BAILEY Despite a sometimes difficult upbringing, I’ve always had my twin sister by my side. We live together, play professional softball together, and rely on each other for everything. Everything. I always put my own needs aside for her.
While my sister’s passion is softball, mine is children. Working with them, spending time with them, and, hopefully, one day having them.
So I accept my dream job, nannying for a single father, one I can’t help but be attracted to.
Known as the queen of RaunchCom, AK Landow is a spicy RomCom author. She’s a recovering attorney living outside of the Philadelphia area with her husband, who she secretly pined for through her teen years, three crazy daughters, and multiple animals.
She enjoys reading, now writing, drinking copious amounts of vodka, and laughing. Having discovered there’s no other need in the world for funny perverts, she’s thrilled to have this new avenue to channel her age-inappropriate sense of humor.
She began her publishing journey with the City of Sisterly Love series, initially writing the first book, Knight, because it pisses her off that there are so few FMCs over the age of 40. She wrote it as an FU to the romance community to let them know that "oldies" still get it on. She fell so madly in love with both being an author and her fictitious family, that she can't seem to stop writing.
The entire series centers around a group of strong, intelligent, confident, and supportive women. The central family is known for severe cases of oversharing and walking in on each other. Hilarity often ensues.
The Belles of Broad Street series debuted in 2023 with Conflicting Ventures. Indecent Ventures and Unexpected Ventures followed shortly thereafter. The final book in the series, Enchanted Ventures, came out in early 2024. It world shares with the City of Sisterly Love series, but can be read as standalones.
2024 also became the year AK entered the sports romance world. Staying true to her goals of portraying strong women, her debut sports romance novel, Double Play, is both a baseball AND softball romance. It's the first in the Extra Innings series, which is now complete with four full-length novels and a prequel novella.
In 2025, AK is looking forward to diving into the world of women's basketball and men's football. The first book in the Fourth Quarter Fever series will be Home Town Advantage, coming on September 4, 2025.
Her writing is known for laughs, tears, and being one-handed reads.
AK did such an incredible job bringing this story, the characters and the entire universe to life with her magnificence!
She knows how to write, and she knows how to pull readers in with a vice grip, and this is what she has done here!!!! I love as captivated from the very first paragraph and couldn’t seem to get enough.
My emotions were all over the place and that’s a good thing! I love to FEEL my books I’m reading and that’s what I did with this beautifully written story!
Ohhh, AK Landow. Ok, ok, I see you. I see what you did here, because you did it again. You made me feel all the dang feels. You made me laugh, you made me lust, you made me scream, you made me uncomfortably hot, you made me fight with your other readers, you made me cry.... why, why, why must you run me through the range of emotions every time? I mean, case in point: chapter 1. Are you effing kidding me? That's how you start Bailey and Tanner's book? Excuse me?!?! Like, WHAT!!!! I need a Valium.
This book, although book #3 in the Extra Innings series, very much stood on its own for me. Sure we have all of our favorite characters, and sure there are timelines that run together - some of which we know from books 1 and 2. But this book felt different from the two previous. This one had its own tone and temperament. It's not a bad thing, it just felt like Bailey and Tanner's story was... their own and it was independent of the previous two books. For those of us who read and LIVED books 1 and 2, of course we loved all the Easter eggs and little tidbits, but this book transcended that. In fact, this book transcended so much more.
I've said this many times, and I'll say it in about every AK Landow review: Even though AK Landow is known as the Queen of Raunch-com, and she is! The woman is raunchy as hell. And she's funny too - like it hurts funny. But I feel that she doesn't always get the credit she deserves for the depths to which she goes to - the depths that she brings us to with her and the characters - it's a true rollercoaster of emotions. And she tackles such serious issues in the storylines of her books. This one's no different. The things that we go through in this book - agh! It's just so much... and it hurts so good in part. The rollercoaster that we go on is orgasmic at the top and swooping to those high highs while plummeting to the low lows... wow. Just wow. We are truly transcended to such deep emotions and such plot twists that I literally had to stop myself a time or two to figure out if I was coming our going. Tanner and Bailey's individual stories are truly complex and have us all up in our feels - then they are brought together and start crafting their own story... and ohhh my gawd. Firstly, their chemistry... hubba-hubba. Did I mention she's the nanny? Did I mention he's older? Did I mention he's a DADDY?? Yeah, let all that sink in for a hot minute.
But Bailey is more than your average younger woman / nanny. Bailey is a sweet, smart and capable young woman who's also a professional softball player who is capable of so many things. And through this story she's also learning how to stand on her own at times, considering she's a twin and as a result, her entire life has been spent with her twin sister. I think that's actually quite amazing and I feel like that's such a special bond to have, but how AK takes us on just that journey is totally riveting. ... Well, she takes us on dozens of journeys and each one is just as amazing as the next. And I must also speak specifically about one of them: as mentioned, Bailey is a professional softball player. If you don't know the difference between softball and soccer, don't worry. AK Landow is a true master of making the sport approachable. She explains the sport in the storyline in such a natural way, in such an approachable way, that you feel like you've known the sport your entire life and like you're just there watching practice and or a game. This is a true gift because I've read a lot of sports romances and not many are able to accomplish explaining the game in an understandable way.
