The body of Wade Franks hangs from a gargoyle in Old Town, bathed in the harsh glow of the spring Blood moon. Terrible, bloody wounds cover his body and it’s clear he didn’t give up without a fight. But a fight against who…or what?

Detective Raven Storm is assigned to uncover the truth behind Franks’ death, chalking up another ‘unsolvable’ case for the Chicago Police. Together with her partner Rupert Levac Raven embarks on an investigation that leads deeper into terrifying darkness than ever before, into a sanctuary of evil older than Chicago itself where she will need all her wits, training and vampiric heritage to survive.

A Storm is rising beneath the bloodmoon.

And hell is coming with her.

Skye Knizley is the USA Today bestselling author of the Storm Chronicles series, an urban fantasy tale that mixes mystery, magic and horror, Midnight Roads, her homage to road movies with a dash of mystery and horror and the Shadowlands series of modern adventure/mysteries. All of her books feature strong female leads who can hold their own the men and then some, witticisms and of course Skye’s trademark snark.

Skye lives in the middle of nowhere, the small town life appeals to her and is conducive to writing. When she isn’t writing Skye can be found camping, motorcycling and hiking with her psychotic Siberian husky.

Skye is also a proud gamer girl and an avid fan of roleplaying games. She currently participates in a weekly game held at a local gaming store (stop in and say ‘hi!’) and is the writer and game-master of a private Fantasy Flight Star Wars game held once a month.

3.75 Stars. Best book of the series so far. Probably the most violent and bloody, but really exciting. This book was like watching a big action movie. I would still not put this in the lesfic category, but it seems like Raven is finally developing feelings for a female character. I have my fingers crossed for book 4. This series is so addicting I have to read the next one right away. Probably force myself to take a break after that, but it will be hard.

My least favorite of the 3 I've read so far. Plenty of blood, if there's a plan to turn the books into movies, the world will be out of red food coloring and beetroots.

Raven and Rupe face Team vampires+lycans on their latest adventure. Since Rupe refuses to be treated like mushrooms (whatever, Rupe) Ray have been sharing more informations regarding the preternatural world with him hence the flow of the story goes smoothly as there's nothing to hide. Just shoot and ask questions later.

No romantic scenes between Raven and Rupe, yippee! but Ray still have feelings for him + keeps on saying that Rupe's a genius/great detective but I have yet to to see such potentials.

Aspen appears at 7O% mark. From there onwards, she's been hinting to Ray on feeling something towards our fearless detective but Raven continuously brushes the hints aside. I'm tad dissapointed with that as in the 1st book, Raven could not jump on Francois' bones fast enough. Not that I want her to repeat performance to Aspen but at least save a chapter or two for them to have 'the talk'

Still worth checking out, this series. Why? It's great and free on KU.

The third book in the Storm Chronicles and the best yet! Each book gets better and better. There is so much going on between the human police elements and the supernatural world it’s an amazing non-stop thrill. I love everything about Raven Storm. She is a complex and well developed character that I occasionally forget only exists in the pages of the books. The rapport she has with her partner and complicated relationship with her mother exemplifies the difficulties of walking a fine line between two worlds. Skye Knizley has the remarkable ability to pull off this contrast in a real life, relatable way. The story is fast paced, suspenseful, and action packed. There is never a dull moment, even when discussing Raven’s outfit for the day or her choice of car to drive. The Storm Chronicles are one of my favorite series. I’m glad to know that there will be more Raven Storm to come!

This last volume of "The Storm Chronicles" stands above the previous two. Although the characters seem a little different from the first two books, it is the emergence of the full-blown power and rage of Raven that makes this final volume work. It will be up to the reader to decide if Skye Knizley faithfully kept to the ongoing arc of ancient vampire politics. I found it a bit confusing at times, but that could just have to do with my attention span.
Following the style of the previous volume, the pace just kicks into overdrive. However, I can't put my finger on it, but the character of Raven as presented here, seems a bit off in terms of continuity from the previous books. I found this distracting, but I also found that it did not really matter.
This book is a blistering page-turner, sometimes taking the reader's breath away. It is full of ancient mysteries and creatures and keeping up with Raven's pace is fun. I read this in one sitting; I couldn't put it down. Credit goes to Skye Knizley for emphasizing her strengths, that of fast paced, complicated, mind boggling fight/action scenes. And this Raven is at her snarky best all throughout the book. I won't give away how the trilogy resolves, but this volume makes reading the first two well worth it. Highest recommendation. Perhaps we'll see more of Raven in the future (I just love those damphirs). Highly recommended.

3.5 stars. While the plot was a little slow in the beginning, I couldn't put this down once I hit the halfway point.

In Stormwind, Raven and Levac are hunting for a killer who enjoys skinning victims alive. Concurrently, Raven plays an active role as her mother's Furstin, having to fight in her mother's name to retain leadership over the vampire community. As in prior novels, she shows off her skills and ingenuity in these areas.

Aspen has a brief but memorable appearance near the end, and I'm really hoping she'll be back permanently in book #4. I'm so glad the author backed off on a romance between Raven and Levac, not only because they are partners, but also because they truly aren't right for each other. I hope Raven finds someone more suitable in a future installment.

