KAMRYN Three things about me: 1. I’m a professional softball player. 2. I have a twin sister. 3. I carry more baggage than a 747 on Christmas Eve.
Number three is the kicker. It’s colored the way I live my life for as long as I can remember, so my fairytale ending looks a lot different than what most women dream of. I don’t want marriage. I don’t want kids. I don’t want anything even resembling a real relationship.
Then I meet Cruz “Cheetah” Gonzales. He’s unlike any other man—or woman—I’ve ever been with. He’s hot and completely hilarious, taking everything I dish out and giving it right back to me. On paper, we should be a perfect match.
But his fairytale and mine look a lot different.
CHEETAH Three things about me: 1. I’m a professional baseball player. 2. I have a wickedly raunchy sense of humor. 3. I’m completely in love with Kamryn Hart.
I’ve never been with anyone who can match my energy and humor, but Kam blows me away.
She only sees the flaws in herself, but all I see is strength, beauty, and a heart bigger than the Grand Canyon. I wouldn’t change a thing about her. I accept her, baggage and all. All I want is to help her carry the load.
Kam is absolutely the perfect woman for me, but she’s also stubborn as a mule. If only she would let down her walls and realize that fairytales aren’t set in stone.
Known as the queen of RaunchCom, AK Landow is a spicy RomCom author. She’s a recovering attorney living outside of the Philadelphia area with her husband, who she secretly pined for through her teen years, three crazy daughters, and multiple animals.
She enjoys reading, now writing, drinking copious amounts of vodka, and laughing. Having discovered there’s no other need in the world for funny perverts, she’s thrilled to have this new avenue to channel her age-inappropriate sense of humor.
She began her publishing journey with the City of Sisterly Love series, initially writing the first book, Knight, because it pisses her off that there are so few FMCs over the age of 40. She wrote it as an FU to the romance community to let them know that "oldies" still get it on. She fell so madly in love with both being an author and her fictitious family, that she can't seem to stop writing.
The entire series centers around a group of strong, intelligent, confident, and supportive women. The central family is known for severe cases of oversharing and walking in on each other. Hilarity often ensues.
The Belles of Broad Street series debuted in 2023 with Conflicting Ventures. Indecent Ventures and Unexpected Ventures followed shortly thereafter. The final book in the series, Enchanted Ventures, came out in early 2024. It world shares with the City of Sisterly Love series, but can be read as standalones.
2024 also became the year AK entered the sports romance world. Staying true to her goals of portraying strong women, her debut sports romance novel, Double Play, is both a baseball AND softball romance. It's the first in the Extra Innings series, which is now complete with four full-length novels and a prequel novella.
In 2025, AK is looking forward to diving into the world of women's basketball and men's football. The first book in the Fourth Quarter Fever series will be Home Town Advantage, coming on September 4, 2025.
Her writing is known for laughs, tears, and being one-handed reads.
Where can one even begin with this book? For anyone who's been reading the Extra Innings series, y'all KNOW that you have been waiting on Kam and Cheetah's book.. because, well, we all have! And after the long wait, I just could never have prepared...
For anyone who's been on the journey thus far with this found family of professional softball and baseball players, you know that you can expect both Kim and Cheetah to be hilarious. Like, does pineapple make your XxX taste yummy? Duh, of course it does. So to say that this book was funny? Of course it was!!!! Was this one chock-full of all things smexual? Well, it's Kam. We expected that to be the case. It's not like these things are a surprise. However - stay with me, because however! Did AK go above and beyond? Well, but of course she did! Did she throw us for a loop? Did she surpass expectations? Did she make both characters even more complex than we thought possible at the surface level? Well OF COURSE SHE DID!!!!
Even thought AK Landow has been packaged, and packaged herself, as a rom-com author, raunch-com to some, I never truly put her in that box, because in each book she takes us on a - yes - hilarious and very sexually-charged journey. Is it hot and entertaining, you bet your bottom dollar that it is. But why I really - like really, really - love her and her stories is that she each time surprises the reader with a depth that somehow you just don't expect. Case in point: Cheetah and Kam. Coming into this book, if you've read the predecessors, you think you know what you're about to get into. Let me tell you, ya don't! The journey that AK takes us on with these two characters is intense, it is emotional, but above all, the personal growth is insane. The self-awareness, the flawed human ego, the growth we continue to have every day - all mixed in with trauma that we all seem to not escape our lives with. These characters don't just embody some fictional characters, they are so relatable because they are flawed and honest and raw, and therefore feel real!
