A virus is on the loose, this time in Great Britain. This virus turns infected into raging beasts, similar to a zombie, only these victims are alive. As the turmoil in London boils over, a second plot appears. Jonathan Parks is a young man who was born with a gift. He never paid much attention to it but he was never sick and when he had an injury he healed quickly. A trip to the hospital with a broken arm brings this gift to the attention of MI6. With the lethal virus intensifying throughout London, Jonathan’s gift becomes an issue of national security. With contacts in MI6, the Soviet Union’s SVR becomes interested, as they do not want this virus expanding into their country. Their top assassin, Vladimir Nesky is assigned to retrieve Jonathan. Vladimir is not concerned as The Human Factor always makes the impossible, possible. The story is complex as MI6 and the Soviet agent both want Jonathan. The infected complicate all facets of the story as they attack everything and foul any plan. This first volume of the series is interesting but seems choppy and the conclusion was quite abrupt. Three.point.five for potential.
This book is technically well written, the narration on Audible was also good. Still can't really recommend for those that read a lot of apocalyptic novels, it's just not scary enough. For those who only get into the genre occasionally, then yes, you will probably enjoy. I won't be moving forward with this series.
