A unique baby-led weaning cookbook from Lily Payen of Feeding Tiny Bellies, with over 100 easy recipes for feeding little ones and beyond
Lily Payen, the mama behind the popular baby-led weaning website Feeding Tiny Bellies, knows how challenging it can be to start feeding solids to your baby. When Lily was a new parent faced with offering solids to her baby for the first time, she was lost on where to start, what to feed him, and how to balance making meals for the entire family.
Through trial and error—and two more babies—Lily figured out what worked and what didn't. She created her website, and now, this cookbook, to help other parents and caregivers make meals they can feel confident about serving to their little ones. The 100+ simple recipes—from Strawberry Oatmeal Bars to Avocado Chicken Salad to Parmesan-Crusted Salmon—are designed for babies six months of age who are beginning solids, and each recipe includes tips for modifying and safely serving portions for babies.
Lily guides you through the weaning journey, addressing the most commonly asked questions and providing advice for parents of picky eaters, children with allergies, and more. This book is your one-stop shop for creating delicious recipes that the whole family will love.
4.75 Stars Fantastic! Full of great information presented in a way that's concise and easy to understand. Sample menu and grocery list is SUPER helpful and the recipes look simple and delicious. They all look like something I actually want to eat on a Wednesday night rather than some recipe to save for later when I have time/energy to make it.
One thing I wish would have been included would be a tag of sorts to suggest which recipes would be better suited for younger babies and toddlers or babies in the later stages of eating solids. For example, I won't be feeding the bean and corn quesadillas to my 7mo but that will be a great recipe later on! But I assume a tag was left out to allow families flexibility and promote variety because every babybis different and might be ready for different food at different ages.
I really enjoyed this cookbook for toddlers and look forward to making some of the recipes to try. The recipe ingredients are easy to obtain, and the recipes are not overwhelming. I also think this would be a great "cooking together" cookbook if you have a toddler who loves to help in the kitchen like I do. I'm especially looking forward to trying Strawberry Oat Cookies, Flaky Fruity Pinwheels, No-Bake Carrot Cake Bites, & Creamy Avocado Pasta (seems perfect for St. Patrick's Day). I look forward to other cookbooks by this author and creator.
This cookbook has been a lifesaver with recipes for our whole family. It ranges from simple snacks to family meals, sweet to savory, and just a mix that everyone loves. Lily does an amazing job making the recipes super easy to follow. Not to mention the layout and the pictures are all beautiful. It is a true staple in our kitchen!! Thank you!
This is my favorite cookbook to use for my 1.5 yr old toddler because he has a very selective palette but will eat all the foods I make from this. He loves it so much that he will ask for more. Also, Lily includes notes on substitutions which I have often resorted to when I don’t have an ingredient.
I’ve been following Lilly on Instagram for awhile and love her recipes. I was excited to have them in a physical form and the recipe book layout is beautiful, easy to read, I love that there is a picture for each recipe.
Yes I am adding a cookbook to my read list - it counts.
This was so helpful to meal prep some baby friendly foods, especially breakfast. I have to return this to the library, but i will be checking this out again.
I love this book! I've followed Lily on her website since I first started feeding my daughter solid foods; the recipes are usually fairly simple and always delicious.
This book is truly a Godsend. I'm always stuck on what to feed my baby and toddler, but this book has so many ideas AND pictures for every single recipe. Highly recommend if you have little ones.
Love this cookbook! Simple, healthy recipes that kids enjoy. Also love that there are pictures of each recipe. The information on baby-led weaning was very helpful as well.