For those who've read my AK Landow reviews, y'all know I'm a fan. Fiercely so. The woman essentially can't do wrong in my eyes - full disclosure. I love her writing style, her approach to stories and to life in general. I feel such a connection with her stories and characters - they resonate like many others can't - and to me, this is her success as an author. Bringing that to Cheetah and Kam, I honestly don't think many authors could have written their stories as successfully as AK has managed to do. Because to write a flawed characters is hard - but to make them relatable is damn near impossible. So even though AK takes me on a journey with every story, even though she takes me through the wringer and most often will crush my heart and make me cry, I know she'll bring it back full circle for me - but not in the cheesy "happily ever after" way. She stays true to the characters every single time and gives them THEIR happily ever after. And for Kam and Cheetah... omg it's so perfect.
As usual, 5 stars across the board - because I can't give you any more. If you haven't already started this series, go read it now. You won't want to read this book without having gotten to get to know these two in the past 3 books... it just won't feel as satisfying. That said, having gotten to know Cheetah and Kam through the past three books, the feeling of completeness and closure felt so sweet.
This book was just perfectly written with all of the emotions pulling on my heart strings. The development of the two MC’s was truly captured so well in the story. You can’t help but just feel like you truly know them with AK’s master craftsmanship Of writing. She did an impeccable job doing the perfect justice to their story. There are so many things that I want to say, but I don’t want to spoil for anyone else, but this was truly the best book to end one of my absolute favorite series that I have ever read. To be able to read the extra inning series and connect with the characters has truly been a great honor, and my heart will forever be full of happiness anytime I think of them.
I would give this book a 100 out of 10 stars and for sure will have this at the top of my recommendation list for books to be read over and over each year
Well, done AK Landow! You are amazing! Your stories are THE BEST!
Another series has come to an end. Another book closed, and I find myself speechless, heart heavy with so many emotions. Every page I turned reminded me that life truly is beautiful, and AK Landow has once again shattered my expectations with this masterpiece. Kamryn... oh, Kamryn and Cheetah. Words can barely convey what I felt as I read this book. I thought I was about to dive into a lighthearted, humorous romp full of banter, but what I got was so much more, it was an emotional rollercoaster that left me breathless and broken in the best possible way. This, without a doubt, was the perfect ending this series deserved.
If you thought this was Cheetah's book, think again. This is Kamryn’s story, from start to finish. She owns every page. It’s her time to shine, her time to show the world what she’s made of. My heart aches for her, because the strength and resilience she shows are beyond words. As a sister, a friend, and a partner, Kamryn is everything anyone could wish to be. Her love for her twin, her loyalty, her fierce protectiveness ,her kindness, gah, it all hit me on such a deep level. She's the kind of person who quietly holds the world together without asking for anything in return. A happily ever after doesn’t always have to mean marriage or children; sometimes, it’s just about finding peace and happiness within yourself, and Kamryn has found that. Her journey is one of self-acceptance and growth, and it left me in awe.
And Cheetah... my God, Cheetah. How do I even describe him? He is a whirlwind of humor, wit, and charm. The way he lights up the room, the way he balances Kamryn’s fire with his own warmth it’s magic. There are moments in this book where he’s so funny, so clever, it feels like you’re floating. But underneath that humor, there’s such a beautiful soul, a man who is there for Kamryn, no matter what life throws at them. Their dynamic, their bond, is nothing short of breathtaking. They fit together like two puzzle pieces, like yin and yang, each one completing the other in a way that makes you believe in soulmates. AK has written their relationship with such care, such depth, and it’s impossible not to get swept away by it.
Then, there are the familiar faces from the Extra Inning series, and now, as I say goodbye to them, my heart feels a little bit emptier. Can you mourn fictional characters? Because that’s exactly what I’m doing right now. I’ve laughed with them, cried with them, and now, I have to let them go. It’s a bittersweet farewell that hurts in ways I didn’t expect.
AK Landow, if you ever stop writing, I swear I’ll stop reading entirely. You’ve created worlds that consume me, characters that feel like family, and stories that make me believe in magic all over again. Please, don’t ever stop. We need these stories, your incredible talent, your beautiful words. I’ll be here, waiting for whatever comes next, with a heart full of gratitude. I love you, and I can’t wait to lose myself in your next creation.
PS:- I postponed s*x to finish reading this book. I need a trophy!
And that's how you end a series with a bang, a waterbed bang!
Off Season is the fourth and final book in Ak Landow's Extra Innings series, and every time I read a book by this author, I am once again surprised in the best of ways.
In this book we will finally get to know the story behind the wild and free spirit Kamryn Hart and the sexy “kitten” Cruz “Cheetah” Gonzalez.
This novel takes us on a turbulent journey of emotions. We will finally understand why Kam is so attached and protective of her twin sister, Bailey, and her aversion to romantic relationships and any kind of romantic commitment.
And what a story, full of pain and anxiety! Your heart will be tight, your stomach will be in knots, and tears will be in your eyes, and you will just want to be able to enter the pages of this book so you can hug her and tell her that everything will be okay.
