This series just keeps getting better and better. Problems continue at Gracey Ranch. Fierce Protector is Book 4 in the Bad Boy Ranch series. Ledger, a retired Navy Seal, comes to help at the ranch and is still dealing with his demons. Demi is the smart, sassy, and independent large animal vet in town. The two have a hot one night stand, only to cross paths again. Demi thought he was just passing through. She ends up pregnant, but is Ledger ready to be a dad? These two really had insane chemistry. The danger continues, but we do end on a happy note for this couple. I love this series so far. It's the perfect blend of romance and mystery.

This is the fourth book in the Bad Boy Ranch series and brings Ledger and Demi's story. The author takes you into their lives with an instant connection, steam and a one night stand which results in a surprise. She kept me reading with the danger and mystery. I enjoyed seeing some of the past characters and am looking forward to the next book.

I loved this book from beginning to end. Ledger and Demi were a couple meant to be together. Add in a surprise pregnancy and a whole lot of supsense you have a story that will keep you hooked and chearing them on for a happy ending.

Ledger has had a rough time adjusting from his time as a SEAL and being haunted by his guilt. While Demi is the local vetinarian that thought Ledger was a one night stand until she discovered he wasn't just passing through town.

I love that Demi is a stong woman that doesn't let anyone push her.

All of the characters including the secondary are well written personalities.

I suggest you pick up this book, you will not be disappointed.

This is book four of the Bad Boy Ranch series and the main characters in this episode are retired Navy SEAL Ledger Bell, who has been struggling ever since his last mission and is the latest SEAL to come and help out on the Gracey Ranch, and large animal veterinarian Demi, who he connects with. He answered the call of his friends Colton, Hunter and Wolfman (Carver), to help protect the legacy of his best friend, Forest and his family’s ranch, as well as his late friend’s sisters Meadow and Ivy. After a hard day on the ranch, the others suggest he goes into town for a drink to relax a little, only to find a woman already sitting in his favourite booth. He gets a couple of drinks and takes it over to her, asking if they can share the booth. When she asks if he is from the area and he says he isn’t, she decides to invite him back to hers, so she can ride him and take some pleasure for herself. They have a fantastic chemistry and time together, but a slight accident with protection leaves her having to travel to the next town the next morning. She hadn’t planned to end up pregnant from their one night together, but lack of supplies and then being the only vet to cover a number of locations, keeps her far too busy to worry about matters, or even remember what she was going to do!

Ledger is kept busy trying to help his friends figure out how someone is still getting onto the ranch, especially when Meadow’s horse is badly injured one night. That brings Demi back around and the two are shocked to meet again, especially when she has to break the news that she is pregnant to him, although she is determined to inform him that she can manage the baby all on her own! He isn’t needed in the equation. He had enough of his own demons to fight and never really thought of having a family and a permanent relationship, although it was occasionally in his dreams. He takes umbrage of her decision to push him out of the mix, wanting to ensure she is kept safe and not doing too much in her condition! The ranch is dealing with a loan shark and a new player in the mix who has been buying out lots of their neighbours, and obviously aren’t worried about getting their hands dirty to get what they want. The ranch has already had a man killed and their women kidnapped, now it is Demi who is semes to be in danger, after another attack. Add to that a strange pack of wolves far too close to the ranch and their neighbours, plus another death, leaves Ledger determined to care for Demi, whether she wants him to or not. But he can’t be everywhere at once and she has her own patients to deal with, which she refuses to leave to suffer. The ex-SEALs and their contacts are getting closer to finding out who is behind all their troubles and put an end to them once and for all! The finale is coming, and these SEALs will not give up until they have those responsible for all the harm that has been done, located and made to pay for what they have done. I can’t wait to see how it will all work out, but mostly have enjoyed seeing these SEALs make solid connections in the area and find strong women to support them, all whilst dealing with danger and threats to the ranch.

They are utterly drawn to each other, but past hurts complicate their connection.

