This had great bickering between the hero and heroine. The heroine had been abandoned by her people when she was just 9 years old for being unsual while the hero's talent allowed him to be embraced by his clan. A nice source of tension.

The romance is good even if the sexy times are behind close doors.

We also get lovely little treats-lectures on alien cultures and the wonderful healing pets and their adorable fluff ball babies.

Very good Science Fiction Romance reading.

This has everything with psychic ability, with the hero pursuing the heroine. Great world building and plot.

Iara was sold by her parents to the emperor as a bodyguard because her clan like violence and fighting a lot and didn't like her ability to calm everything around her. She was greatly favored by the emperor that when the emperor knows his death was near he created a protocol that would ensure her freedom because the next heir to the throne was cruel and took a liking at her. Now she had earned her freedom and was working as professor and learning thing in the Citadel when he met the hero Lock who is the same specie as her but with a different upbringing than her own. Lock's clan was different from hers and she was a little and he also makes her lose her calm so when they were paired on a mission she wasn't looking forward on it.

I like their bickering and the whole plot. Plus their very lovely alien pet. I also like how it all ended.

A short story about a couple of the same species. She adopted the offspring of a healing bird. She becomes the headmistress of the citadel. Her mate is a guard of the sector guard. She is pregnant at the end and I'm looking forward to know if it will affect her power of calm. There is cameos of couple of guards with the power of fire and of growth.
