What an amazing book. The plot, the characters were amaing. I loved every single thing about this book. That cliffhanger makes me want the second book like now. Check your triggers

Wow, just, wow!
This book was not what I expected AT ALL .. I even messaged BL Swern at the beginning because I had it in my head it was a fantasy book .. I can fully assure you, there is nothing Fantasy about this book! Well aside from the fantasy of having Seth call me his 'Little Spawn' 🤣
Before reading this book I emplore you to check the trigger warnings. There are serious dark themes in the book that may be upsetting for some readers. That being said if you love masked men, secret society, unhinged MMC, powerful independent FMC, enemies to lovers, possessive, dominant vibes this is the book for you!
Seth - oh.. Seth, he is utterly unhinged, completely obsessed with the Regan, and he'll rip the world apart for her, noone will stand in his way! SHE IS HIS - NO QUESTION!
Regan - She's my girl, from her determined nature, no BS attitude, no man will tell her what to do or how to live! And of course her obsession with DrP - if you know me well enough, you know I have an issue with my DrP consumption 😜
There's an excellent balance of plot and spice (packed btw).. yes there's alot of it but being such a fast paced book your not consumed by excessive spice.
The only negative thing I have to say about this book is the disgusting cliffhanger she's left me with .. not happy BL Swern - not happy at all 🤣

Swern brings all the fire in this dark romance and it is here that my love of morally grey MMCs is completely realised in Seth— big, bad and tattooed with the power to take out anyone who threatens his girl! Regan is a total badass… but also the good girl with the fiery persona and backchat who left home and everything it represented behind her long ago. When she finds herself in a compromised— seriously messed up situation, right back to the place she once fled is where she needs to return… and Seth, well he let her go once, but he won’t give her the opportunity to do so ever again! The push and pull between these two is hot, hotty, hotness and I was eating it up!

HOLY CLIFFHANGER! This book was absolutely amazing! I loved it Soo much! A morally gray MMC and a feisty FMC! Seth is tall, covered in tattoos, hott, and isn’t afraid to burn the world down for his woman! Reagan is feisty and doesn’t take any crap from anyone. She tried to act big and bad toward Seth but he knows just how to make her his good girl🥵 This book has everything! Morally grey, dark, touch her and die, good girl, plot twists, amazing AMAZING plot, and the smut, my god the smut! Seth can strap me up anytime😩 I can not wait for the second book! This was Soo good and had me hooked from the first page! I 10/10 recommend! This book is due to release August 9, 2024 and I want all my good girls to go add this to their TBR and read it 😈

Do you love a secret society consisting of ruthless delicious tattooed men…
What about a morally grey MMC who takes what he wants, when he wants, how he wants?
How about a FMC who is trying to escape an abusive situation, and that situation just happens to involve the Empire of the Wolves?
If you answered yes to any of the above then BUCKLE UP.!!
This novel is only 205 pages but it had me HOOKED from start to finish.. it is fast paced with progression of the story and development between the characters. Think enemies to lovers, but he never actually hated her… the chemistry between to two main characters is absolutely delicious.!
And he gets on his knees for her (in multiple ways)… HEART MELTED..!!
The wait for the second book is going to be an absolute struggle!

I literally just finished reading. And I’m still trying to process. It’s been a while since I’ve felt ALL the emotions from the characters I read about. But this one nailed it. I am so happy-sad-mad right now. It’s crazy. And I need book 2…. Like now please. K thanks. 😅

Our story begins with Regan running for her life, back to her home town in hopes to escape her torturer and be back under the protection of The Wolves; a secret society she was born into but never wanted to be a part of. She makes it to town, only to find her new boss is her childhood enemy and love, Seth Kingsley. When she begins to receive threatening messages, Seth decides he knows what is best for her and takes control. He doesn’t know what or whom is after her, but he will find out and stub out the threat if it is the last thing he does.
Holy wow, was this book great! Regan is feisty, knows what she wants and what she will allow even though she is damaged and vulnerably. Seth has been in love with Regan since the were kids but knew he couldn’t have her because of his future with the wolves, so he protects her the only way he knows how, by acting like he hates her. When she comes back into town, he has no choice but to claim her and finally take what he wants because he is the ONLY one who can protect her properly.
All of the aspects of this book come together so well and definitely makes it a bing worthy read. However, how could you leave us on a cliffy like that B.L.? I almost crashed and burned on that one!! I am desperate to find out what happens to Regan!