Love, family and healing

I enjoyed this accidental pregnancy, one night stand, healing, military romantic suspense tale. The story had a good mix of sweet, spicy, light danger, and real life issues as seen through the eyes of real, relatable, characters. Ledger is a former SEAL who lives and works on the ranch that used to belong to his best friend, Forest Gracey. The death of Forest haunts him and makes it hard to connect to others. Demi is the vet in town. Her job keeps her too busy to form deep connections. When a ONS results in an accidental pregnancy, circumstances may just force Ledger and Demi to change what’s important to them. While they’re figuring out their relationship, attacks continue at the Gracey ranch and another nearby ranch. To get to their HEA they need to unpack baggage, learn to trust, and being willing to course correct all the while staying ahead of danger. The story was well written and included engaging dialogue, characters with dimension, and an interesting storyline. Since I started with this book (book 5) without reading any other books in the series, there were some parts of the story where I felt like I was missing something especially related to the difficulties and danger the ranch and its inhabitants have been in. In addition, while the romance story arc concluded in this book, the issue of the ranch being bothered was not. I assume that story arc will continue in the next book. It might have helped my enjoyment of the story if I had read from the first book in the series since there appears to be an overarching story arc. 3.5 stars.

I enjoyed this suspenseful romance, where the surprises kept coming. Exhausted from non-stop work, vigilance to ward off their enemies, and survivor's guilt, Ledger accepts the chance to have a night out in the small Montana town to relax. Discovering that his spot at Badlands has already been taken does not stop Ledger from persuading the lovely woman sitting in his preferred seat to share the space with him. One thing leads to another and before they know it they are engaged in a heated one-night stand. Weeks later when a surprise attack occurs necessitating calling out the local vet to attend to a severely wounded horse, Ledger is more than a little surprised to see the lovely lady from the bar, who then blurts out that she is pregnant with his child. Dealing with the continual sabotage against the ranchers in the area and finding that Demi needs protection as well, keeps Ledger busier than ever. Unfortunately, they are dealing with unscrupulous and dangerous businessmen, resulting in the attacks ramping up on the Gracey Ranch and their neighbors and when Demi becomes a victim, Ledger will do whatever it takes to protect the woman he is falling in love with and the child that she is carrying. Despite the ongoing tension, Ledger and Demi do find their own happiness as the novel comes to an end. I'm a huge fan of Em Petrova's other series' - Boot Knockers Ranch and West Protection so I was really excited to step into the world of Bad Boy Ranch and I was not disappointed.

Ledger is a sexy and protective MMC and Demi is a strong and funny FMC. The chemistry and banter between them was fantastic.

Its a great story with an interesting plot, spicy times and a HEA.

This is Book 4 of the series and I'm dying now to go back to the start and read the first 3 books to get the stories for the cowboys and their partners that I met in this book.

The only thing that was weird was that there was no resolution to the storyline of who is causing the problems with all the ranches. Everyone seems to be in danger throughout the book then it just abruptly ends with the main characters HEA. I'm hoping it gets addressed in the next book?

I will definitely continue with this series.

With the continuing troubles at Gracey Ranch, Ledger didn’t hesitate to pull up stakes and join his brothers in Montana. It's a rare sight to see four Navy SEALS get bested by the bad guys, but it seems the boys at Gracey Ranch couldn’t seem to catch a break. With one bad guy out of the picture, you would think that things would settle down, but the opposite was the case. With a new player, even worse than the first, taking over the debt owed by Sean Gracey, the stakes get even higher with the boys always seeming to be one step behind. With the change of scenery, Ledger is a bit on edge and Badlands seems to be the best place to unwind. However, a scorching one-night stand with the local vet turns his world upside down. Demi never expected to see the man again, but an accident leaves her in the family way. Though Ledger is blindsided by the news he’s going to be a father, his protective instincts kick in and in the midst of all the chaos, he becomes Demi’s fierce protector. Like all the men at Gracey Ranch, Ledger is a bossy, OTT alpha male, who thinks he knows what’s best for Demi. Well, she’s not having that! Though it’s nice to be held in his strong, muscular arms and he gives her such mind-blowing orgasms! Who wouldn’t fall in love?.