So as always, I never give away much of the plot that you can't get from the book's synopsis. That said, I always love AK's stories because they are like no other books. They are the real deal. They are smart and witty while being funny and so sexy... accomplish just one or two of those and most people call it a day, but with every book AK keeps adding more to her repertoire. Well done and all the kudos to you AK on "Payoff Pitch" for Bailey and Tanner. And honestly, this story just left me wanting the stories of so many more of the characters that you introduced us to! So while I impatiently wait for the next few in the series, I'll continue to fight with your other readers over who Daddy Tanner belongs to... the fights over your MMCs are getting vicious, btw. You keep writing these sexy and smart men who are perfect yet are also perfectly flawed - and they're just the entire package. No wonder your beta bishes keep fighting so fiercely over them where bodily harm is threatened on the regular. I mean, the battles are cut throat and I'm a little afraid to say too much about Daddy Tanner for fear of someone coming for me... but he's quite daddy-esque. ;) And that someone who might be coming for me starts with Lakshmi.... Mm hmm. Tanner's not just a snack but a whole dang meal. And btw, I'll never look at a pineapple the same way again...
Ohh the things this book put me through. If you too want to feel all the feels, you need to read this book - and you need to read it now! 10 stars and this time there aren't chilis, no no. This time there are pineapples for the spice and this one's getting all the pineapples!
Yeaaaaaaah so let's be real, I have already mentioned time and time again with umpteen importance that Daddy Tanner AKA Tanner Montgomery is mine and mine only. I called him out on day one when you mentioned this series. So there you go he is mine, everyone stay away.
Ahem now, let's go. Payoff Pitch, Tanner Montgomery has me on a chokehold and Bailey is the epitome of young star with an old soul. I so so so am in love with her. Talk about sacrificing one's intrest over the love for her sibling. And that is Bailey. Those stories we have heard growing up, the ones where there is the good sister always putting others needs over her own, that is Bailey . I'm in awe . Especially after that dang prologue I was left gasping for breath thatvwwe not coming. I thought after reading Curveball I was wrecked , yes Quincy and Ripley shattered me and fixed me, so I was not expecting to feel all those sorts again for this one.
Tanner Montgomery our resident agent, single dad too such an amazing budding superstar and allrounder an wonderful girl Harper. The man's aim is to win at life and keep his daughter happy. What he didn't expect was Bailey and oh man oh man what a ride these two take . The calm a centerd Bailey and the poised single dad , eeekkk yess.
Two people who are matured and know what they want in their life, priorities and general sorted personalites and who Tanner and Bailey are. Add in this whirlwind romance these two have under the radar of their friends (hey guys) was such a pleasure to read. But then all goes to ...well you read that prologue.
What emotion that evoked for me was such a serene contentment and joy that yes I was done. Tanner was the ultimate and Bailey was everything. And still AK still wrecked me in a whole different way for me . Something I was not expecting even tho we know that prologue, we see it , it was shattering for me.
My top man keeps changing, yes I'm a ho for Book boyfriends. But Daddy Tanner is all mine and I have AK's approval. T don't you dare come in and take him from me. The spice in this book as Tiernay says this one just slaps. Yes yes it does. Ahem pineapples anyone. I will make that as my only item of diet if I have Daddy Tanner all to myself. Ok I'm going off rails here.
Just want to say this, if there was any man that we need in real life Tanner Montgomery is the one. Thank you and your welcome.
🥎 Age Gap 🥎 Single Dad X Nanny 🥎 Second Chance 🥎 BDSM 🥎 Sports Romance
Once again, AK Landow knocked it out of the park with this release! Payoff Pitch was everything I needed to start off the new year. I absolutely love the way AK Landow tells a story. I've been hooked on this series since book one. The character development is top-notch. I honestly feel like I've gained a friendship with each one of her characters. Bailey has the most genuine soul. Her character is one that I would cling to in real life. Daddy Tanner... I can't even express how obsessed I am with that man. He's literally what dreams are made of. Harper is the most adorable little girl who's full of quirks! Payoff Pitch was full of ups and diwns. I'm a real sucker for secret relationships. I loved watching Bailey and Tanner's relationship bloom. I can't wait to see what comes next in the Extra Innings Series!
Daddy Tanner is more than I could have ever hoped for. Can we clone him? I want one of my own.
I cried (oh boy, did I cry), I laughed, I sighed, I longed, I felt it all. Someone else mentioned that even though this is book 3 in a series, it feels like its own story. That's the truth. All the usual suspects are there, but at the same time, this story is deeply Tanner and Bailey's. Watching Tanner heal. Watching Bailey grow. Watching Harper blossom. There wasn't a single thing that I would want different.
