This was a lovable and wholesome addition into this series!

The story starts with Yuki being sick and a worried Mano trying his best to take care of him. Once Yuki gets better, the story revolves around Mano and his work as a designer which is shortly enveloped in creating a flyer for the local cats at the animal shelter. Throughout, there are many cute Mano and Yuki moments but not as many as in volume one.

I don’t own a cat, but I would love to and the information scattered throughout this volume was welcomed. I found these little tidbits were well placed, such that they weren’t overwhelming or complex and instead helped enhance the story. I learned quite a bit and I’m interested in learning more in future volumes.

Personally I find the story interesting. I enjoy how it depicts the life of a cat owner ranging from stressful times to fun moments including those of bonding. I also liked how we got to know and understand Mano as a character. His lifestyle before having a cat, his job and a bit of his mindset were all interesting. This volume does a good job in weaving these details into the story slowly as needed to build Mano’s character.

The highlight of this story for me was near the ending. This volume ends with a cliffhanger as Yuki disappears and Mano looks desperately for him. It really highlights the affection both Yuki and Mao have for each other. I felt really sad and I’m hoping their reunion happens soon!

Similar to volume one, this volume focuses on key aspects in the artwork leaving quite a bit of white space. It honestly provides a more relaxing, yet focused story which is an interesting technique. I think the white space also helps bring out the speech bubbles and dialogues making them more impactful. The character designs are as always gorgeous and I love how the characters change clothes as the days change. Trust me when I say, most manga do not have characters changing their clothes daily.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading this volume and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next. The story is primarily told from Mano’s viewpoint alongside those who help him take care of Yuki. However, with Yuki’s disappearance I’m sure we’ll see more of his perspective in the next volume. It’ll be interesting to see how a once stray cat feels about going outside and if he can overcome his fear of cat food.

Very cute—and educational for those considering having cat as a pet. Everything is going well with Yuki and his human. The cat is gaining weight and Taiyo has learned to take care of himself as well as Yuki. But Yuki still refuses to eat cat food. And then the worst happens: Yuki disappears. The volume ends before he’s found, so there’s definitely a reason to read on.

Omg you can't finish on a cliffhanger like that... The subject matter is very much lice of life and taking care of a cat, the art is more what you would see in YA, which is appropriate for middle school age kids. Very cute age 10+ manga.

Yuki is so damn cute! Sneezing in Taiyo's face was hilarious! And what are you doing it's only the second volume, you can't have Yuki getting lost. I'm already way too invested in this series!

I'm not sure I like this volume as much as the prior one, mostly because it feels like a part two in every respect: it leads in from Yuki having an unknown illness, where the vet diagnoses him as having a cold, then ends with Yuki having accidentally gotten outside and lost, but not having resolved that.

OTHERWISE, it's continuing this cute, wholesome story about an inept graphic designer (Taiyo) who's apparently new to both his career AND to basic life skills, to where his friend compliments Yuki for turning Taiyo's life around. It also has a sweet segment where Taiyo gets a project offer to make a flyer for the animal welfare center, to encourage prospective adoptive pet parents to give forever homes to animals in need. I always love "paying it forward" and similar charitable stories! (Hence why I want to share this series with others... like my brother, whose cat is a picky eater, haha.)

Recommended for cat lovers, though perhaps start with the first book.

I think this has more continuous plot than Gamer + Cat, it doesn't feel as much contained per chapter. I like this volume. This does seem like a greatest hits cat concerns. I am surprised that such a smart person didn't think about how they don't have a screen.

My Smokey-San was a picky eater too. I truly understand the struggle.