WOW! The mayhem has escalated to enormous scary proportions. The Gracey Ranch is not the only place or even the only family being threatened and terrorized. Someone now is sneaking onto Ranches surrounding the Gracey Ranch causing damage, injuries, and even deaths without being seen. No one, people or animals are safe. Another SEAL has come to the Gracey Ranch to help his fellow brothers. Ledger Bell was devastated when most of his SEAL team were killed on a mission, one being his best friend, Forest Gracey. Forest used to ramble on about his beloved Gracey ranch, so Ledger came.
Demi is the 24/7 veterinarian for this small community, and she is exhausted. Local animals are being injured by someone and now a pack of hungry wolves have shown up. Taking a breather Demi meets a HOT guy, Ledger, both are in the same frame of mind and share an awesome wild, much-needed night. Ledger’s a little bigger than the condom, whoops, and a couple of months later Demi finds she’s pregnant. She is committed to her baby but surprisingly so is Ledger. He is such a wonderful caring man, and they are going to be great parents and a happy loving couple. This story is brutal, but the mystery continues. "Fierce Protector" has everything I look for in a great book: likable, well developed lead characters; a captivating storyline; and sexy, hot chemistry. Plus, seriously? How is a girl to choose a single book boyfriend out of the Bad Boy Ranch Series? After reading each book, I thought that Wolfe, Hunter, or Colton was my true ideal book boyfriend. Now, after reading "Fierce Protector", I'm adding Ledger to what appears to be an ever growing list. Thankfully, this is a time when "why choose" books are in trend. Ledger Bell has arrived to help at the Gracey Ranch. Demi is the local veterinarian for Eden and the surrounding area.

When Ledger goes to the local bar, Badlands Bar and Distillery, he finds Demi sitting in the booth he prefers. He buys her a beer and asks to sit in the booth with her. She agrees. She asks him if he is from around there and he says no. She thinks he’s hot and since he’s not from there, Demi feels it is safe to have a one night fling with him. She finishes her beer and tells him to come with her. They have a fling but the condom breaks which dampens the mood and they go their separate ways.

Six weeks later, Demi is called to the Gracey Ranch. Meadow’s prize rodeo horse has been injured. Someone cut the tendon in his leg. Demi sews the horse up hoping it will be enough to save the leg. She is surprised to see Ledger there. As she rushes to her car, Ledger catches up to her. She blurts out that she is pregnant. Ledger decides to be her protector from now on.

There was never a dull moment in this book. They all have a lot to deal with personally and on the Gracey Ranch but I love how the group is sticking together as more than friends, more like family. I hope they can stop whoever is terrorizing their ranch and the surrounding ranches.

Captivating read. a loving and entertaining read that will hold your attention from start finish
Ledger has been called to the Gracey Ranch in Montanna after he had been contacted and asked if he would join the rest of the SEAL team and settling in to the work on the ranch and after a gruelling day went to the Badlands Bar on the edge of the small town of Eden.
After a while Demi was called to Gracey for a horse that had been injured and after discovering that that they had actually got a little more of a surprise on their hands and that is a possible pregnancy and now it seems that she is prepared to handle a baby as well as being the local vet in the area.
You will be captivated and have to read this story so that you can discover if he is going to be involved with the raising of the child and also how much of an actual involvement he will take.
Find out for yourself, I guarantee that you will be kept on your toes until you discover the outcome.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Books in this series flow effortlessly. Ledger Bell comes to help his friends with their ranch problems and also try to thwart the evil land developer who is trying to get the land for his own development. Killing animals and also local owners is not out of the scope of his realm. Lots of action! Ledger has a one night stand with Demi, the local Veterinarian, and things ignite with them when he finds out she is pregnant with his baby and he vows to keep the baby and her safe. He soon falls in love with Demi and they now try to sort out their feelings. There are well developed and likeable characters. Lots of suspense, action, romance and love. Demi is strong willed and gives Ledger a run for his money in the protection department. All the things you love in a suspense/love story. This book is raw, gritty and filled with emotion. A great ending that satisfies and has you looking for the next book in the series and hopefully ways to not only bring in more characters but give readers more answers. This is the 4th book in the Bad Boy Ranch series featuring Ledger and Demi's steamy action-packed, adventure,military, one-night stand, surprise pregnancy romance. Retired Navy Seal Ledger has not had an easy time adjusting back in to civilian life. He still has terrible guilt from his days in the SEALS so when some of his brothers need him to help protect the Gracey Ranch Ledger is there. Who knew a bar in Montana is where Ledger would meet the sassy spitfire who brings him to his knees Demi the town veterinarian. He sits down at her table with another drink for her and their chemistry is explosive which leads to the sexy one-night stand they share together. Neither of them had any idea that a chance meeting in a bar would change both of their lives. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this steamy action-packed, adventure full of danger,mystery and suspense to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book as well as the previous books in this wonderful series.