Please please please add this to your TBR. You will not regret it!
Another great addition to the extra innings series. I love a sports romance but I really love how this series focuses on female athletes as well as male, and that they all play softball, which I haven't seen many books about before. AK clearly has a lot of knowledge on the sport and I've enjoyed learning about it as the series progresses. There was a lot of emotions in Bailey and Tanners story, and I really enjoyed seeing more of Bailey and Kams relationship and the reasons behind the way they both are. My favourite parts were with Tanners daughter Harper, and Baileys friendship with his ex wife. This series, like all AKs books, is full of strong females with a great bond.
THIS. BOOK!!!!!!! Now listen, I’m the biggest wh@re for @aklandow_author books. I pimp her books out to everyone I possibly can because there’s a reason they call her the queen of raunch-com. But THIS BOOK?!?! This one was absolutely knocked out of the park and then some. I knew Daddy Tanner was going to be panty melting hot…but I’m surprised my house didn’t catch fire…but that was probably also because of the level of DRENCHED it made me at the same time. All hail the Queen, I bow down to you lady, you freaking ROCKED this!!!! Everyone pre-order this or buy it the SECOND it releases 😍
WARNING: this book will undoubtedly cause you to lose sleep because you won't want to put it down until you read the entire thing! A.K. Landow had me in a chokehold the entire book feeling every feel there is to feel. Loved it!
Tanner and Bailey’s story…. Where do I begin and how can I put my feelings into words to give this book the justice it truly deserves …… This is the 3rd book in the series, and let me tell you I devoured this book… as the series has progressed the books have only gotten better and better. Not that the first two were bad because they definitely weren’t…… you want witty banter, found family, an amazing back story, age gap, a fierce love that can crumble any walls, this book right here, this book is all that and so much MORE… AK what you have done with Bailey and Tanners story is pure magic that’s pulls on every single heart string…
I am so happy I went in blind with this book. It was definitely nothing I was expecting. This is my first AK Landow book and certainly won’t be the last.
I was laughing so much in this book, smiling like a fool and in some parts tearing up. I definitely thought this would be another sports romance but I was gladly mistaken.
When I usually read sports romance, it’s all about the males dominating whatever sport, which I usually love. But this book was all about female forwardness and I am here for it!
Bailey just got traded from Chicago to Philly on her softball team, along with her identical twin sister, Kam. While her sister and friends in the team are going for sponsorships, Bailey wants to be a nanny like she was in Chicago.
Tanner is a divorced dad who is a sports agent in need of a nanny to his 7 year daughter, Harper. What he’s not looking for is a relationship with his much younger nanny.
When these two meet, it’s like kismet for both of them.
Harper is literally the coolest kid. Some of the stuff she even says killed me. But it was insta love for Harper and Bailey for sure!
I will say, the side characters in this book is what have me laughing so hard. Kam, Baileys sister, is a riot in this book. Girl has no filter and is not shy about her sexuality. She says whatever she wants and doesn’t care who’s around her.
The bond that Bailey and Kam have in this book is magical. They are truly each other’s other halves. Their bond runs so deep in this book.
The women in this book though, not even just the central girl gang, are just beautiful. They are all about their men but at the same time they are all about expanding the world of women’s sports.
Gahhhhh, I loved this book so much!
Tropes: 🥎Sports 🥎Age gap 🥎Single dad and nanny 🥎BD$M 🥎Second chance 🥎Sports agent 🥎Raunch-com
Bailey meets Tanner when he's looking for a nanny for his daughter. Bailey is a current player on the local women's softball team, and Tanner is also a sports agent. He's an older single dad with many responsibilities but needs help with his daughter when work impedes. Bailey takes on the job and starts to think dirty thoughts about Daddy Tanner, who has a bd$m trunk of goodies. Tanner is trying to keep his hands off Bailey because she's a great nanny for his daughter Harper.
When these two finally decide on a $ex with benefits arrangement, it's on. Daddy Tanner is a dominant and will show his control during spicy scenes. He loves to tie Bailey up. It's after an accident that he finally was admitting he was in love with her and willing to give her family.
Now, don't get my wrong, AK Landow left us hanging after the accident is mentioned early on like a cliffhanger and then rewinds the tape on their relationship. That hurt, girlie. Yes, I did speed ahead to make sure I was ok with the end and happily ever after. Can you blame me? 😉
Little Harper was wise beyond her years, and I loved seeing her hold the adults around her accountable. I truly loved the witty banter and all the jokes with her sister and with Daddy Tanner. There were so many moments of laughter. Kam had quite the dirty mind as her twin sister that was loud and proud. I'm looking forward to her book. With all the side characters that had their Happily Ever After before this book, I'm tempted to go read the other books, even though all of them were standalone and not required.