I just have to say, B.L. Swern really got me with this book🫶🏼💖. I stayed up all night reading it because I couldn't put it down, haha. As a fan of "bad boys," I was totally captivated by SETH Kingsley the MMC && his dominant personality along with REAGEN(MFC)was also amazing - she's strong and resilient despite the trauma she's been through. I want to keep it short so I don't spoil anything😏🫶🏼, but this book left me craving for more! I can't wait for the next one to see what happens next. If you're a fan of dark romance and love tall, muscular, tattooed bad boys who will do anything to protect their women, you have to read this book,DEFINITELY Add it to your TBR list you won't regret it! Come along for the ride, little spawns😈 lol

Was not prepared for that cliffhanger ending!! Come on B.L. Swern! I need the next book! But I am in love with Seth and how morally grey he is. His soft spot for Regan perfectly showcases his possessive love for her and I'm here for it. Was a quick and fast dark romance! Check the TW if needed - there are some darker topics. Satan’s Spawn follows Regan as she escapes from a dangerous man. She seeks safety back home where the Wolves rein the area and with Regan’s father being a head of the wolf, this is the safest place for her. In walks Seth, the man she has been in love with her whole life but completely shattered her years earlier. Now they’re running into each other and she just can’t seem to get away from his savory grasp.
I really enjoyed the fast pace speed of this novel and it is so hard to put down once you get into it. I just wanted to sit and binge the entire thing. The trials to get into the Wolves was a really fun aspect and I enjoyed learning the different politics within the books through these povs. I can’t wait for the next one!

This dark fantasy captured me from the beginning. As you began to read the story, you were lead to believie that things are going to go in this direction and all of a sudden it takes a left turn to go in another direction, but then veers back to the right again.
My favorite character is Seth because he portrays this rough, tough mean guy, and then, on the other hand, he's a very caring person who struggles when his own is hurt. He is a man who will do anything for you. However, wrong him or his family in any way you're toast.
After what the Snakes have just done, I can't wait to see the repercussions.
The entire story held me from beginning to end. I love to read. I couldn't put it down.
I thoroughly recommend this.

Please note the trigger warnings before proceeding, if all is good then I very much recommend this book!! It keeps you in suspense the whole way through, once you start the book you can’t stop!! And the 🌶️ well, that was something else😍. I cannot wait until book 2, the cliffhanger at the end of this book, well if I’m being honest I wanted to throw the kindle across the room knowing I have to wait now 🥲.

FMC- Regan is exactly what I would look for in a FMC. She is a fighter! Regan hasn’t had things easy which we see from the start of the book! As I said please check the triggers!
I found it really easy to connect to both Characters and the sub characters! There’s so much potential for spin off series!
This is B L Swerns first book and I think as first books go she’s done an amazing job!

How could you do this to me??
I am sitting on the edge of my seat dying to read the next book. Satan's Spawn is B. L. Swern's debut novel and I see nothing but great things coming from this author! I am already addicted to the Empire of Wolves series and can't wait to see what happens next. This is an incredibly quick read that gets you addicted rather quickly. I will gladly be Seth's "Little Spawn" and be dragged down to the depths of hell.

Unfortunately I was unable to finish reading this book. I got stuck at the beginning with the MMC's use of the word 'spawn' to refer to the FMC and referring to himself as Satan. Not that I have any problem with taboo romance books, it just felt weird.
There were a few other things throughout that didn't make sense to me, even with an enemies to loves trope. And the pacing of the book just wasnt for me.
This B.L. Swern's debut book and I'm sure she'll have plenty of success, since I know plenty or readers who loved it!!!