Then we have the fantastic, sweet, protective cinnamon roll Cheetah, who just wants to love Kam just the way she is. He's so fantastic, I think he's the most perfect book boyfriend in this series. I don't think there's a flaw we can point to and say, "You messed up." He's breathtakingly perfect.
The banter between these characters is on a whole other level, I laughed so hard. The innuendo jokes are off the charts and hilarious.
And finally we have the waterbed scene told in the first person, and it makes you laugh out loud with tears in your eyes and a drop or two of pee on your panties—hilarious...
This book is addictive, in fact, this whole series is!

This is the first book I’ve read by AK Landow that I didn’t finish in a day. I just couldn’t, I had to drag it out because my heart is actually sad that this series is over. Can a book alter your brain chemistry? Because this series did. I will never be over it.
I knew going into this book that it would break my heart. Cheetah deserves the world and I didn’t know if Kam could give it to him. But she surprised me, not only was her character growth next level, she has so much more to her than the funny crazy one. But with her growth, she still stayed true to her character. I think you just have to read it to know what I mean.
Cheetah may have just become my new favorite and it’s honestly hard to believe because I’m a Layton Stan 👏 but Cheetah, my gosh he is perfect. Never once did he force anything with Kam and he constantly showed up and cared for her. He gave and gave and gave. I adore their brand of crazy 🥹
I loved getting Kam & Cheetah’s pov as their book overlapped with the first 3. Just overall, I could talk and talk and talk about this book and series. I teared up, I laughed, and I fell even more in love with a fictional world.

Thank you AK Landow for having me on your arc team and providing me with this E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Can anyone actually give this book less than a five star? If I could I would double the star. I wish I was better writing reviews but I am not. But I want to tell you this by far is the best book of this authors library. Her humor is way too good and sometimes I think she was a comedian in real life not a lawyer. Her ability to write romance is by far one of the best. Cheetah and Kam bam were my favorite characters. She obviously saved the best for last. I don't think she could have ended this series with anyone but these two wounded and damaged souls. Kam is by far the most damaged. And cheetahs devotion to not giving up on her is well amazing. We already knew their chemistry is off the charts. But her crazy let's just say made that chemistry even more magical. I think Kam proved you don't have to be your average anything. You don't have to be a Disney princess to get your own hea. She proved what a bad arse she is. I think what I enjoyed most about this last book was the healing both of them did along the way and they just kept finding a way to letting the world know they were ok with how they were. Ak did a fantastic job closing this series out. She tied this up with a stunning bow and told her readers it's ok to be different. It's ok to heal from our past and it's definitely ok to let others in along the way to help us heal. I enjoyed the healing all these women did to get to their hea. I also wanted to say she did a great job letting the reader see it was ok to not love your parent if they were abusive but you need to heal from old wounds. What I will take away from this series is it's ok to be ok. We find our future with the people we love by healing and progressing. Ak has left me with a huge hangover and a measure of no book can compare to this. She is a very underrated author who needs lots more exposure because she is who she is. A sarcastic biotch that her street loves and cherishes.

Kamryn and Cruz “Cheetah” have sizzling hot chemistry. There are so many LOL moments and fun adventures. These two are meant for each other. Unfortunately, Kam Bam is not into relationships.
Cheetah never gave up on Kam. He was always there for her. Mad props to him!
Their story is a beautiful emotional rollercoaster ride. I loved it, and the ending was great. I'm so happy we get to see how all our favorite characters are doing and setting up the next series I can't wait to read!!
Another exceptional book from the queen of raunch-com. This is so much more than a fantastic book full of witty banter and side-splitting hilarious jokes; there is so much depth to Kam that was so unexpected and it is just beautiful. I love that we get to see all her layers. Cheetah and Kam's banter is next level. I will miss this group of characters so much. This series is my favorite ❤️
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, bc AK did it again.. and in such a phenomenal way that brings the entire series through a different POV together was done so damn good. This one did get quite heavy but oh gosh the banter, the joke, the spice!!!! It was bittersweet that I have to say goodbye this group who has made their way to my heart but in so happy everyone got their HEA. Damn you AK I’m crying again!
I don't know that I have ever been so sad to see a book come to an end. Kam Bam and Cheetah are on a different level. It was an honor to be able to devour their story. Kam is so strong and carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, while always feeling like she is tainted. My heart ached for her so deeply. She is so funny and always makes the people around her either shocked or laughing uncontrollably. I think people like her in the real world are such gifts. Just like dogs, we do not deserve Kam and Cheetah. Their understanding of one another and patience towards their faults had me sobbing at some points. The banter and nonstop puns had me in stitches. I could not get enough of them. The pull I felt to these two characters are like none other that I have felt before.
The way Landow was able to write that happens towards the end blew my mind. If you have read Bailey's story, then you know what happens. However!! Hearing Kam's POV had be a blubbering mess. The connection between the sisters are literally a sibling's dream. All of the characters just fit together like perfect puzzle pieces. The interactions are always so easy to absorb and just feel as you are a part of this friend circle.