This book was edited very well, making for a more enjoyable reading experience than book #2. I'm looking forward to the next one!

This series MUST be read in order! This is the 3rd book in the Storm Chronicles series. This series keeps getting better and better! I absolutely loved the non stop action! Just when Raven thinks she can have a little down time, nope duty calls again! The story line keeps you on the edge of your seat in this epic ubrban fantasy thriller! Skye does a great job creating an ALTERNATE world loosly based on present day Chicago. Normal rules definitely don't apply here and I LOVE it! She makes you feel like you're with Raven every second and you are totally emmersed in her amazing, twisted, snarky and sarcastic world! I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series!!!

Chicago, Werewolves, and Action.

What's not to life? This author has created another great book. She combines a fictional bad-ass woman that is part human and vampire who protects the streets of Chicago with her pistol and skills and merges it into an action-packed thriller with a storyline. Raven has her own attitude on the way things get down. And her partners seem to stick with her, for a short period of time anyway. Betrayal, blood, guns, action, and werewolves. Who wouldn't want to read this?

This was another amazing book by this truly amazing author. I could not put it down. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through. It is a nail biting action packed story that will keep your interest from the beginning. The characters are so well written that you feel as though you know them personally. I cannot get enough of this series and cannot wait to see what happens next.

Excellent

Raven Storm is an action movie heroine in a book. The action is constant and a little over the top at times but its so fun to read. The author tries to use actual police work to progress the story which is a refreshing change. My only dislike is the bigger picture story moves really slow.

Bad moon a'rising!

I find vampire and werewolf world fascinating; there's nothing better to take you away from the day-to-day grind. This book had a lot of action and really took deep into storms world. Maybe not be a book for everyone but me I can't wait until book number four!

Beware The Wolf Moon

•••NOT for the homophobic or closedminded•••

This series must be read in order. The first book is Stormrise. The second book is Stormrage. This is the third book. I can't wait to read Shadowstorm!

Raven should be ecstatic as her mother's dead husband is well and truly dead AGAIN. Her psycho brother Xavier is also... But of course people are refusing to believe that. More drama for her ever increasing list of crap she really wishes she didn't have to deal with... Now people are turning up skinned and hanging around the city?! What next!? Seriously Raven and Rupe NEED a vacation! How will Rupe take it when Raven FINALLY tells him he is her Familiar? Will everyone survive the unrest caused by the failed coup? How will Raven balance being Fürsten as well as the only cop allowed to tackle the "strange" cases in Chicago in these strange times of unrest? What is it exactly about the Wolf Moon that has her so on edge?

Another action packed thrill ride with Raven and Rupe left me wanting MORE and NOW !!! I absolutely adore Skye's writing more and more with each book !!! The paranormal suspense is always second only to the action and adventure found along the way while trying to solve cases and mysteries or dealing with the intrigues of Court life :D It is always a mystery who will be the big bad monster tearing apart the city but it is always original and entertaining along the way! Raven's snark is a great foil for Rupe's banter and they are the best "odd couple" I've ever read! I can't wait for the next one!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who love snark and mayhem in their supernatural mystery thrillers with a side of awesomeness!!!

Holy Smoly!! I Love this series. Raven Storm is one BADA$$ character.

Raven and Rup sure have their hands full in this third installment. Chock full of action, suspense, mystery, horrific scenes, unexpected twists and OMG moments. I found myself so engrossed... I didn't hear my name being called. LOL

Miss Knizley has such a wonderful way of wording Raven's snark comments in the inner dialogue as well as the conversations. It left me laughing or giggling most of the time.

This book may not be for everyone... due to its graphic nature. If you enjoy paranormal horror, then check out this Series.

unusual

I like a strong female character. They bring a lot to the story but mostly it just reinforces the fact that it shouldn't matter what characters are in the book if the story is good. The main heroine is complicated and blood thirsty most of the story is unbelievable and takes fiction to an unrealistic level. I would like to see more of her personal stuff in the story instead of a passing glance. This is the third book and yet I still do not understand the dynamics of the vampires, humans and whoever else. There is no clear picture of her father that she bases her life on. I hope to see more in the next book.

Action packed from the start!

There were times I didn't know if I wanted to tear up, throw my Kindle or who knows what else. As the story picked up, so did the suspense. And it was killing me. Heart racing and reading as fast as I could and not miss anything. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but damn this one is a step up in the Storm Chronicles. That's all I will write out. If I write anything, it would give it away. you will just have to read for yourselves. Well worth reading!! Now on to the next installment.

Too much shoot em up and fighting for me this time around. Harder for me to believe in the *half* vampire thing with the amount of abuse Storm managed to survive fighting the bad guys (and girls). She's awfully durable for being half human!! If only I could be half as durable as she seems to be!

This series is made up of quick to read exciting books. If Harry Dresden and mercy Thompson had a baby they would have had Raven. It is like reading Anita Blake without the relationship issues and blow jobs.

Another win for storm

While things are getting a wee bit repetitive, it's still got a likeable heroine and her ragtag group of sidekicks.
