, that was hired to target Raven. Unfortunately, she doesn’t get all her facts straight. Raven was upfront with every woman whom he was with that it would not progress further than one night, so he was wrongfully accused. She discovers that she was lied to by people that are supposed to be her allies. She is admirable for doing the right thing.

Raven is a likeable hero. He is obviously upset about being cursed, but he is smart for listening to his wolf.

Cursed is an entertaining book with some surprising twists. It was a unique and fun book that I enjoyed. It is a short story of 87 pages, that is easy to get through in one sitting.

Darcy does one thing - she curses guys that women feel have done them wrong. Next on her list is Raven - who happens to be a werewolf. After a night of amazing sex, Darcy does her thing but this one feels different and she needs to reverse it - if it's possible.

Very short but hot read from Addams. Darcy is a bit naive and slightly gullible and Raven is all alpha-male and growly. There's chemistry and it's sizzling - the story isn't great but I don't know if it's because there wasn't time to embellish what with this being a novella or if it's just not that great a story to tell.

The thing I find with a lot of these short, sexy stories is that I can't read some of the dialogue without snorting 'cos I just find it so funny - and I don't think it's meant to be funny. Sexy talk always comes across as so corny and unbelievable to me and it actually does put me off a story slightly when I have to read a lot of it - which there is in this.

Raven is a take charge type of boy and he really doesn't like to repeat himself especially where Darcy is concerned, "I said take your effing clothes off, girl. You want me? I'm right effing here." He reached down and gripped his c*** in one massive hand, then stroked up the shaft to encircle his head. "Waiting for you." Darcy is a cute little thing and I love the easiness they have with each other, "they landed in a heap, arms and legs entangled, chests heaving, bodies slick with sweat and other things. "You are amazing," Darcy said with a giggle. Raven smiled and pulled her closer, coaxing her head to rest on his chest." I loved Raven's alphaness it was extremely hot, "I need to mark you properly." His voice was thick, his c*** hard." I can't wait to see what's next in this series, and what the author comes up with.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick and super sexy read involving witches, werewolves, and who knows what else! The first in the series, this was a little introduction to the author's world that has already hinted at so much more.

Darcy is a sorta/kinda witch who deals in vengeance lust spells. She feels like a tough chick until the night she has to snare Raven, the bassist of a popular band. Raven is, of course, more than she imagines in both the sexual chemistry department and in the fact that he is actually a werewolf.

There's a lot of misdirection, mistrust, and, well, sex that happens pretty quickly. Darcy and Raven's romance was more one of lusty fated mates, with a few twists thrown in. Overall, it was a sizzling hot beginning to what hopefully will be a nice set of stories.

So, I know that you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover. However, when I saw this, all I could think was "gimme" as I'm a sucker for tattooed boys.

This is a relatively short novella, but make sure you put aside some time when you start as you'll want to devour it in one sitting.

There's not much foreplay and the book starts off strong & steamy. Darcy, a Vengeance Dealer, was hired to curse Raven. After a night of hot and heavy, Darcy tries to curse Raven, but it doesn't quite go right given that he is a werewolf.

This is a great 1st installment and definitely leaves you wanting more (without an evil cliffhanger). The story ends at a decent point but with some open possibilities to expand on.

Looking forward to seeing more of Darcy & Raven.

Fist it was way to short to get into any of the characters of the book. I don't know why I always read these books under 150 pages when I hate short books! lol Anyway, this is kind of a weird take on werewolves, they are ruled by the sun and moon, kind of like vampires. They are human in the dark but wolves during the day. They are able to shift during the day if their emotions run high. Then there is a witch that curses men who she believes have wronged women. Ehhh, it was ok and I'll keep reading it because my nook is acting up and I need something to read!

I’m a proud lover of paranormal romance and always on the look out for new and exciting authors. So it’s no mystery that if you come recommended by my absolute favourite PNR author (D.B. Reynolds) you’re off to a good start.

Werewolf series are definitely plentiful, but Ms Addams has put her own special twist on this genre, with her larger than life, sexy as all get out, super HOT rockers, forced into their change with the rising of the sun.

That’s right; all members of the successful rock band Riot are members of the same pack and while they work and play hard by night, they are restricted to a secluded existence by day as the wolf claims their soul.

In this first instalment of the Order of the Wolf, Raven Glock, tall, dark and gorgeous, is a lover of ALL women, but on a one time only basis. Raven makes no secret that if you make into his bed, enjoy the ride, cause you won’t be getting a second chance.

Darcy Wells is a less than extraordinary witch, who has taken it upon herself to become a Vengeance Dealer; in a nutshell, if a man has wronged you, she will bring her own special kind of wrath on your behalf. But when Darcy embarks on her mission to make Raven pay for his man-whore ways, she is little prepared for the unquenchable desire he ignites in her being, or the catastrophe her actions are about to unleash.

While CURSED is only novella in length, it sets the foundation of this intriguing world, where danger, misguided conceptions and an all-consuming passion combine to draw the reader back, again and again.

What would you do if you were told what you felt was a result of a curse? Raven Glock lusted after a witch. What was a confused sexy, bad boy werewolf to do especially since he lost her?

Would you continue to look for a cure or give up? Darcy Wells (vengeance dealer, witch, maybe something more?) launched herself into a partnership with Raven Glock (werewolf, rock band bassist, tattooed, pierced, bad boy) to break the curse. Will she show patience or be reckless? Will they be able to break the curse in time?

A fantastic read. I literally could not stop reading until I finished it all. I love Angela Addams' writing style, very quirky and fun. Her characters are very lovable. My favourite character has to be Raven. I fell for him instantly. Every girl needs a Raven in her life. Angela paints the sexual chemistry between the main characters very well. Her sex scenes are very tastefully written. I would definitely recommend this novel to anyone who likes a bit of paranormal romance. Werewolves and witches and hunters, oh my! Go and buy this, and read it!