I probably highlighted half the book because I loved every bit of it and wanted to remember so many things. Kam Bam's growth was that of watching a flower bloom. It was not fast, but watching is was so beautiful. Cheetah is just a man that women may not think exist anymore.
The worst part about this book was that it ended.
꧁𝓠𝓾𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓼꧂
“You can pick our trope tonight. Make it extra dirty.” I yell out, “You should try why choose. I volunteer as tribute.”
I know he feels a sense of obligation, but at some point, you need to choose yourself. You need to create your own happiness.”
“Stop staring at my tits.” I feign shock. “I’m staring at your heart. It’s my favorite thing about you. I can’t help that it’s covered by your glorious snuggle pups.”
Maybe in a different life, if I were a different kind of woman, I would be worthy of someone like Cruz Gonzales.
An unforgettable finale! Off Season (Extra Innings #4) was everything I hoped for and more, delivering an emotional and satisfying conclusion to this incredible series. From start to finish, AK Landow crafted a story that felt so real—every emotion hit hard, and every moment pulled me in deeper.
The character growth in this book was phenomenal. I laughed, I cried, and I felt everything right alongside them. It’s rare to connect with fictional characters on such a deep level, but this series has made them feel like family. Saying goodbye is bittersweet, but this was the perfect way to close their story.
If you haven’t started this series yet, do yourself a favor and begin with Book 1, Double Play—you’ll want to experience every single moment from the very beginning.
This book is a must-read, must-reread, and must-shove-into-everyone’s-hands kind of story. AK Landow, you have outdone yourself!
I always think I can't love this series more and every time I'm proved wrong.
Kamryn is your wild child, crazy outgoing. Super smart and also emotionally damaged. The quick wit and banter between her and Cheetah will make you howl with laughter.
He is a sexy latino with an absolutely filthy filthy mouth ( I loved it ) not only speaking dirty but speaking it in Spanish too Sí, por favor señor, es demasiado bueno. (yes please sir, its too good.)
He's the golden retriever who has a huge heart but he doesn't do relationships and neither does Kamryn so they make perfect sense.
The emotional rollercoaster of this book is brilliant. I loved every page.
Infinity stars still isn't enough. I have been impatiently waiting for Kams book and she did not disappoint in the slightest! She's smart, plays softball, witty and omg can she give it as well as she takes it (that's what she said). And CHEETAH!!! he's by far the best book man I've ever read. He was the same from beginning to end. Their relationship was the best I've read in awhile. I didn't think anyone could replace Jade...but she did.
The book I've been waiting for! Cheetah and Kam's story! I've loved these two since the first book, and these two didn't disappoint! The banter had me laughing so hard at points, and the spice was hot! I loved their story and I didn't want it to end!
I really don't get how I am surprised that yet another AK book is forking delicious! Out of all the girls in this series, I love and hate Kam Bam. She is so wonderfully abrasive and I love it but that is what also makes her so frustrating. Thank God I'm not Cruz nor Bailey, so I don't have to suffer! Sorry, Tanner. Blame your creator! I ate this book up as I usually do and it was ever so delicious! And she's not down. There's going to be another series! Yeah sign me right up!!!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Off Season by A.K.Landow “Hmm. Santa’s suit is red, but the mistletoe is greener. When I think of you, I play with my wiener.” With this sort of prose I knew that AK was onto a winner with this absolute bliss read. I devoured with greed .Positively divine ! Sublime! I for one sure had a good time reading . Perfect Pitch on every page this Off Season is amazing ,it’s sage ,it’s wise ,it’s paradise …and so hot it’s got the lot! Thanks AK for writing such heat and funny ,sure worth a few bucks of anybody’s money. “Tu coño está tan jodidamente apretado. Estás ordeñando mi polla ahora mismo.” This in Spanish was so hot and funny and it’s them to a tee. Cruz ‘ Cheetah’ Gonzales is quite a mystery underneath . And Kamryn Hart has a bit between her teeth. She feels she has flaws ,he just sees her strengths. Both bring their own special qualities to the table and it’s a veritable banquet of baggage of sorts . But as well as a good time ,they’re here for the duration …But seriously ,this I bequeath…it doesn’t not end there and I’m gonna share …it’s so awe inspiring ,these characters have depth and un-peeling their layers shows a realisation that Kam has her shit together and then some. And Cheetah? Well he’s mighty handsome and a good time but he’s deep and it’s not his only redeeming feature . He’s sublime. He meets Kam with not just a wham ,bam Cheetah’s the man but an endearingly beautiful fiery souled man with that one goal that has always been . It’s in all is actions ,his word , his very being. Yes he does care , showing his soulmate he’ll always be there. Kamryn has great depths ,that we knew but omg my mind ! It blew just to witness the power she has ,her fierce loyal nature, her soul her sass even ,but she has been in nurturing mode ,always there to be the offload ,the one you offload upon but it’s time to be there for yourself too hon, as well as your twin and your friendships kin. Her sink or swim tendency and we’re not talking burst water beds here but actual heart , spirit and fear. She holds a quality so endearing ,it really is an amazing feeling and brings on tearing and an overwhelming sense of warmth deep within. This heartfelt story gives us all a shake up. We’ve been put on a spin cycle of emotions so real and raw. I’m so spent. I’m in awe …though I should know better. AK ,your worthy works are full of real shit and grit ,also heart , soul and what’s more ,exquisite. The storytelling does it’s got to be said, does keep getting better and better .This storyline impacted in the best way. Wowed!!! What a journey heh? Now I’m all a shake ,a shiver a wreck. Wonderfully penned masterpiece ,it’s no less . How we love to jeer and jest about the sex and the rest in all its glory and those holes that are holy moly discussed so much and I’m not talking plot holes or plug holes much except if it’s the butt or smut…and written about their touch but with this book ? Every last fibre of my being was touched in the most delectable way. But what now I’m in dismay…then I remember there’s another bit to read a bonus! Yay! But I’m quite sincere when I say AK Landow please know I loved this book ,the whole series so! Your writing is so amazing ,has hidden depths ,it made me wet, also yes! I wept tears of joy ,laughter and more . I applaud you girl !Encore!!!!
