A great read for advanced learners, with plenty of unexpected depth to the story and a thoughtful narrator. A bit challenging if you're primarily familiar with South Walian, as it's got a lot of North Walian terms. Very enjoyable.
First Welsh book I have read in decades! As my native language I feel I should start reading books in the language as I speak it only really to the folks now (and the odd Welsh club who invite me to speak with them!) Its a good little story and not too long so I found it a great introduction back to reading the language. Written Welsh is VERY different to spoken Welsh - think of English dialects - and a classic English Masterpiece and how they differ something like that! Sometimes I found myself reading along knowing about 2/3 of the words and Google Translate being NOT much help! Sometimes I think - 'no that's not the right word to use' and that sums up my grasp of the language! There's a huge difference in Wales in how things are said - for example North Wales Welsh has a whole set of different words for numbers!! How crazy is that? Without going into too much of a tirade about 'what is Welsh?' - I enjoyed the story - nice and easy relationship story from the viewpoint of a guy (who is a tattooist!) it made me cry it made me laugh! I shall persevere with more like this and even got some Welsh books (although they look harder!) for Christmas! Da iawn!
Mae'r llyfr hwn rhan o'r gyfres "Stori Sydyn". Mae'n ychydig yn fwy nag eraill ac mae'r stori yn dipyn mwy boddhaol. Fodd bynnag, dwi'n cytuno efo eraill fod y diwedd yn rhagweladwy ac eithaf gawslyd. Ond serch hynny, mae'n dal i fod yn llyfr da iawn