✨ ARC Review - Contains Spoilers ✨
My Rating: ⭐⭐
I dislike giving bad reviews but after noticing all the five-star ratings, I felt like someone needed to be honest. I, by no means, am writing this to hate on this book. I merely want to give constructive criticism as I feel it is extremely valuable to help authors succeed.
The prologue begins with Regan, our FMC who is a student at the University of Alabama, who is running from her kidnapper. The storyline started out promising other than reading “adrenaline pumping through my body” repeatedly.
You then begin chapter one from Seth’s POV, our MMC, who is the son of the highest ranked elder of the wolf pack. This is where I started a drinking game whenever the word “pack” was written. “Whether you want to be part of the pack, you have no say in your future. Becoming a part of the wolf pack has always been my father’s demand of me. He always told me that ‘you either become part of the pack or you’re nothing.’ There are bright sides to being part of the pack.” Let’s just say, I was hammered by the end of the chapter. 🥴 Keep in mind, it reads like this the entire book with words and phrases being repeated throughout. Another example would be, “I pulled the truck into the parking lot, putting it in park. We get out of the truck…” and “The elevator gets to the bottom and opens up to the bodyguards positioned at the bottom.” I felt like more creative words could have been used. If you took out all the repetitiveness, the book would probably only be 100 pages.
While the prologue and last chapter were decent, the entire middle felt rushed and lacked major details. I was so confused on what the author was trying to focus on the most, the smut or the gang/mafia theme. Either way, it could have been a great story if it was more thought-out and detailed. The only reason I didn’t DNF was because I was told there was a major cliffhanger. Needless to say, I predicted the outcome early on.
Here are some quotes I highlighted that literally made me LOL:
“I’m not like other girls.”
“I swear he had thing for eating coochie.”
“Walking out of my room, I head into the kitchen, opening up the fridge and grabbing myself a Dr. Pepper. I crack it open and take a deep swig, feeling the bubbles down my throat. This, this is my drug. I could live off this bubbly goodness for the rest of my life! No one can tell me otherwise!”
"Sliding his tip into my hole, I feel a sting."
"...tight, delicious twat..."

(MMC) Seth Kingsley : what a fine piece of mystery he is , I love and eat up a story where the big bad MMC has always loved the FMC and will snap someone in half for just thinking of her. I adore to see how vulnerable he becomes with Regan is just the cutest. He takes being apart of the wolves very seriously and stands on business when it comes to Regan. I still think the ring scene takes the cake for me. Something about it being so intimate and he has to make sure it was screaming HER and wouldn’t settle made me soft as butter.
(FMC) Regan Dale: I can relate so much to Regan right down to the abusive relationship with that horrible man. She is truly a bad ass who doesn’t change who she is, she still will rip your head off she wanted to. It was truly amazing to see the walls come down and how much she let Seth (she absolutely has no choice in the matter lol) in her head and really let him see her vulnerable.
Story line: I absolutely devoured this book within a day, it was written so well and really had to you hooked on who the hell that mystery man and why is he chasing her and trying to figure out who the rat is had me bringing out the white board. I am freaking sucker for enemies to lovers, more on the FMC because I truly do not believe Seth ever hated her but was pretending to save her. I’m so beyond ready and excited for the next book. Please give this a read.

One of those stories you start and can’t put down, yes, I was she who read it into the early hours 🫣🥱
Regans’ life starts off good, she has a loving family. However, being an independent lady she decides she wants to go to college away from the familiarity of home ground, she has her own reasons as well. Naturally, college life takes off and she soon meets a guy, everything is going good until it isn’t and she finds herself in a, shall we say life threatening situation. Her only course of action is to escape back to familiar ground. Do they welcome her back with open arms? How much has changed? Will she ever be safe?
Seth has moved up the ranks of the empire, having passed their tests some barely but still. He branches away from what his father wants him to do and he invests in a nightclub, not just a club though, it has a basement and let’s just say no-one wants an invite there! His first love, enters his club asking the bartender for a job. Thus, he now has Regan where he can protect her, but you know what they say about pride? He develops somewhat of a relationship with her, though tongue in cheek on that one at this stage. Will she fall for him again? Can she forgive his past behaviour toward her? Can he protect her?
This story just pulled you in, the angst of the MMCs, the secrets and lies, the little twists that are hinted at but never quite knowing, the ending is a cliffy but for me predictable not a bad thing as there was an additional twist 🤔 Can’t wait for the next one now 😬

But now, he’s not letting her go and will hurt anyone who tries to stand in the way! Regan endured so much and deserves her HEA with her Satan..