OFF SEASON is the 4th book and final book in The Extra Innings Series, and it can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend to read the first three books because it’s just so good but also because the storyline and characters are interconnected throughout all 4 books.
Did I binge read this series? Yes! Was I so hyped to finally read Kam and Cheetah’s story? YES! From the first book Double Play to now in Off season we got sprinkles of Cruz “Cheetah” Gonzales a professional centerfielder for the Philly Cougars and Kamryn “Kam”Hart a shortstop for the new softball team in Philly The Anacondas.
This book will make you laugh, get you hot, and make you tear up at times. The banter, push, pull, the chemistry was top notch. The spice was spicing, all the way from the diamond to the dance studio, and back. I need to take some dance lessons (IYKYK). The mouth on this Latin lover, oh yes please! And, who doesn’t love a Good Girl moment. The come backs between these two will have you on the floor laughing. It’s full of lightheartedness, a sprinkle of sassiness, and a lot of spice.
Landow was definitely saving the best for last, well in my eyes anyway. What a Grand Slam! These two will having laughing one minutes and pulling at your heart strings the next. From the prologue we are propelled into the future of the story line, and then Landow takes us back to how things all started. Cruz plays hard, and loves even harder. He’s tough on the field but deep down he has a heart of gold. He’s loving, compassionate, and so understanding. Boy did he fall so hard for her. He saw Kam in ways no one ever had( not even Bailey) and he read her so well. He didn’t try to change her but accepted my girl for who she was, even with all the baggage she carried. My heart hurt for her through out the books, but I also understood her better in this book. She loved pushing people away, intimacy was not on her list, until Cruz helped her break her walls and she started to see she was worthy of love, letting go of the past and living her life to the fullest. Her twin Bailey has been her rock, but her family life left so much to be desired. Oh, there a lot to unpack there. I loved seeing her growth and how she navigated through it all. She’s full of strength that she didn’t even realize was there. There are a few plot twist that I was not expecting. I loved seeing these two finally getting to write their own story. What a great way to finish this series!
Sadly this book wraps up this amazing series! If you haven’t started it run don’t walk and download every book you…trust me!!
Cheetah is the fun loving jokester. A loyal friend and son who wants to please everyone, even if that means doing something that isn’t right for him. He’s accepted that…that is until a spicy brunette who challenges him like no one ever has and makes him feel things he’s never felt before comes barricading into his life.
Kam lives to take care of others. Fiercely protective of her twin, she cares about softball, her sister, her friends, and enjoying life. What she doesn’t share is things she’s held onto since she was a child that have shaped her to who she is today. She doesn’t do repeats or feelings. And nothing is going to change her mind…or so she thought.
When Kam and Cheetah meet their chemistry is instant but Kam resists much to Cheetahs disappointment. Their game of cat and mouse finally ends in a literal explosive way but Kam puts distance between them because feeling something for someone is what she does until she can’t take it anymore and he needs a favor that includes a vacation.
Cheetah may have tricked her into more than she bargained for but he will do anything and everything to give her what she wants.
He gives and gives and gives even with not asking for much in return until he realizes he’s in love with her and when he gets swept up in the moment and it all falls apart.
Kam never thought she wanted a relationship but not having Cheetah in her life is unbearable. It’s now up to her to decide what she wants out of life and how to make that happen.
Cheetah is the swooniest, funniest, most caring man and Kam is so much more than she lets herself believe she is. These two fight for the life they deserve not the life they were going to settle for.
