What would you do for a chance to follow your dreams?

Broke and kicked out of his apartment, struggling musician Jake isn't sure what to do. When he answers an advert placed by ruthless billionaire Alexander, he's offered a contract: become Alex's live-in pet for ten days, and he'll be paid enough to get his music career off the ground.

It's a little weird, but it's better than washing dishes or flipping burgers. The problem is that the longer it goes on and the more he learns about the billionaire with the dark blue eyes, the less sure Jake is that he wants the contract to end...

This 25k word short novella contains sizzling scenes of consensual BDSM, a HEA ending, and the gratuitous use of an Iggy Pop song.

Very short and it needs editing. I’m not really in to puppy play at all. I try to avoid it. It’s just not my kink, but I actually enjoyed that part of the story. I thought the ending was strange and unrealistic. Actually the entire book was unrealistic but kind of fun.

I loved the puppy play part of it. I just think it woulda been so much better if it was longer. I didn't really like the ending tho its a definite HEA, and the change we saw in Alex after Jake fought for him, woulda been nice to see more of during the story. I hate when we see a different side of a character at the very fckin end of a book. It's like why change at all anymore, if we're not gonna see how that change plays out o affects the characters. But not bad, I really liked Jake.

Y'all..

This short story packed in so many things that made me love it. Jake had a freaking BDSM gonna be a puppy awakening, Alex learns how to get out of a wedding, and Sam gets to hook up with an actress.

There were editing errors, where the wrong word would be used but I was able to still like it alot.

I was robbed! But that's okay...kind of

Okay look, I'll make this quick before I fly into my rent. This was cute, yes I said cute. In fact, it was downright adorable and there were genuinely some laugh-out-loud funny moments. Sam and her clarinet had me cackling. The bathtub scene between Jake and Alex was really heartwarming. Even Sandra had her moments. I really like this little snippet of a book (seriously, even by novella standards this was short). It was funny, it was quirky, and it was a kinky quick bite, who could complain? I can, because when you write a book about a guy who agrees to be a rich dude's live-in pet expectations are had and when they are not met *screams in rage at the sun*

Look, I'm a good person, I pay my taxes...usually. Is it really too much to ask to have sex in my romances? I mean that's why we're all here right? Just look at what I read. Go ahead fellow humans on Goodreads, I'll wait. What do all those books have in common? Hot smut that's what. And hear me out. I understand that there are different definitions of smut. Not everything needs to be penetrative to qualify as sex. I'm a girl into girls, obviously I know that. That's not my issue if you can even call it that (much like how the term novella is being used very loosely here). I'm being really dramatic but did no one else feel like this was supposed to be a smutty romance? Am I alone in that assumption based off of every single thing this author has ever written and deemed is worth 2.99? I think not.

Look at the premise. Jake is a pup who has a sub awakening. Alex is (a slightly sadistic but I'm into that so it's chill) dom who has to pay someone because his desires are far too much. Hoe, we got a blowjob scene and some spanking. how... And again, different definitions of sex, I'm being dramatic, but if I'm supposed to believe they fell for each other over a shared mutual thing and we never see that THING...am I really asking for too much? Sex is a big part of being in a relationship and it is said to be a big part of theirs. Shouldn't we see that? Shouldn't we see something? Because without it, it's a wonder why Jake is fighting so hard for this dude.

I liked this, a lot. And it's nice to know that Lydia Subastion can write more than 16 pages worth of content. But the romance in it of itself...we never got a how or a why. Bearly a what even. And yet I'm still giving it 4.5 stars because for some reason I still really liked it. Go figure.

Anyways if I could scream one more thing into the void because I like to pretend authors read these. Um, I've seen what you write Lydia Sebastian, I KNOW what you're capable of. I won't forget this! The woman gives you dragons and plants in space but God forbid the two consenting humans go at it!

Oh i loved this..was way too short but was an amazing read...Ok...I didn't like Alex to start with but i warmed to him by the end and loved him so much..I loved Jake he certainly didn't seem to mind how he was treated...His hatred of heights was treated well especially when Alex got drunk....I loved the ending it was brilliantly done...This has gone in my favourites folder on my kindle....x

Do Dogs Laugh?

I did, reading this. And I ❤ Sam, who is the best kind of best friend, the kind that warns you that answering that weird ad is going to lead you to waking up short a few organs.
Not end up playing a puppy for a hot guy. That wouldn't happen, right?
Kids, don't try this at home.

Cute

Like the general plot but the chemistry between the two men never got all that hot. I’m left a little disappointed but only because I felt it could have been better. The ending was cute.

Okay quick read. There were quite a few spelling and grammar problems. The bones of the story was really good. It just needed to be fleshed out more. There wasn't enough to really connect to the characters and feel like you got to know them.

Not bad. I would have liked some more action, but it was good. You can see the start of a relationship happening.

Started okay

This book started off okay but then ie was like someone removed the breaks from a car on a steep hill and it just free falls.

Kinky, funny, and surprisingly well-written. I'd like to read more of her work like this, not just the little snippets of well-written PWP!

The writing was good, despite a few little grammar errors, and the puppy play was really enjoyable! Sadly, the ending felt a weird to me and by the end I was left wishing it’d been longer because the puppy play was so enjoyable and I would’ve loved to see it last longer than it did! I’m sad I have to give this one 3 stars because if it’d just been a bit longer, it definitely would’ve been much closer to a 4!
