The Trailer Park Staple

Judah and Tav have always been from two separate worlds, but they made it work in the past. They’re older now, but outside forces fight against them being together. This was sadly a total letdown for me. I was super excited for this but after my initial giddiness after starting (yes, the beginning has been a blast) it went downhill fast.

First, I wanted the drama and hurt between the MCs to last longer but was solved before we even hit the one third mark. How disappointing. I can only imagine that from there on they’re keeping on fighting the evil mom for their happiness that was stolen from them by her two decades ago and I’m already bored with the notion of that.

And while I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum I just couldn’t with one of them referring to the other one’s pecs as tits. Quite often feminization works for me (these authors’ “His Princess” comes to mind - loved that one!!) but these guys were both big and ripped (okay, not the point) and neither of them seemed to have a feminine side to them.

And I don’t know if it was the narrator or the writing (or both) but these two men didn’t at all feel like nearly 40yrs old. College age would’ve been more believable.

Anyway. I’m done here.

The blurb was what intrigued me. Chapter 1 was alright but it just went downhill after that. This was a big letdown. And I don’t even want to get into it.
One major reason I gave up on this was the third chapter.

If I’m reading a second chance romance, one thing I absolutely expect and look forward to is pining, heavy pining, tension, chemistry, sizzling heat between the MCs even when they’re hating each other. The room boiling over when they’re in each other’s proximity. And some grovelling depending on what led to their separation in the past.

These two have been separated for almost 2 decades. Where is the pining, where is the tension, where is the chemistry? And they’re already kissing in the third chapter, at least put some effort into convincing me that there’s something there.

Twenty years ago Tavish broke up with the love of his life Judah.
Judah never understood, never got a reason, it wrecked him. He picked up his life and lived.
After twenty years they meet again.
They couldn’t be more different, Judah is silly rich, and owns a company. Tavish instead is broke, lives in a trailer in a shady park, and has one job after another.

Judah offers Tavish a job, he wants answers and has to keep him near.
They never stopped loving each other, but oh boy, they have a lot to overcome.

Tavish is one soft guy, taking care of people in need, he has nothing to share but his love and attention.
Was Judah lovable? On the surface not so, he looks like a rich prick, but when you got to know him…
Dang, he’s so determined to keep Tavish.

The reason why Tavish left was early revealed, it’s more about what happens after, and that’s a lot of amazing stories to tell!

What I loved so much was the realness, the not sugarcoating, the rawness of reality.
It was an incredible read, a winner! It made me emotional!

I really liked Tav when he appeared in Fool's Gold and was excited to read his story with his childhood sweetheart Judah.

This story has much less action/suspense/mystery than the previous book and I liked the slower pace - I really wanted to keep reading J&T's story to see how it evolves. How would these two adult men use the second chance at love that they had been given.

I liked that the secret of why Tav broke up with Judah was revealed early on, that he did not hide or run away or sacrifice himself and his new chance at happiness for some higher good. He knew he loved Judah then and still loved him now.

The book was, in that sense, much more about Judah's journey in accepting the decisions he needs to make, and the implications of those decisions, once Tav's secret is revealed. It also about accepting Tav's history, his friends and his circumstances of the last 18 years without swooping in to save him or make his life better. It was an interesting character journey and while Judah came across as quite arrogant and spoilt, Tav's interpretations of his actions showed the dept of Judah's love for him as well. Plus Tav seems to really like the possessive part of Judah.

The added story of Elliot and H becoming part of Tav and Judah's chosen family was also wonderful and I loved seeing both characters really feeling safe enough to express themselves authentically.

It was a very easy book to read, with low angst and drama and I loved seeing characters from Fool's Gold and The King's of Men MC club series , is my favourite character from the club and it was great to see him again!

Fool's Errand is my first book by Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory and what a way to start!
Judah and Tavish's story grabbed me from the beginning and I didn't want to put it down. Their journey to a HEA is satisfying, especially since Tavish isn't the typical secretive MC, but someone who genuinely grows and fights for love....and the spice is off the charts.

Twenty years ago, Tavish broke up with the love of his life, Judah, leaving him heartbroken and without explanation. Judah, now a wealthy company owner, and Tavish, struggling and living in a trailer park, reunite after two decades. Despite their differences, the love between them never faded.