Buckle in for laughter, spice, hilarious banter, and the end to an amazing softball/baseball series unlike anything you’ve ever read!
Congratulations AK Landow!! I’m so sad this series is over but can’t wait for what’s coming next!!
Off Season is the much-anticipated 4th and final book of the Extra Innings series. AK Landow takes us on quite the ride with Kam and Chetah's book. Individually, they're amazing characters but together they were magic. Their immediate chemistry paired with Kam's drive to win made for some funny adventures and had me laughing out loud as I read along. Chetah is enamored with Kam from the start, but she's an unapologetic commitment-phobe who pushes him away at every chance. He's patient and never pushes beyond her boundaries. He allows her to do her thing but is always there for her if she needs him.
While being labeled a Rom-Com, Off Season tackled some heavy topics. Learning of Kam (and Bailey's) backstory helped the reader understand why Kam was Kam and how she came to be so protective of her twin sister Bailey. She was such a complex character. A star athlete with a big heart. She was incredibly intelligent but needed more that sports to fill her life. I loved that she continued her education, embarked on therapy to deal with the issues resulting from her childhood, and became a foul-mouthed but extremely respected coach on a girls’ softball team.
At the start of this series, AK was a new author to me and I am so thankful to have found her books. This entire series has had me laughing out loud, fanning myself as I read the extremely hot sexy times, and completely enthralled by AK's masterful story telling. She skillfully wove in education about human sexuality (an I was today year’s old situation for me as I read the book). I loved how scenes from the first three books were retold from Kam and Chetah’s points of view. I also enjoyed how well she weaves in the sports aspects in these books. As a baseball fan, it's refreshing to read a story where you could see the events happening in real life.
I really loved this group of characters and their books and am sad to see it end. But after reading the except at the end, I’m excited for what comes next. If AK is a new author to you, take a chance like I did. You won’t be disappointed!
5 Stars – Cheetah & Kamryn Were So Worth the Wait!
This was hands-down the one book in the Extra Innings series I was most looking forward to, and AK Landow delivered a walk-off homer with this one. Kamryn and Cheetah—our favorite chaotic, promiscuous duo from the Cougars and Anacondas—finally get their story told, and it was every bit as funny, filthy, and emotionally layered as I dreamed it would be. We’ve lived so many of these moments already through the earlier books, but now we finally get to see them from a different angle—like the fan favorite waterbed scene! We had to wait until book 4 to get their POV of it, and it absolutely did not disappoint. That moment alone made the wait worth it.
Kamryn is a pro softball player with a twin sister and more emotional baggage than a 747 on Christmas Eve. She’s convinced her fairytale ending doesn’t include marriage, kids, or anything close to a real relationship. Then there’s Cruz “Cheetah” Gonzales—a pro baseball player with a raunchy sense of humor, unmatched energy, and the kind of heart that makes you melt. He’s all in for Kam, flaws and all, and watching him try to carry the weight she won’t let go of is both hilarious and heartbreaking. Their story is messy, hot, and real.
That’s what sets Landow apart. What makes this world in Philly so special is that it feels lived in. These characters feel like people I’ve known forever. AK doesn’t shy away from real-life issues—she tackles them head-on with raw honesty and heart, and she does it in a way I’ve never seen before in romance. Her writing is sooo fun to be in—fast-paced, sharp, and full of moments that hit you in the chest right after making you laugh out loud.
Now to the good parts… AK, there is a reason they call you the RauchCom QUEEN!! This book is hysterically funny—I was legit laughing out loud every other page wondering, “HOW does she come up with this stuff?” But also?? It’s HOTT with a capital H. Kam and Cheetah were made for each other in the most deliciously chaotic way, and their chemistry is just explosive. I was cracking up every other page wondering how you come up with this stuff—and then suddenly I’d be fanning myself because Cheetah and Kam are that hot together. Their chemistry is absolutely off the charts, and their bedroom (and non-bedroom) scenes are everything I imagined and more. The scene in Ms. Rylee’s class?? Chef’s kiss.
I’m so sad this series is ending. This friend group of athletes has been one of the most entertaining, emotional, and downright fun crews to hang with. I’ll miss their chaos, their loyalty, their banter, and their love. What a ride.
Kam and Cheetah’s story was the perfect, wild, steamy finale. Thank you, AK, for giving us this world. I already want to reread it all.
AK has totally hit the ball out of the park with this book. I think I officially have a fan girl crush on her!! I was blown away by Kam and Cheetah. I’ve been routing for them since book 1. I’m so glad their story has finally been told.
I love Kam! I wish I could be more like her. Smart, outgoing, beautiful, athletic, witty and doesn’t take crap from anyone. And Cheetah is my new fave book boyfriend. Great sense of humor, sexy, athletic, family man, nurturing. All great qualities in a man. These two totally had me crying, hooting and hollering, cussing. I understand Kam was fighting her own demons and had some excess baggage, but HELLO!!!! Open your damn eyes and listen to your heart. Cheetah made it all about you! Quit being so selfish and say YES!!! I so wanted to slap her silly a few times. Hell if you don’t say Yes to Cheetah, I sure as heck will!!