A quick read with a sexy former Navy Seal who is in Montana helping to protect a fallen teammate’s family ranch from danger. Ledger still has issues being around people after the trauma of losing his best friend in battle along with many of their teammates.

Demi is the local veterinarian, a strong and independent woman. She’s not expecting to see Ledger at one of the local ranches during an emergency vet visit.

The danger is left unresolved at the end of this book and will likely continue on in another book in the series. The relationship status of Ledger and Demi is happily ever after at the end of the book.

This book is very much part of a series, but I didn’t feel like I missed too much by not reading the prior 3 books in the series. There was some obvious prior storylines that impacted the secondary characters, but it wasn’t too difficult to get interested and engaged in this book’s story.

I have loved every story in the Bad Boy Ranch series but getting to read Ledger Bell's story has been the icing on the cake. The dangerous people coming for the Gracey Ranch are creating newer and more deadly problems but even though they know the name of the new player involved, they don't seem to be any closer to ending his reign of terror. Retired Navy SEAL Ledger Bell, still fighting his demons and survivor's guilt thought "why not" when he met the sexy Demi, the town Veterinarian and had what he thought was a one-night stand. Finding out Demi was in the wrong place at the wrong time when another Gracey animal is attacked brings out Ledger's protective nature and then he is given the surprise that he will be a Daddy. The characters in this series just keep getting better and better as does the storyline. Each new book brings me a new favorite couple as Ms. Petrova masterfully brings us closer to the conclusion of this series.

Fierce Protector is the fourth book in the Bad Boy Ranch series. This is yet another great story in this series about a group of ex-Navy SEALS who are trying to heal from their experiences and losses. Along the way they each meet a woman who will help them, push them, and also make their hearts open. This story is about Demi, the local vet, and Ledger, who is working on the ranch. They meet one night at the local bar and end up having a one night stand, which of course ends up with her becoming pregnant. But since Ledger had told Demi he was not from around there she never thought she would see him again. Surprise....as she finds him at the Gracey ranch when she is called there for a horse. Will they stay away from each other or will they find a way to have a future together and build a family.
This story has a bit of everything all swirled together to make for a delicious reading experience.

This is the 4th book in this wonderful series. Ledger comes to the Gracey Ranch to help his fellow SEAL brothers with what has been happening on the ranch. He's a loner and goes to the bar. Someone is sitting in his usual booth. He decides to bribe her with another drink that she's having. Demi is the local veterinarian and is trying to relax after a hard day. She does something unusual for her and asks him back to her place. They have an accident with the condom. She says that she'll get the pill for it but finds out that the pharmacy is out. Ledger didn't know who she was until she shows up at the ranch. He finds out her condition and goes into protector mode. With all the danger that's happening at the ranch, he has his hands full protecting her. Will Ledger be able to keep her safe? I really like this adventurous series. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited.

So good! Loved the book! Ledger and Demi were a great couple.

After a one night stand, ex seal Ledger finds himself an expected papa with local Vet Demi.

Ledger was over the top protective with Demi but she took it all in stride. The attraction was a great facet to the story and i enjoyed the fact that Ledger had to come to terms with the news. Both did. Demi was stubborn and really felt the pressure of being the only vet in town.

But their connection was sweet, strong and steamy. The romance for along side all the suspense and drama going on around them.

Very well done. I do enjoy Em Petrova's books and this was just as great as the others. I look forward to more.

Ledger came to the Gracey Ranch in Montana after receiving a call for assistance from members of his former SEAL team, settling in to ranch work vs. the desert or jungle work he was used to...and after grueling day went to Badlands Bar in small town of Eden, to have a beer or two, discovering the local veterinarian, Demi, occupying his favorite table...they talked, and after a while, decided to take their mutual attraction somewhere more private...and six weeks later, when Demi was called to Gracey for injured horse, discovered Ledger worked there, telling him their broken condom netted a pregnancy...but she could handle a baby on top of her being the only vet in the area...or would Ledger decide he needed to be involved with his child??? I know when I pick up a book by Em Petrova that I am going to fall into a well-written full of action romance. This fourth in the series is the story of Ledger who is a an Ex SEAL with survivors guilt. Asked to come to the ranch to help with the evil occurrences happening he never saw love coming. Demi, a dedicated veterinarian, is not sure she needs a man in her life. Engaging storyline filled with found family, undeniable chemistry, a little surprise, doubts, humor, passion, alpha protectiveness, healing, hope, murder, and so much more. Loved the push/pull and banter between Ledger and Demi. I suggest reading the stories before this one because they are interconnected and honestly wonderful reads. HEA with the mystery continuing.