Thank you, author, for the ARC! Release Date: January 7, 2025
What to Expect: - Sports Romance - Single Dad/Nanny - Grumpy/Sunshine - Friends with Benefits - Second Chance - Age Gap - Raunch-Com
I love A.K. Landow's writing style, and her books are so easy to read. The Extra Innings series is top-tier. As a former softball player, I love that A.K. decided to create FMCs that play softball professionally. Payoff Pitch had me hooked from the start, and I couldn't put this one down. I love the characters and had so much fun returning to their world.
Tanner is a grumpy, broody former baseball player turned sports agent and is an amazing father to his adorable daughter Harper. He is set on a few things—he doesn't want to get married again and doesn't want any more children. When he hires Bailey, a professional softball player for the Anacondas, as a nanny for his daughter, his ideas about his future start to change. He knows he should stay away from Bailey, but their magnetic pull is too strong.
Tanner and Bailey are so good together. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I loved their banter. I felt all the feels while reading this. I laughed and cried, and at times, Tanner and Bailey had me giggling and kicking my feet. I fell in love with them individually and as a couple. I loved the development of their relationship. There were certainly some ups and downs, but ultimately, they chose each other.
The found family element of this story is perfect. I loved having the entire crew back together, and it was fun to get updates about their lives. Cheetah and Kam always steal the show with their shenanigans and humor, and I can't wait to read their book.
Thanks to A.K. Landow for providing me with a gifted advanced reader copy. Opinions expressed are my own.
A real page turner, I had been looking forward to reading all about Bailey and Tanner. The beginning throws a complete curve ball at you and then you find out how it got there.
Fabulous characters, new and old. I do love how you feel you’re part of the family, you know how everyone is related, who’s with who, how they met, how long they’ve been friends and you certainly learn all their preferences from the word go.
So many fun characters- Kamryn and Bailey are twins but they are chalk and cheese. And it’s so much fun reading their squabbling and about Kam’s antics.
Life’s not been easy for them both, both such great athletes who have worked hard to get where they are in their lives and are surrounded by amazing friends. Bailey is so sweet, preferring to be a nanny in the off season, she finds work watching after Harper for Tanner and his ex wife, Fallon. Watching the whole story play out, wishing and hoping but also wondering how we get to the beginning of the book and what happens next…..
I also liked the little nod to T L Swan with the Cygnets mention in the book. Perfection.
Payoff pitch was another hit for me, I'm excited to learn about Kam and Cheetah next.
First book i read of her and boy was i impressed? Absolutely. I saw some reviews where someone said that it is an independent story and i see that. Their story the way the book started i was into it. I started reading this book yesterday and I finished it this morning. This book was so much more. I loved every bits of it. Daddy Tanner and his emotions, Bailey and how loving she is and my baby Harper.
I cried, laughed, smirked, blushed and obviously screamed. This was such an interesting book, i literally wannabe read the other two books quickly want to know their story too.
Absolutely hit this one out of the park, I loved this one even more than the last 2 in the series and I didn't think that was possible. I loved Daddy Tanner and Bailey's chemistry. The banter between the characters is fantastic. I laughed so much in this book, I cried, I swooned...it's just fantastic. I love how the family dynamic is written and how it is shown how co-parenting really can be. Fallon is another wonderful addition and the glimpses of Tanner's dad had me laughing. I am so looking forward to the next book.
5 stars isn’t enough! ♾️♾️♾️♾️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ AK Landow, what did you put in this book?!? I have laughed til I cried, fanned my nethers during Daddy Tanner & Bailey’s smoking hot “alone time”, and cried like a baby during some of the more intimate conversations between Tanner & Bailey, Kam & Bailey, and the visceral reactions to the twins’ mom. In true fashion, this book is AK Landow perfection. She writes softball romance so dang well! Such positivity for females in sports, not exclusively softball, either. This book, unlike the first two in this fantastic series, seems to have more emotional depth and I’M HERE FOR IT!!
Now… I’m frothing at the mouth for Kam and Cheetah’s story!! Bring on Kam-bam and Kitten!
This one is such a good one, y’all! Add this one to your TBR immediately! ❤️
How is it actually possible, that AK can just up the ante EVERY SINGLE F&%KIN TIME?! Like, what is in that water supply that she drinks from? I have read ALL of AK's books, like if AK writes it, you bet I am going to read it, okay devour is probably appropriate. THIS BOOK SLAPPED HARD AND HEAVY. Daddy Tanner (slippery when wet caution signs remain enforce), and combine it with moments with my other book boyfriends from other books (I see you my cherry pie Beckett IYKYK) and I don't think I actually dried off or drew breath.
Okay, yes, you want a review, sorry, sidetracked, Daddy will do that.......mmmmmmm Daddy.