How can you not love Cheetah; Patience of a saint, playful, unselfish, considerate and thoughtful. He did everything to make Kam happy, even when he didn’t want to.
I loved seeing Grammy Jane, June and Dr Pearl again. I certainly hope we will be seeing them again soon and that previous characters will continue to pop in and out of the next series.
I absolutely love books that make me feel all the feels. AK certainly does that. I feel as if I’ve gotten to know these characters so well that they are like family. I cannot wait to dive into her next project. And the best part, the first book gets released on my birthday!!!! Already pre-ordered!!!!
Thank you AK for taking me on an adventure. I cannot wait for the next journey. Keep being you. Never settle for normal!!
I’m so sad to see this series come to an end but AK Landow certainly ended it with a bang … and I don’t just mean the waterbed 😂. Cheetah and Kam have to be one of the funniest couples I have EVER read, their banter and sexual innuendos are top tier, chefs kiss, untouchable. I couldn’t get enough of these two. I don’t even think I could count the amount of times I laughed out loud while reading. But along with the funny there was also a sweet underline story about figuring out what you want from a partner, how others think you should live, how you feel you should live, being unapologetically you, and understanding that what you thought you once wanted can change as you grow.
Going into Off Season you think Kam is just this fun loving girl without any cares in the world, however you come to find that there’s so much more to her. The character development and growth through the book was exceptionally well written and I’m definitely girl crushing in Kam.
Cheetah is absolutely 100% in my top book boyfriend list. Not only is he funny, charming, and never pushes Kam into anything she’s not ready for but he’s got one hell of a filthy mouth and when he starts to say things in Spanish 🥵💦🫠 DAMN!! Also did you see the model on the cover🔥H-O-T and exactly how I picture Cheetah.
Thank you so much AK Landow for the amazing opportunity to read Off Season early. My review and thoughts are my own.
This book was my favorite out of all the Extra Inning Series as I absolutely loved the banter between Kamryn and Cruz and the chemistry between the two of them was explosive. Like five alarm fire hot (whew) and I need a shower to cool down after reading some of the scenes!!! Reading through the book and seeing both of the characters grow throughout the series has been amazing but also beginning to connect the dots on why Kam is the way she is and Cheetah is the way he is. They both hid behind masks at times and let people just follow their “rep” when they were both so much more than that. I cried at times throughout the book but for different reasons and parts like when Cheetah called Kam out on her crap and how she was treating him but then having it pointed out to her that she was stringing him along like she accused Tanner of doing to her sister Bailey. I cried at the lost innocence scenes and felt my heart break for why Kam was so protective of Bailey, and I cried when she finally was able to talk about everything with her family. But as much as I cried, I also laughed so hard that I not only peed my pants but had to loop my husband in on a lot of the jokes and comments that Kam and Cheetah kicked at each other. Throwing in the retirement community was perfection and made this book the gold medal winner in my opinion. Would give a 15/10 if I could!!
AK Landow saved the best for last in her Extra Innings series. Once again she knocks it out of the park, pun intended. Off Season features Kam and Cheetah (Cruz) and is my favorite of the entire series. From reading the other books, I knew their story would be funny but it is even so much better than I expected. The banter between these two will have you lol’ing from Chapter 1. I don’t know where AK Landow comes up with some of their euphemisms but they are hilarious and so perfectly Kam and Cheetah. I love that this is a he falls first story and even more, how invested he is in making sure she feels seen. There is a scene between the two where she thinks he is just in it to get laid and tells him to convince her it’s more. This man rattles off every littlest detail without missing a beat. It’s one of the swooniest moments in the whole series. Between that and the line where he tells Kam “I exist to love you, all you have to do is let me”, I’m telling you that not only will you lol through this book, you’ll melt into a puddle at the same time. Add all of that with the absolute precision with which AK Landow interweaves this story with the previous three and one just has to bow to the genius of this author’s skill! A++ and 10 stars to AK Landow for Off Season. As sad as I am to see this series complete, I absolutely love the way Kam and Cheetah send it off.
Dang it, AK Landow! I KNEW you’d make me cry with Cheetah and Kam’s story! I’ve laughed til I’ve cried, cried til I’ve laughed, and swooned over Cheetah’s sweet, little cinnamon roll heart til I just CAN’T anymore. Ugh… that MAN! 🥹 The way he is absolutely selfless with Kam made my heart melt into a puddle. Of course, I loved the banter between Kam and Cheetah. Especially reliving the waterbed scene. I could actually picture it in my mind and I laughed til I couldn’t see my Kindle screen anymore. 🤣
I also loved how we see “vulnerable” Kam in this book. Her RAW, gut-wrenching emotions about her mother made my heart break, but made me fist pump the air at the same time. She finally let go of all of that pent up hatred and WOW, did Cheetah help her with her grief one final time.
