The whole town is drunk on eggnog… There are snowflake decorations and twinkling lights hanging from every tree branch… Shops stink like gingerbread, and everyone seems…. Disgustingly festive. It must be Christmas. And to that, I say… bah-humbug.
I’m immune to this whole Christmas cheer thing that’s going around. People expect me to put up a tree and listen to carolers parading around the neighborhood? No, thank you!
Just when I thought I’d successfully avoided another holiday season, Holly Douglas and her daughter Noelle come tumbling into my life. What’s worse than two cheery, festive females? The fact that they’re taking over my entire apartment and filling it with that dreadful Christmas cheer.
Before I can even say “ho, ho, NO,” there’s cookies in my oven, a tree by the window, and mistletoe hanging from the doorway.
As a blizzard bares down on Evergreen Lake, something even more surprising is happening right under my own roof. Their infectious holiday spirit is starting to get under this Grinch’s skin. Without warning, I’m celebrating the holidays and agreeing to things I never thought I’d do.
Now all I have to do is figure out is how to keep Holly and Noelle once the storm passes…
And that might take more than a little mistletoe magic.
Mistletoe Magic is a sizzling holiday romance with a small-town feel! 1-Click Mistletoe Magic today to spread some Christmas cheer!
Rebecca lives in Australia's capital surrounded by bushland and kangaroos.
When she's not writing about small town romance or sexy athletes she's watching football with her husband, snuggling up with their dog or indulging in some very yummy chocolates.
A quick and easy read by Rebecca Barber. On her way to have Christmas with her father, Hope finds herself in the middle of a Blizzard, with her daughter, Noelle, when she ends up in a ditch. She finds herself being rescued by the local town Christmas Grinch and the towns only Mechanic. Due to the blizzard, the accommodation throughout the town was all booked and Chris found himself inviting Hope and Noelle to stay with him as all roads were unpassable. This sets the scene of both Hope and Chris confronting their pasts and trying to let go, so they can be in the present and perhaps even enjoy a future together. An overall feel good romance where the MMC falls first, even though he had his heart shattered, he was willing to give Hope a chance, whilst the MFC ponders the past and whether she can allow herself to love again after the loss of Noelle's father. A beautiful Christmas story filled with love and hope and happiness as Chris tries to give Noelle the best Christmas possible. A Cheerful 5 star read!!
Christmas Magic brings a grumpy Mechanic back to life
Holly, and her 6 year old daughter Noelle, is on her way to a resort to spend Christmas with her dad and his 3rd wife. Holly is driving in bad weather when she has an accident that disables her car. When a mechanic and tow is called, Chris arrives. Chris is a grumpy scrooge type who hates Christmas, for good reasons. When Holly and Noelle are stranded and there is no availability in the local inn, Chris suggests they stay with him.
This is a cute Christmas story with an adorable and very normal 6 YO. Holly’s devotion to her daughter and Chris’s walls being torn down by just being near 6 YO Noelle is a sweet read. Chris and Holly have some misconceptions about each other at first but slowly they start to really see through each other’s emotional walls. The heart of this story is seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child. What I loved about this book is that it wrote Noelle as a true 6 YO she has tantrums and ideas and she is just normal in the best way. Chris and Holly have some real issues and Noelle helps them both see that they can have a future of happiness with each other.
This book is the second one I’ve read in the Evergreen Lake multi author series and it was so cute!!
It’s about Holly a single mom to Noelle! When their holiday plans take a sharp detour they find themselves in Evergreen Lake but Chris who is very much not a fan of Christmas offers them a place to stay and make the holiday magical for Noelle. I loved how the story enfolded and how both the MCs confront their trauma and work towards letting it go.
Living now and in the moment as to not miss what they have now! It’s just a perfect feel good holiday read! I love when the guy falls and falls hard and he lets the walls of his fractured heart come down it was so beautiful. And Holly letting someone in after a great loss!
The icing on the gingerbread house is how Chris tries to give Noelle the best Christmas he can possibly do! I really liked this sweet holiday treat!
🎄Christmas romance ❄️ Snowed in 😠/😄 Grumpy/sunshine 🧍♀️ Single mother
- Christmas romance - Snowed in - Grumpy/sunshine - Single mother
This is part of the Evergreen Lake multi author series and I have been loving the selections!
In Mistletoe Magic, single mother Holly and her daughter Noelle are on their way to spend Christmas at a luxurious ski resort with Holly's billionaire, but distant, father and stepmother. Unfortunately, they get caught in a blizzard and skid off the road. Lucky for them, they aren't too far from the small town of Evergreen Lake and the town's mechanic is able to tow in their car.
Chris is not a fan of Christmas, ever since he caught his girlfriend with Santa on Christmas Eve a few years ago. All he wants is to hunker down and enjoy some down time, but next thing he knows, he's offering a place to stay to Holly and Noelle. And trying to make Christmas magical for the young girl.