Bailey is Kam's twin, and her polar opposite, but Bails is no lightweight. She is strong, and one hell of a softballer. Bails is that ray of sunshine, puts the positive into everything and is so thoughtful and caring of others.....and how she is with her sister, well she has been a gold medal winner her whole life. Thru Arizona, she hears that Tanner Montgomery (did I mention he's a hot Daddy - and yes there is a delicious age gap) needs a nanny for his daughter Harper, and Bailey loves nannying, and kids. Harper is also the most intelligent, sassy softballer herself. But, when Bailey and Tanner meet well, they like ALOT, even with Tanner not wanting to go there because, well there's the age thing, but Tanner is not wanting to get married, have more kids or even a relationship. He has his own reasons, and a hurt that explains why he keeps women at arms length. But, he cannot stay away from Bailey, despite him telling her why he shouldn't.
And when Daddy brings ALL those delicious Daddy vibes to the fore.........well no woman's undies are safe......I MEAN NO ONES. (*waving to Daddy reminding him we already share a name and if he wants to go down under anytime...........) There is alot of laughs throughout, courtesy of Kim and Cheetah (the next book and am I looking forward to this, OMG YES), but having the Extra Innings crew part of this, and seeing parts covered thru the eyes of Bailey and Tanner, I just loved every.single.word. There are some parts that you require tissues, and those parts just hit hard but with all AK's books, that hurt is felt on both sides, and is never one sided. How AK manages to just hit and punctuate each word beautifully is just......I am in literal awe. Thank you so much AK for having me as part of your ARC Team, I cannot even find enough adjectives to express how much I loved this book. I want to read it again like it is the first time, because this book is everything. AFRIGGENMAZING.
It was the first book by this author that I read, and I’m wondering why it took me so long. It was incredible!!! So well-written, with such a beautifully structured story between Bailey and Tanner. The progression of their relationship was stunning, without unnecessary drama in my opinion. Not once did I feel there was any immaturity in the book. The protagonist's young daughter and ex-wife were perfect additions as well. The supporting characters were all fantastic, and now I want to read the other stories immediately!
I laughed so much at certain points, and at others, I smiled like a little kid. I read it in one sitting because I was so hooked that I couldn’t put it down. Up until now, I wasn’t really into age gap or daddy-nanny tropes, but this one was just so good!
I don’t know what else I can say about the book, but I wanted to emphasize how much the author’s writing excited me! It was the best book I could have chosen to end my year with.
Thank you so much for the ARC. You gave me a wonderful opportunity to step into this fantastic world.
This book is book three of standalone series and AK Landow continues to deliver chefs kiss with her stories. From the beginning you are rocked and invested to learn what happens between Bailey and Tanner. He’s a lawyer/agent and she’s professional softball who also happens to be his nanny for his cute softball playing kid. You cannot go wrong with any of these books in the series. Can be read in any order. So run and add this to your TBR and start reading. This author is the best for smutty romcom.
Bailey is someone that you can only hope to have in your life. She is kind, funny and and just a great person. Enter her passion for loving kids. Bailey takes a side job being Harper’s nanny. Did I mentions she is young and beautiful with a side of a professional athlete. Enter Tanner. Harpers Dad. He has sworn off women since his divorce. Tanner and Bailey fight their attraction for each other and eventually… This book has it all-spice, laughs and emotions all wrapped in a big bow!
This book starts off really sweet and it is endearing especially little Harper the cutest kid with the perfect family ever ! Fallon and Tanner who are no longer together she living elsewhere sharing Harper with her father but both make doting parents who love her . A bit unconventional but it works and they all get along . Though Fallon his ex warns him off the hired help but try as he might …Yelp! She plays good pitches their daughter though , she’s learning from the masters and gets her groove happening and is in her element when the great Bailey Hart takes on not only job as her Nanny who gets along well with her daddy and her mammy but is her coach ! Kamryn/ Kam Bailey’s sister likes women and a mister or three . Nice for some if that’s what you fancy. There’s the Olympic dream Softball team of three her sister and friends ,Arizona and Ripley , Bails makes the fourth . They will make the Olympic team as a four or none they swear! Anti-climatic ,there’s climax and omg even cinematic it’s all so frigging hi-definition descriptors , it’s awesome . So visual and emotional and HOT there’s nothing this book ain’t got. It’s a hit for all your senses and omg Daddy/ Mr Montgomery sates every one til you’re senseless . En-gorgeous,this hits all the bases . Payoff Pitch!! It’s insanely good and what a good thing it wasn’t uttered cos no Daddy wood she’d be gutted , disengaged , I think it’s about time Daddy that you engaged the nerves in your bonce and not in your head to take her to bed. “ Looks like we’re having a slumber party at Daddy Tanner’s house.” Whoop! This is both mental and sentimental. It’s raw! I wanted more ! An encore! My gosh did this deliver in bunches , and we’re not talking roses! A good job as always rosy it isn’t! Cosy neither at times ,but my god it’s real life’s image and is bloody well written . Sublime…. The sexual descriptions holy hell in a handcart ! Portrayed with the heart of a lion and if I didn’t admit to leaking a bit ,I’d be chatting shit , I’d be lying cos this is explicit in its entirety and nicely done. The storyline far above the norm, I had a good time. The storytelling! Boom! Sublime. I’m undone , it’s so compelling . I’m spent ! In my element! So frigging awesome ,perfection overload. In fact I was thinking, oh good lord , Daddy come for me ,I’ll go with you submissively . A cat , a kitten a cougar who cares as long as we go upstairs …ahem ,oops got carried away . Where were we ? Oh yeah . That gal called Bails she has guts and grit and gets on with it . Talent and heart and emotional devotion to little Harper even when the relationship with her Daddy comes a cropper.Even though all Bails wants is he , she is stalwart see. She is determined and has dignity. Who can blame her for a lapse or two and wanting to lap him although at times she wanted to slap him instead of him slapping her till her juices were flowing free a mightily canny seducer is he … As you can tell ,I really loved this love story ,all bases covered ? Well I expected nothing less . A.K. Landow I’m mighty impressed. Cannot wait for another book ,mate. Bravo! I laughed and I lust on you I can trust for all the feels . Now my house is full of Pineapple husks and peel!
