Unbreakable

Rate this book
Cassidy Cooper lives an ordinary life in north east England, bringing up her son and working in the office of a local college. But when her American granddad dies, and her Kentucky-born mum insists they travel over to the US, to Glenville, the small town she was born and brought up in, to attend his funeral, Cassidy suddenly has to face up to a past she’s deliberately tried to push aside. Because the last time she’d visited that town things had happened; things Cassidy hadn’t dealt with very well. She hadn’t really dealt with them at all. Was she going to have to deal with them now? Ethan Everett is the Sheriff of Glenville. Hot, handsome and slightly maverick in his ways, his life is carrying on the way it always has done, until Cassidy Cooper walks back into town. They have history. They have a past. And that past is something they now all have to face. As secrets buried within this small town threaten to tear lives apart, and change them forever, can love really be unbreakable? *Please be aware that Unbreakable contains sex scenes, some strong language, and adult themes.*

About the author

Michelle Betham

Michelle Betham is an ex-media technician turned author of super-sexy romance, usually involving rock stars, DJs, movie stars, hot businessmen, and bikers. But not usually all in the same book. Yet. A proud indie author, she also has six books published through One More Chapter, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, one of which is a pyschological thriller/romantic suspense written under the pen name of ML Roberts.

Addicted to binge-watching TV shows she struggles to think of a life before Netflix or Amazon Prime, loves music - especially rock and EDM; tattoos – of which she has many; spicy food, superheroes (she's a slightly obsessed Avengers fan-girl who harbours a particularly unhealthy obsession with Captain America), and Keanu Reeves – a crush that’s lasted well over twenty years, and one she blames entirely on ‘Point Break’. The original. She refuses to acknowledge any remake exists.

Her dream is to ride a Harley, visit Las Vegas, and be able to eat any amount of chocolate without putting on weight.

She lives in County Durham, north-east England, with her husband and their West Highland Terrier, Opie - named after her favourite biker in Sons of Anarchy! She can be found, most days, at her desk drinking tea and making up stories.

I swear to fuck this is fanfic of Justified.

DNF 69%

Once I couldn’t get Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder outta my head this shit was just unreadable.

Ethan Everett - Raylan Givens
Beau Bennett - Boyd Crowder
Cassidy Cooper - Ava Crowder
Rayner Marshall - Winona Hawkins
Jolene Kennedy - Ellen May
Ava Cooper - Helen Givens, Mags Bennett
Clayton Cooper - Deputy Marshall Mullen
Mason Cooper - Loretta McCready

NEED I SAY MORE????

OH, and it’s all set in a Kentucky holla….

🤔🧐

Ethan is a sherif that doesn’t wear a uniform and wears a Stetson. Manho-deluxe, dirtiest dick in KY. Shit young man turns into faithful dude to his Queen.

Beau is a “reformed” criminal ex-con who runs a nefarious church. Charismatic, bad-crazy bastard. Mama shoulda drowned him when she birthed him (JK!!!! …. Ok, maybe not).

Cassidy is the woman caught between them. She’s really the two-timing cheating whore in this book. Don’t let the manho H fool you, he’s who you’ll like when this shitshow is over. She’s just a shitty person who can’t face any of her choices or read the mother-fucking room.

Rayner is the spurned, cheated on ex-wife of Ethan. Bitchy with a heart of gold. Slightly shady, but does the right thing in the end. Loved the H no matter how many OW he fucked. She got her own OM on the side because of it. But she’s a second in the Most-Fucked-Over pageant.

Jolene is the town bike. That’s it. That’s all she is. But here, she owned a diner.

Ava is the matriarch carrying all the hollas secrets. And an absolutely shit mom. This bitch shoulda also been done in by somebody before now, too. Guess when you got piles of money it does keep you warm and safe ;)

Clayton is the weary ex-head honcho sheriff and mentor to the protagonist. He dead. He an asshole. This whole shit storm was cuz of his era-believable misogynistic behavior/views.

So I finished this shit cuz I couldn’t leave it alone. I’m only more pissed. This is a total rip off of Justified.

The plot is a mash up of all the seasons of that show with some tweaks and a transplanted Englishwoman with a seekrit love child to throw down some cover on the character stealing.

As this was published 4 years after the tv show debuted I’ll never believe differently.

The h is a weak willed, idiot whore (#sorrynotsorry) and that manho of an H comes off as a fucking Saint.

We won’t talk about their son, Mason. If he doesn’t turn out to be an equal opportunity serial killer from all the head fucks and general fuckery this kid was dealt, I’d be surprised. He’s #1 in the Most-Fucked-Over pageant.

This book just makes me feel icky for all the near plagiarism throughout. I’m not 1 starring this (cuz I’m not a total bitch), I just recently read a ton of her works and it’s hard not to view them all in a different light.

2.5 stars…probably 3…leaving a 2 tho…I guess I am that big of a bitch.

This book was hard to start. At times, the book seemed a bit wordy. Cassidy and Ethan's story is good but a bit predictable. I recommend this book for those who want to read a mature romance.

Unbreakable is another hot read from Michelle Betham. Cassidy Cooper returns to a place that holds many memories and not all of them are good! Great characters are brought to life with authentic dialogue (I could hear those accents!)and of course a very sexy sheriff. Would recommend for fans of Justified!

I couldn't put this book down. The author did an excellent job with the writing, I was completely drawn into this book. The characters were so real. I'm not saying there were times when I wanted to scream at my ipad because Cassidy drove me insane. But it all turned out for the best. Would love to read more from these characters