A chance meeting thrusts Judah and Tavish back into each others lives. Judah offers Tavish a job, hoping to get answers and keep him close. They have much to overcome, but their journey is filled with real, raw emotions. Tavish is caring and selfless, while Judah, though initially appearing as a rich snob, reveals a deep determination to keep Tavish in his life.

The reason for Tavish's departure is revealed early on, shifting the focus to their path forward and the challenges they face. The story is grounded in reality, not sugarcoating the difficulties they encounter. It's an emotional and compelling read, with characters that come alive and evoke strong feelings.

The narrative is simple yet powerful: Tavish made an impossible choice that led to losing Judah. When fate brings them back together, they must overcome old enemies and rebuild trust. Despite limited action or suspense, the story is engaging, driven by their deep connection and sweet, sometimes steamy, moments.

Second Chance MM Romance

- No cheating
- HEA
- Contemporary setting
- Light themes, with CW at the beginning for those who want specifics

Overall, Fool's Errand is a heartwarming, realistic romance that captivates from start to finish.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a humorous and heartwarming read from beginning to end. A second chance romance with low angst and tons of spice with well-developed main and side characters.

Tav and Jude were the best! Tav was a cinnamon roll through and through, while Jude was a stubborn steam engine blowing smoke and plowing through all situations head-on. Their love for each other jumped off the pages and covered the reader in such warmth. What drove them apart as teenagers did not keep them apart when they reconnected by chance. Their story was really about them reconnecting and growing in the present.

Ellis and Hilton were funny and authentic. And Shep and the motorcycle crew that were introduced were amusing, too.

Memorable Quotes:

“I found Tav again, and I’m *bleeping* keeping him."

++++++++++++++++

“You’re awful,” Ellis said, and Hilton gasped, cupping his cheek. “Judah would never date such a crybaby.” Ellis narrowed his eyes, and Hilton’s face flushed pinker than a raspberry. If Ellis had actually sworn, Hilton probably would’ve taken it less personally.

++++++++++++++++

My Puffin wasn’t going anywhere. Or else.

++++++++++++++++

"Don't do anything stupid, Puffin. If you run this time, I will chase you."

++++++++++++++++

“Not Judah,” I said with a grin. “Sounds corny, but that man’s my forever.”

++++++++++++++++

“Jude?” I yelled over the pounding rain. “How did you—”

“I put a tracking device on your phone,” he snapped angrily. “Open the damned door and move over, Puffin. You’re not leaving me again.”

++++++++++++++++

“Shh,” I whispered urgently between the kisses I laid across his cheeks and jaw. “We can’t let the kids know what we’re doing.”

Judah laughed loudly, and a thump came from Ellis’s room.

“We know exactly what you’re doing!” Ellis yelled with a cackle.

“And we’re not kids,” Hilton added with a giggle because I didn’t think he knew how to do anything else.

++++++++++++++++

“I am yours always.”

“Forever and more.”

Tavish met the love of his life, Judah when he was thirteen. At sixteen, they became boyfriends, and at eighteen circumstances and manipulations made him make a hard choice that would change his life.

Judah is devastated when his soulmate, Tav breaks his heart and leaves him with no explanation as to why.

Twenty years later, an accident involving a truck and a car brings Judah and Tav back together. Both are very much still in love with each other, they strive to get the second chance they deserve. Judah has made a success of himself and is well off, whereas Tav, lives in a trailer park, caring for a minor who has had a rubbish time with his parents.

There are many obstacles for them to overcome, and for Judah to discover the real reason that Tav left him all those years ago.

The first chapter of this book had me hooked and i was intrigued. I devoured this in a little over a day. Ki Brightly and MD Gregory have written a fantastic, gripping page turner, that has you cheering for love a second time around. I adored the character development and the feelings between the two main characters radiates off the page.
Did i mention the spice? Cor blimey, it was smokin hot.
Ellis is also a lovely side character, who i hope gets his own story, along with Hilton who is hilarious.

“His desperation for me was the biggest turn-on, and I didn't think another man would ever live up to him. I never wanted to find out because now that I had Judah back in my life, I wasn't going to let him go”.