“Payoff Pitch” is the third book in the “Extra Innings Series.” Bailey is a professional softball player with the Philly Anacondas. Her twin sister Kamryn (aka Kam) with their best friends Arizona and Ripley are also on the team - the four of them are inseparable! Together, they are the spirit and the backbone of the team. Kam, Arizona and Ripley all supplement their income via modeling and endorsements. Due to being forced to do modeling as a child by her mother, Bailey will not. All she wants to be is nanny and work with children.
Tanner is a successful Sports Agent to many of the stars at the local baseball team, the Philly Cougars, who are his clients and closest friends - Layton Lancaster, Cruz “Cheetah” Gonzales, Ezra Decker, Quincy Abbott and Trey DePaul. When the boys are able to, they come and support the girls. He is also a single dad to seven year old Harper, whom he co-parents with his ex-wife, Fallon. Tanner’s is in desperate need of a babysitter when his current one quits. Bailey is recommended by Arizona, Layton Lancaster’s girlfriend and fellow Anacondas player.
When they meet, the attraction between them is mutual, but he knows he cannot sleep with her ….. Sitting on the deck whilst Harper and Bailey are in the batting cage, he is - “watching the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen in my life play softball with my daughter. When she walked in, something passed between us. She felt it too. I could tell.”
Bailey has always gravitated toward older, more mature men. Upon meeting Tanner, her mouth immediately goes dry “… dark hair with a hint of gray, golden brown eyes, and a trim beard my sister would describe as sitworthy. I’m starting to understand the term. His navy-blue dress pants do little to hide his thick legs. He’s wearing a white button-down shirt with rolled sleeves and a vest that matches his pants. I’m speechless. He’s unquestionably the sexiest man I’ve ever seen in my life.”
The physical attraction between Tanner and Bailey is getting stronger. “I think I’m developing a daddy fetish. I know I am.” Bailey wants to get married and have children - everything Tanner has convinced himself that he does not want or need! Will he be able to overcome the age difference? So many obstacles to overcome …..
There is never a dull moment. Once I started reading, I could not put this book down! At times you will laugh, you will cry, get angry and frustrated - most of all, you will love the twists! This book will charm “the pants off you” and leave you going back for more. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story. This is a lovely book that will keep you hooked! It has fun, laughs, intrigue, twists that you do not expect, and physical attraction. You will fall in love with Tanner and Bailey 💞💞 From page to page, chapter to chapter, from cover to cover - you will enjoy this beautiful story! This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊
Bailey was portrayed as the quiet, understated twin that played softball mostly because her sister did as well. This book dives a little more into her journey and life choices. While Bailey loves playing with her sister, her passion really is children. Bailey loves kids and she nannies as much as possible to feed that part of her life. When an opportunity to nanny for sports agent Tanner presents itself, she jumps on it. Not only does she get to spend time with his daughter, but she’s not upset about spending time with Daddy Tanner also.
They have been tip toeing around an attraction to each other for a while, but Tanner feels Bailey is too young, he’s too jaded and he doesn’t want any commitment besides his career and daughter and Bailey wants so much more than he’s offering. Once they give in to the attraction and agree to keep things casual with no feelings involved, the spice meter between them goes off the charts!! (I personally wasn’t a big fan of her pet name for Tanner, but it didn’t put me off too much and I never want to yuck someone else’s yum - it is a very minor thing for me). The way Bailey changes “bad” words is hilarious and I love it so much, I’m going to try to do it in my own life! Lol
Too easily, they grow closer outside of the bedroom as well and feelings are getting stronger and more intense. Tanner is sticking to his guns that he only wants casual and Bailey has to make a tough decision for what’s best for her while still trying to be there for Tanner’s daughter. They can’t help but blur the lines and when Bailey finally gives Tanner her own terms of how things will be, Tanner finds he doesn’t much like that he’s getting exactly what he said he wanted.
When Tanner finally smartens up, tragedy strikes and brings everything important smack into his face, but it may be too late and Bailey may be too scared to put her heart out there again. A few more surprises in store and they do get a HEA.
