Heather Lovey’s almost thirty-five, and she wants a baby. Badly. With no prospects in sight, she turns to Sean Johnson, her BFF.
His feelings for her are enduring…
Sean has been in love with Heather since forever, but she's always kept him at arm's length. When she proposes he father her child, he jumps at the chance, hoping a baby will lead to lasting romance. He demands one favor in return: that they have a baby as a married couple. She's free to divorce him after a year.
The time they have together is fleeting…
Marriage is the last thing on Heather’s mind. She only wants the unconditional love a child can give, something she lacked during her years in foster homes. She agrees to give Sean a year in this sham-marriage, never thinking this could turn into a friends to lovers romance.
Is one year enough time for Sean to change Heather’s way of thinking and make their marriage the kind that will last? Will Sean and Heather end up with more than they planned in this captivating interracial romance?
This book is by Roxy Wilson the author of “He so Into you” and “ The Right Kind of Love” both books I have read and enjoyed.
This is Heather and Sean’s Story. I love baby/pregnancy stories and this one is an excellent read. Heather’s premise for wanting a baby due to her biological clock ticking is actually a selfish one on the face of it. There are a lot more issues to consider than simply wanting a baby to love you back unconditionally. She does change this view as her story progresses.
Sean is Heather’s best friend and he is secretly in love with her but cannot share that information for fear of losing her. When she puts the proposition to him of he being the father of her child Sean sees an opportunity to demonstrate his true feelings for her. I like Sean, he is loving, giving, funny and totally into Heather.
I really enjoyed this story, it had humour, love, forgiveness, tragedy, new beginnings. When a heartbreaking misfortune happens to them it shakes the relationship and the story gets really intense at this point and the emotional roller coaster of emotions take over. They both start to examine the foundations of their relationship.
I found the story engrossing it got my attention from the first page, it just jumped right into the story which is how I love it. I think this is my favorite read of Roxy’s stories so far and there will be another two stories coming out which I am looking forward to reading. These are stories of other pregnant women Heather meets on her journey. I would recommend this book!
This was Ms. Wilson's current release and I was not disappointed. Heather's biological clock was ticking and she desperately wanted to have a baby. She decided to ask someone that was close to her to help her out with that. Sean has always had feelings for Heather but he assumed that she just saw him as her best friend and nothing more. I was drawn in from the very beginning and you could see the chemistry and love between them. I was glad that they were both able to overcome the loss that they were faced with. I can't wait to read the other books in this series.
I simply love these two characters. Friends first then lovers then parents what a wonderful way to be in love!! Sean and Heather were friends first in fact they were best friends so they enjoyed each other‘s company they known each other for many years and was very comfortable in that situation but Heather always wanted children but she always dated some bozo and ended up breaking up with him. So when she started feeling the taking of her internal Clock she turned to her best friend Sean and basically said can I have your baby he on the other hand always loved her never told her I thought this was a great situation for them to hook up permanently but as with all love stories there is was not smooth in fact it was very bumpy but I love the way they persevered through a very trying time and got back together and eventually lived happily ever after. Roxy Wilson once again wrote a very heartwarming love story and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in her series. 5 stars.
Absolutely worth the read! This story is a nifty, quick read that keeps you cheering Heather and Sean on every step of the way! "Baby Wanted" starts out with one woman's desire to have a child at any cost. But the childhood friend she's set her sights on to help her realize her dream has his own agenda.
There's depth to this story too, as we learn of Heather's history, what drives her desire for motherhood, and the struggles she must endure to find the love she craves. We also discover what a gem of a guy she could have in Sean, if only she'd wake up! The sex scenes sizzle, the pacing is just perfect, and there's an interesting level of self discovery that is a pleasant, unexpected surprise.
Although I liked the initial premise, once I had a chance to actually read it, I discovered that it just wasn't my cuppa. I can't just turn my brain off by agreeing that a baby will make everything ont he life of a 35 year old woman!! Immature teenagers pull that crap, not fully realized Sophisticated adults!!!! I get that she had issues from being a foster child, but c'mon! Oh!! And FYI, men who like the cray-cray aren't cool either. This book could have been so much better without those elements. Other than that, it was a fairly decent book, that had it's good points.
I love 'Love Stories' that begin with the characters being friends! Who better to know your crazy quirks, how you look sick, and love you than a friend! So what happens when Heather asks Sean to be her 'baby's daddy'? That is a question I loved reading this book to answer! I love how Sean was open about a lie he told and all was forgiven between them. I loved the chemistry of the characters. I Just Loved the Book! A Must Read!
I keep feeling that something was missing. The storyline started well, but after the miscarriage, it feels that the process was rushed through leaving the reader to imagine what happened.
2.5 I had issues with the writing style. It was difficult to visualize which made things harder to follow then I would like. Premise is still cute tho. Didn’t love the poor communication from 30-somethings.. silly.
Got this during Stuff Your Kindle Day. I had low expectations going in once I saw the length. I knew it would be rushed and instalove. I was willing to give it some leeway but it was just bad. It felt like when you have a paper due by midnight and it's 11:30 so you just write anything to meet the word count. The absolute worst part is when the main couple breaks up and the male lead states he now knows how Robin Thicke felt missing his wife. Girl, whet? Is there another Robin Thicke out there that I don't know about? The couple in the book suffer a miscarriage. Tragedy like that can realistically ruin a relationship. But Robin was missing his wife because he cheated on her. PUBLICLY. AGAIN. These two situations are not even remotely close. I truly hope this author wrote under a pseudonym because otherwise they should be ashamed to even publish this mess.

I kind of feel ripped off right now. If I didn't like Sean and Heather so much this book would have got an even lower rating by miles. The outlining of the characters is perfect. One really wants to be friends with all of them while hoping Sean has a brother he can hook me up with for my HEA. But the storyplot was way too thin for the 3$ I payed. I don't want any artificial fillers but I would have wanted 2 or 3 more issues that needed to be settled while the main story goes down. The story definitely had potential to be widened a bit. Instead it cut me off after 90min of reading leaving me to hang out to dry.A real shame....
I have to say that I wasn't too sure if I was going to like this story because of the denial. We all crave love from another person. These 2 were friends first and the love was there at some point. The shift to the truth and the incredible choices, bad choices, that were made brought it back to where it belonged. On the love for one another.
I am a sucker for romance novels. Sean & Heather really do love each other. It's a great example that best friends make the best life partners. I wish the novels had more chapters and their was a part 2 to the life of Sean & Heather.
The story was sweet. I will be looking for more from this artist in the future. It h ad the perfect balance of gush, sex, heartache and happiness. I truly enjoyed this quick read.
I thought this story about long time friends deciding to become parents due to the loud ticking of the biological clock of the female, quite enjoyable. It was a surprisingly sensual, humorous, cute romantic story and I thought it a good read.
It was a good read, I liked it. The chemistry between the Hh was good, and that's what really matters to me. But, the story wasn't great, and that's what I expect from any story I read.
I found it free at iBooks and thought I should give it a try! Friends to lovers a babe on the making and a marriage cute and fast romance book perfect for summer vibes
Heather and Sean have been best friends since high school, but now as heather approaches her mid thirties, her biological clock is ticking too loud. So loud, that she does the unthinkable and asks Sean to impregnate her.
Sean agrees on one condition, she must Mary him and stay married for one year. But Sean doesn’t plan to let heather go as he’s been in love with her for years.
Their transition from friends to lovers happens quite organically and after a tragedy, they recover and get their happy ever after with babies included.
