I wear many hats. Author, mother, cook, housekeeper, laundry do-er, sister, daughter. I enjoy writing, it allows me to escape the realities of life: bills, day job, baths, supper, dieting, cleaning the litter box. My writing is usually romantic in nature with a bit of humor and a bit of surprise. My books range from Vampires who fall in and out of love so many times I had to make it a series to christian stories of finding out what is important in life. I have always loved writing. During my high school days I wrote one book. It was a vampire love story. It took me so long to write it that I began to think of the characters as real people. I still do that today. On a personal note: I have three wonderful children - Gavin, Arabelle, and Elijah, two not so wonderful cats, and two rats. We all live in a small town in northern Ohio. There is more corn here than vampires or werewolves, at least that I know of.
Another wonderful book by Amy Richie. The story of Willow's sister Ivy. Both being werewolves and having to stand together with their packs to defeat the enemy...Awesome
Ivy picks up 4 years after the events of Fern and from the first few pages the book hits the ground running and you run along head first into the story with Willow and her pack. And really there's no better place to be.
In the past Willow has been hesitant to fully embrace her responsibilities, and in Ivy although she has fully accepted her leadership role she sometimes struggles with her self esteem and her ability to reliably lead her pack of wolves. Willow is not some super female who magically knows the how and the why of everything. She is still a young woman who is still trying to find her feet in the werewolf world and she does it magnificently. When it is required of her she realises that she has the strength to step up and do what needs to be done and while she still feels like she may not be good enough, she realises that its more than just her pack that needs her. The Willow we leave at the end of this book is not the same Willow we meet in the first book of this series. She is so much more, so much better.
Richie's writing has this amazing hold on you that keeps you hanging on every word. Even when I wasn't reading I was in Willow's world, I was thinking over what I had read and was wondering what was going to happen next. One of the things I love about this series is despite the serious tone of the stories, Richie manages to bring fun moments into them and this one is no exception. This, combined with a story that flows effortlessly and characters that are flawed but real, gives us a wonderful 5 star book to end what has been a 5 star series.
Author Amy Richie was has style of writing that reels you in, holds you tight, and does not let go till the last word. The Blood Vine Series is superbly written and the latest release, Ivy, was no exception.
Ivy is the last book in the series and picks up about four years after Fern. The reader is enlightened as to what transpired during that time. As readers will recall, at the end of Fern- Book 2, Willow was faced with the task of having to track down and possibly destroy her only sister, Ivy. Book 2 showed us how much Willow had grown into her role as pack leader. But in Book 3 when faced with the possibility that she may have to kill her only sister, we see the struggle and strain put on Willow as well as her pack. The hunt for Ivy and the truth with test the packs’ bond and faith in each other. Touch decisions will have to be made. The welfare of the pack must take priority. But with Willow’s loyalties divided is there only one right solution?
The Blood Vines Series is one of my all-time favorites. Amy Richie grabs me on page one and takes me on a gripping thrill ride till the end. I find that once I start reading I cannot stop. I am anxiously waiting to turn the page in anticipation of what will come next. It’s that intensity that allows you to read this series multiple times, still enjoy it and discover things you missed before.
I think these books are good. The only thing I don't like about them. Is the fact that the female is supposed to be in charge, and she let's the guy run all over her. Like he is in charge, it is extremely annoying actually. She gives in to just about everything he wants. The pack even points that out at one point. But then when she doesn't agree, she let's him split her pack up. Then after that turn out to be a big mistake. He returns and she Acts like nothing happens. And she pretty much caves and let's him take charge again. Like I said the female is supposed to be in charge. If you were going to take most of her decision away. Why did you make it where the female is in charge?
A new favorite series! I hope when it says The End end end end end at the end...that it's not the end! I loved this series so much! But this last book really tops the list! Willow is strong and unsure, such a strange combination. She has the strongest pack of all time, and they are being hunted. This book is so funny too. Like literal laughing out loud, people think you are crazy funny at some parts. But at other parts, I was sobbing like a baby! Such an emotional ride with ups and downs, and even some "........" moments. I read 90% of my books on my kindle, but this series will be purchased for my shelves! A must read for sure!
I really loved this series. It has all the excitement that a book needs to keep you interested. Each book continued seamlessly which I really like. I would like to have seen Amy continue the story with a book about Lily to see how she grows and develops. This series could definitely have continued along that line and I would have continued to read them. I highly recommend this series, but beware, they are very hard to put down once you get started.
I was gifted this book by the author. OMG!!! This book was absolutely stunning. I loved how everything came together in this book. Willow and her pack have to fight for their lives in this book. This by far is one of the best werewolf series that I have read. This is a must read for everyone who loves werewolves like I do. Great Job Amy!!!
Awesome series and fantastic ending!!! I'm so sad it's over it was pure comedy and drama and over the top man possessiveness haha it was was an incredible story