What I love about this series is how the stories are all stand-alone, but they also interweave with each other and they all happen throughout the same time frame somewhat. Also, it wasn’t just a story about Tanner and Bailey, I felt it was a story of Bailey and her sister, Kam, and how their relationship changes and grows. Previous couples are still a part of things and the other supporting characters make you want to see what they have coming in future books hopefully! I need to know Cheetah and Kam’s story!!
I do not have words for this one other than DADDY FREAKIN TANNER!!!! Holy crap, if you are looking for an age gap romance with delicious spice, fantastic plot, out of this world character development and a story line that will leave you satisfied and an emotional wreck all at the same time, this story is for you!
This was the book I was most excited for in this series (which is funny because most people are excited for Kam and Cheetah's). Right when we met Tanner and the possibility of Bailey being his nanny was floated around, I knew their story was going to be fire! Throw in the hints and teases we got from Double Play and Curveball and I was really struggling to wait for this! What I really loved in this story (besides Bailey and Tanner together, which was fire- more of that in a second), was the relationship that Tanner has with Fallon. I think so many times in stories, we don't get to see a positive relationship between ex's for the sake of the kids, so it was really nice to see just how well they co-parented together for Harper's sake. There certainly are still some hurt feelings about the end of their marriage that are present at the beginning of the story that come out later on, but it was nice to see despite that, they were able to put Harper and her needs first. And, as Fallon says more than once near the end, they certainly are not like normal divorced couples.
What topped that for me was the relationship between Bailey and Tanner. Right from the beginning, there was certainly chemistry between the two (and really who could blame Bailey- from the description, Tanner is H-O-T HOT!). I think the back and forth in the beginning that led up to them trying to have a causal, adult relationship was really fun to see on the page- they both want each other but know the consequences of what could happen would hurt Harper. I really enjoyed seeing them begin to morph from casual to something more as time went on and they continued because they couldn't give each other up. Tanner's mouth is by far one of the hottest I have read on page (and one I think I will forever dream about) and the discovery of certainly tastes gave me a chuckle, especially when Bailey innocently opened that trunk! I knew from the teaser in the prologue, that their story was going to have so many twists and turns, it would make my head spin, and it certainly did. The secrets that end up coming out are devastating in the moment, but it was nice to see Fallon really step up for Bailey, despite what Bailey and Tanner were becoming. I also really enjoyed the realization that wants and desires can change, and as the reader, we get to see that out of both Bailey and Tanner in their desire to make changes in their lives to stay with each other in the end.
This was by far my favorite book in the series and despite the fact that Kam's story will be off the wall crazy, it will be hard to dethrone Daddy Tanner from the top of my list!
Plot ♾️⭐️ (infinity stars, because I can) Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️
What a book to start off my 2025 year!! Payoff Pitch is going to be a hard book to follow with ANYTHING I pick up next. AK had me going through every emotion known to human kind. I laughed, I cried, I lusted, I swooned, I got angry, my heart melted, and I fucking fell in love with Bailey & Daddy Tanner. Now I’m not gonna lie, AK put me through the wringer with Ripley & Quincy’s story so I honestly wasn’t expecting it with Bailey & Tanner, however I knew right from the prologue I was in trouble.
I’m gonna start of with Bailey cause we ALL need a friend like Bailey in our corner. This girl is nothing short of someone who puts others above her own and always seems to look on the bright side without any complaints. The sacrifices she made in order to make sure Kam reached her goals was so inspiring. All the while she’s still unapologetically herself, happy with where she is in life, and not willing to give up on what she wants. Then the connection she has with Harper, who’s the absolute cutest little girl ever, AND she even ends up having a crazy friendship with Fallon, Tanners ex and Harper’s mom. Talk about girl goals 💖
Ok now for Daddy Tanner 🫠 HOLY SHIT THIS MAN!! Tanner shot himeslf up to the top of my book boyfriend list and I don’t think anyone is gonna knock him off my pedestal. The way he interacted with his daughter is absolutely the sweetest, and his relationship with Fallon, his ex, is probably the weirdest thing ever … but it just worked so well. Absolutely brilliantly written. The growth of his charter from the start of the book to the end had me absolutely giddy! But then there’s the things this man says and does behind closed doors that just set me on fire 🥵 and had me wishing for my own Daddy Tanner. I mean the trunk, IYKYK 😉
Ok, I can’t not mention the other characters in this book because Kam and Cheetah had me in ABSOLUTE stitches throughout this book. They were definitely the comedy relief needed at parts where my heart was breaking. Fallon was an absolute gem and I can’t wait to hear her story, whether it be in this series or possibly a spin off basketball series 😉. Then there’s Ezra, I won’t say much other than I really hope he gets his own story and HEA because my heart truly hurt for him 💔
So in short if you haven’t started this series WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?