This is such a cute tale of finding your person where you least expect to.
This one clicked a lot of boxes for me. Small town, single mom, tragic pasts. Rebecca brings all of this out in the pages and so much more. I loved Holly and Noelle. These two are fighters and quite the mother daughter pair. They are headed to see family for Christmas. But they end up going in the ditch before they can get there and damaging the car. Once they get into town a nasty snowstorm hits and they can't get to the inn to stay. Chris the tow truck driver the one person in town that absolutely dislikes Christmas takes them in. Chris soon learns that Noelle can get him to feel and do absolutely anything for her. But at the same time Holly also changes something in him. But will it be enough for him to overcome his past? I loved this one. There were some very special tender loving moments. Another great addition to the Evergreen Lake series.
Mistletoe Magic is what hallmark movies are made of. This is single mum Holly and small town grinch Chris’s magical story. It’s a quick read but it still had all the magic you expect from the holiday season. Holly and her daughter Noelle are driving to meet her father and his wife for Christmas but when a blizzard hits they find themselves stranded in Evergreen Lake, a town obsessed with everything Christmas. When their car ends up in a ditch it’s local mechanic Chris who comes to their rescue and when they find themselves with nowhere to stay he offers them a place to sleep and stay warm. But as the town grinch he finds himself in a battle of wits over the holiday season with his new guests Holly and Noelle. What’s follows is a truely magical holiday romance that will appeal to all lovers of the holiday season.
This was a wonderful Christmas themed story about remembering the spirit and joy of the holiday season. The characters were fabulous. Chris, Holly, and little Noelle all blended seamlessly when they were unexpectedly forced to share a the few days together because of a blizzard. Chris had lost his spirit of Christmas (and I couldn't really blame him). Providing Noelle with a memorable holiday becomes the primary goal of the adults, as well as struggling to keep a lid on their budding feelings for eachother. I greatly enjoyed watching Chris re-experience the wonder of the season through the eyes of a child, and the Teasing banter between he and Holly was incredible.
You don't want to miss this latest addition to the multi-author Evergreen Lake series. I received a gift copy of this book and highly recommend it to others. This review was completely voluntary. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
A wonderful Christmas holiday lovestory about the town's local grinch Chris Douglas, and the stranded strangers Holly Star and her 6 year old daughter Noelle.
Mistletoe Magic definitely was at play when the stranded Holly and Noelle find themselves in Evergreen Lake. Noelle is such a delightful young girl filled with plenty of sass.
Finding themselves unable to get up to the resort to spend Christmas with her dad and his new wife Holly finds herself snowed in and when the local mechanic Chris offers to put them both up until the snow storm allows them access up the mountain they find themselves developing a closeness that neither of them expect. A warm heartfelt journey of healing and moving on from their past trauma and Heartbreak.
Holly and Noelle are so adorable and their love of Christmas and the cheer they spread around is like Hot Coco in a cup. When on their way to see family they get stuck in a ditch and to their surprise, a Grinch shows up to help them. Chris the adorable mechanic in town hates Christmas and for good reason, but when he meets Holly and her daughter he knows he's going to help them out. Now these two are trying to show Chris that Christmas is the best. Chris will also make sure that Noelle has the best Christmas despite being snowed in. But when things from his past come to light will he be able to move on? I just loved this story and how both Holly and Chris overcome their feelings and their past. When the snow melts will they defrost his Grinch heart?
Holly and her daughter Noelle are heading to meet her wealthy father for Christmas with his wife. On their way a blizzard begins and they get stranded in Evergreen Lake, a town obsessed with Christmas. Their car is taken to Chris’s garage, the town mechanic. Since the roads aren’t safe to drive on and the hotels in town are booked, the girls end up staying with Chris. Between his grinch attitude and their love of the holidays, this becomes quite a combination. He keeps them safe and warm in his home and even lets Noelle pick out a Christmas tree and decorations since he didn’t have any up. Chris and Holly have been through some trauma but they form a bond that becomes something more than either thought would develop. What a perfect little holiday love story!
Hope’s plans for her and her daughter Noelle to spend the holidays with her father are derailed by the weather. She now finds herself staying in Evergreen Lake, but fate intervenes when not only does Chris comes to her aid, but he offers them a place to stay as well.
Chris doesn’t have happy memories of the holiday season so all he wants is for it be over. Inviting Hope and Noelle into his home they are determined to still enjoy the holiday as they show him how wonderful the season and a life with them could be.
Both Hope and Chris have tumultuous pasts which creates a few challenges, but I enjoyed seeing them open their hearts to each other and have the second chance at love that they both deserve.
4 Star Review Mistletoe Magic( Evergreen Lake: Under The Mistletoe #8) by Rebecca Barber
Rebecca Barber is a relatively new author to me and how I have not read more from this author I have no idea.
I love stories set in small towns, add in our heroine Holly is a single mum and it’s set around the most wonderful time of the year and it’s a win/win for me.
