Book 5 - Editing has gone downhill, characters are now so-so, and nothing gets resolved.
As is often the case with Kindle unlimited book series, this series as reached a point where the main character just does a bunch of stuff and nothing really gets resolved throughout the book. No true goals are reached, no enemy completely defeated (other than within a challenge), and character interactions have lost the fun that the first two books had brought to life. This book is worth reading once, but I will not read it twice. Word of advice to the author - wake up your editor or get a new one. Your sentences have grammar errors that a simple word editor should catch. Also, if your character's name is Polina then don't spell it Pauline later in this book and confuse your readers.
An Ideal World for a sociopath is the fifth book in this series, and I'm absolutely astounded at the amount of trouble the main character gets himself into (and out of) in these books. Even when the books deal primarily with worlds other than his own, he still manages to stir up all kinds of trouble. Usually, it's the kind of trouble that comes down on others, (usually his enemies), but the depth and breadth of the story just keeps growing. I'm already anxious to read the next book in this series. Great stuff here folks.
Oh wow guys This 1's been out for a while Obviously because book 6 is also out. Which means that I didn't read my arc copy. Due to personal reasons. So I read it on kindle unlimited. I've got to say that the editing was not very good. Lots of mistakes, extra words, and missing words. The story itself keeps this from being a complete disaster though. I like this MC a ton more than the one from ghost in the system. Totally different types of MC's. Lots of fighting. Plenty of murder, and an abundance of looting. That last one I personally like.
Varg is really starting to figure things out. He loves to throw himself into tests and he has met quite a few strong people. The things that he runs away from? Well, sometimes the system throws them back at him.
This was slower than previous ones? More grinding, repeatedly going out on tasks and tests. On the other hand, we see Varg interact more with 'his people'. It's also interesting to ponder the extent of, if any, effect the system has on an individual's character and disposition.