This book was incredibly sweet. I absolutely adored Judah and Tav. Judah is an amazingly, sweet guy who just wants Tav and will take him anyway he can get him. Tav is a beautiful soul who was put in an awful position. At 18, these two love each other with everything they are. But Tav’s mom is sick and the hospital bills are going to pile up, he makes the mistake of asking for help from the wrong person who completely uses it to their advantage and taking advantage of Tav and his desperation to do right by his mother. He’ll get the money for his mom’s care but he has to break up with Judah. And he does it, even though it shatters him to do it, he just wants his mom to live and be healthy. 20 years later and Tav and Judah have an unexpected run in, where Judah offers Tav a job. He also demands answers. Those answers for what happened when they were 18 pushes him over the edge of angry. But now that he has Tav back on his life, he refuses to let him go. But other forces are against them and this time Judah is the one having to make the hard choices but he already knows, there is no real choice. Tav is his everything. These two are true soulmates and their love is beautiful and bright and so pure. What isn’t pure? Their bedroom antics, that is hot, dirty and sexy as can be. These two have amazing chemistry. There’s lots of love, laughs and steam in this one. Another amazing book by this duo of authors, I love their writing style.

Book is wonderful except for couple of scenes that irritated me a lot. One is when Judah gets punched and beaten up by Shep due to a misunderstanding and Tav just stands there LOL. Now it's funny but at the time of reading, I was screaming in my head for Tav to do something/anything!

And the other is when Tav continuously contemplating leaving Judah again and again while Judah is the one who fought against everyone for their relationship. One thing I hate is spineless people who cant stand up for themselves nor for their so-called love of their life and Tav almost crossed the border for me in this case. Even when Judah was so upset and disappointed with what his mom did to oust him from his own company, Tav spouts if he should just leave Judah. And the other case where Judah repeatedly asks Tav on what he should do to make him trust him broke my heart.

As you can see from my rant, Judah takes the cake for me in this book, so all the stars are for him and loved him and his OTT possessiveness and love for Tav. I just wished Tav gave him as much support to Judah and stood up for him more.

Hilton's track on the side (and his crush on Judah) was just meh and I thought unnecessary.

Fool’s Errand brings us back to the trailer park and Tavish as he tries to make ends meet. A fender bender turns his world upside down when he comes face-to-face with someone from his past — his first love, Judah. Tav and Judah belong to different sides of the tracks. But, they gravitated towards each other the moment they met. Unfortunately, circumstances tore them apart at 18. Now, 20 years later, they finally have a chance to right the wrongs and try again.

Tav and Judah have incredible chemistry. They both have held on to their love for each other through the years, and it shows in even their hostile, early interactions. I thought the story would be more slow burn, with more time taken on groveling and forgiving, but that happens much earlier than expected. The drama comes from a different source. But I’m not mad about it because it gives more time to the crazy heat that these two authors write so well.

Ki and Meg keep expanding on this big world they’ve created. Each new character adds depths to a larger universe. Loved seeing the Kings again. I also hope there will be more of Ellis and Hilton, because they are both adorable.

Standalone. Second chance. Found family. Dual POV.

Tavish left Judah once and stayed away, but a chance encounter reunites them and Judah refuses to let Tav go. Judah always wondered why Tav broke his heart when they were teenagers, but even after 20 years he still loved Tav and will do anything to keep him. If you had a chance to read Fool’s Gold, Tav was very much an admirable supportive character and it was great to see him get a chance again with his forever person.

The possessive vibes were there definitely, but Judah was also 100 percent committed to having Tav in his life, and he stays true to that sentiment throughout the book and never wavers. I enjoyed the found family aspect (so glad Ellis and Hilton were kept and accepted into their family), the brief cameos from the Kings of Men MC characters, and even though Judah and Tav are much older than when they met they allowed themselves to be playful and needy with each other. I loved every moment Judah and Tav were on page together, the never forgotten feelings and the high heat chemistry definitely spanned the years they were apart. 4.5 rounded up

This is such a heartwarming second chance, soulmate story.
Jude had been bff’s with the maid’s son Tav since they were small children. Yet at 18 Jude finds his relationship with Tav has become so much more when circumstances change and Jude has no idea why.
Tav is sure Jude is his soulmate. Family issues cause Tav to take actions that breaks not only his heart but Jude’s as well. Currently, Tav is living in poverty but still able to help a young man mistreated by his family. Then an accident happens that brings Jude back into his life.
These two belong together that’s apparent from the beginning. The characters mostly are lovable and enjoyable, Hilton, and the warmheartedness of them shines.
I enjoyed the King’s part in this story. Really brought a different feel to the environment of the story.
The story moves right along and kept me page turning. I really enjoyed this story. I hope there will be more with them and Ellis and Hilton.