When a blizzard lands Holly and her daughter Noelle in evergreen Lake she has no idea how her life is about to change.
Meeting Chris, he comes to their rescue but Chris doesn’t like the holidays which puts him at odds with Holly and Noelle.
What follows is a story that was heartwarming and one that left me with a smile on my face.
Mistletoe Magic is part of the Evergreen Lake multi author series, written by author Rebecca Barber. Tropes; - Holiday romance - Snowed in/close proximity - Grinch mechanic - Single mom/cute little girl This is a perfect feel good Christmas story to get you in the holiday spirit, whether you celebrate Christmas or not. Chris & Holly plus Noelle, a delightful read that captures the magic of the season. This sweet story takes place in the small town of Evergreen Lake. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
OH WOW best Christmas story ever. It was action packed of drama and chaos. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. Holly and Chris romance was in the air as the sparks ignited between them and it was steamy and spicy of a love affair in this moment. Could they be falling in love with each other on this special occasion. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
Rebecca Barber has smashed this feel good. HEA Christmas Season read, right outta the park !
I fell in love with Chris and Holly from the start but Noelle was a little bundle of sassiness.
This story brought warmth, homely feels after Holly & Noelle become stranded following a winter storm and rescued by the towns sexy mechanic.
Bring in the mistletoe, hot chocolate, movies, snow storms, Santa sleigh and Christmas Festival and you have all the happy feels as we await the Christmas Season.
Mistletoe Magic is book eight of the multi author series Evergreen Lake: Under the Mistletoe.
This was a very cute story. It really puts you in the Christmas mood. This was a great feel good Christmas story and I loved it.
I liked seeing Holly and Noelle able to bring Chris out of his grinchy behaviour. Holly and Chris both really grew into different people and fully embraced who they always were and wanted to be.
This was such a cute Christmas story! Holly and Noelle were on their way to have Christmas with Holly's father when they got stuck in the snow. Nick owns the local repair shop and he pulls them out. A blizzard is making travel impossible and they are forced to stay with Nick. He is not a fan of Christmas and all the trappings. His heart starts to melt with Holly and Noelle. It was a really cute read!
Chris does not like Christmas at all. He wants no part of it. Enter Holly and Noelle. They stay with him after a car accident due to a blizzard. Chris is being drawn out of his Grinch side, when a christmas tree, cookies, and decorations are being put up in his home. After the blizzard ends, will he be able to get Holly and Noelle to stay?
Rebecca Barber Mistletoe Magic Chris, Holly and little Noelle A grinchy mechanic rescues a single mom and her daughter when she calls for a tow during a blizzard, but there's no room at the Inn. So what's Chris to do but put them up himself? He doesn't celebrate Christmas, but they do Does Chris's heart grow a few sizes?
Feel good holiday romance that definitely ticks all the right boxes. There is plenty of chemistry in this small town, single-mom- with an adorable kid- read. Then of course there is the mixture of characters that you cant help but fall in love with. Evergreen Lakes series is a perfect addition to add to your reading list.
Lovely Christmas romance. It is the story of Holly and Nick and of course little Noelle. I loved reading how Nick changes from grinchy grump to happy Christmas lover. It was a nice sweet quick read. Little spice and lots of love.
The title says it all. A sweet heartwarming Christmas time story with all the feels -- in other words an interesting story with intriguing characters that I enjoyed being part of their live adventure and discoveries.
I really enjoyed this book this was a book about turn a screw into fun-loving Christmas all around the town. I love that the magic of Christmas was true in every sense in this story about holidays love and finding the one.
Beautiful Christmas story about the Grinch Chris and Holly who accidentally got stuck in Evergreen Lake. These two will have a Christmas neither expected that will change their lives forever.
I love this series! Chris and Holly follow the tradition of grumpy guy falls for the hot lady with a daughter. This one is a sweet read full of love. Great read!!
One bad holiday has turned Chris into a grinch. When single mom, Holly and her daughter Noelle end up needing his help, will they remind Chris about the Christmas spirit? A fantastic read that will put you in the holiday spirit.
This was a lovely read - set at Christmas, a (kinda) grinch’y mechanic and a delightful mum and daughter… what’s not to like?!
Holly and her daughter Noelle are heading to a resort for Christmas with Holly’s dad and his latest wife when things go awry and they end up need the help of the small town mechanic… except it end up being for more than car trouble.
I loved how Holly and her wee girl slowly but surely melted Chris’s heart and made him reassess his thoughts and what he wanted in his future.
I really liked Chris and understood why he wasn’t feeling the festive spirit but I liked that he didn’t fight too hard and started doing little things to make Noelle and her mum smile.
A little lack of communication had me worried things weren’t gonna work like I hoped but hey, it’s a Christmas story, so of course some magic was bound to happen!!
A great story and a definite recommended read, especially if you love a Christmas/holiday tale.