I loved the cameos from the other girls and side characters. Who doesn’t love Grammy Jane?!? 🤣 It was such an interesting way to see their stories through Kam and Cheetah’s eyes.
I’ll miss this series so much! I’ve grown to love each and every one of these characters and their teams! I’m looking forward to what’s next! Long live Kitten & Kam-bam! ❤️
Kam and Cruz "Cheetah" are both playboy/playgirl respectively and they are explosive together. The witty comebacks, euphemisms, pickup lines, fun facts/trivia, rookie teasing, locker room antics, and everything in between will make you laugh hard enough to pee yourself Yep, never will I own a waterbed iykyk. These two weren't the settling down type until they were. Kam had to do some major work on herself due to a toxic mother issue in the past and some emotional support attachments to her twin Bailey, but boy, did she ever jump those hurdles for Cruz These two were fun and super spicy together, even with potential voyeurism.
I can't believe this is the closing book of this series. I would have never thought reading a softball series was for me, but holy heck, AK Landow knocked these all out of the park (yes, cliché), but true. This book did run concurrently with the previous timelines in the other books in series, but you don't lose too much if not having read the first 3.

Thank you, author, for the ARC! Release Date: April 3, 2025
I laughed so hard throughout this book, Cheetah & Kam were definitely made for each other. The back & forth with the jokes is what had me then add in the spice from them, you have an A plus from me! I knew Kamryn was going to make me smile the most from her sisters story, she went through some rough times as a child with her awful mother but always protected her twin sister even if it meant forcing her to follow her league. Kam is an amazing athlete, but she knows what she can’t handle & that’s relationships. Cheetah is just as freaky as she is & can dish out the same type of jokes, they really compliment each other… seriously never a dull moment. I loved seeing their growth throughout the story & getting glimpses into the other sides of things especially when it came to Baileys injury. I knew Cheetah was quick but dear lord the man never stops in the bedroom. This book was amazing, I was emotional but laughing because these characters can take a serious moment & make it dirty very quickly. I have loved this series & the fact that previous series characters are still in the background makes me even happier, definitely a must read!
Kam & Cheetah are the cherry on top of this perfect series! As sad as I am that this series is done, there is no better couple to have as the finale! I’m always sad when one of A.K.’s series ends, but I love that we get glimpses of past couples and characters. I really enjoyed how the timeline was told alongside other stories in the series and how intertwined things really were. Kam and Cheetah were fantastic as funny, side characters, but I also knew that they had so much more depth than meets the eye and I was not let down. The vulnerability and character development was brilliant and I love that Kam was always 100% herself and owned her flaws and her strength equally and let herself stay true to herself while also recognizing when she needed to work on herself or rethink her stance sometimes. Cheetah also had self-growth and learned to be his honest self and not live up to the expectations of others. They truly brought out the best in each other and were perfectly matched. It wasn’t all sappy, self love - an abundance of humour and the steamiest of spice throughout. The dance classes and performance was the perfect blend of both and I never wanted it to end! A.K. Is a master at the adage “always leave them wanting more”. Every book, every series I want more and will always be anxiously awaiting her next release!!
I am crying like the biggest baby that has ever babied. I'm not even sure how to put into words all the feelings I felt reading this book. We all knew that Kam and Cheetah's book was going to be hilarious, but I did not expect all the feelings I felt and the tears that I cried. Maybe I should have. These two went through it, no one more than Kam. That girl had more issues than the longest running magazine.
I cannot wait until this book is out in the wild and available to everyone, you're all going to love it. Make sure you have the tissues ready.
THIS happened!
MEGA thank you to AK Landow for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to release. I'll never understand how I got lucky enough to be a small part of this. I am on the edge of my seat for Vance and Sulley's story!
Finally we get Cheetah and Kam’s story. I am sad that this series has come to an end, but so grateful that this story was the last. What a book, I mean where do I start? The trauma, the banter, the romance, the love, the sports? I mean it is all here and it’s in a word…AMAZING
Kam is a woman who’s heart it big, but her trauma decision making might be bigger. She is a teammate, sister, lover and friend. I don’t think she ever expects to get her “Disney” prince HEA, but she makes her own and in that we get Kam and her story.
Cheetah has all the one liners and gives back to Kam in equal measure. Their banter and chemistry is off the charts. He supports her in all of her decisions and doesn’t judge her. I love that for both of them. There are so many emotional layers to both of these characters and they grow and heal together
I am thankful for the epilogue that really wraps up the story well and gives you the perfect bow to tie all these amazing characters together. I am sad to see the series end, but I know AK has something amazing up her sleeve for us next