I enjoyed this book. I have been waiting for Tav’s story since we first met him. I was quickly pulled in to Tav and Judah’s story. There is no denying the heat between these two. No matter how hard they try to ignore it. So many years have gone by since the two went their separate ways but neither of them has forgotten the other. One day changes everything and both Tavish and Judah will have to decide if the heart is worth fighting for. The emotions that they have shine through everything and I loved seeing the depth of their love. It was nice to see the two fight for what they could have but will it be enough? Their story moves at a nice pace and I loved seeing the way the world of New Gothenburg connects throughout these books. This story brings the heat as well as the emotions and grabbed me right from the start.

Ahhhh finally Tav's story from the previous book Fool's Gold. We see a cameo of Shep (Ethan) from the previous book, and a few cameos of the Kings of Men MC characters from that series but this can be read as a standalone since their relationship/roles are all explained and rehashed.

This was so hot and smutty and SOOOO MUCHHHHH NIPPLE PLAYYYYY omg, I'm about to combust. It was so hot how fixated Judah was on Tav's huge pecs and wanting to suck and paint his nipples all the time. Reading all those korean manhwa web comics with buff dudes and their muscley pecs definitely gave me a new kink to obsess over. This book definitely did it justice with the amount of smut and nipple suckling.

Though it was very much dominated by steam, the story was a tragic one. I'm glad Judah and Tav got their second chance, and Judah's shitty friends can fk right off (except Eric). I was worried about the drama that overdramatic Hilton would bring but I'm glad they all settled into their own little found family.

I hope we get individual books for Ellis, Hilton, and maybe Eric (even though he has a partner here but if he gets his own book, then he could have a bi-awkening lol).

Lovely second chance story

These are new to me authors but this story really intrigued me so I definitely wanted to read it. I am so glad I did. This was a great story of love being destroyed by a cruel parent but surviving 20 years. When Judah and Tavish run into each other, literally, 20 years after Tav broke Jude's heart, Jude is mad but wants answers. He also is going to let him go again without a fight.

I loved how these men were forced apart and had to live such different lives but when they come together aren't able to be away again. However, they each have had their own experiences shape them into the men they are and their love is not easy. There are forces still in their way. Mainly, the cruel parent.

I really enjoyed the writing style of these authors and would recommend this story for sure. I will be checking out more of their writing.

I loved this book, it takes place in New Gothenburg and we still catch sight of the Kings. Ki and Meg did an amazing job with this book.

First, Judah and Tav have amazing chemistry, they are perfect together. They were separated for 20 years but they are still crazy in love when they found each other again. This story has a bit of groveling and forgiving but happens earlier in the book, so we can read a lot more of them together than I expected and a lot of spiciness between them.

Judah was the over the top and jealous boyfriend! Hated when other men flirt, ups, talk to Tav. While Tav was so sweet, an incredible “big brother” to Ellis and then Hilton. Both of them had such big hearts.

I read this book in two days, enjoyed so much. Can’t wait for the books that come next!

Second chance romance

Jude and Tav loved each other as teens and were separated by circumstances.
When they run into each other, literally, 20 years later, anger, hurt, and lust bring them back together.
The same issues from the past keep cropping up, but they're men now and better able to deal with it.
They truly love each other, and despite the fears and anxieties plaguing them, they're determined to prove to each other exactly how much each means to the other.
I absolutely loved Judah's possessi
veness and how much Tav craved it.
Of course, Ellis makes an appearance, and I'm glad to see that he's thriving.
Hilton was not a
initially liked very much, but he has some growth.
I really would love to see Ellis and Hilton get their very own HEA.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

Fool’s Errand is a contemporary lovers-reunited story from authors Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory. In addition to reuniting Tav and Judah, there are strong elements of opposites attract, class differences, and family issues. It’s set in a fictional city called New Gothenburg; the book is the second in the Fool’s series, but works well as a standalone. The chapters alternate between having Tav and Judah narrate, giving great insight into both of their motivations and struggles.