WE are back at Gracey Ranch or Bad Boy Ranch as we know it with this latest installment and has things heat up more help is needed leading to Retired Navy SEAL Ledger Bell joining in to help. Ledger just wants to be left alone but he has a instant attraction to local vet Demi and they have a sizzling one night stand after she steals his seat at a local bar. The only problem is that the night in question has left Demi pregnant she wants nothing from Ledger she is more than capable of caring for a child on her own. But when danger once again hits and this time Demi is in danger Ledger will do whatever he has to to keep her and his baby safe. Will these two admit that they both want to let their walls down and that in one another they have found the love they didn't even know they were looking for.

As always this is a fast paced fun ride that keeps you engaged until the last page

The 4th book in the series and can be read as a standalone. The wave of crimes and problems on the Gracey have spread and the one behind them has changed. Ledger, came to help his seal brothers keep the ranch safe. After a trip to Badlands he has an unexpected one night with Demi. Demi, is the local veterinarian and had stopped after a long at Badlands and when Ledger came in and handed her her favorite drink as a peace offering to share the space at the back of the bar, she decided she needed a fling and why not with a guy not from town, she won't see him again. Only, she does see him again during a call to the Gracey. A great read I wonder who will be next in the series. Closer to finding the bad guys but not quite closed.

Well he came out of nowhere, and was perfect for the local vet.
Just a pity she gets dragged in to what she does, especially in her situation.
But she's got the perfect protection now.
And he's just drool worthy that man.
A complete Alpha male that doesn't run at the first sign of trouble, but sticks around and proves that she's not going to have to do things on her own.
Those two have chemistry off the chart's and a perfect little blip in their future.
Even with the poor animals (and people) getting hurt in this story, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I can't wait for that person in the background to be taken down.

I loved Fierce Protector Book 4 of Bad Boy Ranch. Ledger just came to help his Navy buddies he wasn’t looking for love but one night he can do. Demi is too busy for anything serious but she can do one night. When that turns into more than both expected, they have to decide if that’s something they can do and do together. Throw in the drama still lurking from criminals trying to get the Gracey ranch and surrounding ranches. The danger is getting worse, the criminals won’t stop coming. But Ledger and his team won’t give up and will protect their women at any cost. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

This is is Book 4 in the Bad Boy Ranch series.

Ledger Bell was called to help his fellow Seals protect the Gracey and everyone on it. He struggles with his demons being there but he couldn't turn them away in their need. Demi is stuggling to balance everything in her life. The attraction is instant and strong.

The on going struggle continues in this book to figure out who the enemy is and stop them. It brings Ledger and Demi closer out of necessity. They struggles to find what's possible together during it all.

This is a trully heart warming story as these two find eachother completely. You just feel from start to finish that Ledger and Demi belong together.

Ledger is at the ranch to help the rest of the team his chosen brothers with their dead buddies family troubles. One night in town he met and connected with Demi. Demi is the counties only veterinarian and a loner as well. So the two hit things off and Demi believing Ledger is passing through spends a night together. A few weeks later a tragic injury to a prize horse they meet again. This unexpected meeting reveals an unexpected baby for them. The dangers of the ranch and Demi being in the wrong place at the wrong time has Ledger on edge. No one will get away with harming the woman Ledger is coming to love or the baby on the way.

When Ledger receives a call for help from his military brothers he doesn't hesitate to show up - even though he would rather spend time on his own. Demi is a busy veterinarian who doesn't have time for a relationship. When their one-night stand ends up in her getting pregnant, both of their lives are changed. You can tell from the start that there is chemistry between these two. Ledger isn't the type to run away from his responsibilities and this leads to some interesting encounters between these two. Then throw in the dangerous happenings not only on the Gracey Ranch but also the neighboring ranches and this story will have you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. I loved these two characters and the community that is being built among all of the characters.