I am SPRINTING to go buy not only the rest of this series, but her other series too! This is the first book I’ve read by A.K. Landow and it’s become imperative that I read the other books she’s written for the side characters. If I’m dying to read about the side characters, I’m sure you could only imagine how in love I am with the main characters of this story. I was obsessed with this book. That’s not a taradiddle.
Bailey is your all around ray of sunshine. Although she’s starkly different from her wild twin sister Kam, she’s still got that gravitational pull that not only enamors her friends, but also the readers.
The very first chapter of this book starts off with a BANG, and then the story rewinds to 16 months prior. I very much enjoyed the edgy experience that came alongside having to wait though. I was actually SO immersed in the backstory that I forgot something huge even happened in the beginning😂 Without saying too much, this “event” really showcased just how strong Bailey is. I mean she is as resilient as they come and I love her character so much.
Now Tanner. I’m not a “daddy” kind of person to be completely honest, BUT if I were to make an exception..it’d be for Tanner. I think if a character alone can make me not think twice about something that’s usually not my cup of tea, then that’s impressive. Anyway, THIS MAN. Alluring. Sexy. Dedicated. Caring. Smart. Great dad. Passionate in every way possible..😉 I could add so many more things, but let’s just say that I love him. His relationship with his daughter is ADORABLE, and his relationship with Bailey is gratifying. It’s rocky at times, but his devotion shines through all the cracks.
Lastly, I loved the relationship with Tanner and his ex-wife Fallon. I know that’ might sound weird, but it was one of my favorite parts of the whole book. They’ve both made mistakes, but learned to maintain a healthy relationship for the sake of their daughter ❤️
Payoff Pitch is book three of the Extra Innings Series.
We get a lot of story jam packed into this one. There are a lot of things which Bailey and Tanner have to go through for them to be together. There is a lot of sexual tension between these two characters. As she is technically his employee, they both heavily try to resist each other. There is a lot of emotional turmoil that these two go through within their relationship.
I really liked Bailey and her determination throughout the book. She had great relationships with so many people in this story. It just showed what a great person she was overall. Even through all of the hardships she has to go through she still gets along with so many people. She was a rock star and I loved every moment of her story.
Tanner was okay for me. He wasn't my favourite male we have seen so far, but it could be because he had too many reservations about his relationship with Bailey. I get it with the conflict of interest and the age gap, but he wasn't my favourite. However, I did like how he was with Bailey when he finally allowed himself the chance to really live a life with her.
Let's just say that when you are done with this one you will feel sad that this great story is done, but excited at the same time to know that Kam and Cheetah are next. And you know that is going to be a ride of a story. I just know Kam is going to be rambunctious and all over the place, and Cheetah is going to have the ride of his life.
This one made me laugh. Of course it was steamy, and had the angst. But definitely had serious romcom going on. I love when the age gap is written well, sometimes it can be cringey. This one definitely wasnt cringey. It instead made anything thing that couldve been cringy into something humorous. I loved it. I love Ak Landows work anyways. She is actually the author who made me realize I could handle romcoms, and feel good romances. For a long time I thought they just werent my thing because I had read so many that just werent it. But she opened that door, and now I just look for authors who’s work is similar to hers. She really opened up a whole genre I had written off. Soooo that tells you how well of a writer this woman is, and this book is no different. Had me hooked. Another note: she is the one who got me into sport romances too with this series specifically!
This Contemporary Romance is book 3 in the Extra Innings series. This book is a romcom with baseball themes. The romance in those book is an angsty age-gap, with the nanny. The book is spicy. There is spicy language, and descriptive spicy scenes. The book moves at a steady pace following the progression of Tanner, and Baileys relationship as she becomes his daughters Nanny, while also playing baseball. Even with fighting their attraction it becomes too much, so things need to stay causal. Friendly. Maybe with some extra benefits to help desires. That is only if they can keep their hearts out of the game. This is a angsty, steamy, and hilarious addition to the series. Letting us get a deeper look into some of our favorite characters.
If you have been reading this series, you have been waiting on Tanner Montgomery's story. Tanner is the sports agent for most of the Philly Cougars baseball team. He needs a nanny for his daughter, Harper. Bailey Hart has always loved kids. She typically babysits during her off season as the second baseman for the Philly Anacondas. Bailey, her twin sister, Kamryn, and all the other girls we know and love are finally playing together again. Arizona Abbott star player mentioned that Bailey would be interested in watching kids in her free time. Tanner jumped on that. Tanner knew he was in trouble when Bailey walked in. Bailey's heart is so big. She is loved by everyone because she takes care of everyone. Bailey fit right in with Tanner, Harper and Harper's mother, Fallon.
Tanner and Bailey's attraction to each other was off the charts. You know Ms. Landow can give readers the spice. She definitely gives readers everything we want with this one. Tanner is finally ready to give in to his urges. He makes sure Bailey understands that he is not interested in getting married again or having anymore kids. A family is all Bailey has ever wanted. She wanted a husband and some kids. Her perfect man doesn't want either. Can Bailey live with not having the family she has always dreamed of?