To pay his Mom's medical bills, 18 year old Tavish breaks up with the love of his life, Judah. 20 years later they have a car accident and the love that never died flares to life. As the two reconnect this book is filled with desire, lust, passion, anger and pure need. They are so hot and steamy they could melt the paint off your walls and are still so filled with intense need for each other it makes you hold your breath. This one is almost 10 stars and a new favorite in a long list of favorites for these authors. I received a copy of this book through Booksprout and this is my honest opinion.

Judah's mom is too priceless. She's so biased and selfish, it made me grind my teeth. I liked that Tsv and Judah were finally honest about the break up and the reason. The chemistry and heat between the two never waned , in fact it became more intense. They worked hard to make their relationship work the second time around. More obstacles to overcome, but it made them more committed to each other. The angst and frustration are Hugh throughout. Can Elizabeth learn her lesson?? The perfect blend of hurt/comfort, and the epilogues - epic swoon! I listened to the audio version and he was fantastic. The accent and individual voices are superb.

The Audiobook “Fool’s Errand” by Ki Brightly and MD Gregory kept and help my attention from beginning to end. Judah and Tavish broke my heart in the beginning and healed it by the end. It was an enjoyable journey from first love to second chances with possessiveness and found family, plus plenty of spice. I Like they way they brought Ellis and Hilton into the fold and gave then both a safe place and family.

The narration was well done by Keval Shah, he really brought the characters and story to like and that Scottish accent for Tavish was fabulous.

I received a copy of this audiobook and this is my honest opinion.

I love Tav!

I adored this story! It was still in New Gothenburg and we still got a glimpse of the Kings but it was a solid story in its own. I absolutely adored Tav and I loved his sweet personality and his care-taking tendencies with Ellis and Hilton…such a good “Daddy”…lol! Judah was the perfect protective, jealous boyfriend and I found his love of Tav’s chest somehow extremely sexy! I was thankful that he still had his dad at least at the end. Judah and Tav were perfect together.

I have been needing Tavish's story for like a year now! Judah and Tav are intense and complicated. But I was very pleased that the reason for Tav breaking things off in the past got out in the open fast. Their care and lust for each other is always present but outside forces due to their different lifestyles and class really put them through the wringer. Even though I felt for Judah because Tav's decision split them, I have a HUGE soft spot for Tav. He is a cinnamon roll underneath it all and I was all about it. Alot of depth and raw grit to this story and I cannot wait for the audible!

This is a standalone novel but it is set in the same trailer park that “Fools Gold” is set in and you get to see some of the back characters from other New Gothenburg stories. Judah and Tav have a second chance love story when they unexpectedly meet again after twenty years apart. The story is much more nuanced than you might think in the beginning and the story is definitely another great one by these two terrific authors.

This was another fun visit into the world of New Gothenburg. Tav and Judah were high school boyfriends. Then, Tav's mother became ill and the two broke up, so Tav could prioritize his mother's care. Now, twenty years later, the two men find each other again and realize that they still love each other. Outside forces conspire to keep them apart, but they are determined to stay together for the rest of their lives. Some of the characters from previous books make an appearance and the story arc is fairly low-angst. I really enjoyed this book!

Like everything that Brightly and Gregory write this book was well written and entertaining.
Tavish lives in a trailer park and the man he let get away Judah comes back into his life with a bang.
They sizzle as they navigate the changes in the life situations and the reason why Tavish ran in the past.

Loved this book, couldn’t put it down, the characters are fascinating and the action spicy.
Put this on your yo read list!

I loved Judah and Tav, I loved their love story but the second half of it was so disappointing. And the side characters are annoying as hell. they are adults, but they act like kids and are treated like them. considering that Jude had sex with one of them in the past, it's gross. And is Ellis suppose to be cute? Because no, I just found him rude and shameless. Why do J&T act like a freaking charity all of sudden? It's not working.
