1 and 2 Kings for Everyone

by John E. Goldingay

This seventh volume in the popular Old Testament for Everyone series tells the story of Israel when it was a monarchy, from the accession of Solomon to the exile.

Following on the heels of the successful New Testament for Everyone commentaries by N. T. Wright, John Goldingay, an internationally respected Old Testament scholar, authors this ambitious Old Testament for Everyone series. Covering Scripture from Genesis to Malachi, Goldingay addresses the texts in such a way that even the most challenging passages are explained simply. Another solid contribution in this series. Easy to read commentary alongside Goldingays translation. A nice mix of the key historical and literary aspects of the text, combined with reflections on the text's connection to the Christian life.
